PLYMOUTH — Phillip E. Martin, 72, of Culver, died at 7:26 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberley (Javier) Mendez of Plymouth; a granddaughter; ex-wife
Shirley DeBow; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at Welsey United Methodist Church,
Culver.

Samuel T. Unsicker
BREMEN — Samuel T. Unsicker, 94, of Bremen, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at the LuAnn Nursing
Home, Nappanee.
He is survived by a daughter, Kim Unsicker of Ft. Myers, Fla. Funeral services were held in Ft.
Myers, Fla.
Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 S.R. 331, Bremen, was entrusted with local arrangements.
Bill G. Griffis
BURKET — Bill G. Griffis, 72, of Burket, died at 1:50 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Audrey Griffis; son, Brad (Judy) Griffis of Mentone; four grandchildren;
11 great grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Larry) Boggs of Warsaw and a brother, Bob Griffis of
Claypool.
In accordance to Bill and his family’s request, a private family Celebration of Life will take place
at a later date.
Burial will follow at Summit Chapel cemetery, Bourbon.
King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St. Mentone, was entrusted with arrangements.

Shirley Rager
CULVER — Shirley Rager, 63, of Culver, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at home,
surrounded by her family.
She is survived by daughter Nicole (Joseph) Dilts of Culver; sister, Marjorie Schenone of Calif.;
and three grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the the donor's local March of Dimes or to the Easter Seals.

Craig William Crow
ROCHESTER — Craig William Crow, 40, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 at his residence.
Craig was born in Rochester March 9, 1969 to Carl William and Sheila Fish Crow.
Craig was a proud graduate of Plymouth High School with the class of 1987. He was currently a
dedicated employee of Bremen Castings, Bremen. His memberships included St. Joseph
Catholic Church, a charter member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #36, and the
Fraternal Order of the Eagles #852, all of Rochester.
As a Notre Dame football fan, Craig looked forward to the autumn days when the Fighting Irish
took to the field. He also attended several N.D. Ice hockey games. Craig amassed a collection of
memorabilia with dominant themes of Star Wars and Star Trek. His favorite gift from the
Christmas holiday was a programmable mechanic robot. He had programmed it bring him his
favorite beverage while watching TV.
An avid reader, Craig most enjoyed the works of James Patterson. As a Trekee, he also enjoyed
books on Star Trek, Star Wars and other fiction and mysteries. Craig was a collector hundreds
of comic books, many of them vintage.
A lover of animals, Craig once rescued a handsome feline domestic long-haired cat he named
Romeo. They shared their home till the passing of Romeo to Rainbow Bridge last year.
Craig is survived by his mother and step-father, Sheila and Greg Shepherd of Rochester; father
and step-mother, William "Bill" and Nancy Crow of Plymouth; a sister, Angie (Mike) Cook of
Portage, Mich.; special family members, Sherri Bahney of Rochester and her children: Jessica,
Chantel and Connar; step-sisters: Kathy (Bryan) Miller of Kewanna, Lynn (Danny) Studebaker of
South Whitley, Leesa (Steve) Metzger of Claypool; step-brothers, William Plummer of Kewanna
and Robert Plummer of Kewanna; 15 nieces and nephews: Zachary and Cassie Cook, Jacob,
Kaitlyn and Joshua Miller, Seth and Brent Studebaker, Lauren, Sarah, Kayla and Kelsey
Metzger, Hannah Plummer, Jerry, Gary and Blake Plummer and numerous aunts, uncles and
cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and Romeo, his feline companion, a domestic
longhaired.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6 and one hour prior to the
services at the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St. Rochester.
A celebration of the life of Craig Crow will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7 at the funeral home
with Father Bert Woolson officiating.
Interment will follow the service at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos
Memorials may be made in his name to St. Jude Children' s Research Hospital.
Helen Klinerman Stackhouse
WARSAW — Helen Klingerman Stackhouse, 84, of Warsaw, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010 in
Parkview Hospital of Ft. Wayne of an illness.
She is survived by her three children: Kay (Larry) Feldman of Bourbon, Terry (Vicky) Klingerman
of Portland, Or. and David (Sharon) Klingerman of Palm Bay, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren;
and sisters, Sue Lange and Alice Donovan, both of Warsaw.
There will be no visitation or services at this time.
Burial will be at a later date in the Etna Green cemetery at Etna Green.

Sally M. Snyder
PLYMOUTH — Sally M. Snyder, 80, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 in her home.
She is survived by daughters, Lynda Prade of Koontz Lake and Jane Corsette of California; her
friend and companion, Bill Morris of Plymouth; sister, Dianne Allen of LaPorte; and seven
grandchildren.
There will be no services or visitation.

MISHAWAKA — Teddy Allen Byers, 70, of Mishawaka, formerly of Plymouth and Culver, died at
6:19 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend following a brief illness.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Sue Byers of South Bend; a granddaughter; and
brothers, Jim Byers of Union Mills, and Charlie Byers of Plymouth.
Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8 at the Earl-Grossman Funeral
Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Funeral services will take place Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Tippecanoe cemetery, Tippecanoe.

WARSAW — Fred E. Maust, 78, of Warsaw, formerly of Nappanee, died at 2:05 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010 at Warsaw Meadows.
He is survived by a son, Shane (Shanna) Maust of Milford; sisters: Patricia (Phil) Hochstetler of
Nappanee, Gertrude Gerkey of Decatur, Mich., Audrey (William) Warren of Elkhart and Beverly
Morris of Elkhart; and brothers, William F. Maust of Nappanee and Tim (Darlene) Maust of
Dunlap.
Cremation will take place.
Private family services will be held at Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
Inurnment will be in the South Union cemetery at a later date.

Bernadine N. Rightley
PLYMOUTH — Bernadine N. Rightley, 91, of Plymouth, passed away at 2:45 a.m., Tuesday,
Jan. 5, 2010, at the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center, in Donaldson.
Bernadine was born July 15, 1918, in Holton, Kansas, to Ralph and Margaret (Nugent) Neal. She
taught school in the Plymouth and Argos areas for 35 years. Ernest Rightley and Bernadine were
married
, in Plymouth at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Aug. 18, 1963. Bernadine was a member
of Saint Michael Catholic Church.
Bernadine is survived by her husband, Ernest Rightley of Plymouth; several nieces; and several
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Scott Neal, Leonard Neal, and Victor Neal.
Memorials may be given to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to Saint Michael
Catholic Church.

SMITHSBURG, Md. — Ralph E. Wolfe, 92, of Hagerstown, Md., formerly of Walkerton, died
Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra Wolfe of Winchester, Va.; a son, Stephen (Susan) Wolfe;
five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
