NAPPANEE — Dewey W. Eppley, 79, of Nappanee, died at 1:01 a.m. Wednesday, April 15,
2009 at Community Hospital of Bremen.
He is survived by his wife, Oma Eppley; sons: Rick (Jackie) Eppley of Dayton, Ohio, Steve
(Kathy) Eppley of Elkhart and Terry (Georgie) Eppley of Leesburg; four grandchildren; one great grandson;
and sister, Ruth Jo Eppley of Nappanee.
Visitation is Friday, April 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home,
Nappanee. Services are Saturday, April 18 at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church. Followed by
cremation, inurnment will be in Union Center cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church.

Eileen A. Tanner
MONTEREY — Eileen A. Tanner, 86, of Monterey, died at 3:52 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009 at
home in Monterey. Eileen was born to Jerome Hazlett and Ada Marsh on July 16, 1922 in North
Judson. She was married on July 27, 1940 at Rochester to E. Allen Tanner. He preceded her in
death on March 7, 1999.
She was a resident of Monterey since 1985, going there from Culver. She was a member of the
Bible Baptist Church in Knox, and a member of the Jolly 60's club at the church.
Eileen is survived by her sons: Ronald Tanner of Largo, Fla., George (Janice) Tanner of
Glendale, Ariz. And Jerry Tanner of Columbus, Ohio; daughters: Donna (Byron) Walters of Ora,
Eloise (Jeff) Rose of Minerva, Ohio, Diana (Harold) Fritter of Plymouth, Carolyn (Douglas)
Craddock of Warsaw and Jana (Rick) Richardson of Tippecanoe; brother, James Hazlett of
LaPorte; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters; one son; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home Sunday, April 19, 2009 from 4 to 7 p.m.
EDT. Services will take place at 10 a.m. CST Monday, April 20, 2009 at Bible Baptist Church,
Knox. Interment will follow at the Riverside Memorial cemetery in Monterey.
Memorials may be given to the Bible Baptist Church in Knox or the Center for Hospice and
Palliative Care. The Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.

Edwin L. "Bud" Tidd
ROCHESTER — Edwin L. “Bud” Tidd, 79, of Rochester, died Friday, April 17, 2009 at 4:50 p.m.
at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Shelbie Click Tidd; daughter, Melanie (Tom) Knueven of Avon; sons:
Edwin Jr. (Cindy) Tidd of Brownsburg and Ronald (Karen) Tidd of Huntington; three
grandchildren; four stepchildren: Kim (Ron) York of Kokomo, Karla (Mike) Hack of Peru, Kevin
(Geogetta) Livengood of Muncie and Kraig (Dara) Livengood of Mentone; and six step grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 23 at the Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Cecile I. Ullery
PLYMOUTH — Cecile I. Ullery, 94, of Parkview Street, Plymouth, passed away at 8 a.m. Friday,
April 17, 2009 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth.
Cecile was born March 26, 1915, in Bourbon Township, Ind., to Frank and Carrie (Goodyear)
Markley. Cecile and Raymond Ullery were united in marriage October 24, 1937, in Plymouth.
Together they raised their three children. Cecile graduated from Plymouth High School and Ball
State University in Muncie, Ind.
She was a teacher's aide in the JESSE program for many years. Cecile enjoyed fishing and
gardening, but mostly enjoyed her family, as well as being a member of the Plymouth Church of
the Brethren. Cecile is survived by her sons: Larry and Barb Ullery of Ohio and Randy and
JoAnn Ullery of Bremen; her daughter, Judy and Rod Miller of Plymouth; her grandson, Richard
and Dawn Ullery of Bremen; three granddaughters, Melinda and Kyle Hawkins of Bremen, Cari
Miller of Plymouth and Kenzie Miller of Plymouth; and six great-grandchildren.
Cecile was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Carrie Markley; her husband, Raymond
Ullery; her brother, Harold Markley; and her sister, Goldie Markley Kitch.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A time of visiting with the Ullery family will be Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Van Gilder Funeral
Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN, 46563, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday, April 21, 2009,
from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Plymouth Church of the Brethren, prior to the funeral.
Funeral services for Cecile will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Plymouth
Church of the Brethren, with the Rev. Paul Nye officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill
cemetery in Plymouth.
The family would like for memorial contributions be given to the Church of the Brethren, 1130 N.
Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.

M. Louise Clark
ROCHESTER — M. Louise Clark, 80, formerly of east 9th Street, Rochester, died at 4:30 a.m.
Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Life Care Center of Rochester, Ind.
She is survived by three sons: Ronald Clark of Port St. Lucia, Fla., Richard Clark of Rochester,
Ind., Kent Clark of Delong, Ind.; four brothers: Albert “Bud” Smith of Rochester, Ind., James
Smith of Aurora, Ill., Tom Smith of Newport Beach, Va. and Donald Smith of Wabash, Ind.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Rochester IOOF
cemetery.

