WALKERTON — Thomas Walter Zellers, 53, of Walkerton, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008, in his home.
He is survived by his Wife, Robin; three sons: Travis Zellers of Indianapolis, Brett Zellers of
Plymouth and Kyle Zellers at home; a Daughter, Misty Kough of Koontz Lake; mother, Marcella
Zellers of Winamac; a sister, Carolyn Bondurant of Wyatt; two Brothers, Chuck Zellers and
George (Lurch) Zellers, both of Winamac and four grandchildren.
Friends may visit Tuesday from 2 p.m. (EDT) until the time of services at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 6 p.m. (EDT) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Cremation will take place at a later date.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be given to the Rannells Funeral Home.

Herman Hueni
BREMEN — Herman “Jack” Hueni, 70, of Bremen, died at 6: 26 p.m. Sunday, March 23 at
Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene of Bremen; daughter, Michelle (Ron) Grove of Bremen; son,
Micah Hueni of Bremen; three granddaughters; and two brothers: Robert (Letty) Hueni of
Bremen and Herbert (Phyllis) Hueni of Osceola.
Visitation is Wednesday, March 26 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home,
Bremen. Funeral services are Thursday, March 27 at 10 a.m. at the Nappanee Missionary
Church. Burial will be at the Bremen cemetery.

Wanda E. Lotter
HAMLET — Wanda E. Lotter, 81, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008, at her home after an illness.
She is survived by two daughters: Jessica (Lloyd) Kirby of Pittsboro, Ind. and Elizabeth (Tom)
Lawrence of Hamlet; a son, Matthew (Christine) Lotter of Hamlet; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren;
a sister, Joan (William) Wakal of Knox.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. (CDT) at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet
Chapel and Wednesday at the church after 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 26 at 11 a.m. (CDT) at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hamlet.
Memorial contributions may be given to the church or The Center for Hospice and Palliative
Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.

Margaret Maxine Olson
PLYMOUTH — Margaret Maxine Olson, 67, 15405 Tuxedo Drive, died of natural causes in Saint
Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, having fought a courageous eight-year battle
against an incurable lung condition, at 10: 03 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2008.
An attractive, intelligent, vibrant woman with a lot of determination and a great sense of humor,
Margaret was born on Aug. 14, 1940, in Princeton, Minn. She was the daughter of Andrew and
Audrey Maxine Pogue Bullis.
She graduated from Princeton High School and earned her B.S. from Saint Cloud State University in 1962.
Margaret and her high school sweetheart, Richard Olson, were married in Princeton on July 18, 1958.
A teacher for 32 years, she first taught school in Lewiston, Minn., then in St. Paul. She taught
math and science for 13 years at LaVille High School, before resigning in 1996.
With more free time, she turned her energies to her passion, genealogy research. Self-taught on
the computer, she helped many of her friends learn the system.
She loved to travel and made several trips to England and Ireland.
She was a woodworker, building furniture and creating detailed doll houses for her
granddaughters. She did tole painting and was an expert in various needle crafts.
Margaret liked to sing and played the piano with ease. She was an excellent bridge player and
competed in championship flights of golf at the Plymouth Country Club where she was a
member for more than 20 years.
The Olsons have three little dogs that she loved very much: Tia, Misty and Maggie, will miss her tremendously.
Margaret is survived by Dick, her husband of 49 years and by their four children, 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her children and grandchildren are: Lisa (Tim) Miller, Plymouth and their children, Diedra,
Connor and Bryce: Kristi (Kevin) Schmidt, Lake Mills, Wis., and their children, Kyle, Owen,
Caitlin and Bethany: Steven (Kitty) Olson, Indianapolis, and their children, Cheyenne, Megan and
Sierra and Kari (Joe) Englert, Cincinnati, Ohio, and their children, Lauren, Kelsey and Tyler.
Also surviving are two sisters: Andi Lou (Rick) Dahle, Clear Lake, Wis. And Dru Ann (Andrew) Faith, St. Cloud, Minn.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends are invited to share memories and celebrate the life and courage of Margaret Maxine
Olson on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Margaret will follow visitation at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.
Memorials in Margaret’s name may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Marshall County.

Ronald W. Wautelet
PLYMOUTH — Ronald W. Wautelet, 63, of Plymouth, Indiana, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at 4: 15 p.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
He is survived by his mother, Mable Wautelet of Los Angeles, Calif.; his brother, John (Susan)
Wautelet of Plymouth; and his sister, Beverly Metza of Los Angeles.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Englewood Park cemetery in California
Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, is handling the local arrangements.

Barbara Ann (Fisher-Weaver) Ort
LAKELAND, Fla. — Barbara Ann (Fisher-Weaver) Ort, 72, of Lakeland, Fla., died Monday, March 24, 2008 at Good Shepherd Hospice Center, Auburndale, Fla.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Ort of Lakeland, Fla.; daughters: Jan Hanson of South Bend, Cathy McCullough and Heidi Karason of Lakeland, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sisters: Jacqueline (Douglas) Cultice of Argos
and Marjorie (Dennis) Cook of Winter Park, Fla.; and brother, Edward (Chris) Fisher of Canton, Texas.
A private family memorial service will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice; 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
The Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, is in charge of the arrangements.

