Susan Baker-Fout
CULVER — Susan Baker-Fout, 50, of Culver, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Sept. 13, 2009 in St.
Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend.
Susan was born at home, one of six children born to Charles and Bea (Adams) Baker. Susan
graduated in 1976 from Culver Community High School.
She then attended Ancilla College for two years and went on to graduate from Ball State
University with a degree in computer management. Susan was a volunteer dispatcher for the
Culver-Union Township EMS for 12 years.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stiching, and communication with friends through her
computer. She loved all her nieces and nephews and collecting Precious Moments figurines.
Susan is survived by her mom, Bea Baker of Culver; sisters: Debra (Joe) Reinhold of Culver,
Vicki (Richard) Zehner of Monterey, and Julie (Roger) Romig of Culver; brother, Jim Baker of
Culver; nieces and nephews: Jill, Peyton, Priscilla, Allison, Abagayle, Tia, Ben, Adam, Tim,
Garret, Mike, Scott, Andy, Chris, Austin, Alex, and Owen.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Charles Baker; sister, Kelly Baker; and niece, Megan
Zehner.
A time of sharing memories with the family will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 2 to 8 p.m.
(EDT) at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver and at the church one hour before the service
on Thursday.
Rev. Ron Lewellen will officiate funeral services Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Emmanuel United
Methodist Church, Culver at 11 a.m. (EDT).
Burial will follow at the Burr Oak cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Susan's memory to the Culver-Union Township EMS.
The Bonine-Odom Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda P. Marsh
HAMLET-Wanda P. Marsh, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 in the home of her daughter in Augusta, Ga.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda K. Marsh of Augusta, Ga.; three sons: Walter Marsh of
Valparaiso, Gene Marsh of Encinitas, Calif. And Thomas Marsh of Woodridge, Ill.; four
grandchildren; four sisters: Alice Woodruff, JoAnn Metts and Glenda Weinkauff, all of Wanatah,
and Mallisa Dean Tarpley of Hardy, Ark.; and two brothers: Charles Beaty of Hardy, Ark. And
Thomas Beaty of LaPorte.
Visitation will take place Friday, Sept. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. (CDT) and Saturday one hour prior to
the service at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. (CDT) at the chapel.
Burial will be at the Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
Memorial contributions may be given to the hospice of choice.

Pauline Stanley
KOONTZ LAKE — Pauline Stanley, 89, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009 in Elkhart Hospice
House, Elkhart.
Mrs. Stanley was born February 27, 1920 in Fulton County, to Frank and Nellie (Hartman) Moore
and lived at Koontz Lake for 68 years, coming from Wabash.
On October 21, 1939 in Bargersville, she was married to Carl Stanley, who preceded her in
death in 1994.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Schenk, three brothers and three sisters
Survivors include two sons, Larry (Martha) Stanley of Chesterton, David (Donna) Stanley of
Koontz Lake; two daughters, Judy (Stan) Marks of Elkhart and Rita (Bryan) Black of Mesa, AZ;
12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stanley and her late husband, Carl, were the owners and operators of Stanley Marina at
Koontz Lake for many years. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge of Plymouth and
the Walkerton Women's Community Club.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. (Central Time) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz
Lake Chapel.
Burial will be at the Grovertown cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 1 p.m. CDT until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Koontz Lake Lions Club.

Angela M. Lattimer
BROWNSBURG — Angela M. Lattimer, 41, of Brownsburg, passed away Monday, Sept. 14, 2009.
She was a loving wife, mother, and daughter. She was preceded in death by her father Marvin
Bedwell.
Survivors include husband Scott Lattimer; children Erika Lackey, Alexa Lackey, Bret Lackey,
Sophie Lattimer, Brendan Lattimer, and Isabella Lattimer; and mother, Ruth Bedwell.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Matthews Mortuary, Inc., Brownsburg,
with visitation there from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
Burial will be at West Ridge Park cemetery. Contributions may be made to the IU Medical
Center Cancer Research Foundation.

Martha R. Miller
ROCHESTER — Martha R. Miller, 83, of Rochester died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 at 9:10 a.m. at
Clarian Arnett Hospital, Lafayette.
She is survived by her husband, Rev, Donald E. Miller; a daughter, Donna Ann Lancaster of San
Antonio, Texas; three sons: Larry (Tammy) Miller of Lafayette, Donald (Yolanda) Miller Jr. of
Rochester, and William (Donna) Miller of Zanesville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren
also survive; a sister, Esther Naomi Chris of Union, Ohio; a brother, Gene (Kaye)
Marshall of Whittier, Calif.; and a half brother, Ray Marshall of Frost Proof, Fla.
Visitation will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Good Family Funeral Home,
1200 W. 18th St., Rochester. Funeral services will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral
home. Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

William D. Sandoval
BREMEN — William D. Sandoval, 24, of Bremen, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Peni (Lawrence) Lippert of Bremen; sister, Toni Weaver of
Bremen; father, Isidro Sandoval Jr. of South Bend; paternal grandparents Isidro and Frances
Sandoval Sr. of Niles, Mich. And several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 State
Road 331, Bremen. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Roxanna M. Cummins
WEST CHESTER, OHIO — Roxanna M. Cummins, 47, of West Chester, Ohio, formerly of
Bremen, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 at Hospice of Cincinnati.
She is survived by her husband James; sons: Troy and Jamie Cook; daughters: Erin Chastain
and Jessica Cummins; two granddaughters; father, Bobby Cook of Elkhart; brothers: Rex Cook
of Nappanee, Tim Cook of Nappanee, Roy Cook of Tennessee, and Ron Cook of South Bend;
sisters: Twila Metz of Plymouth, Trudy Cook of Nappanee, and Rohanda Karnes of Mitchell.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at Mishler Funeral Home,
2030 S.R. 331, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place Friday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for funeral services.

