Wayne C. Brocksmith
PLYMOUTH – Wayne C. Brocksmith, 95, a lifetime resident of Plymouth, died in the Bremen
Health Care Center at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010.
Wayne was born in Plymouth March 31, 1914. He was the son of Alfred and Dora (South)
Brocksmith.
He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1932. In high school he played on the
basketball team and continued playing after graduation on various industrial leagues. On April 7,
1939, Wayne and Helen Dillman were married in Delphi, Ind. Helen died May 7, 1995.
Wayne worked for Schlosser Brothers/Hawthorn Mellody for 44 years. He was plant manager for
a number of years, retiring in 1976.
He loved to fish and watch sports on TV, especially the Chicago Cubs. He also enjoyed company
of his brothers going to horse races in Chicago.
Wayne is survived by a daughter, Judy K. and son-in-law, Gary Shively of Bremen. He has two
grandchildren, Kristi K. and Todd Hawkins of South Bend, and Steve L. and Holli Shively of
Bremen.
Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews survive as well.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen; a sister, Anna Brocksmith; and four
brothers: Bernard, Stanley, Henry and Herbert; as well as one nephew, Bernie.
Friends are invited to share memories of Wayne with his family from 11 a.m. until the time of
services Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St.,
Plymouth.
Masonic services by the Plymouth Masonic Lodge #149, of which Wayne was a 50-year
member, will be held at 12:45 p.m., with funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Tom Padberg
immediately following.
Memorial gifts in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Cancer Society.
Entombment will be in New Oakhill cemetery.

Mary M. Kneeland
WARSAW — Mary M. Kneeland, 92, died at 11:53 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at Kosciusko
Community Hospital, Warsaw.
Mary was born July 25, 1917, at home, in Atwood, to Justin Day Irwin and Cathern (Wolf) Irwin.
She married Warren R. Kneeland, March 11, 1936 in Atwood.
She was a lifetime resident of Atwood and worked as a teacher, cook and secretary for Atwood
School, Atwood. Mary was a 1935 graduate of Atwood High School, Atwood; a member of
Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, where she taught Sunday School and was Sunday
School Superintendent; a member of the Home Ec Club, Atwood; and was a Past Matron and 50-
year member of the Bourbon Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a son, Justin (Maris) Kneeland of Dewey, Ill.; daughters, Maureen (Michael)
Pfeiffer of Rochester and Cathy (Royce) Lenfestey of Warsaw; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren R. Kneeland, Jan. 3, 1986; two brothers,
Joseph M. Irwin, April 9, 1993; and Milton “Zeke” Irwin, Sept. 10, 2007.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Titus Funeral Home,
Warsaw, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church.
An Order of the Eastern Star Service will take place Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral
home. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at Otterbein United
Methodist Church, Atwood, with Pastor Jerry Thomas of the Otterbein United Methodist Church,
Atwood officiating.
Burial will follow at Stony Point cemetery, Atwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 306 E. Main St.,
Atwood, IN, 46502.

Virginia Fern Weaver
NAPPANEE — Virginia Fern Weaver, 90, of Nappanee, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010 at Elkhart
General Hospital after an extended illness.
She is survived by her children: Charles A (Shirley) Weaver, Dolores Culp, Donald Weaver,
Devon (Pat) Weaver, James (Diane) Weaver, Dixie Roeder and Connie Thomas, all of
Nappanee and Carol (Jerry) Sherk of Gladewater, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren;
17 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria Jones of Louisville, Ala.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Church of God.
Burial will take place at Union Center cemetery, Nappanee.

Janice Lee
PLYMOUTH – Janice Lee, 84, died at home at 8:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010
Janice was born Aug. 15, 1925 in Mishawaka. She was the daughter of Earl and Lorena Ethel
Shafer Lee.
She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Science Degree in June of 1961.
Janice taught 12 years in Portage and four years in Culver — 16 years altogether.
Janice has been involved over the years at Plymouth Wesleyan Church in Children’s Church,
Youth President, and Vacation Bible School Teacher.
She was the Missionary Society’s President, Vice President. and Treasurer at one time and
Assistant Teacher of Berean Class. Janice was the assistant Dean for Women at Indiana
Wesleyan, was Treasurer for the Missionary Project Committee, Secretary of International
Relations Club, President of Foreign Missions Fellowship and involved with the Student
Education Association.
Janice is survived by two sisters, June (Clifford) Martin of Elkhart, and Lorena Snyder of
Plymouth. Ten nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a three-month-old baby brother, Charles Raymond
Lee; two sisters, Laura Robinson and Helen Bunch; along with a brother-in-law, Roy Snyder.
Friends are invited to share memories with Janice’s family Thursday Feb. 4, 2010 from 10 a.m.
to 12 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Services officiated by Rev. John Branch, pastor of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church where Janice
was a member, will be held immediately following visitation at noon in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Janice has requested that memorial contributions be given in her name to the
Plymouth Wesleyan Church for Missionaries 11203 S. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
Burial will follow in the Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Sara Kathleen Susits
PLYMOUTH — Sara Kathleen Susits, 94, of Plymouth, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010
at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth, following a lengthy illness.
She is survived by sons, William (Hilda) Susits of Alabama and Fabian (Candy) Susits of
Lakeville; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
There are no services planned at this time.
Burial will take place at a later date at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N. Meridian St., Suite
B-4, Indianapolis, IN, 46209.
Arrangements were entrusted with Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.