Viola "Jean" Miller
ARGOS — Viola “Jean” Miller, 74, of Argos, died at 1: 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 at Life Care Center of Rochester.
She is survived by daughters: Nina (Joe) Hodges of Bald Knob, Ark., Susan Miller of Yorba Linda, Calif., Mary (Danny) Conley of Argos, Brenda (David) Rowe of Hemet, Calif., Melissa (Duane) Littlejohn of Nucla, Colo. And Rebecca Miller of Argos; sons: James Morack of Nucla, Colo., Roger (Annie) Miller of New Richmond and John Miller of Nucla, Colo.; sisters: Dolly
(Glen) Shireman of Loudenville, Ohio, Lorraine Balentine of Mojave, Calif. And Laura (Richard) Anderson of Carrington, Minn.; brother, John Alloway; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Private family services were held at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester. Burial will take
place at a later date.

Sister Helen Wojciechowicz
Sister Helen Wojciechowicz, 67, died at 12: 30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
She is survived by a sister, Phyllis (Jim) Bistyak; a brother, Leo (Mary) Wojciechowicz, and her nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4: 30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 27 in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11: 30 a.m. on Friday, March 28 in the Catherine Kasper Home Chapel.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery, Donaldson.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Nancy E. Jaynes
PLYMOUTH — Nancy E. Jaynes, age 53, of 932 S. Angel St., Plymouth, passed away at 1: 05 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at home, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born on July 5, 1954, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Lewis “Jack” and Ethel (Howard) Jaynes.
Nancy graduated from Ball State University, in Muncie, Indiana, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was an inactive member of the Beta Delta Chapter of Tri Kappa, Plymouth, and a member of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church.
Nancy loved teaching high school, and had been a teacher in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department, for 30 years, at Plymouth High School, serving as Department Chair, for many of those years.
Nancy was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998. She was a tireless leader in the fight against breast cancer, volunteering countless hours to the cause, including speaking to groups across the state. In 2002, she founded the nonprofit organization, IBCAT (Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust), and conceived Indiana’s breast cancer specialty license plate, with the help of her friends. She was a member of the Board of Directors of that trust. The specialty license plate is available through all branches of Indiana’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles. All profits from the sale of the breast cancer license plate, promote education and awareness of breast cancer prevention, to the citizens in the state of Indiana.
Nancy was selected to carry the Olympic Torch, in January 2004, running a short distance through the streets of Fort Wayne, Indiana, as it passed through Northern Indiana, on its way to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the XIX Olympic Winter Games.
Nancy’s story, Dancing at Evan’s Wedding, was published in the book, Chicken Soup for the Breast Cancer Survivor’s Soul, in 2006.
Nancy loved her three boys, her family, her friends, her students, and God. She had a tremendous amount of faith that sustained her throughout her long journey through her cancer.
Her loving smile lit up a room, and after meeting her, even once, you were a part of her tender and caring heart forever. She loved working on “projects” with her dad and learned a lot from him, as they worked side by side.
During her illness, her family and friends were right by her side, supporting her in any way they could. She was overwhelmed, and humbled, by the love, cards, prayers, and other ways people reached out to her, during her illness and treatments.
Nancy is survived by her mother, Ethel Jaynes of Donaldson; her sons, who were the love of her life, Chas Glaub and his friend Monica of Newport Beach, Calif., Matthew Glaub and his fiancée Michelle and their daughter, Maggie of Plymouth, and Evan Glaub at home; her loving and caring brother, David and Mary Anne Jaynes of Indianapolis; her niece, Maria Jaynes of Indianapolis; and her nephew, Daniel Jaynes of Indianapolis. Nancy also leaves behind many dear friends and of course her many, many, students, whose lives were touched in a positive way by having her as their teacher. She was preceded in death by her father, Lewis “Jack” Jaynes.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at Plymouth High School, with the Rev. Al Kundenreich officiating.
A time of visiting and sharing memories of Nancy, with her family and friends, will be on Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Plymouth High School Multi-Purpose Room (enter on the north side of the school) from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The family would like for memorial contributions to be given to the Nancy Jayne’s Scholarship Fund, c/o The Marshall County Foundation, 2701 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN, 46563, has been entrusted with the arrangements.

William C. Mallers
KNOX — William C. “Bill” Mallers, 82, a former Bluffton resident, living at Bass Lake, died in the
Porter Community Hospital, Valparaiso, on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at 6: 38 p.m.
Bill is survived by his wife; five children: sons are Phil C. (Sue) Mallers of Crown Point and
children; Chris, Todd and Brad with (great-grandson) Landon, Charles E. Mallers of Knox and
children; Kimberly, Justin, Paul and Scott. Daughters are: Kathy J. (Paul) Kachanoski of
Columbus, Ind. and son; Joel. Becky L. (Jack) Black of Park Forest, Ill. and children; Carrie and
R P. and Julie A. (Bob) Boczek, Glenview, Ill. and children; Mallery and Brant; a sister, Martha
Jane Pautsch, Estero, Fla.; and a brother, James C. and Pat (Thoma) Mallers, Fort Wayne.
Visitation is Thursday, April 3 from 3 to 9 p.m. EST at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11 a.m. EST or 10 a.m. CST.,
at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center, 1509 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso.
Interment will be in the Abraham Lincoln National cemetery of Elwood, Ill.
Memorial gifts in Bill’s memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, Knox V.F.W.
Post or St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Knox.

