Donald Lynn Milner
MARTINSVILE, Ind. — Donald Lynn Milner, 81, of Martinsville, formerly of Culver, passed away
Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010 of natural causes.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Culver, to John Milton and Estella Mae (Hoff) Milner, both of
whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Milner of Martinsville; a sister, Imogene Clifton of Culver;
sons, John Michael Milner of Rolling Prairie, Michael D. Mote of Martinsville and Steve Mote of
Columbus; daughters, Pamela S. Howdeshell of Rochester and Marcia Drost of Columbus;
grandchildren: Michael T. Mote of Fort Knox, Ky., Cassie Mote of Columbus, Emily Mote of
Martinsville, Jarrod Milner of South Bend, Dana Milner of St. Joseph, Mich., Cory Zent of Fishers
and Stacey Allen of Noblesville; brother-in-law Kermeth Cochran of Springfield, Ohio; sister-inlaw
Holly Aguilar of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brother-in-law Charles Clifton of Culver and son-in-law Mark
Howdeshell of Rochester.
Also left to cherish his memory are many great friends, neighbors and co-workers. Donald will be
greatly missed by all who knew him.
Donald retired from Independence Concrete of Columbus, Ohio in 2007 after more than 30
years and moved to Martinsville to be closer to his family.
A memorial service will be held in Culver as well as Martinsville at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mark Howdeshell Memorial Scholarship Fund, in
care of Northern Indiana Community Foundation, P.O. Box 807, Rochester, IN, 46975, or to the
charity of the donor’s choice.

Beulah Maxine Severns-Myers
PLYMOUTH — Beulah Maxine Severns-Myers, 88, died at 9:34 a.m. Monday Jan. 25, 2010 at
St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Born July 20, 1921, Maxine was the daughter of Thomas and Pearl Shoemaker Boyer. She
graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1939.
In 1939, she and Herbert D. Severns were married and moved to South Bend. Herbert died of
Leukemia in 1955 while employed with the South Bend Police Department.
Eleven years after Herbert’s death, on Aug. 27, 1966, Maxine and A. Eldon Myers were married
and moved to a farm east of Plymouth. Eldon passed away in 1993.
Maxine was a member of the F.O.P. Auxiliary, the Moose, Eastern Star and North Central
Cattleman’s Association. Maxine was a caring and loving mother and a proud grandmother, she
enjoyed square dancing and working on the farm and in the yard.
She is survived by three children: Sandra (Terry) Krantz of Phoenix, Ariz.; Dennis (Jeannie)
Severns of Merritt Island, Fla.: and Frederick Severns, of West Palm Beach, Fla. Three stepchildren
survive as well.
They are Ellen (Jerry) Hummel of Walkerton, Tom (Kris) Myers, of Plymouth and Nancy Myers of
South Bend. She is also survived by four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
They are grandchildren: Shelly (Jack) Paul of Phoenix, Ariz.; Capt. Denise
Severns of Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, Col.; Bryant Severns of Merritt Island, Fla.; Chris
(Erin) Severns of Indianapolis; Amanda (Brian) Bettag of Lafayette; Betsy (Nick) Loeks of
Kalamazoo, Mich.; Daniel Hummel of Walkerton; Courtney Myers of Chicago, Ill; and Libby (Tim
Keogh) Scott of Lawerence, Kan.
The four great-grandchildren are Camden Bettag, Brody Bettag, Rhea Scott, and Kansey Keogh.
Also surviving are two nieces, Claudia Bailey and Sharon Sipes, and former daughter-in-law and
good friend, Kathy Karczewski.
Maxine was preceded in death by her two husbands, Herbert and Eldon; her parents; two sisters,
Willodean Myers and Ethel Boyer; and three brothers: Arthur Boyer, Everett Boyer, and David
Boyer.
A grandson, Corporal Scott Severns, an officer with the South Bend Police Department, has also
preceded Maxine in death. He lost his life during a failed robbery attempt April 23, 2006.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Maxine with her family Thursday, Jan. 28, from 4
to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Maxine will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the funeral home. The
Reverend Mike Dixon, pastor of Tyner United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. Joe Valley cemetery in South Bend.
Memorial gifts in Maxine’s memory may be made to the Scott Severns’ Memorial Fund, in care

M. Evone Humes
CULVER — M. Evone Humes, 79, of Culver, died at 3:58 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010 in Culver.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Clifford) Slusher of Macy; a sister, Pauline Hoover of
Winamac; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28 at Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Kenneth Griswold
PLYMOUTH — Kenneth Griswold, 87, of Plymouth, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at Miller's
Merry Manor, Plymouth.
He is survived by a son, Barry Griswold of Plymouth; a daughter, Carol Housouer of Rochester;
a daughter-in-law, Judy Griswold; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Mishler Funeral Home, 2030
S.R. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at Bremen Church of the Brethren.
Burial with military honors will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hope for Warriors Program, PMB 48, 1335 Suite E.,
Western Blvd., Jacksonville, N.C., 28546.

