LOSANTVILLE — Alpheus C. Snyder, 98, of Losantville, formerly of Argos, died at 5:24 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010 in Bradenton, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Millie Snyder; a daughter, Jo (Richard) Schaden and of Tallahassee,
Fla.; a son, Marvin (Nyla) Snyder of Argos; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five
great-great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law: Ken, Jim and Bill Adams.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 at the United Methodist
Church, 570 N. Michigan St., Argos., and one hour prior to the services Wednesday.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the church.
Memorials contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, was entrusted with arrangements.

Raymond V. Williams
WARSAW — Raymond V. Williams, 77, o f Warsaw, formerly of Royal Center and Nappanee,
died at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Helen; step-daughter Donna (Marty) Graff of Nappanee; three step grandchildren;
eight step-great-grandchildren; brothers: Stanley Williams, Donald Williams, and
Jack Williams, all of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Merle Williams of Lafayette; and sisters: Mabel
Kogler, Lucille Dyke, Ruby Williams, and Mary Robinson, all of Grand Rapids.
A family gathering will be held at a later date.
Cremation will take place at a later date.
Elkhart Cremation Services, 2100 W. Franklin St., Elkhart, was entrusted with arrangements.

Dennis L. Greer
CULVER — Dennis L. Greer, 59, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 in Starke Memorial Hospital,
Knox, after a sudden illness.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Dennise Honeymann of Omaha, Neb. and Kristina
Greer of Culver; sons, Dennis L. (Karrie) Greer Jr. of Knox and Jeffery (Melanie) Greer of Yuma,
Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; a step-son, Charles Braasch of LaPorte; four sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. (Central Time) Wednesday, Feb. 17 at Rannells
Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, and from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Arleen Johnson Reese
PLYMOUTH — Mrs. Arleen Johnson Reese, 70, of Plymouth, (formerly of Michigan City) went to
be with our Lord and Savior Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
She was born Feb. 4, 1940 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Frank Johnson and Katherine (Fry)
Johnson.
Arleen was a homemaker; in her early years she worked in downtown Chicago for Zerick Ins.
Co. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Plymouth.
Arleen was a 1958 graduate of Elston High School in Michigan City. She enjoyed the theater,
playing golf, music and spending time with her grandchildren.
On November 1, 1987, in Lake Tahoe, Nev., she married Kent Reese, who survives.
She is also survived by her two daughters, Maria (Mark) Lemert of Plymouth and Michelle (Dan)
Sommers of Plymouth; one son, Michael (Kim) Beiter of Indianapolis; step-daughter, Marla Flora
of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; an identical twin sister, Kathleen (Warren) Johnson Attar of La
Porte; one brother, Tom (Dorothy) Dreyer of LaPorte; devoted niece and nephews, Mary Attar
Gaines, Steve Attar, and Joe Attar; and her entire extended family.
Arleen was preceded in death by her parents: Frank Johnson and Katherine and Chester Dreyer.
Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, where
the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday, Feb.18, 2010.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Father Ian Williams officiating.
Entombment will follow at the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City.

Ruby F. Arneson
BREMEN — Ruby F. Arneson, 83, of Bremen, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at the Community
Hospital of Bremen.
She is survived by daughters, Theresa Arneson of Joliet, Ill. and Beth (Greg) Balka of Bremen;
sons, Douglas (Kathy) Arneson of Highland, Calif. and Eric Arneson of Mishawaka; six
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Virginia Amos of Nashville, Tenn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry c/o St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen.
Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 S.R. 331, Bremen, was entrusted with arrangements.

Judith E. Barker
ROCHESTER — Judith E. Barker, 60, of Rochester, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband, Don; a daughter, Michelle (Scott) Runkel Karst of Madison; a
son, Michael (Amanda) Runklel of Valley Grove, Ala.; five grandchildren; sisters: Debbie
(Michael) Self of Fairview, Ala., Donna Coley of Cullman, Ala., Denise Parker (Donald Ray) of
Valley Grove, Ala. and Robin Strickland of Madison, Ala.; and a brother: Robert (Debbie) Coley
Jr. of Walter, Ala.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 and one hour prior to the service Thursday at
Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County or Friends of Fulton County Parks.

Melva J. Burgh
PLYMOUTH — Melva J. Burgh, 84, of 805 Baker Street, #44, Plymouth, passed away Monday,
Feb. 15, 2010, at 7:37 p.m., at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Melva was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Warsaw, to John and Maudie (Weirick) Lackey.
George Beryl Burgh and Melva Lackey were united in marriage Oct. 7, 1947. Beryl passed away
May 14, 1972. Melva and Beryl ran a floral shop, from their home, during the summer.
The shop was located on Rex Street in Plymouth. Melva enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and
fishing. She loved spending time with her family.
She was a proud grandmother and attended, as many as she could, of her grandson’s special
events. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Plymouth.
Melva is survived by her daughters, Debra (Craig) Downing of Charlestown, and Sonya (Bruce)
Hamilton of Fort Wayne; her sister, Sue Kilmurry of Portage; her grandsons, Ryan (Casey)
Downing of Sellersburg, Tyler Downing of Sellersburg, Riley Hamilton of Fort Wayne, and Jordan
Hamilton of Fort Wayne.

