Dorthy Irene Millea
PLYMOUTH -- Dorothy Irene Millea, 84, a Plymouth resident since 1935, died at 1:50 a.m. Dec.
1, 2011 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
The daughter of Thomas G. and Lillian A. Graf Millea, Dorothy was born Aug. 26, 1927, in
Mishawaka.
Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Plymouth High School.
She had worked at American Optical for 37 years, retiring in 1992 as office supervisor.
She was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church, where she was a member and
former treasurer of Harvest House. She also was a volunteer at the Marshall County Historical
Society and enjoyed reading and playing golf.
Dorothy is survived by a sister, Mary E. McKee of Plymouth; a brother, Tom (Juanita) Millea of
New Albany; and nieces and nephews: Tom McKee, Margaret (Gary) Flagg, Patricia McKee and
Kamila Millea, all of Plymouth; Janet (Geoff) Lawson of Austin, Texas; Tom (Becky) Millea and
Richard Millea of New Albany; Julie Millea and Dan (Traci) Millea of Charlotte, N.C.; Alan Millea
of Atlanta, Ga.; Bob (Polly) Millea of Minneapolis, Minn. and Carolyn (Rick) Malcon of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert W. (Harriet) Millea
a brother-in-law, Forrest McKee and a nephew, Tim Millea.
Friends will be welcomed by the family to celebrate the life of Dorothy Millea Tuesday, Dec. 6,
2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
A Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Tuesday, in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St.,
Plymouth, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011. The Rev. Father William Kummer will officiate.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in Dorothy’s memory may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or a charity of
the donor’s choice.

Lloyd L. Miller
NEW PARIS -- Lloyd L. Miller, 61, of 22757 CR 44, New Paris, died at 6:08 p.m., Thursday,
Dec. 1, at Simon Cancer Center, IU Hospital, Indianapolis.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy; daughters, Heather (Jeffrey) Iwema, Nappanee and Danielle
(Brian) Thompson, Elkhart; three grandsons; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren;
his mother, Polly Schmucker, Nappanee; sister, Betty Ferrell, Wakarusa; and
brothers, Walter (Martha) Miller and Vernon (JoEllen) Miller both of Nappanee, Andrew Miller
and Homer (Brenda) Miller both of Bremen.
Visitation is Sunday 2 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday at Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Paris
cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lymphoma and Leukemia Society.

Helen Ruth Hoyt
NAPPANEE -- Helen Ruth Hoyt, 91, formerly of Nappanee, died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at 4:35
a.m. at Grace Village Health Care in Winona Lake.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharie (Pat) Johnson of Syracuse, sons, Mike (Diana) Hoyt of
Mentone and Jim (Rhonda) Hoyt of Richardson, Texas; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren
and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 4 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral
Home in Nappanee and also one hour prior to the funeral service which will be Monday, Dec. 5
at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in South Union cemetery. Memorial contributions
may be given to the Nappanee United Methodist Church or Kosciusko County Hospice.

Sharron C. Jones
PLYMOUTH -- Sharron C. Jones, 72, of Plymouth, passed away at 8:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2,
2011 at Hospice House, Elkhart. Sharron was born July 13, 1939 in Gary to the late Frank R.
and Clela E. (Adkins) Wallace and has lived in the Plymouth area since 1959 coming from
Valparaiso. July 18, 1959 in Boone Grove, she was united in marriage to Melvin F. Jones, who
survives.
Along with her husband, Melvin, Sharron is survived by two daughters, Carrie Jones and Cindy
Jones-Turner both of South Bend; her sister, Joyce (Ed) Blastick of LaPorte; and two brothers,
Michael (Christine) Wallace of Valparaiso and Gary Wallace of Portage. One sister, Frankie
Carol Wallace and one brother, Chuck Wallace preceded Sharron in death.
Sharron worked at Garner’s Truck Stop for 26 years and later at Cardinal Center Group Homes.
She was a member of the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, North Liberty. Sharron enjoyed
traveling, sewing and spending time with her friends and family. She was a wonderful
homemaker and a loving wife and mother.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at the Palmer Funeral Home –
Lakeville Chapel. Rev. Steve VanHouten, pastor of Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Morris cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may
visit with the family from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville.
Expressions of sympathy to the Jones Family may be offered to Center for Hospice Care, 111
Sunnybrook Ct. South Bend, IN 46637.

