PLYMOUTH — Timothy S. Millea, 57, of 413 N. Walnut St., Plymouth, passed away at 12: 04
a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.
Tim was born Dec. 22, 1950, in Plymouth, to Robert and Harriett (Holdeman) Millea. On Oct. 28,
1978, Tim and Kamila Cherry were married . Tim had been employed by Kabelin’s Ace Hardware
and Carter Lumber Company, both in Plymouth. He was a member of Saint Michael Catholic Church, Plymouth.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kamila Millea; their son, Corey Millea; their daughters, Erin Millea
and Kelsey Millea, all of Plymouth; his sister; Carolyn and Rick Malcom of Elkhart; and his
brother, Bob and Polly Millea of Minneapolis, Minn.
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 16, 2008 at 2 p.m., at the Van Gilder Funeral Home,
with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.
A time of visiting with the Millea family will be Friday, May 16, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the
Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Vollie Anna Mae Verkinder
HAMLET — Vollie Anna Mae Verkinder, 86, died Monday, May 12, 2008 in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Leon Verkinder; daughters: Nanette (Richard) Furlong of Crest
Hill, Ill., Jeanette (Angelo) Marquez of Harvey, Ill. and Carol (Louis) Gagner of Port Richey, Fla.;
10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. CDT at Holy Cross Church of Hamlet. Burial
will be in the Holy Cross cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 to
10: 30 a.m. at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel where a Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Dennis R. Mishler
CULVER — Dennis R. Mishler, 75, of Culver, died at 6: 30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.
He is survived by sons: Jeffery Mishler of Avon and Kurt Mishler of Culver; daughter, Dawn
(David) Mann of Plymouth; and brothers: Terry (Sharon) Mishler of Kalamazoo, Mich., Lynn
(Jan) Mishler of Leiters Ford and Larry (Jennifer) Mishler of Mena, Ark.
Visitation is Friday, May 16 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver. Funeral
services are Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Leiters Ford IOOF
Memorials may be given to the family.

Jackie "Newt" Cooper
KOONTZ LAKE — Jackie “Newt” Cooper, 10, of Koontz Lake, passed away in his home
Saturday, May 17, 2008 after an illness.
Jackie was born Aug. 22, 1997 in Paintsville, Ky. to Rodney and Johanna (Farris) Cooper and
lived in the Koontz Lake area most of his life.
He was a fourth grade student at Oregon-Davis Elementary School.
Survivors include: his father and step-mother, Rodney and Stacy Cooper of Koontz Lake; his
mother, Johanna Cooper of Kentucky; one sister, Nichole Cooper of Koontz Lake; two brothers:
Benjamin and Dorsie “DJ” Cooper of Koontz Lake; two step-sisters: Shalea and Kayla Watkins
of Koontz Lake; one step-brother, Justin Watkins of Koontz Lake; paternal grandparents, Sam
and Lila Howard of Culver; maternal grandparents, Dorsey and Judy Farris of Salyersville, Ky.;
step-grandparents, Clifford and Sandra McVicker of Culver and step-great-grandmother, Pauline
McVicker of Culver.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, May 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. (EDT) at Rannells Funeral Home,
Koontz Lake Chapel and Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 21 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time at the Koontz Lake Missionary Church.
Cremation will take place following services.

Homer R. Forsythe
PLYMOUTH — Homer R. Forsythe, 90, of Plymouth, formerly of Bremen, died Saturday, May 17
at 1: 30 a.m. at his home.
He is survived by two daughters: Sharon Bemish of Plymouth and Carolyn Forsythe of Pa.; two
sons: Robert Forsythe of Bremen and Johns Forsythe of Fla.; three sisters: Lucille Schmeltz of
Walkerton, Blanche Odiorne of Plymouth and Margaret Troyer of Monon; several grandchildren
and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 20 at noon, one hour prior to the funeral services at 1
p.m. at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Burial will follow at Bremen cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Starke County Hospice.