Douglas John Ruff
PLYMOUTH – Douglas John Ruff, 40, of Carmel, Ind., passed away there Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010.
He was born June 18, 1969, in Plymouth, the son of David A. and Alice M. (Newberg) Ruff, who
survive.
He was married to Teresa Ijams of Clinton, Ill., in 2000. They have one daughter, Sydney
Christine.
Doug graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of 1987 and played drums in the
band. He graduated from Ball State Univer-sity, Muncie, in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Exercise Science. He was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity.
Doug first began working in the fitness industry in 1985 while still in high school, and continued
his devotion to fitness sciences throughout his life. He served his internship in Phase II and
Phase III cardiac rehabilitation at Kennestone Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. He also assisted with the
development of a corporate fitness facility for Lockheed International.
In 1993, Doug returned to Indianapolis to work in the orthopaedic industry fabricating and fitting
various orthopaedic devices. He began working independently as a personal trainer in the
Indianapolis area and founded the Fitness Clinic of Indianapolis in 1996. The Fitness Clinic is
one of the largest private training facilities in Indianapolis. In addition, the Fitness Clinic
expanded its services to include facility management and employee programming for several
Indianapolis based corporations including St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital, Brightpoint North
America, Kite Realty Group and St. Vincent Carmel Hospital.
Doug had a passion for music and enjoyed playing his guitar. Other hobbies included riding his
motorbike, snow skiing and, especially, fishing.
Doug is also survived by his sister, Dawn (Ruff) Hooker of Plymouth; brother, David A. Jr., of
South Bend; grandmother, Dorothy Newberg Reaker of Plymouth; along with many other family
members and friends who loved him, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milton O. Newberg and John F. and Mildred C. Ruff.
Visitation will be held at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel
from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, with services at 3 p.m.
Visitation will continue at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street,
Plymouth, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, followed by a Remembrance Service at 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts in honor of Doug will be welcomed for the Sydney Ruff Education Fund at First
Source Bank, Plymouth.

Johnny Dale Dohner
ARGOS — Johnny Dale Dohner, 54, of Argos, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at his residence, of
natural causes.
He is survived by his wife Pamela; a daughter, Jessica (Adam) Sliter of Plymouth; sons,
Christopher Dohner of Argos and John Dohner of Fort Leonardwood, Mo.; mother, Donna
Dohner; sisters, Tammy Dudley of Oklahoma and Diane Canode of Gas City; brothers, Tom
Dohner of Argos and Bill Dohner of Oklahoma; and two granddaughters.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m Monday, Feb. 1 at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home,
1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Cindy L. Geiger
CULVER — Cindy L. Geiger, 62, of Culver, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical
Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband Michael; daughter Lori (Jon) Frettinger of Bluffton; son, Jamie
Geiger of Lakeland, Fla.; brother, Rodney Kemple; sisters: Karen Coby of Rochester, Mary Ann
Rowe of Culver, and Judy Fisher of Plymouth; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. (EDT) at the funeral home. Burial will be
private.

Donald W. Triplet
PLYMOUTH — Donald W. Triplet, 80, of 8087 Rose Road, Plymouth, Ind. passed away at 4:20
p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at his home.
Don was born May 9, 1929, in Marshall County to Floyd and Lavina (Rosebaum) Triplet. He
married Wanda Voris Oct. 7, 1949, in the Salem Church.
Wanda passed away Dec. 24, 2000, after sharing 51 years of marriage together.
Don was the owner of Triplet Construction and Masonry. He retired from Plymouth L.P. Gas,
Corporation, where he delivered propane gas. He was a member of the Union Church of the
Brethren. Don’s greatest pleasure came from being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather.
Don is survived by his daughters, Karen and Dick Stettler of Plymouth and Connie and Frank
Harrell of Argos; his son, Rich and Rhonda Triplet of Bremen; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren;
and his sisters, Rose Meadows of Bourbon, and Irene Listenberger of Culver.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Roy Triplet, Robert Triplet, and Alvin Triplet.

Anna C. Blanchard
PLYMOUTH – Anna C. Blanchard, 88, passed away at the Cook Lake home of her daughter, at
1:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, of natural causes.
Formerly of Hammond, Ind. she has made Plymouth her home for the past 14 years and for the
past year has resided in the comfort and care of the Catherine Kasper Life Center at Donaldson
with her many friends. Anna was born in Elmo, Mo. Oct. 22, 1921, the daughter of John Westley
and Sarah Elizabeth (Littlepage) Cauhorn.
On Oct. 14, 1939, in Missouri, she became the bride of Fairl F. Blanchard. He preceded her in
death July 3, 1985.
She was an attending member of the Community Church of God – LaPaz. Her love for her
Savior Jesus was foremost in the nurturing life she led. A favorite past-time was fishing.
Anna was a homemaker and proud mother of three daughters. They are: Ella Elizabeth (Robert)
Cobb of New Port Richey, Fla., Carolyn Ann (Jerry)Wall of Plymouth, and Darlene Regina
(Michael) Terbrak of Cobden, Ill.
Her grandchildren include: Dwane Wall of Knox, Jerry Dean Wall of Milford and Robert Cobb Jr.
of Valparaiso, along with six great-grandchildren. A sister; Ruby Atherton of Jackson, Mo. also
survives.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, Plymouth.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) Wednesday, Feb. 3 in the Anna City
cemetery, Anna, Ill. The Rev. Allen Speer of the First Baptist Church, Cobden, Ill. will officiate.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S. Center St.,
Plymouth, IN, 46563.
