Evelyn L. Turnage
Plymouth - Evelyn L. Turnage, 90 of Plymouth, passed away at 5:06 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22,
2010, in Hospice House, Elkhart. She was born June 12, 1920 in New Providence, Tenn. to
William Finis and Bessie (Cayce) Brown.
Mrs. Turnage is survived by three daughters: Beatrice (Dave) Tompkins of Salem, Ore., Dorothy
Heinlein of Plymouth, and Martha Hall of South Bend; four sons: Baker (Mary) Gee of South
Bend, Melvin (Carole) Gee of North Liberty, Raymond (Maria) Humphries of Plymouth, and Ernie
(Sheila) Turnage of Plymouth; 31 grandchildren; and multiple great and great great
grandchildren. Ssurvived by two brothers, James Ralph Ballard of Louisville, Kentucky and
Marvin Sowell of Portage.
Three grandchildren and four brothers, William, Ed, Lawrence, and Robert Brown preceded her
in death.
Mrs. Turnage spent most of her life in the Plymouth area.
Funeral services will be heldat 11 a.m. Friday, August 27, in the Palmer funeral home, 314 S.
Michigan St., Lakeville. Rev Charles Johnston will officiate.
Burial will follow in Fair cemetery, North liberty.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Evelyn L Turnage may be offered to the Hospice
House, 22579 old US 20 E., Elkhart, IB, 46516.

Gene Blucker
Nappanee - Gene Blucker, 69, of Nappanee died at 11:45 p.m. Monday, August 23, 2010 at
Goshen General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter, Teri Huber of Nappanee; a son, Dean (Julie) Blicker
of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren one great-grandson; brothers, Dale (Pat) Blucker and
Lonnie (Connie) Blucker, both of Nappanee; and his mother, Mary Blucker of Wakarusa. will
take place from two to four and six to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26 and one hour prior to services
Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder funeral home 950 N. Main St., Nappanee.
Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, August 27 at North Main Mennonite Church,
Nappanee.
Burial will follow at Yellow Creek cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Disaster Service.

Charles Penn
Plymouth - Charles Penn, 74, of Plymouth, formally of Bourbon, died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Aug.
23, 2010 at Miller's Mary Manor.
He is survived by his brother, John (Barbara) Penn of Tippecanoe.
Graveside services will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 26 at the Pleasant Hill cemetery,
north of Bourbon.
Deaton-Clemens Bourbon, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy Brumbaugh
Nappanee - Dorothy Brumbaugh, 92, formerly of Nappanee, died Tuesday, August 24 at
Greencroft Healthcare.
Survivors include her son: Sam (Mary Lou) Brumbaugh of Goshen, daughter Nancy (Darrell)
Thornton of Plainfield, grandson Todd Thornton of Bremen and Granddaughter Missy (Tim)
Risser of Goshen, and from three great-grandchildren.
Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Thompson- Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Wakarusa.
Services are Friday, August 27 at 11 a.m. at Turkey Creek of the Brethren, where memorials
may be made out to, with the Rev Roger Eberly officiating.
Burial will be at New Paris cemetery.

Lawrence R. Kasson
Knox - Lawrence R. "Larry" Kasson, 77, of Knox died August 24, 2010.
He is survived by his wife Florence; daughters, Donna stealy of Culver, Doreen Buczek of
Burbank, Ill., Sharon Koterrer of Orland Hills, Ill., Nancy Miller of Burbank, Ill., and Theresa Kilma
of Naples, Fla; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will take place at M.C. Smith Funeral Home, Knox from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27,
with a rosary service at 4 p.m.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic
Church, Knox.
Interment will be private.
Memorials may be made to theKnox VFW Women's Auxiiary.