Ronald "Mouse" Spoor
PLYMOUTH -- Ronald 'Mouse, ' Spoor, 82, passed away at 6:06 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, in
the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.
A lifetime resident of Plymouth, Ron was born in Plymouth June 25, 1929, the son of Vern and
Carrie Bradford Spoor.
He attended Plymouth schools and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.
Aug. 11, 1985, in Plymouth, he and Sharon Parkus Hurford were married .
A talented construction worker he worked for C.L. Morris, Dick Day Construction and Zartman
Construction.
Ron had many interests. He was a fantastic carpenter; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and
gardening. He collected arrowheads and was an avid reader; he loved animals and has been
known to rescue many cats.
A great family man, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He was a founding member of the Archery Range and the Menominee Bow Hunters Club.
Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon and by their six children. They are sons: Vern (Mary)
Spoor, Houston, Texas, Randy (Debbie) Spoor, Plymouth and Mike Hurford, Monterey. His
daughters are Terri (Gene) Frazier, North Judson and Tammi Robertson and Chris Hurford, both
of Plymouth.
A sister, Helen Breitspecker of LaPorte, also survives together with 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law, Margaret Hurford, a brother, Julius
(Florence) Spoor, a brother-in-law, Lester Breitspecker and a granddaughter, Morgan Hurford,
Visitation with Ron’s family will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Ron will be held immediately after visitation at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
The Fr. William Kummer will officiate.
Burial with full military honors will be accorded to Ron by the Plymouth American Legion, VFW
and DAV along with the South Bend Honor Guard in New Oakhill cemetery Thursday, Dec. 8,
2011, at 1 p.m.
Memorial gifts in Ron’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society.

William E. Loper
ROCHESTER -- William E. 'Bill' Loper, 70, of Rochester, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Ginger (Bob) Reed, Tariesa Vendola, all of
Rochester, Matthew (Lyn) Loper, Fulton, Kari (Jim) Felda, Kewanna, Rhonda Wiegand (Brian)
Johnson, and Lauren Wiegand (Dan) Jefferies, all of Rochester; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren;
and brothers, Robert Loper, Warsaw, and Richard Loper, Cromwell.
Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, 1000 Main St., Rochester.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St.,
Rochester, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the IOOF
cemetery, Rochester. Gifts in his memory may be made to First Baptist Church or Martin Hall at
Life Care Center.

Natheta J. Berg
WALKERTON -- Natheta J. Berg, 78, of Walkerton died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 in St. Joseph
Regional Medical Center, Plymouth after a sudden illness.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Berg; daughters, Bonita (Doyle Blooding) Bent-Nelson
of South Bend, Lora (Scott) Vieting of Hamlet and Jacquelyn (Thad) Rippy of Plymouth; son,
Paul (Brenda) Bent of Walkerton; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Gene
(Barbara) Ossler of Raleigh, N.C.; and one sister, Barbara (Frank) Abel of Hamlet.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. CST in Rannells Funeral Home,
Hamlet Chapel. Burial will be at the Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet. Visitation is Tuesday from 3 to 8
p.m. and Wednesday after 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to
the Hamlet United Methodist Church.

