LOGANSPORT — Rylan Leon Emery Bixler-Stuart, four months, of Logansport, died at 12:07
p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.
He is survived by his mother, Sabrina Bixler and companion James Upp; his father, Brandon
Stuart; maternal grandparents: Christina Miller and Rodney Talbott, and Troy and Kristi Bixler;
paternal grandparents: Tracy and Gary Stuart, and Nelson and Kathy Cox; and uncles: Jace
Bixler, Caden Bixler, Aaron Stuart, and Daren Miller all from Rochester.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral
home. Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery’s Babyland.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children, Condolences may be sent to

Janet Sue Loucks
BERRIEN SPRINGS, Mich. — Janet Sue Loucks, 60, of Berrien Center, died Friday evening,
Feb. 19, 2010, at her home, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; sons: Jeremy (Lori) Loucks of Niles, Mich., Jason (Cheli)
Loucks of Madison, Wisc., and Joshua Loucks of Berrien Center, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; a
former foster grandchild, Travion; and a sister, Linda Ann Strait of Ft. Wayne.
Visitation will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Allred Funeral Home
in Berrien Springs, Mich.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Berrien Springs Village
Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Claudia Ann Pippenger
LEESBURG — Claudia Ann Pippenger, 60, of Leesburg, died early Saturday morning, Feb. 20,
2010, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she had been three days.
She is survived by her husband Richard; children, Matthew Pippenger and Penny (John) Foster,
both of Indianapolis, and Richard (Amy) Pippenger, Jr. of Glenwood, Md.; seven grandchildren;
brothers, Bruce (Nancy) Yoder of Goshen and Kim Yoder of Elkhart; half-sister, Pam Nelson of
Detroit, Mich.; step-sister, Kris (John) Delcamp of Goshen; and half-brother, Ron Nelson of
Mishawaka.
Visitation will take place from 12 to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home,
Goshen.
Funeral services will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the
funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mabel M. Taylor
HAMLET — Mabel M. Taylor, 91, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Walkerton.
She is survived by a son, Lloyd Taylor of Hamlet; a sister, Helen Borton of New Carlisle; and
extended family, Nancy Bolze, Brandon Shilling, Tiffany Shilling, Samantha Personette and
Dakota, Bryce and Nevaeh Zander.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. (CST) Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Rannells Funeral Home,
Hamlet Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Burial will take place at a later date at Fletcher cemetery.

Lester W. Zillmer
EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Lester W. Zillmer, 98, of Edwardsburg, formerly of Bremen, died
Sunday, Feb. 21 at Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, after an extended illness.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Mayhew Funeral Home,
Edwardsburg.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at
Bremen cemetery.

Charles Junior Barts
BREMEN — Charles Junior Barts, 88, of Bremen, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at the
Bremen Health Care Center.
He is wife survived by his wife Thelma of Bremen; son, Wayne Barts of New Albany, Ohio; and
sister, Elnora Zeiger of Osceola .
Visitation will take place from 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the
Bremen cemetery with graveside military services. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Salvation Army or to the Community Hospital of Bremen.

Brian P. Giudice
SOUTH BEND — Brian P. Giudice, 38, of South Bend, died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 in Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Elaine (Lamb) Giudice of Culver; a sister, Christine
(Tim) Worden of Plainfield, Ill.; a brother, Giovanni Karakatsanis-Swarts of South Bend; and
girlfriend, Tracey Freed of South Bend.
There will be no services or visitation.
Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services, South Bend, were
entrusted with arrangements.

Marilyn Louise Ruiz
NAPPANEE — Marilyn Louise Ruiz, 54, of Nappanee, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, 2010
at her daughter’s home in South Bend.
She is survived by her husband Ronald; daughters, Shanna (Kenny) Griggs of South Bend and
Stacy (Dan Kern) Cowles, of Etna Green; son Kenny Cowles of South Bend; step-daughter,
Angela (Dwayne) Schultz of Rensselaer; and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at Thompson-Lengacher
& Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow a Island Chapel cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee.

Candy S. Bonnell
PLYMOUTH — Candy S. Bonnell, 44, of 818 W. Madison St., Plymouth, passed away at 2:20
p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Knox.
Candy was born Feb. 26, 1965, in Plymouth, to John and Patricia (Hatfield) Hardesty.
Candy is survived by her daughters; Shannell Bonnell of Monticello and Brittany Bonnell of
Lafayette; her sons Josh Bonnell of Monticello and Cody Bonnell, who is serving in the military;
her sisters, Connie (James) Lawton of Talma, Karen (Adam) Leazenby of Kewanna, and Cindy
Price of Men-tone; her brother, John (Bonnie) Hardesty of Plymouth; three grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
Candy was preceded in death by her parents.
Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN, 46563, is in charge of the arrangements.
No services are being planned at this time.

