KOONTZ LAKE -- Crew Krulik, 33, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 in Dickson, Tenn., due to a
pedestrian/automobile accident.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela of Walkerton; sisters, Carrie (Todd) Botset of Koontz Lake
and Cammie Krulik of South Bend; brothers: Chris (Marla) Krulik of Knox, Curtiss (Lisa) Krulik of
Bremen, and Cory Krulik and Casey Krulik, both of Walkerton; grandmother, Patricia Krulik of
Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from noon to 1 p.m. (Eastern Time)
Saturday, Sept. 18 at the United Pentecostal Church of Walkerton.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary I. Moore
ROCHESTER -- Mary I. Moore, 97, of Rochester, died at 10:15 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at
Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Moore of Rochester; son, Steve Moore of Rochester;
and three grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9 and from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday,
Sept. 10 at the good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1310 Main St.,
Rochester.
Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Health Care.

Lexie R. Shock
PLYMOUTH -- Lexie R. Shock, 1-year-old daughter of Mary Fullerton and Kyle Shock,
Plymouth, died at 7:27 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Riley Hospital for Children, Indianapolis.
She is survived by her parents, a brother, Coby Long; maternal grandparents, William and
Malena Fullerton; paternal grandparents, Roddy and Debbie Shock; several aunts, uncles and
cousins.
Visitation will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at the House of Prayer, 12450
Plymouth-Goshen Trail, Plymouth.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions will be
made to the family.

Helen J. Koebke
CULVER -- Helen J. Koebke, 107, of Noblesville, formerly of Culver, died Sept. 7, 2010 at
Harbour Manor Health and Living, Noblesville.
She is survived by daughters: Joan (Harvey) Campbell of Carmel, Marcella Lemler of Bradenton,
Fla., and Irene (Don) Ansel of Zionsville; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Graveside services will take place at 3:55 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13 at Culver Masonic cemetery.

Anne Irene (Pertics) McCollough
LAPAZ -- Anne Irene (Pertics) McCollough, died in the emergency room at South Bend
Memorial Hospital due to an accidental fire at her residence on U.S. 31 North of LaPaz, at 4:50
p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010.
Anne, 91, was born in Stillwell, Ind. Sept. 19, 1918. She was the daughter of Elias P. and Sophia
F. (Paidle) Pertics. She graduated from LaPaz High School with the class of 1937. July 8, 1939,
Anne and Clyde C. McCollough were married in LaPaz.
Married for almost 60 years, Clyde died Jan. 30, 1999.
During their time together, Clyde and Anne started McCollough Real Estate in 1978. Anne, a
homemaker, was receptionist for the business.
Anne enjoyed flower gardening and family gatherings. She was remembered for making
blueberry pies for any sick member of her family.
She had been involved in the LaPaz PTA, the Lions Club, and as a band booster. The couple
loved attending the school basketball games and following the coaching of their son David.
Anne’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren had special places in her heart and she was
interested and involved in their many activities.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons. Her daughters are: Patricia A. Flowers, South
Bend: Jane L. Schweisberger, Bremen: Judy E. (Ed) Keil, LaGrange and Kathy J. (Mike)
Spurling, Rolling Prairie.
Her sons are Terry C. McCollough, LaPaz: Larry O. (Ruth) McCollough, Plymouth: and David D.
(Brenda) McCollough, Noblesville.
Her grandchildren are: Blaine Schweisberger, Lynn Schweisberger, Ed Keil, Chris Keil, Jennifer
(Keil) Warrener, Quinn (McCollough) Selner, Michelle Waymouth, Barb Campbell, Nikki
Spurling, Eric Spurling, Kelsey (McCollough) Daubenmier, Kirk McCollough, Kiley McCollough,
Kaden McCollough, Keith Flowers; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Many nieces and nephews survive as well.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, her parents and two brothers, Emil E.
Pertics and Ernest R. Pertics. Also preceding her were, Gene Flowers, a son-in-law, and Angela
Wenino McCollough, a daughter-in-law.
Friends are invited to share memories and celebrate the life of Anne Friday, Sept. 10, from 3 to
8 p.m .(EST) at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Anne will be held at 11 a.m.(EST) Saturday, Sept. 11, in the funeral home.
Father Cornelius J. Ryan, CSC of Little Flower Catholic Church, South Bend, will officiate.
Burial will be in the New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Anne’s name be made the LaPaz
Fire/EMS P.O. Box 369, LaPaz, IN, 46537 or Center for Hospice Care 112 S. Center Street,
Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Dennis Taylor
ROCHESTER -- Dennis Taylor, 74, of Rochester, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 in
the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; daughters, Sally (Alan) Sterk and Sara (Ron) Kruger Akron; a
son, Samual (Jody) Taylor of Logansport; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and
sisters, Cheryl (Gary) Bowman of Plymouth and Nancy (Kevin) Bammerlin of Plymouth.
Graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept.10, at the Rochester IOOF cemetery
with military rites conducted by the LeRoy Shelton American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign
Wars. Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, assisted the family with arrangements.

