Laurene J. Gunterman
BREMEN -- Laurene J. Gunterman, 88, of Bremen, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at the
Bremen Health Care Center. She was born June 1, 1923 in Plymouth to James and Marie
(Tallant) Gilbert. She was married to Anthony Gunterman, who preceded her in death in 1975.
Laurene was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in
Bremen, Plymouth Moose Ladies Aux., and previous member of the Rosary Sadality. Laurene
was a natural, loving caregiver to both her family and those in need.
Survivors include daughter Linda S. Verhaeghe of Plymouth, son Tony (Pam) Gunterman of
Bremen, seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and twin sister Lauretta Berger of
Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, sister Helen and four brothers: Dick, Don, Bob and
Ed Gilbert, and son-in-law Leon Verhaeghe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at St. Dominic Catholic
Church in Bremen and will be officiated by Father Bob Lengerich. Burial will follow at the Bremen
cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
A rosary service will begin at 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen or to the Center
for Hospice Care.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald E. Longanecker
PLYMOUTH -- Donald E. Longanecker, 84, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at his
home.
He was born April 10, 1927 in Sterling, Ill., the son of Howard Longanecker and Elsie (Dettman)
Longanecker.
Donald had worked for LaPorte Transit, retiring in 1989. He was a member of American Legion
Post 83, and a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. Donald enjoyed coin collecting
and model cars.
July 24, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., he married Madeleine (Legoff) Longanecker who survives.
He is also survived by his three sons -- Ronald (Pat) Longanecker of Palos Heights, Ill., Bruce
(Pat) Longanecker of Morton Grove, Ill., Gordon (Debbie) Longanecker of Plymouth; daughter —
Susan (Carl) Niedoborski of Orland Park, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and one
brother -- Kenneth Longanecker of Jefferson City, Mo.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mildred Koning, one grandson, two
great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte where
the family will receive friends Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, from 11 a.m., until time of services.
Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday Dec. 5, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Rev.
Tom Padberg officiating. Cremation will take place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #83, Salvation Army 3240
Monroe St., LaPorte, IN 46350, or Center for Hospice Care 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN
46637.

Ruby L. Sawyer
MILFORD -- Ruby L. Sawyer, 87, 493 E. Camp Mack Road, Milford, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at
8:55 a.m. at her residence from natural causes.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence 'Bud' Sawyer; daughters Connie (Steve)
Schermerhorn, New Paris, Roxann (Tom) Monhaut, Goshen; son Kent (Ann) Sawyer, Milford;
four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is Friday, Dec. 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home, Nappanee, and also one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be Saturday at 10:30
a.m., at Nappanee Church of the Brethren. Burial is at Union Center cemetery. Memorial
contributions may be made to the church.

Billy Dean Tyler
ROCHESTER -- Billy Dean Tyler, 81, of 2113 Wolf’s Point Drive, Rochester, died at 9:15 p.m.,
Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Donna; sons, Denny (Deb) Tyler of Rochester, Mark (Debbie) Tyler of
Rochester, Michael (Karen) Tyler of Akron, Doug (Melody) Tyler of Fort Wayne; 10
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elnora (Jack) Sayger of Rochester, Clymenia
(Willis) Halterman of Rochester, Judy (Charles) Kuhn of Rochester; and brothers, Paul (Sandy)
Tyler of Rochester, Jimmie Tyler of Rochester.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200
W. 18th St., Rochester. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service
in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Melissa Ann Young
PLYMOUTH -- Melissa 'Missy' Ann Young, 43, died of natural causes at her home in South
Bend Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011.
She is survived by her mother, Mary L. Nethercutt of Mishawaka; sons, former PFC Timothy L.
Hoff, Bremen, SGT Justin D. Hoff of Ft. Campbell, Ky., and Miles Warner of Plymouth; one
grandson; sisters, Crystal Lenig (Lloyd Wesley), Plymouth: Wanda (Jeremy) Schlemmer,
Mishawaka and Amanda Ross Nethercutt, also of Mishawaka; two half sisters of Cromwell; and
one brother, Dwayne (Danielle) Nethercutt of Plymouth.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, in the sanctuary at the Christian
Center Church of South Bend.
Memorial gifts may be made to the family.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.

Debra A. Gore
WALKERTON -- Debra A. Gore, 60, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at 10:45 p.m. in Miller’s
Merry Manor, Walkerton.
Visitation will be held Monday, Dec. 6, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral service will be held immediately following
visitation at 6 p.m.
Burial will take place at a later date in Southlawn cemetery, South Bend.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pathfinders Services, P.O. Box 431, Plymouth, IN 46563.