George L. Kendall
LAKEVILLE — George L. Kendall, 74, of Lakeville, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24,
2010 at his home.
He is survived by daughters: Karen (Al) Molnar of Bristol, Lori (Jeremy Scott) Skoviak of South
Bend, Diane (Norman) Northcutt of South Bend, and Mary Mark of Lakeville; 11 grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren; the mother of his children, Patricia Britton of South Bend; a sister,
Margaret Peterson of California; and brothers, Richard Kendall of Lakeville and Lawson Kendall
of Hawaii.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2 at Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S.
Michigan Street, Lakeville.
Funeral services will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Emma C. Hepler
PLYMOUTH — Emma C. Hepler, 93, a 64-year resident of 817 N. Center St., died of natural
causes at her home at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010
Emma was born the daughter of Oscar W. and Nellie P. Duddleson Zechiel in Culver Nov. 17,
1916. She was a graduate with the 1933 Class at Culver High School.
On June 25, 1941 Emma took Clarence F. Hepler as her husband, they first met at a dance in
Plymouth. Clarence preceded her in death May 17, 1991, less than a month before their 50th
wedding anniversary.
Emma was proud to have worked at Culver Academies for nine years as a secretary and was a
wonderful homemaker. Emma was known throughout the area for her employment of nearly 25
years with the popular F. W. Bosworth Store, from 1967 until its closing and continued working in
women’s fashion at Treats For Her until her retirement in 1998.
She truly enjoyed gardening, shopping, and baking; especially apple pies. She loved her family
and spending time and traveling with them, she was always there for whatever they might have
needed. She was a strong minded woman who never let her age hold her back. Like many in her
generation, she would tune in to the Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune on a daily basis.
Emma is survived by two daughters, Joyce E. Elder of Indianapolis and Debbie L. Haeck of
Plymouth; three grandsons: Nathan and Faithe Haeck of Loganville, Ga., Andy and Lisa Haeck
of Osceola and Brad Haeck of Plymouth; and two great-granddaughters, Anna and Emma
Haeck. A sister, Marcella White of Culver, and brother-in-law Jack Overmyer of Pittsfield, Mass.
survive as well.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister Mildred Ditmire, and brothers Alvin
and Zina George Zechiel.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday March 1, in the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Visitation will continue one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service in the Sunrise Chapel 11802 Lincoln
Highway, Plymouth, Rev. Rustin Krapfl will officiate.
Burial will follow in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions in Emma’s name may be given to the Center For Hospice & Palliative
Care, 112 S. Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563 or the Marshall County Humane Society, P.O. Box
22, Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Florence Arlene Wood
ROCHESTER — Florence Arlene Wood, 94, of Rochester, died at 8:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at Hickory Creek.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Ernest) Hiatt of Rochester; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren;
one great-great-grandson; and sisters: Marjorie Miller, Patricia Lamb and Barbara
Clark, all of Rochester.
Private services will be held.
Burial will be at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County or to the Grace United
Methodist Church, Rochester.

Todd D. George
NAPPANEE — Todd D. George, 47, of Nappanee, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at Methodist
South Lake Hospital, Merillville after an extended illness.
He is survived by his father, Dennis (Sandy) George of Nappanee; sister Tracey Clarke of
Syracuse; and brother, Terry George of Nappanee.
Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 1 at Stony Point cemetery, Nappanee.
Memorials may be made to the Huntington's Disease Foundation.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, was entrusted with arrangements.

Ezra, Jr. Reinhard
BLUFFTON, Ind. — Ezra Reinhard Jr., 84, of Bluffton, died at 3:23 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010.
He was born June 11, 1925 in Weiis County and married Doris Clauss June 27, 1954 in Bremen.
She preceded him in death July 9, 1987.
Reinhard was a lifelong farmer and member of the Apostolic Christian Church.
He is survived by three sons: Wayne (Susan) Reinhard, Jerry (Jodi) Reinhard, and Tony
Reinhard all of Bluffton; a daughter, Mona Reinhard of Schaumburg, Ill; eight grandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mildred Badiac of Fort Wayne, Betty (Carl) Macklin of
Ossian, and Aldulla Pulver and Edna (William Gene) Moser, all of Bluffton; two brothers, James
(Ruth) Reinhard of Bluffton and Daniel (Delores) Reinhard of Remington; and sisters-in-law,
Jeanie Clauss and Martha Hershberger, both of Bourbon.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Harry Reinhard, Dale Reinhard, and Kenneth
Reinhard; and two sisters, Loretta Reinhard and Rose Reinhard.
Calling will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6 and from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7 at
the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton.
Additional calling will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 8 a the Apostolic Christian
Church East.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Church cemetery, Bluffton.
Preferred memorials are to the Kingdom Academy.