Gregg A. Gough
NORTH VERNON — Gregg A. Gough, 69, and Marguerite C. Gough, 65, of North Vernon, died
Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, 2009 at their residence.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Vernon cemetery.
Born Nov. 18, 1939, in Putnam County, Indiana, Gregg was the son of the late John W. and
Mona M. Hobbs Gough. He later married Marguerite C. Hrabar.
Mr. Gough studied at the University of Connecticut and DePauw University where he received
the President's Music Scholarship. He received the John Phillips Sousa Band Award in high
school. He enjoyed music and played for churches, hospitals and nursing homes. He traveled
the country with the Boston Symphony tuning organs and pianos. He tuned pianos for such acts
as Liberace, Elvis and the Boston Pops.
He is survived by his daughters: Maria Mauer of Greensburg, Jennifer A. Belleau of Salem,
Mass.; two sons: Tom Gough of North Vernon and Tim Gough of Monroe County; a brother,
John Gough of Plymouth; a sister, Melissa J. Gough of Greencastle and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Constance Ann Gough.
Born Sept. 4, 1944, in Manhattan, N.Y., Marguerite was the daughter of the late William and
Lena Fella Hrabar. She later married Gregg Gough in New York, N.Y.
Mrs. Gough was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, needlepoint and loved animals.
She is survived by her daughters: Maria Mauer of Greensburg, Jennifer A. Belleau of Salem,
Mass.; two sons: Tom Gough of North Vernon and Tim Gough of Monroe County; a brother,
John Hrabar of Brooklyn, N.Y. and a sister, Alicia J. Hrabar of Colo. And two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made through Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home to the American Cancer Society
or the Friends of Jennings County Public Library.

Lucetta M. Pfeiffer
WALKERTON — Lucetta M. Pfeiffer, 79, of Walkerton, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009 in Hospice
House, South Bend.
She is survived by a daughter, Terry Greene of Teegarden; son, Rick (Denise) Pfeiffer of
Lakeville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters: Marjorie Harbison of
Mishawaka, Alice Wood of Niles, Mich., Charlene Whittebery of Walkerton, and Barbara
McGovern of Niles, Mich. The
Visitation will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S.
Michigan St. South Bend. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 in the
Morris cemetery, Walkerton.

William Howard Buckles
BOURBON — William Howard Buckles, 75, lost his battle with cancer Wednesday, Sept. 16,
2009. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., with dinner following Tuesday, Sept. 22 at M.R.
Falcons, 212 Keller St. South Bend.
Bill was born July 5, 1934 in South Bend to William and Maude Buckles. He served in the Army
and was a bricklayer in the South Bend area for 50 years.
While in the Army he was stationed in Alaska where he fell in love with the Last Frontier. While
living in Alaska, Bill spent time in villages above the Artic Circle, worked for the Alaskan
Railroad, as well as a number of construction projects throughout Alaska.
Bill was a true adventurer and lived life to the fullest. Over the course of his life, he enjoyed
skydiving, scuba diving, touring the United States and Canada via motorcycle and whitewater
rafting. Bill lived life by the following motto: Life’s Journey is not to arrive safely at the grave in a
well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways totally worn out hollering, “Holy Cow, what a ride!”
Bill is survived by his wife, Cheryl Buckles of Bourbon; two sons: Shane and Troy Buckles;
daughter, Misha Irvine; two sisters: Barbara Kersten and Dorothy Corson; and eight grandchildren.
Bill touched a number of lives and will be deeply missed by anyone that knew him.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.

Gary Irvin Ford
WARSAW — Gary Irvin Ford, of St. Mary’s Drive, Warsaw, went to be with his Heavenly Father
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at 9:17 a.m. at his residence, at the age of 58.
He was born Aug. 30, 1951 in Marion, Ind. to David Irvin Ford, who survives and the late Helen
H. (Flynn) Kinder.
On Aug. 15, 1970 he was married to Paulette Jeaneen Baum, who survives.
Mr. Ford was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 24 years and he attended Warsaw
Community Church, Warsaw. Prior to moving to Warsaw in 1985 he worked in Plymouth as a
mechanic. He worked in the maintenance department at Chore-Time/Brock in Milford for 10
years prior to retirement due to ill health in 2007
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 39 years, Paulette Ford (Warsaw); three
daughters: Tracey (husband Woody) Layne (Pierceton); Tresa (husband Jason) Nichols
(Pierceton); Trisha (husband Andy) Bills (Columbia City); seven grandchildren: Shelby Layne,
Brooks Smith, Chenee Gaff, KateLynn Gaff, Ally Nichols, Ellee Bills and Carter Bills.
He is also survived by his father, David (wife Grace) Ford (Jonesboro, Ind.); two brothers:
Randy Ford (Jonesboro); Mike (wife Sandra) Kinder (Walkerton); two sisters: Gail Ford
(Jonesboro); and Penny Smith (Florida).
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and step-father Bill Kinder.
Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 19, prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at Redpath-Fruth
Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated
by Pastor Jeff Pfeifer.
Memorial contributions can be made in Gary’s memory to Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice,
P.O. Box 1196, Warsaw, IN 46581-1196, and would be appreciated by his family.

Frances Jean Hardee
ARGOS — Frances Jean Hardee, 78, Argos, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 at 12:11 a.m. at
Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester following a brief illness.
She is survived by two sons: Kevin (Marilyn) Hardee of Argos and Vernon (Glenda) Hardee of
Show Low, Ariz.; a daughter, Karen (Jesse) Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty (Gary) Helvie of Kokomo; and a bother, Dale (Mary)
Edwards of Ames, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Garden Court Apartments,
406 W. Marshall St., Argos.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