Margaret J. DeMyer
WALKERTON – Margaret J. DeMyer of Walkerton, passed away at 12:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15,
2010 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Mrs. DeMyer was born, May 30, 1916, in Walkerton, to the late Lloyd and Dora (Freed)
Knowlton. She had remained a lifelong area resident.
On Nov. 2, 1936, in Chicago, Ill., she married Arthur L. DeMyer, who preceded her in death May
19, 1976. Mrs. DeMyer was also preceded in death by her precious baby daughter Janice; two
sisters, Freda Ross and Writhe Hostetler; and four brothers: Howard, Harold, Russ and Dean
Knowlton.
Mrs. DeMyer was a homemaker and for many years worked part time as a typesetter at the
Walkerton Independent News. She spent many winters in Lake Placid, Fla. where she enjoyed
golf, friends and the warm weather. She was a member of Walkerton United Methodist Church.
Mrs. DeMyer is survived by one son, Craig (Kathy) DeMyer of Plymouth; two granddaughters,
Alyssa (Phil) Summers of Fort Wayne, and Ashley DeMyer of Indianapolis; and four step grandchildren:
Chris, Jessica, Samuel and Joely.
She loved spending time with her three great-grandchildren: Cameron Summers, Jaiden
Alexander and Josalyn Hollar. She is also survived by one brother, Kenneth (Sarah) Knowlton of
Morgantown, W.V.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Rannells
Funeral Home, Koontz Lake, and one hour prior to services at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. (EST) Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Walkerton United
Methodist Church. Pastor Char Allen will officiate.
Graveside services and burial will follow at Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton.

Judy A. Roby
PLYMOUTH — Judy A. Roby, 60, of Culver, died at 5:58 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at St.
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a sudden illness.
She was born Jan. 10, 1950 in Anderson to Carl and Betty (Wilson) Livingston. She graduated
from Highland High School in Anderson in 1968 and married Stephen G. Roby Aug. 17, 1968 in
Anderson.
Judy lived in Fulton County and the Culver community since 1987 coming from Alexandria, Ind.
She worked for the Pulaski County Journal for several years and she and her husband were
actively involved at the Culver Farmer’s Market; and the following associations: Midwest Drovers,
Sweet Sorghum Growers, and Michiana Bee Keepers.
She is survived by her husband Stephen; daughter, Rene Burton of Kewanna; granddaughter,
Felicia of Kewanna; mother, Betty King of Anderson; sisters, Diana Scott of Fortville and Carol
Gerard of Anderson; and a brother, Dan Livingston of Mount Summit.
She was preceded in death by her father, and daughter, Amanda Roby.
Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Leiters Ford cemetery,
Leiters Ford with the Pastor Bill Guerin of Living Water in Winamac.
Burial will follow at Leiters Ford cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon
Road, Kanab, Utah, 84741-5000.

Russell Looney
SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ill. — Russell Looney, 56, of Sleepy Hollow, Ill. died Feb. 17, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Laura; daughter, Hannah Looney, Chicago; and son, Petty Officer
Michael Looney of the U.S. Coast Guard in Cheboygan, Mich.

Edward C. Rhodes
WALKERTON — Edward C. Rhodes, 75, of Walkerton, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17,
2010 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
He is survived by a son, Mark Rhodes of South Riding, Va.; a daughter, Dawn Rhodes, United
States Navy, in Okinawa, Japan; a sister, Helen McCarty of Grovertown; and three
grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. (Eastern Time) Sunday, Feb. 21 at Rannells Funeral
Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton with military graveside services.

Maxine M. Todd
CULVER — Maxine M. Todd, 66, of Culver, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at
Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by her husband Dennis; a son, two daughters, four grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church,
Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Woodlawn Hospital Oncology Dept. or Hope Hospice.
Odom Funeral Home, Culver, was entrusted with arrangements.

Gloria Ann Andrews
ROCHESTER — Gloria Ann Andrews, 58, of Rochester, died at 1:13 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18,
2010 at her residence.
She is survived by her husband David; a son, David Andrews II of Rochester; one grandson; a
brother, Roger (Salina) Rouch of Fulton, father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Janet Andrews of
Fulton; an aunt; and two cousins.
Visitation will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