Velma Rose (Samuels) Ottow
PLYMOUTH — Velma Rose (Samuels) Ottow, 75, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009, at St.
Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth, after a short illness.
Mrs. Ottow was born October 27, 1933 to Everett (Jack) and Goldia (Gross) Samuels in
Plymouth. She was a lifelong Plymouth resident.
She graduated from West High School as the Valedictorian of her class in May of 1951. In June
of 1951, in Donaldson, she married Charles Thomas Ottow.
Mrs. Ottow worked at Ancilla egg farm for many years until that operation closed. She was the
owner/operator of the FotoMat/FotoFinish store in Plymouth for more than 15 years until she
retired.
Mrs. Ottow is survived by her husband, Charles; four children: Ron of Knox, Kathy (Vince)
Sallee, of Knox, Va., (Barry) Beaman, of Carrollton, Ga. and Mike (Lisa) Ottow of Plymouth;
seven grandchildren: Brandon (Jessica) Ottow of Tenn., Nathan (Laura) Ottow of Indianapolis,
Derek Sallee of Knox, Heather Beaman of Ga., Monica (Derek) Monk of Ga., Garin (Michelle)
Ottow of Winamac and Whitney Ottow of Plymouth.
She also has four great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Caitlyn and Alexander Ottow, all of Winamac
and Aaronn Monk of Ga.
Mrs. Ottow came from a very large, loving family and is also survived by four sisters, two
brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. Dollie (Richard) Ketcham, Ethel Johnson, Cleo (Jr.)
Berger, Ruby Whiteman all of Plymouth and Margaret Dehne-Samuels of Culver and many
nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Ann Ottow; five brothers and
four sisters; Ernest, Albert, John, Tommy, and Ira Samuels, Stella Hagle, Lulu Patterson, Ruth
Murray, and Wanda Samuels.
Friends and family may come to show their love for Velma and her family Tuesday, April 21,
from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, Ind.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday, April 22, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ed
Hasnerl of Knox officiating.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions in memory of Velma may be made to The Center for Hospice and
Palliative Care, Inc.

Kathryn Naomi Reeve
WARSAW — Kathryn Naomi Reeve, 82, of Smith Street, Warsaw, died Saturday, April 18, 2009
at 1:37 a.m. at Mason’s Healthcare, Warsaw.
She was born January 3, 1927 in Chicago, to Walter and Louise (Rosenstiel) Colvin and was
married Dec. 3, 1946 to James Edward Reeve, who survives.
Kathryn was a homemaker, and was also a Surgical Tech at Murphy Medical Center in Warsaw.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 48 years, a member of Walnut Creek
United Methodist Church, Warsaw, a member of the American Legion Post #49 Auxiliary of
Warsaw; and the Moose Lodge #1423 Auxiliary of Warsaw.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Reeve of Warsaw; two sons: James (Sheri)
Reeve of Pierceton, Dennis (Shelly) Reeve of Warsaw; a daughter, Darlene (Jerry) DeTurk of
Warsaw; five grandchildren: Michael Reeve of Statesville, N.C., Scott Reeve of Houston, Texas,
Brian (Melanie) Reeve of Cary, N.C., Jennifer (Bill) Lehman of Warsaw and Matthew (Stephanie)
Reeve of Fishers; three great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dr. Irving Colvin of Orlando, Fla. and
Everett Colvin of Plymouth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Ben and Walter Colvin, Jr., one sister
Louise Hindman, and an infant sister.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Redpath-Fruth
Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Rd., Warsaw.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, April 22, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor
Jim MacDonald officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 922 E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, IN
46617, or to Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice, P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, IN, 46581-1196.

Virgil A. Sherer
WARSAW — Virgil A. Sherer, 95, of Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, died Saturday, April 18,
2009 at 7:10 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Dec. 3, 1913 in Marshall
County to Frank and Minnie (Casper) Shively. On Sept. 11, 1937, she married Harold Sherer,
who preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was involved with the Dorcas
Society. She was also a member of the Magazine Club, Salvation Army Auxiliary and was a
volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons: Robert (Elaine) Sherer of Valparaiso and Dr. Richard (Sandra)
Sherer of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Vera Shively; and one brother, Harold
Shively.
Visitation is Wednesday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. at
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Services are Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral
home. Pastor Ronnie Sams from the First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be at Oakhill
cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church or the Salvation Army.

Martha A. Thompson
PLYMOUTH — Martha A. Thompson, 69, died at her residence at 3:14 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009.
She had lived all of her life in the Plymouth, Rochester, Akron and Mentone areas. She was born
in Rochester, Ind., the daughter of Orlo M. and Alta Foor Brown, March 17, 1940.
She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1958.
In October of 1958, in Plymouth, she and Stuart Thompson were married . For more than 40
years, Martha was a tax accountant.
She loved to travel, especially on cruise ships. She enjoyed gardening and working outside.
She was a member of the Plymouth Family Moose Lodge.
Martha is survived by her two sons and their families: Carter (Amy) Thompson and children,
Victoria, Colin and Kelly, all of Plymouth and Carl (Cynthia) Thompson and children, Logan and
Heath of Mooresville, NC, and a sister, Sandra Kay (Larry) Garrison, Plymouth.
Jerry Wycoff, Plymouth, a very close friend of Martha’s and his daughter Sarah (Jon) Wicks, and
children, Devin, Christina and Jon of Coloma, Mich., survive as well.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Lane Thompson and a brother, Leroy E. Brown.
Friends are invited to visit with the family and share memories of Martha from 4 to 8 p.m.
Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 10 a.m. The Rev.
Dennis Wenzel, pastor of the Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate.
Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery, Rochester.
Memorial gifts in Martha’s memory may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.

Edna M. Wenzel
LAFAYETTE — Edna M. Wenzel, 92, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 in St. Mary Health Care
Center, Lafayette, Ind.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol Keehn of Battle Ground, Ind.; two sons: Ray Wenzel of
California and Roy Wenzel of Plymouth; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, April 22 from 10 a.m. (CDT) until the time of services at
Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Grovertown cemetery.