Robert Whitsel
BREMEN — Robert Whitsel, 68, of Bremen, died on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Valley Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Whitsel of Bremen; sons: Blane (Irina) Whitesel of Mishawaka
and Shane (Kim) Whitsel of Bremen; one granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
mother, Veloice Whitsel of Bremen; and sisters: Barbara Crothers of Bremen,
Marcia Osterbur of Bremen, Helen (Keith) Bellman of Bremen and Katie Delong of Bryon, Ohio.
Services will be held Friday, April 4 at 10: 30 a.m. at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Burial will
take place at Bremen cemetery. Visitation is Thursday, April 3 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home where a Fireman Memorial Service will be held at 7: 30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be give to the Community Hospital of Bremen or the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department

Sidney Eugene Albertsen
WALKERTON — Sidney Eugene Albertsen, 52, of Walkerton, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
He is survived by one brother, Leslie Albertsen of Walkerton; four sisters: Anita Green of Elkhart, Amy Thorne of Denver, N.C., Alma Stone of Deridder, L.A. and Angela Albertsen of Clinton, Ind.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel is handling arrangements.

Margaret L. (Barnard) Peregrine
PLYMOUTH — Margaret L. (Barnard) Peregrine, 92, of Plymouth, died at 3: 15 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane (James) Day of Bloomington; son, Stephen D. Barnard of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth, on Wednesday, April 2 at 11 a.m.
Entombment will be in the New Oakhill Mausoleum, Plymouth.
Memorial gifts may be made to Riley Hospital for Children in honor of Brayden Day.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Beverly Jean Sult
PLYMOUTH — Beverly Jean Sult, 77, of Plymouth, formerly of South Bend, passed away at
3: 50 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Miller’s Merry Manor-Plymouth. She was born on Jan. 28,
1931 in South Bend to Claude and Ruby Louise (Althouse) Pierce and was a lifelong resident.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Edward Thompson and Alvin Sult; her
granddaughter, Kristy Lee Andersen; and sister, Virginia Vida.
Mrs. Sult is survived by her daughter, Pam (Roy) Andersen of Plymouth; four sons: Jerry
Thompson of South Bend, Charlie Thompson of Clarksville, Tenn., Jeff (Jackie Masterson)
Thompson of La Porte and Alvin Loy Sult, Jr. of Westville; stepdaughter, Cindy Short of New
Carlisle; two stepsons: Paul (Debbie) Sult of New Carlisle and Mark Sult. Also surviving are 10
grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three sisters: Carolyn Paris of Port Richey, Fla., Nancy
Vida and Pat (Joe) Laskowski both of South Bend; and three brothers: Johnny Pierce of
Alabama, Leo Pierce of Walkerton and Claude (Evelyn) Pierce Jr. of Lydick.
Mrs. Sult retired in 1981 from Easy Heat. She loved to play bingo; was an avid NASCAR and
country music fan; and was a doll collector.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Palmer Funeral Home-River
Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Pastor Rustin Krapfl of Sunrise Chapel, Plymouth will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Riverview cemetery, South Bend. The
family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services on
Thursday in the funeral home.
Contributions in memory of Beverly Jean Sult may be made to Women’s Care Center, 224 N. Michigan St, Plymouth, IN 46563 or to Sunrise Chapel, 11802 Lincoln Highway, Plymouth, IN 46563.

Ernest G. "Bud" Ricks
WALKERTON — Ernest G. “Bud” Ricks, 80, of Walkerton, died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in his
home after an illness. Ricks was born December 28, 1927 in Francesville, Ind. to Chester and
Blanch (Archer) Ricks and lived in the area most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; five children: Sherry Lynn (Chuck) Eaton of Union Mills, Doug
(Nancy) Ricks of Walkerton, Brett Ricks of Union Mills, Tammy J. Ricks of Walkerton and
Marlene (Marshall) Sherland of Walkerton; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a
brother, Kenneth (Mary) Ricks of Leiters Ford; a sister, Betty Daugherty of Sebring, Fla.
Visitation will take place Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. (CDT) and Thursday after 9 a.m. until the
time of services at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. (CDT) at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Burial will be in the New Carlisle cemetery, where military graveside services will be
conducted. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the
American Lung Association.

Luella "June" Riley
PLYMOUTH — Luella “June” Riley, 81, of Plymouth died Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Crestview, Fla.
She is survived by her husband, Warren J. McCullough; and daughters: Sandra Louderback of
North Liberty and Cindy Sheaks of Walkerton.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. EDT at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Burial will be in the Grovertown cemetery.Visitation is Saturday from 11 a.m. EDT until
the time of services at the funeral home.
