Juanita Utter
ARGOS -- Juanita Utter, 76, of Michigan Road, Argos, was surrounded by her loving family
when she passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in the Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart.
She was born in Rochester July 3, 1935, to Doyle and Reba Wagoner Clemans. As one of 12
children, Juanita shared her childhood with three sisters and six brothers, and was a life time
resident of Fulton and Marshall counties.
A dedicated clerk, Juanita worked for R.R. Donnelley and Sons of Warsaw for 35 years. She
loved her job and regarded her colleagues as her extended family.
In 1960 she was one of the founding members of the Bunco Club, which she was active rolling
the dice till recently. She was a former member of the Argos American Legion Post and the
Manitou Post #36 Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliaries.
An avid racing fan, Juanita loved following the stock car circuit. She was a frequent visitor to the
tracks of Plymouth and South Bend in Indiana and the Mottville Speedway in Michigan. Winter
brought her to the Argos High School gym where she cheered for the Lady Dragons basketball
team. A doll collector, her most treasured were two Elvis dolls and one of Princess Diana. She
was the proud owner of a vast and unique collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia.
To relax, she enjoyed trekking to Bristol, Mich. to her mother's cabin. There was nothing like
sitting on the banks of the lake while fishing for bluegill with her favorite cane pole. A lifelong love
for reading, Juanita especially enjoyed books of Harlequin romance. An accomplished dancer,
not many could shake-rattle and roll as well as the dancing queen. A seasoned traveler, Juanita
and her sisters enjoyed adventures to California and Boston. She and Bob savored back road
traveling on Sunday afternoons. Her most memorable vacation was to Memphis where she and
Bob toured Elvis's home.
Juanita is lovingly remembered by her companion Bob Bauman, at home; daughters, Laura
Hawkins and husband Ken of Warsaw; Rita Utter of Fort Wayne; Shelly King and husband
Michael of Burkett; Kathy Blauser of Warsaw; Brenda Utter of Etna Green; Tina Becker and
husband Jeff of Culver; a son, Rodney Utter and wife Donna of Warsaw; seven grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Barbara Reese and companion Norm Steinman of
Bourbon; Loretta Miller and husband Robert of Alabama; Mary Hammonds and husband Larry of
Claypool; Norma Bolen and husband Delbert of Palestine Lake; Sue Miller and husband John of
Peru; Cindy Burnworth and husband Tom of Claypool and three brothers, Carlton Clemans of
Lancaster, Calif.; Larry Isley and wife Edith of Logansport; Max Isley and wife Eileen of Claypool.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Ryan Utter and brothers, Billy Isley and
Kenny Isley.
A celebration of the life of Juanita Utter will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in the Good Family
Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, with Rev. Phil Pratt officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 2-6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior the service in the
funeral home.
She will be laid to eternally rest next to her beloved grandson, Ryan in Rochester's IOOF
cemetery. Memorials may be made to Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart.

Ruth M. Vanskyock
BREMEN -- Ruth M. Vanskyock, 97, of Bremen died Oct. 13, 2011 in Bremen Health Care.
She is survived by a daughter, Janet Horn of Goshen, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren
and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 22, 2011 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Calling
will be one hour prior to the services. Interment of ashes will follow in the Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in care of Mishler Funeral
Home.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

Becky Leachman Matosich
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. -- Becky Leachman Matosich, 57, of Tarpon Springs, Fla. died Oct.
16, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. at Community Hospital, New Port Richey, Fla.
Services are pending at Van Gilder Funeral Home.
TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. -- Becky (Leachman) Matosich, 57, of 1054 Sparrow Lane, Tarpon
Springs, Fla., formerly of Plymouth and South Bend, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 16,
2011, at Community Hospital in New Port Richie, Fla.
Becky was born May 22, 1954, in Plymouth, to Frank and Lucille 'Lucy' (Richardson) Leachman.
Becky married Michael Matosich Aug. 29, 1986, in Plymouth. Michael and Becky moved to
Florida, two years ago, from South Bend.
Becky attended Plymouth High School. She enjoyed kayaking, collecting pottery, gardening, and
most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She and Michael loved riding their Harley
together.
Becky is survived by her husband, Michael; her mother, Lucy Leachman Kniggendorf of
Plymouth; her daughter, Wendy Drubert (Bryon) Haenes and their children, Brandon Thompson,
Mckenzie Haenes, and Mikayla Haenes; Christy Drubert (Craig) Williams and their children,
Kaitlyn Williams and Aaron Williams; her sons, Randal (Allison) Hankins and their child, Tyler
Hankins; and Phillip (Kristina) Drubert and their children, Kyrstin Drubert, Caramon Drubert, and
Elaina Drubert; her sister, Kelly Pynaert of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and her brothers, Larry
Leachman and Matthew Leachman of Miami, Fla. Becky was preceded in death by her father,
Frank Leachman; her brother, Michael Leachman; and her nephews, Andrew Bowers and Sean
Leachman.

Morris "Wally" Wallace
PLYMOUTH -- Former River Park resident Morris 'Wally' Wallace, 89, of Plymouth died at 6:55
p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He is survived by a sister, Ruby Shively of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 in Argos Bible Church, 225 S. Michigan St., where
services will be held at 6 p.m.
Graveside services with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the New Oakhill cemetery,
Plymouth.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth is assisting with arrangements.

