SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Jean Gregory Osborn, 91, formerly of Culver, died May 14, 2010, in
Salt Lake City, Utah.
She is survived by her son, William Gregory Osborn; daughters, Dr. Anne Osborn of Poelman,
Md. and Dr. Lucy Morin of Osborn, Md.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3 at the Wesley United Methodist
Church, Culver.
Funeral services will take place a 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is assisting the family with arrangements.
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Jean Gregory Osborn, 91, of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter of
William Garrison Gregory and Ann Estelle Ziph Gregory, died May 14, 2010.
She was born May 15, 1918 in St. Joseph, Mo. She was a graduate of Northwestern University
and married Ralph Anderson Osborn, Jr. Aug. 17, 1940.
She lived most of her adult life in the small community of Culver, Ind., and resided in Salt Lake
City the past 13 years. She was known for her quick wit, genuine interest in other people, and
her courage and dignity in the face of increasing disability from multiple sclerosis.
She is survived by her three children: Anne Osborn of Poelman, Md., Lucy Morin of Osborn, Md.
and William Gregory Osborn; her six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held July 3, 2010 at the Wesley Methodist Church, Culver, Ind.
Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah, was entrusted with arrangements.

Helen H. Hoffer
WAKARUSA -- Helen H. Hoffer, 89, of Wakarusa, formerly of Nappanee, died at 5:53 p.m.
Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Elkhart Hospice House after a brief illness.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Randy) Weddle of Anchorage, Alaska; sons, Douglas
(Kim) Hoffer of Batavia, Ill. and David (Shirley) Hoffer of Goshen; three grandsons; and a sister,
Wilma (Joseph) Dunnuck of Fort Wayne.
There will be no visitation.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5 at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder
Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nappanee Public Library or the Center for Hospice
and Palliative Care.

Nita J. Wieringa
CULVER -- Nita J. Wieringa, 79, of Culver, died at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the St.
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by her husband William; sons, Larry (Cindy) and Chuck (Susie) Wieringa of
Knox; daughters, Mary (Michael) Guyse of Syracuse, and Connie (Ron) James of Ora; a sister,
Helen Brady of Watseka, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19 and one hour prior to services
Thursday at the Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20 at the funeral home. Burial will
follow at Culver Masonic cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Ada E. Babcock
BOURBON -- Mrs. Ada E. Babcock, age 91, a resident of Bourbon, peacefully passed away
Sunday morning, May 16, 2010 in the care of her daughter and family at her daughter’s home in
Bourbon.
Ada was born the daughter of Robert O. Jones and Mary Miller Jones July 16, 1918 in rural
Marshall County, Ind. She had been a resident of Bourbon all her life and wintered in Fort Myers
and Avon Park, Fla. with her husband.
She and her husband were the co-owners of the Red Door Restaurant in Bourbon during its
existence. She was a member of the Bourbon American Legion Auxiliary of Post #424 and
attended the Bourbon First United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed knitting and painting
pictures.
Ada married Noble L. Babcock May 19, 1935; he passed away Dec. 30, 2002. She is survived by
her daughter, Sherry and husband Thomas Sell of Bourbon. She was also blessed with six
grandchildren: Susan Sauer of Plymouth, Deb Fulton of Bourbon, Jeff Thompson of Claypool,
Tony Sell and Terry Sell both of Bourbon, and Cindy Sherrier of Florida, along with 13 great
grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was further blessed with her two sisters, Bonnie Whittenberger of Nappanee and Rosalie
Fisher of New Haven, Ind.
She was preceded in death by an infant son.
A celebration of Ada’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 21 in the Deaton-Clemens
Funeral Home with Rev. Mark A. Day and Rev. Mark Cottrill officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home,
115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
Burial will be in Etna Green cemetery at Etna Green, Ind.
The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Fulton County Hope Hospice in
her memory.
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Harold Zane Munn
PLYMOUTH -- Harold Zane Munn, 77, of 18871 6th Road, Plymouth, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 in St. Joseph
Medical Center, Mishawaka.
He was a lifelong resident of Marshall County.
He was born Nov. 28, 1932 to Rolland and Florence VanPherson Munn in Plymouth. Harold was
a graduate of Tyner High School with the class of 1950. After graduation he helped out on the
family farm. Harold enlisted Feb. 13, 1953 in the United States Army and he was a veteran of the
Korean Conflict.
He was honorably discharged Dec. 28, 1954. Feb. 15, 1957 in the North Liberty Methodist
Church, Harold married Dorothy Albright.
After returning from military service Harold started working as a machinist for Wheelabrator –
Frye in South Bend for 31 years until the company went out of business. Harold then worked for
Bomarko in Plymouth for seven years before retiring.
Harold enjoyed reading, fishing and after retirement he and Dorothy enjoyed traveling, especially
to Branson, Mo.
He was a member of the American Legion and the Blissville Church of the Brethren.
Harold is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy; and two sons, Douglas Munn and Jeffrey
(Shaunn) Munn, both of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother and sister-in-law, Stephen Wayne and
Marian Munn.
Friends are invited to meet with Harold’s family and celebrate his life Wednesday, May 19, from
3 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Harold will be held in the funeral home Thursday, May 20 at 11 a.m. with
Rev. Paul Nye officiating.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Plymouth
American Legion and VFW.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Billie Eugene Strang
NAPPANEE -- Billie Eugene “Bill” Strang, 75, of Nappanee, died at 4:47 a.m. Sunday, May 16,
2010 at his residence after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife Eleanor; a daughter, Deb (Dan) Truex of Nappanee; a son, Rick
(Amy) Strang of Nappanee; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his mother, Hilda May
Strang of Nappanee; and a brother, Robert J. “Bob” (Carol) Strang of Syracuse.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 and one hour prior to services
Wednesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 at the First Brethren Church,
Nappanee.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Brethren Church, Nappanee or Elkhart Hospice
House.