Wayne K. Bessinger
TIPPECANOE -- After a courageous eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer, Wayne Kelsey
Bessinger passed away peacefully at his home in the loving care of his family Sept. 8, 2010.
Wayne Kelsey was born Aug. 14, 1931 in the family home to Rollie and Lydia (Eaglebarger)
Bessinger. He was the youngest of seven children: the twins, Fawn and Lavon, Evelyn,
Genevieve, Roy and Max. He attended Bourbon schools and graduated in 1949. He and his
father Rollie farmed together and had a dairy herd.
In March of 1953, Wayne gave up his draft deferment and joined the Army serving in the Korean
conflict. He returned home Christmas Eve of 1954 and resumed farming with his father.
Aug. 11, 1957 Wayne and Betty Ann Eby were married . They raised three children: Susan Kay,
Clint Rollie, and Kelly Ann. They lived in the home where Wayne was born and eventually
purchased the farm. They lived there until November of 1981 when they moved to their current
residence in Tippecanoe. Wayne bought this farm and developed a wildlife refuge. Wayne
practiced conservation farming and has received many awards over the years.
His church was very important to him. He has served faithfully in many capacities. He was a
member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon.
Wayne drove a school bus for the Triton School Corporation for 22 years.
Together, Wayne and Betty operated a bed and breakfast for 17 years. They have enjoyed their
retirement after many years of working together on the farm and the bed and breakfast. Wayne
and Betty have traveled and camped with their children and friends for many years.
Wayne loved to cook outside on a wood fire, which was a big part of their camping experiences.
They established a yearly tradition with their children and grandchildren and spent a weekend at
a state park of their choice. This was their Christmas gift to their children. Everyone thought this
was a very special time.
Wayne felt very fortunate to have a close relationship with all of his children and has enjoyed
being able to watch the grandchildren grow up. Susan and Clint both built homes on the refuge.
Kelly and her family live in Missouri and Wayne and Betty have felt blessed to be able to make
many memorable trips to visit. They usually planned their travel on the back roads and got to
know the state very well.
After Wayne developed his own wildlife refuge he became a part of the development of
Potawatomi Park. He became a director and loved seeing it grow and become the park it is
today. His last project at the park was working on the beautiful pavilion and seeing it completed.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Ann; his three children whom he loved and
admired very much: Susan and Tony Konkle, Clint and Melissa Bessinger (and their children
Jena and Marc Gould, Andrew Nelson and Jared Wayne, Hannah and Travis Bryant, Kelsey
Anna, and Jacob Clint), and Kelly and Randy Henkle (and their children Noah, Shauna, Chelsea,
and Chase; his sisters, Fawn Heisler, Evelyn Hall, and Genevieve Heckaman; and his brother,
Max and Jesse Bessinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rollie and Lydia; a grandson, Rollie Wayne Bessinger;
his sister, Lavon Stackhouse; his brother, Roy Bessinger; his brother-in-laws, John Heisler,
Lester Hall, and Lloyd Heckaman; and his special friend, Wayne Cripps.
In lieu of flowers, Wayne requested memorial contributions be made to the Bourbon First United
Methodist Church Men’s Group, the Potawatomi Wildlife Park, or the Bourbon Lion’s Club.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Bourbon First United Methodist
Church.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13 at the church with Rev. Stormy
Scherer-Berry and William Erwin officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill cemetery, Bourbon
Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, assisted the family with arrangements.

Floanna R. Swope
ROCHESTER -- Floanna R. Swope, 78, of Rochester, died at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8,
2010 at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
She is survived by a daughter, Frankie (Mel) Swango of Rochester; sons, Stephen Swope of
Rochester and Robert (Lisa) Swope of Rochester; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St. Rochester.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Rochester IOOF cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Creek of Rochester.

Jerry Watson
ROCHESTER -- Jerry Watson, 78, of Rochester, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept, 8, 2010
at her residence.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Gembecki of Sanford, Fla; a brother-in-law, Bill Smith of
Colorado Springs, Co.; a nephew; and a niece.
Graveside services will take place at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at the Rochester IOOF
cemetery.
Memorials contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 112 South Center St.,
Plymouth, IN. 46563.

Merna J. Krakowski
PLYMOUTH -- Merna J. Krakowski, age 77, of 11848 9A Road, Plymouth, passed away
Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at 3:10 p.m., at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Merna was born Nov. 17, 1932, in Ravenna, Neb., to Joe and Mary Siefret Schuller. Merna and
Benjamin J. Krakowski were married in Ravenna, May 4, 1954. They were blessed with four
children.
Ben, Merna, and family, moved to Plymouth in 1969, as owners of the Big Blue Store, until 1990.
Merna was a member of the Saint Michael Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to garage sales
and looking for a great bargain, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family and playing
with her grandchildren.
Merna is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Benjamin J. Krakowski; their daughter,
Roxanne (John) Christison of Plymouth; their sons, Mike L. (Cindy) Krakowski of Plymouth, and
Tim R. Krakowski of Plymouth; her grandchildren, Sheldy Christison and Rachel Christison; her
great-grandchild, Braeden Christison; her sisters, Grace Markus of Lexington, Neb. And Alice
O'Near of Colo.
Merna was preceded in death by her son, Dennis J. Krakowski; her sisters, Mary Schuller, Tony
Snyder, and Margie Butcher; and her brothers, Frank Schuller, and Lawrence Schuller.
Memorials may be given to:
Saint Michael Catholic School, 612 N. Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