Arlene R. Greer
ROCHESTER — Arlene R. Greer, 91, of Rochester, formerly of Plymouth, died at 4: 45 a.m.
Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.
She is survived by her daughters: Rosalie Lowe of Rochester and Jeanie and George Rudich of
Cedarburg, Wis.; her son, Larry Greer of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home,
Plymouth. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be given to the choice of the donor.

Bill Quesenberry
BREMEN — Bill Quesenberry, 67, of Bremen, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 12: 05 p.m. at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Quesenberry of Bremen; three daughters: Regina Fretz of
Bremen, Teresa (Jeff) Blystone of Bremen and Rebecca (fiancee' Efrain Mejia) Quesenberry of
Bremen; a son, Billy (Katie) Quesenberry of Fishers and seven grandchildren: Nicole and Justin
Fretz, Jonathan and Jonah Blystone, Abigail and Jacob Quesenberry and Giovanni MejiaQuesenberry.
Visitation will take place Thursday, May 22 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, May 23 at 10: 30 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church
with burial to follow at Bremen cemetery.

Christopher Allan "Skip" Shambarger
ROANN — Christopher Allan “Skip” Shambarger, 38, of Roann, died Sunday, May 18 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Shambarger; daughter, Jesilyn R. Shambarger, at home;
son, Christian S. Shambarger, at home; mother and stepfather, Carol and Marvin Bahney of
Akron; sisters: Kelly (Gary) Lebo of Middletown, Ohio, Lela (Gordon) Nash of Warsaw, Lory
(Barry) Newhouse of Ft. Wayne, Jill (Kevin) Pugh of Rochester and Jana Green of North
Carolina.; and brothers: Chuck L. (Robin) Shambarger of Jackson, N.J., Randy L. (Vita)
Shambarger of Rochester, Tye Bahney of Rochester and Martin Bahney of Warsaw.
Visitation is Thursday, May 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services are Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Military rites will be
conducted at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Jesilyn and Christian Shambarger Education Fund at Lake City
Bank of Warsaw.

Freemon D. Borkholder
NAPPANEE — Freemon D. Borkholder, 75, of Nappanee, died at 9: 45 a.m. Monday, May 19,
2008 at Community Hospital of Bremen.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Borkholder; sons: Dwayne (Jolene) Borkholder of Bremen
and Jonathan (Marcia) Borkholder of Bremen; daughters: Lorene K. Borkholder of Bremen, Sue
Etta (Orus) Yoder of Bremen and Cheryl Borkholder of Flushing, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren;
brothers: Eli (Velma) Borkholder of Bremen and Alvin (Ruth Ann) Borkholder of Nappanee; and
sisters: Katie (Joe) Whetstone of Nappanee, Anna Mae (Floyd) Bender of Bremen and Laura D.
(Oscar Jr.) Schmucker of Nappanee.
Visitation is Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, May 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour
prior to services Thursday in the Nappanee Missionary Church. Funeral services are Thursday,
May 22 at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Bethel Conservative Church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Gideons or Northern Youth Programs.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is in charge of the arrangements.

Deborah L. Grimes
TWELVE MILE — Deborah L. Grimes, 40, of Twelve Mile, died at 5: 33 p.m. Monday, May 19,
2008 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Ernie Gates of Twelve Mile; mother, Loretta Grimes of Culver;
sisters: Christine Foster of Rochester, Bobbi Jo (Mike) Grover of Culver, Donna (Tom)
Woodward of Culver and Rachael (Ed) Tibbs of Bristol, Conn.; brother, Rudy (Mary) Grimes of
LaPaz; stepdaughter, Melissa (Jeremy) Pickett of Ft. Riley, Kan.; stepson, Aaron Gates of
Twelve Mile; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is Saturday, May 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver.
Funeral services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House in Indiana.