V. Jean Gilbert
PLYMOUTH -- V. Jean Gilbert, 82, a lifetime Plymouth resident, passed away at 12:30 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center -- Plymouth Campus of natural
causes. Jean has resided on 12th Road for the past 58 years.
Jean was born the daughter of LeRoy and Anna Viola (Cannan) Belt in Plymouth Sept. 4, 1929.
She was raised during the Depression by her grandparents; Ed and Jennie Cannan. She
attended Inwood School and graduated from there in 1946.
Nov. 25, 1947 at Inwood she became the bride of Navy veteran, Richard F. Gilbert. 'Bing' would
precede her in death July 10, 1988.
Jean was a mother and homemaker who also volunteered with the Marshall County Historical
Museum for many years. She had a great appreciation for Genealogy research, was a postmark
and stamp collector and enjoyed reading. She was patient and kind to those she assisted and
truly enjoyed remaining connected with classmates at their monthly breakfasts.
Jean would attend New Song Community Church of Plymouth with her family.
She is survived by two daughters and their families: Mary Ann and Larry Neff and their children,
Kim (Rich) Dills, Stacy Neff and Brian Neff. Sharon K. and Tom Selner and their children, Andrea
(Paul) Amor, Jeff (Quinn) Selner and Mark Selner. Twelve great-grandchildren complete her
immediate family.
Also surviving are Jean’s two sisters; Judy (Dale) McCollough of Bourbon and Danice (David)
Harding of Middlebury, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were her parents and stepfather, Ben Gilley, a sister, Marlene Kay Holem
and a brother, Richard Belt.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Services will be held in the funeral home Friday, Dec. 9
at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Justin Chambers, pastor of New Song Community Church.
Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband Richard at the New Oakhill cemetery in Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Marshall County Historical Museum, 123 N. Michigan Street,
Plymouth, IN 46563.
Service arrangements are incomplete at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home in Plymouth.

Rosemary Mae Ehret
BREMEN -- Rosemary Mae Ehret, 88, of Bremen, passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at her
residence. She was born Nov. 11, 1923 in Bremen to Arthur and Buelah (Biehl) Bauer. She
married Stanley D. Ehret May 11, 1946 in Bremen. He preceded her in death July 15, 1981.
Rosemary was a homemaker and worked at Ristance Wire. She was a member of the Bremen
United Methodist Church and graduated from Bremen High School where she participated in the
band.
She is survived by four daughters; Sherry (Kim) BonDurant, Kay (Jerry) Dalton, Connie (Marty)
Huber, and Bonnie (John) Stoller, all of Bremen, eight grandchildren; Scott and Michelle
BonDurant of Bremen, Michael and Erika Leman of Bremen, Lindsey Huber of Carmel, Mitchel
Huber of Chicago, Nate and Allison Bogunia of Bremen, Michael and Niki Stoller of Corona Del
Mar, Calif., Joseph Stoller of Bremen, and Kathryn Stoller of Chicago, nine great-grandchildren;
Thad and Cole BonDurant, Matthew Bogunia, Samantha (Jason) Quintanilla, Alexandra and
Wyatt Gordy, Carter, Chloe and William Leman, two great-great grandchildren; Jorge Louis
Quintanilla and Ryan Unsicker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers; Richard and Paul.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011 at the Bremen United Methodist Church
with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Bremen cemetery.
Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bremen United Methodist Church or Community Hospital of Bremen.
The Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald Deith Rettinger
PLYMOUTH -- Donald Keith Rettinger, 86, of 625 Oakhill Ave., Plymouth, formerly of Bourbon,
passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at 11:28 a.m. in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home.
Donald was born the son of Joe Herman Rettinger and Cecile Gottschalk Rettinger May 13,
1925 at Bourbon. He was a lifelong resident of the Bourbon area and spent several winters in the
Haines City, Fla. area. Don was a graduate of Bourbon High School class of 1943.
He married Vonna Mae Summers, Dec. 31, 1946, she survives along with their children Mary
Eloise and husband Byron Smith and Hugh and wife Karin Rettinger all of Bourbon. Also
surviving are his six grandchildren; Leon, Mark and Anna Smith and Summer and husband Scott
Steenburg, Weston and wife Gretchen Rettinger and William Rettinger, two great-grandchildren
Sophia Steenburg and Isabelle Rettinger and a brother Herman and wife Evelyn Rettinger of
Bourbon.
He was a retired farmer who had farmed for many years with his brother and father. Don was
also very active serving four terms on the Triton School Board, serving on the District Board of
Directors of Northern Indiana Church of the Brethren, a past Trustee of Timbercrest at North
Manchester, served on the Board of Director of the Federal Land Bank, a member of Farm
Bureau and Future Farmers of America and 4-H.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Church
of the Brethren 5699 10th Road, Bourbon, IN 46504.
Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren with Pastors Guy
Biddle and Doug Archer officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Bourbon.
The family requests memorial contributions are made to Heifer Project International.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements.