Charles Duane Johnson
PLYMOUTH -- Charles Duane Johnson, 79, of Douglas Drive, Plymouth, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 30, 2011 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka following a brief illness.
A lifetime member of the Plymouth community, he was known to many as Charlie.
He was born the son of Luther S. and Lila A. (Larsen) Johnson in Plymouth Nov. 30, 1932.
Charlie graduated from West High School in 1950. He then served in the U. S. Army from 1953-
1955 in Korea.
Oct. 20, 1957 in Knox he took as his bride, the former Ruthanne M. White. Together they
enjoyed 54 wonderful years together raising their family of three children. They are: Son Brian D.
(Janet) Johnson of Argos and children; Derek E. (Candy) Tracy, Whitney B. (Casey) Girton and
Kelsey L. Johnson, daughter, Cathy D. Keister of Plymouth and her son; Brandon N. Keister and
daughter, Kimberly D. (Don) Abair of Plymouth and children; Katie R. (Les) Marcum, Allison K.
(Matt) Malkowski and Zachary C. Abair. Great-grandchildren include Sydney L. Girten, Kaylee N.
Girton, Hunter M. Girton, Kyndall R. Marcum, Avery G. Malkowski, Carter Booth, Marcus Yates,
Seairra Bibler, Catarina, Tracy, Anastasia Tracy and Daijah Tracy.
A sister, Betty J. Rhodes and a brother Floyd H. 'Bud' (Shirley) Johnson all of Plymouth also
survive with several nieces and nephews.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Johnson.
Charlie was a good humored family man who loved taking in the activities of his grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
He also loved 'his girls' Sadie and Sassy pet shih poos. Charlie enjoyed working in his yard and
keeping things in order.
He first worked as a pressman for the Plymouth Pilot News from 1956-1970, then Indiana Tool
from 1970-1984 and retired from the Plymouth School Corporation in 1998 after 13 years in
custodial work mostly at Lincoln Jr. High.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in
the funeral home.
The Rev. Oliver Dongell, pastor of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church where Charlie attended with
his family, will officiate.
Military honors will be provided by members of the Plymouth American Legion Post 27, Veterans
of Foreign Wars – Marshall Co. Post 1162 and the D.A.V.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Marshall County Humane Society, P.O. Box 22, Plymouth, IN
46563.

Eric M. Kime
SOUTH BEND -- Eric M. Kime, 70, of South Bend, passed away at 10:22 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 30, 2011 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, after battling an illness there for
eight weeks.
Along with his parents, his first wife, Constance (Connie) Stocker preceded him in death.
He was born Oct. 2, 1941 to the late Donald C. and Katherine (McGowan) Kime in Evansville,
graduated from high school in Plymouth in 1959, graduated from South Bend College of
Commerce in 1962 and has lived in the South Bend area for 50 years.
Mr. Kime served in the Army National Guard from 1963-1969.
He was employed at Menards in Mishawaka from 1995-2002. Prior to that, he worked at First
Old State Bank in South Bend.
Dec. 22, 1997, he married Kristie A. (Lightner) Flores in Elkhart. Before his illness, he was very
active and enjoyed dancing with his wife.
He was also an avid collector and loved antiques and vintage cars which included membership
in the Pioneer Auto Association. He loved the outdoors and loved sail boating and gardening.
He was a friend to many, Eric enjoyed talking and always had time to talk. In addition he was a
great listener.
He is survived by his wife, Kristie A. Kime; daughter, Nicolle (Paul) Scott of New Carlisle;
stepdaughter, Elena A. Ryback of Livonia, Mich.; stepson, Daniel (Andrea) Flores of Granger;
seven grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and a sister, Karna (Edwin) Rymarz of Seattle, Wash.
Visitation was from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N.
Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South
Bend, with Rev. William Rapp officiating. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola, where Military Honors were conducted.

Diana Lynn (Swank) Kuehl
MONTGOMERY, Texas -- Diana Lynn (Swank) Kuehl, 63, died Nov. 30, 2011 after an 18-
month battle with colon cancer.
She is survived by husband, Tim; daughter, Denise Kuehl of Montgomery, Texas; and sister,
Barbara (Denny) Wuthrich.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at the Mishler Funeral Home,
Bremen. Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cathy Ann Roseberry
VALPARAISO -- Cathy Ann Roseberry, 62, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30,
2011, at the VNA Hospice Center. She was born May 23, 1949, in Plymouth, to Henry E. and
Mildred E. (Heidel) Sahlhoff and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1967. Cathy had been
a purchasing agent with Rexam Beverage Can Company for 37 years through many transitions.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wanatah where she served as organist for more
than four decades.
Through all the years her family and her music continued to be the focus of her passion.
Survivors include her children: Wendy (Elliott) Correll of Nappanee, Nicole (Sean) Siewin of
Valparaiso, Matthew Roseberry (Julie McKean) of Valparaiso, Rachel (Zachary) Sliwa of
Valparaiso; brother: Carl (Kathleen) Sahlhoff of Eau Claire, Wis.; sisters: Carol (Timothy) Earle of
LaCrosse, Cindy (Charles Jr. 'Bub') Patrick of San Pierre; grandchildren: Morgan May and Bo
Henry Correll and Lucas and Isaac Siewin.
A funeral service will be held Monday 11 a.m. CST at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 15496 S. 900
W., Wanatah, Rev. Joel S. Zipay officiating with burial to follow at St. John’s Lutheran cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St. In lieu of
flowers memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