Pamela R. Myers
PLYMOUTH — Pamela R. Myers, 56, of 14997 3rd Rd., Plymouth, passed away at 4: 52 a.m.
Monday, May 19, 2008, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.
Pam was born Dec. 9, 1951, in Plymouth, to Robert and Audene (Freesc) Botset. On Nov. 7,
1970 Pam and Wayne Myers were married . She had been a resident of the Marshall County
Area, all of her life. Pam was employed with Aearo-AO Safety in Plymouth for 17 years.
Pam is survived by her husband, Wayne Myers of Plymouth; their daughter, Yavonda Myers of
Warsaw; her granddaughters, Kiara Boal and Kelsey Boal of Warsaw; her brother, Ronald
Botset of Plymouth; and her aunt Pauline Fitef of Bourbon.
A time of visiting with the Myers family will be Thursday, May 22, 2008 from 1 to 3 p.m. and from
5 to 7 p.m. at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be given to IBCAT (Indiana Breast Cancer Awareness Trust), Post
Office Box 8212, Evansville, IN 47716.

John R. Christison
PLYMOUTH – John R. Christison, 75, of 11088 South Hawthorn Rd., Plymouth, passed away
Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 7: 10 a.m. at his home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1932, in Virginia, Neb., to Paul and Josephine (Penkeua) Christison. John
worked at the Plymouth Waste Water Plant. He served his county during the Korean War in the
United States Army. John and Lucille White were married in Knox on Aug. 24, 1961. They have
lived in Plymouth since 1965.
John was a member of Plymouth V.F.W. Post #1162, American Legion Post #27, Plymouth
Moose Lodge #741, Eagles Lodge #1900, and the Plymouth Elks Lodge.
John is survived by his wife, Lucille; his sons: Gary and Stacy Christison of Gun Barrel City,
Texas, Mike Christison of Irving, Texas, and John and Roxanne Christison of Plymouth; his
daughters: Tina and Cleon Wagoner of Culver, and Janet and Andrew Wilson of Plymouth; eight
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Pauline Christison Gall of Benton, Ill. He
was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Christison Ellinghausen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 1: 30 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home
in Plymouth, with Pastor Paul Whitworth, of Faith Baptist Church, officiating.
A time of visiting with the family will be Friday, May 23, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m., at the
Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563. Military rites will be
presented by the American Legion Post #27, Plymouth.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S.
Center St., Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Gerald "Pete" Martin
Gerald (Pete) Martin, 87, of 635 Oak Hill Ave., Plymouth, passed away at 11: 20 p.m., Tuesday,
May 20, 2008, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Plymouth.
Pete was born Sept. 15, 1920, in Marshall County, Indiana, to Dallas and Esther (Deamer)
Martin. He married Kathleen Towne on Sept. 6, 1938. They had farms on King Road, in
Plymouth, and on Apple Road in Tippecanoe.
Pete is survived by his wife, Kathleen; their daughters, Lorraine Davenport of Tippecanoe and
Carol and Bob Krueger of Fort Wayne; their son, Carl and Nancy Martin of Plymouth; four
grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren;
and six great-great-grandchildren. Pete was preceded in death by his son, Hugh Martin; and his
sisters, Margaret Bollinger and Edith Martin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 1 p.m., at the Van Gilder Funeral Home,
with the Rev. Charles Krieg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.
A time of visiting with the Martin Family, will be Saturday, May 24, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563.
The Martin family requests that memorial contributions be given to The Muscular Dystrophy
Association, 314 W. Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46544.

Wayn Ray Chupp
NAPPANEE — Wayne Ray Chupp, 61, of Nappanee, died Friday, May 23 at 9 a.m. at his home
after an 18-month battle with cancer.
Wayne was born November, 27, 1946 to Ray E. Chupp and Ada M. (Yoder) in Bremen.
He is survived by his wife Joan; two sons: Eric W. (Marlis) Chupp of Goshen and Jeremy D.
(Molly) Chupp of Chicago; a grandson, Brady Chupp of Chicago; two brothers: Merl (Carylin)
Chupp of Wakarusa and Carlyle (Pearl) Chupp of Nappanee and a sister, Shirley (Bob) Glenn of
Wakarusa.
Visitation is at North Main Street Mennonite Church, Nappanee, one hour prior to services
Tuesday. Services will take place Tuesday, May 27 at 10 a.m. at the church, led by Rev. Ruben
Chupp assisted by Rev. Derrick Ramer. Burial will follow at Union Center cemetery.
Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee is in charge of arrangements.