Dale R. "Snowman" Milner
Hamlet - Dale R. "Snowman" Milner, 40, Hamlet, formerly of Plymouth, died Tuesday, Aug 24,
2010 in his home.
He is survived by his father, Timer Milner of Hamlet; one brother, Phil (Chris) Milner of Hamlet;
and one niece.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. (CT) Thursday, Aug 26 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday,
Aug 27 at Rannells Funeral Homne, Hamlet Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Fletcher cemetery, Hamlet.
Memorial contributions may be given to the funearl home.

Deborah D. O'Dell
Walkerton - Deborah D. O'Dell, 61, died Tuesday, Aug 24, 2010 in Plymouth.
She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Brad) George of Walkerton; four grandchildren; her
mother, Edwina Dillon of Bremen; sisters, Donna Gisler of Logansport and Diane Reese of
Plymouth; and brothers: Derry Dillon of Warsaw, Bill Dillon of Kingsford Heights and Joel Dillon
of Lake of the Woods.
Visitation will take place from noon to 2 p.m. (EST) Saturday, Aug 28, 2010 at Rannells Funeral
Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery, Walkerton.

Phyllis Jean Whisnant
MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Phyllis Jean Whisnant, 84, of Maryville, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010 at
Blount Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; sons, Lewis (Sandy) Whisnant of Lenoir City, Tenn.,
Dwight Whisnant of Bradenton, Fla., and Glen (Joyce) Whisnant of Alabama; daughters, Linda
(Tim) Studabaker of Boulder, Colo. And Carol Whisnant of Lakewood, Colo.; seven
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and cousins.
Visitation took place from 1 to 2 p.. Saturday, Aug. 28 at Smith Trinity Chapel, Maryville.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Aug. 28 at the funeral chapel.

Betty M. Baldauf
PLYMOUTH -- Betty M. Baldauf, 79, of 12078 South Rose Road, Plymouth, passed away at
6:59 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at Elkhart Hospice House in Elkhart.
Betty is survived by her sons, David (Elaine) Baldauf of Lake Station, James (Debra) Baldauf of
Mississippi, and Joseph (Karla) Baldauf of Plymouth; her daughter, Kristine Merritt of Plymouth;
12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; her brother, Daniel L. Warner of Gary; her brother-inlaw,
William Bowman of Chicago Heights, Ill.; and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Baldauf of Lake Station.
Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Ply-mouth, has been entrusted with the
arrangements.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Glee McDonald
NAPPANEE -- Glee McDonald, 91, of Nappanee died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010 at Miller’s
Merry Manor, Wakarusa following an extended illness.
She is survived by: son, Larry Dean (Kay) McDonald of Milford; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren;
sisters, Hilda Strang, Nappanee; Cleo Brown, Nappanee; Phyllis (Robert) Blosser,
Nappanee; Dolores (Willard) Klotz, Nappanee; and June Ganshorn, Etna Green; brothers, Dale
(Mary Evelyn) Watkins, Etna Green; Ernie (Eleanor) Watkins, Bourbon; and Max (Eleanor) Watkins, Bourbon.
Visitation is Sunday, Aug. 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
Services will be Monday, Aug. 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of God, Nappanee.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of God or donor’s choice.

David R. Town
ELBURN, Ill. -- David R. Town, 52, of Elburn, Ill., passed away Aug. 25, 2010 in his home after
a two-year battle with cancer.
Dave was married May 30, 1992 in St. Charles to Donna McLaughlin Town who survives. Other
survivors include his parents, Bob and Dorothy Town of Bluffton, Ohio, formerly of Argos; sisters
Lorie Osinski of Glen Arbor, Mich., Robin (Paul) Miller and Rhonda (Chris) Wrenger of Bluffton,
Ohio; several nieces and nephews; aunts, Lena Coplen of Bourbon, Mary (Stan) Wilhelm of
Argos; and an uncle, Bill (Lu) Town of Bremen.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Orval and Jennie Town and Charles and Donnis
Fisher, and a nephew, Joshua Chidster.
Services were held Saturday, Aug. 28 at Yurs Funeral Home, St. Charles.