Duane E. Ganshorn
WARSAW -- Duane E. Ganshorn, 57, of Warsaw, died at 8:38 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at
Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born April 12, 1953, in Elkhart to Earl Ganshorn and June (Watkins) Ganshorn. He
graduated from Triton High School, Bourbon, with the Class of 1972.
He married Brenda Hudson, Nov. 27, 1987 in Plymouth and has lived in Warsaw since 2001
when the couple moved from Nappanee.
Duane was a Rolltender/Inkman at RR Donnelley and Sons Co., Warsaw, for 30 years. He was
a member of New Life Christian Church, Warsaw and enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles and
time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Brenda; stepdaughter Brenda “Denise” (Haywood) Harrison of Argos;
two stepsons, Donald Brent (Heather) Shepherd of Hollister, Calif. and Odis Jack (Shelia)
Shepherd of Plymouth; his mother, June Ganshorn of Etna Green; three brothers: Ronald (Lois)
Ganshorn of Nappanee, Terry Ganshorn and companion, Barbara Drudge of Warsaw, and Tim
(Jayne) Ganshorn of Etna Green; and seven grandchildren: Desireé Gilbert, Benjamin Gilbert,
Latisha Shepherd, Casondra Shepherd, Jack Shepherd, Dalton Shepherd and Zachary
Shepherd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Ganshorn.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19 at Titus Funeral Home,
2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 20 at the New Life Christian Church,
744 S. 325 E, Warsaw, IN, 46580 with Pastor John B. Lowe, officiating.
Burial will follow at Mentone cemetery, Mentone.
Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Christian Church.

James N. McLaughlin
ARGOS -- James “Jim” N. McLaughlin, 67, of S.R. 10, Argos, IN, passed away at 9:10 a.m.,
Monday, May 17, 2010, at the Elkhart Hospice House, Elkhart.
Jim was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Scranton, Penn., to Louis and Rose (Beal) McLaughlin. He was a
graduate of Plymouth High School in the Class of 1961.
On June 18, 1966, Jim married the former Judy Goodwin, in Muncie. Jim owned and operated
The Video Place, in Plymouth, from 1983 to 1998.
He also was a disc jockey for Plymouth’s WTCA Radio Station, hosting the program, “Mac’s
Flashbacks.”
Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his wife, Judy
McLaughlin; his daughter, Ellen Peterson of Nebraska; two sons, Chris McLaughlin of Argos and
J.C. McLaughlin of Mishawaka; and his sister, Janis Keller of Farmington, Mich.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Debbie McLaughlin.

Lovina Hostetler Miller
NAPPANEE -- Lovina Hostetler Miller, 89, of Nappanee, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, May 17,
2010 at her residence after a brief illness.
She is survived by her daughters: Carol (Ervin) Schwartz of Nappanee, Rosemary (Menno)
Schwartz of Nappanee, and Sara Miller of Nappanee; a son, Isaac (Ruth Ann) Miller of Manton,
Mich.; 25 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Sarah (Joe) Chupp of
Nappanee and Laura (Perry) Miller of Middlebury.
Visitation will take place after 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 and all day Wednesday, May 19 at the
Menno Schwartz residence at 30211 C.R. 56.
Funeral services will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20 at the residence. Burial will follow
at Weldy cemetery. Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Homes was entrusted with
arrangements.

Opal J. Coleman
ROCHESTER -- Opal J. Coleman, 70, of Rochester, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
She is survived by daughters: Penny Wilburn of Rochester, Dorothy (Steven) Stoner of Sparta,
Tenn. and Cindy Coleman of Rochester; a son, Robert (Linda) Coleman of Lake Station, Ind.;
seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20 and one hour prior to services Friday
at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery, west of Rochester.

Lloyd Ellis Schwarzlose
MICHIGAN CITY -- Lloyd Ellis Schwarzlose, 99, of Michigan City, formerly of Knox, died
Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
He is survived by his children: Ronald (Juanita) Schwarzlose of Olney, Ill., Gene (Linda)
Schwarzlose of Olney, Ill., Wilma (Ray) Hewlett of Knox, Sharon (Jim) McCay of Michigan City,
and Marcey (Don) Jernas of Tippecanoe; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven
great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. (CDT) Friday, May 21 at M.C. Smith Funeral Home,
153 E. Washington St., Knox.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Round Lake cemetery, Knox.