Peggy Jean Weiss
ROCHESTER — Peggy Jean Weiss, 65, of Rochester, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010
while in the company of family members at her residence.
She is survived by her husband Terry; her mother, Lauretta Stoner of Cromwell; daughters, Jacki
Weiss of Mishawaka and Jodi Weiss of Rochester; a son, Brian Weiss of Rochester; three
grandchildren; a sister, Penny (Dave) Limerick of Ligonier; and brothers, Ted (Becky) Stoner of
Syracuse and Jerry (Amy) Stoner of Ligonier.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, and one hour prior to services Friday.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.

Wilma E. (Bachert) Benson
WINAMAC — Wilma E. (Bachert) Benson, 86, of Winamac, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at
Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by sons, Gerald Benson of Lafayette and Wayne Benson of North Judson; a
daughter, Sandra Dietrich of Indianapolis; sisters, Ida Finkbiner of Culver and Dorothy Pitts of
Knox; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at O'Donnell Funeral Home, Inc., North Judson.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Highland cemetery.

Marsha D. Dennison
TAYLORSVILLE, Ky. – Marsha D. Dennison, 75, of Taylorsville, Ky., formerly of Plymouth, was
killed in a vehicular accident at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010.
She is survived by a daughter, H. Regina Alexander; a son, Merle A. Heath; 11 grandchildren;
28 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Bucky Manuel.
Services will be held at a later date in Graceland cemetery, Claypool.
Memorial contributions in Marsha’s name may be given to the family.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, was entrusted with arrangements.

Arline Constance "Connie" Felix
DENVER, Colo. — Arline Constance “Connie” Felix, age 88, 290 South Monaco Parkway,
Denver, Colo., 80224, #117, formerly of Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at
Manor Care Nursing Home in Denver, Colo., after a three-month illness.
Connie was born Oct. 5, 1921, in La Crosse, Wis., to Arthur and Isabelle (Major) Hickisch. She
graduated from La Crosse Central High School, in the Class of 1939.
Connie proudly served her country in the United States Army during WWII. She served as Tec 5
in WAC, 15th WAC Hospital Co. Connie received the Good Conduct Medal for service Oct. 18,
1941. She was Honorably Discharged Oct. 25, 1946.
Keith G. Felix and Connie Hickisch were married Oct. 12, 1947, in La Crosse, Wis. Connie was
a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, in Plymouth, where she served as president of the
Women’s Guild (LWML), was a member of the choir, and a Sunday School Teacher. She played
a key role in helping to organize a Braille Printing Center at the Calvary Lutheran Church. The
members print the bible, in Braille, in Tamil, Tagalog, Indonesian, and English.
Connie served as president of the Friendly 30 Homemakers Extension Club, in Plymouth. She
sang in the Marshall County Chorus, promoted the publication of “Women of History in Marshall
County”, was a member of Business and Professional Women’s Club (BPW), and also clerked
in local stores, in Plymouth, for more than 10 years.
Connie and Keith Felix lived in Plymouth from 1947 until October of 2007, at which time they
moved to Denver, Colo. to an assisted living home, to be closer to their son, Keith G. Felix, II,
and family.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Keith G. Felix; their daughter, Patricia Sue
Calvert and her husband Jeffery Calvert of Orlando, Fla.; their sons, Keith G. Felix, II and his
wife Nancy Felix of Lakewood, Colo. and Kevin J. Felix and his wife Kristie Felix; Connie’s
grandchildren: Jason (Laura) Felix, Joshua (Jill) Felix, and Justin (Rachael) Felix all of Denver,
Colo., and Jacob Felix; her step-grandsons: James (Andrea) Parker of North Carolina and Paul
(Rhonda) Parker of Plymouth; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Drusilla Linnell of Palatine Ill.;
and her sister-in-law, Rosemary Hickisch of La Cresent, Minn.
Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Major Hickisch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to: Calvary Lutheran Braille Workers.

Claudene Stone
GROVERTOWN — Claudene Stone, 86, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at her son’s home in Grovertown.
She is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Fuchs of LaPaz; sons: Bobby (Julie) Stone of Plymouth,
Dude (Brenda) Stone and Roger (Darlene) Stone, all of Grovertown, and Kerry (Roxanne) Stone
of Hamlet; sisters: Joetta Maddox of Central City, Ky., Dorothy Piper of Texas and Shelby
Puckett of Culver; a brother, Bobby Shemwell of Central City, Ky.; 18 grandchildren and many
great and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (Central Time) Sunday, Feb. 14 at Rannells Funeral
Home, Hamlet Chapel and from 11 a.m. to the time of services Monday.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Grovertown cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The House of the Lord Food Pantry, 16493 Lincoln Hwy,
Plymouth, IN, 46563.