Kenneth A. McCartney
DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- Kenneth A. McCartney, 81, of Dowagiac, Mich. passed away Monday,
Oct. 17, 2011 at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital.
Kenneth’s life began Jan. 13, 1930 in Albion, Mich., the son of Minet and Maude Frances
(Crabb) McCartney. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Kenneth was united in marriage to the former Pauline Hissong Nov. 25, 1951 in Plymouth.
He worked as a pipefitter for Ball Band and later for Uniroyal in Mishawaka. Kenneth was a faith
filled member of the Calvary Bible Church. He loved spending time with his family and was well
known for making apple butter with his family and friends. Kenneth was a farmer at heart and
loved to fish and hunt. He was very fond of eating blueberries and enjoyed bowling.
His loving family includes his wife of 59 years Pauline McCartney of Dowagiac, Mich.; children
Bonnie (Robert) Pierce of Dowagiac, Mich., Wayne (Denise) McCartney of Monee, Ill., Janet
(Dan) Wishart of Cassopolis, Mich. and Roger (Melissa) McCartney of Plymouth; nine
grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister Sharon Grady of Mishawaka, and brothers Keith
McCartney of Osceola, Norman McCartney and Larry McCartney, both of Mishawaka, and
several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by two sisters Evelyn Smith and Frances Runnels, and two brothers Lee
and James McCartney.
His family will gather with friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Yazel & Clark Chapel. Kenneth’s
funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Bible Church led by Pastor Robert
Vickroy. He will be laid to rest in Mission Hills cemetery, Niles, Mich. Memorial contributions in
his name may be directed to the Calvary Bible Church.

Donald E. Wickersham
HAMLET -- Donald E. Wickersham, 74, of Hamlet died Oct. 17, 2011 at his residence of natural
causes.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne M. Wickersham of Hamlet; sons, Richard (Carol) Wickersham
of Lena, Ill., Donald Wickersham Jr. of Casper, Wyo.; daughters, Victoria Peters of Casper,
Wyo., Brenda (Pat) McLin of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepdaughters, Vicky (Ralph) Adams of Stockton,
Ill., Rhonda Lund of Rock Falls, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
His body was donated to Anatomy Sharing Network, Indianapolis.
There will be no services.

Irene I. Cripe
PLYMOUTH -- Irene I. Cripe, 89, of Olive Trail, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, in
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Gail (Jim) Griffy, Plymouth, and by her sons Buryl
Wayne (Kathy) Wood, Florida and Neil Allen (Kathy) Wood, South Carolina and several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Visitation is from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. following visitation at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Brainertown cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to Heart and Hands, 220 N. Center St.,
Plymouth, IN 46563

Milton E. Goble
PLYMOUTH -- Milton E. Goble, 90, of 16066 Pretty Lake Road, Plymouth, went to be with his
Lord and Savior Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, while residing in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
Milton was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Milan, Mich. to Edward Wilson and Clara M. (McCreery)
Goble. Milton served his country, with pride, in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Ruth M. Unser
and Milton Goble were joined in marriage Dec. 28, 1946. Ruth passed away March 20, 1981.
Milton, Oct. 28, 1982, married Gloria Shegan. Gloria survives.
Milton owned and operated the M. Goble Heating, Air conditioning, and Supply, in Plymouth, for
many years until his retirement. He loved to play fast pitch baseball, as a pitcher, and did so until
he was 60 years old. Milton and Gloria, during their retirement years, collected Indian Artifacts
and Blue Ridge Pottery. He started the Immanuel Elementary School, grades, K-8. His main
calling was in ministry. He was an inspiration to his children and grandchildren. Milton also taught
adult Sunday school until the age of 90 and was a member of Mount Hope United Methodist
Church, in Leiters Ford.
Milton is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Goble; his sons, Larry Goble of Anderson, Michael
(Barbara) Goble of Michigan, Tim (Jane) Goble of Colville, Wash., Chris (Lisa) Goble of Culver;
his daughter, Ruth Ann (Steve) Gaffin of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; their son, Steve.

Ann Ellen Goetz
KNOX -- Ann Ellen Goetz, 68, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at IU Health Starke Hospital, Knox.
She is survived by her husband, Grover Goetz; three daughters, Cathy (Dan) Williams of Hanna,
Colleen Hodge and Cindy (Rick) Clark, all of Knox; three sons, Grover (Misty) Goetz Jr., Tom
(Jenny) Goetz and Bob (Jayme) Goetz, all of Knox; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Irene Frost of Knox and Pat Stewart of Cape Coral, Fla.; three brothers, Tom Frost
of Chicago, Ill., Dave Frost of Manteno, Ill. and Jim Frost of Tinley Park, Ill.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. CDT at St. Thomas Aquinas Church of Knox. Burial
will be at the Fancher cemetery in Hamlet. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday
from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Leona A. Truex
NAPPANEE -- Leona A. Truex, 76, died at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011 at the Elkhart
Hospice House. She was born Sept. 11, 1935 in Diamond, W.Va. to Emmit and Louise (Anna)
Blosfield. She married Virgil Truex April 19, 1988 in Cassopolis, Mich.
Her husband survives along with two sons, Allen Freshour of Elkhart, John Freshour of Goshen,
two daughters, Katherine (Robert) Irvin of Nappanee, Barbara (Joseph) Angelo of Fort
Benningtion, Calif., two stepsons, Donald (Kim) Truex of Nappanee, Timothy (Susan) Truex of
Vero Beach, Fla. and one stepdaughter, Polly (Kim) Burton of Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving
are 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, six step grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Theodore C. Freshour and five siblings.
Leona enjoyed collecting dolls, fishing and shopping. She loved to play games, especially, her
favorite game, Yahtzee.
Visitation for Leona will be Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman
Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in
South Union cemetery, Nappanee.