Clovia Andrews
PLYMOUTH -- Clovia D. Andrews, 73, of 905 Berkley St., Plymouth, passed away Thursday,
Aug. 26, 2010, at 8:30 p.m., in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Clovia was born Oct. 22, 1936, in Richland Center, Ind. to Leonard and Caroline (Reed) Dickson.
Clovia and H. Boyd Dunlap were united in marriage Feb. 14, 1954.
After their marriage they moved to Plymouth. Boyd passed away May 7, 1983.
She later married Thomas Andrews and was married to him until his passing.
Clovia worked at the Country Charm Cleaning Center, in Plymouth. She was a member of the
Women of the Moose Lodge #1355, in Plymouth.
Clovia is survived by her father, Leonard Dunlap of Plymouth; her sons, Leonard (Kristi) Dunlap
of Crown Point and James Dunlap and his friend Lina of Jones, Mich.; her adopted son, Thomas
Andrews Jr. of Fort Wayne; her sister, Leona and Harold Abair of Plymouth; her brother, Riley
(Edna) Dickson of Plymouth; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Kiggins of Argos and Mary (Charles)
Sanford of Paris, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Women of the Moose Lodge #1355.
VISITATION: MONDAY, AUGUST 30, 2010, 4 to 7 P.M.

Dr. Russel L. Heyde
Dr. Russell L. Heyde, of 3250 E. Wilcox Road, Warsaw, and a dentist in Warsaw for more than
50 years, passed away Aug. 26 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age of 81.
He was born April 4, 1929, in Kosciusko County to Forest Heyde and Frances (Knox) Heyde. On
Sept. 4, 1949, in Rochester he married Patricia Leckrone, who survives.
He was a former resident of Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1947. He
continued his studies and graduated in 1951 from Indiana University, and was a 1955 graduate
of the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Heyde was a member and past president of the Kosciusko County Dental Association, had
been an alternate delegate to several of the Indiana Dental Association's state conventions, and
served on various committees for the North Central Indiana Dental Association. He was also a
volunteer dentist at the Matthew 25 Clinic in Fort Wayne. He served in the U.S. Army and was
honorably discharged in 1957.
Dr. Heyde served on the Warsaw City Council and the city plan commission. He was a member
of Trinity United Methodist Church of Warsaw, where he served as president of the church's
board of trustees and was a member and president of its Endowment Trust Board. He was also
a delegate to several of the United Methodist Church's state conventions and participated in
dental mission trips to Haiti and Mexico. In addition, he was a member of the Warsaw School
Board for 8 1/2 years and served as president. He was also the first president of the Crime
Stoppers program in Kosciusko County, member and past president of the Warsaw Chamber of
Commerce, and longtime member of the Warsaw Rotary.
He was a longtime member of the Mizpah Shrine Temple at Fort Wayne, where he was a
member of its executive board and its minibike patrol. He was also a member and president of
the horse patrol unit, and was a longtime executive director of the annual Shrine Horse Show,
and served as chairman of the club's finance committee, and was a member of the Warsaw
Masonic Lodge No. 73, F. & A.M.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Heyde, Warsaw, and four
children, Rebecca A. (husband Edgar) Schaefer, Fort Wayne, and Lee L. (wife Dianne) Heyde,
Jane L. (husband Dan) Coplen, and Ann M. (husband John) Harman, all of Warsaw. Dr. Heyde
also leaves behind nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; one daughter-in-law, Cristi L. Heyde,
Greenwood; and two brothers, Jay Heyde and James Heyde, both of Rochester.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce L. Heyde; a nephew, David Sparks; and his parents.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with his funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at
Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, officiated by the Rev. Andy Martin
and the Rev. Lamar Imes. A Masonic ceremony will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. by the Warsaw
Masonic Lodge No. 73, F. & A.M. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery of Warsaw with military
rites conducted by the Indiana ARNG Honor Guard.
Preferred memorial donations in Dr. Heyde's name can be made to the following and would be
