Harold J. Michael, 89, Mason Healthcare Center, Warsaw, IN and formerly of Sidney, IN, died at 4: 40 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. He was born November 3, 1918 in Jackson Township, Kosciusko County, IN to Roy F. & Clara M. (Metzger) Michael. On November 15, 1940 he married Pansy D. Plant. She died May 13, 2002. Harold was a retired farmer and a member of the American Legion Post #253, North Webster, IN. He served with the US Navy in WWII. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. William (Kathy) Greider, Cromwell, IN and Mrs. Rick (Betsy) Zellers, Silver Lake, IN and one sister, Marceline Russell, Pierceton, IN and three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. One son, David Michael, died in 2003. Two brothers, Delbert Michael and Donald Michael, and three sisters, Mildred McKee and two infant sisters, Opal & Marjorie Michael, are deceased. CHARLES F. RENSCHLER, 92, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Charles F. Renschler, 92, North Manchester, IN died at 11: 50 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Peabody Healthcare Center. He was born September 14, 1915 in Madison, IN to Charles & Nell (Kelly) Renschler. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelors degree in business/chemistry. He was purchasing agent for Seagram's Distillery in Louisville, KY for 35 years. On January 30, 1943 he married Mary Alice Gehring. She died in 1995. On May 3, 1997 he married Jean (Loucks) Grubb. She survives. Also surviving are a son, William C. "Bill" Renschler, Cincinnati, OH; two daughters, Linda Renschler, Lawrenceburg, KY and Mrs. David (Jane) Richards, Vicksburg, MS. One step son, James Grubb, Salem, OR and two step daughters, Mrs. Ryan (Sally) Williams, Charlotte, NC and Mrs. Gary (Marsha) Groninger, Olathe, KS. Four grandchildren also survive. Charles was a navigator and 2nd lieutenant in the Army-Air Force from 1942-1945 and a member of Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Louisville, KY. Philip G. Seitner, 88, North Manchester, IN died at 2: 00 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 in Peabody Healthcare Center. He was born at North Manchester, IN on June 20, 1919 to Darley R. & Marie (Heeter) Seitner. Phil graduated from Central High School in 1937. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Manchester College, Masters Degree and Ph.D. from Purdue University. A research scientist, he worked with the American Medical Association, Encyclopedia Britannica and retired from Baxter-Travenall Corp. in Chicago, IL. On February 3, 1973 she married Wallace Dingess. He survives. She was a homemaker and worked at Invensey Controls, North Manchester, IN for 33 years. He was born at Elkhart, Indiana on November 9, 1945 to Lloyd & Freida (Kreider) Stackhouse. On February 18, 2006 he married Marcella Drudge. She survives. Also surviving are a son Tony Palmer, Warsaw, IN and a daughter, Tammy Baldwin, Warsaw, IN. A step-son, David Drudge, Huntington, IN and a step-daughter, Anita Drudge, Hicksville, OH. Two brothers, Steve Stackhouse, Floral City, FL and Larry Stackhouse, Bozeman, MT. A sister, Mrs. Randy (Debra) Cripe, North Manchester and nine grandchildren. Jim retired in 2007 after working 28 years with the North Manchester street department. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam from 1969-1971, member of the American Legion Post # 286 and Eagles Lodge, both at North Manchester. Mary Smith Yeatter, 92, North Manchester, IN died at 11: 37 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. She was born May 31, 1915 in Mifflin County, PA to Charles M. & Ella (Auker) Smith. On June 10, 1939 she married David B. Yeatter. He died March 24, 1984. She earned her BS degree from Manchester College in 1960 and her Masters from Ball State University. Mary was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester, IN. She was active in Girl Scouts and Church of the Brethren summer camp programs at Camp Mack. She was a member of the College Women's Club. She taught fifth grade in Manchester Community Schools for 17 years retiring in 1977. After leaving the classroom and after becoming widowed, she continued to help others by supporting them through the loss of spouses. Both in her classroom and her life, she will be remembered for her keen sense of humor and her love for words. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge. She is survived by four daughters, Ann Y. Hammer, Perth, Australia; Susan Y. Brown, Columbia, MD; Jane A. Yeatter, Harrisburg, PA; Nancy (Randy) Sare, Roann, IN; Five grandchildren, Elizabeth (John) Clements, Australia; Katherine (Andrew) Millar, Australia; Natasha (Amy Worman) Sare, Ft. She was born January 8, 1916 in North Manchester, IN to Cain C. and Florence Adella (Hill) Weimer. She first married John A. Paul, he is deceased. She then married Bill Price in 1978, he is also deceased. Mabel was a homemaker and owner of J & M Market, North Manchester, IN and bookkeeper at Culligan Water Softening, Wabash, IN. She was a member of Women of the Moose and Tri Kappa Associate Chapter. Mabel graduated from Central High School in 1934 and attended South Pleasant United Methodist Church, rural Silver Lake, IN. She is survived by one son, John E. (Carol) Paul, Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Larry (Nelma M.) Stoner, Cromwell, IN; one brother, Paul (Elsie) Weimer, Richmond, VA; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several step children. WILLIAM D. JAGGER, 86, SILVER LAKE, IN
William D. Jagger, 86, Silver Lake, IN went to be with his Lord at 4: 05 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born October 15, 1921 at Columbia City, IN to Fred E. & Ethel M. (Gipe) Jagger. On August 15, 1942 he married Evelyn L. Kline. She survives. He farmed with his father for a short while, was a house-painter and U.S. Postal clerk. In 1966 he and Evelyn purchased the Summe Hardware in Silver Lake, IN and operated it with their son, Larry, until 1994. He was a 1939 graduate of Silver Lake High School, a member of the American Legion, Silver Lake and a life member of Disabled American Veterans, Warsaw. During the years Bill was raising his children, he was a Boy Scout leader for more than 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and "tinkering" in his workshop. Bill loved his Lord, adored his Evey" and treasured his children and grandchildren. He was a U.S. Marine veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II, suffering severe injury during the battle of Saipan. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a member and deacon of West Eel River Church of the Brethren, Silver Lake. Also surviving are two sons; Larry W. (Faye) Jagger, Winona Lake, IN / Dr. Michael J. Jagger, Mishawaka, IN; one daughter, Gaylo (Mrs. David) Goss, Rochester, IN. One sister, Thelma (Mrs. Jack) Butler, Laketon, IN. 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Bonnie J. Clark, 77, North Manchester, IN died at 7: 35 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 at her residence. She was born October 3, 1930 in Wabash County, IN to Guy & Winona (Truitt) Winebrenner. On September 2, 1950 she married R. Wayne Clark. He survives. Also surviving are one son, David Clark, Ft. Wayne, IN and one daughter, Karen Clark, Columbus, OH. One daughter-in-law, Mrs. Kent (Teresa) Coble, North Manchester, IN. Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One son, Allen Clark died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Chester High School in 1948, and after high school she worked at Indiana Lawrence Bank and Western Auto Store. Later, Bonnie went to work for the Town of North Manchester where she retired in 2001 as supervising clerk of utilities. She attended First Brethren Church at North Manchester. On March 14, 1954 she married Arthur L. Cook. He survives. She was a homemaker and member of the Eel River Old German Baptist Brethren Church. Also surviving are two sons; Doug (Elma) Cook, Claypool, IN and Glen (Caroline) Cook, Cleveland, GA. Two daughters, Mary Ann Metzger, Claypool, IN and Mrs. Randy (Gail) Metzger, North Manchester, IN. Three brothers, Paul Wrightsman, North Manchester, IN; Harold (Esther) Wrightsman, Silver Lake, IN and Ronnie (Louella) Wrightsman, Rockville, IN. Two sisters, Mrs. Herman (Eileen) Beachler, North Manchester, IN and Mrs. Earl (Carol) Grindle, Laketon, IN. Fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Ray worked in various capacities in transportation and was owner/operator of Manchester Trucking 1946-1970. He served with the US Army in Germany during WWII 1942-1945. Sandra O. Borgmann, 69, North Manchester, IN died at 9: 06 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008 in an automobile accident in Huntington County, IN. She was born July 30, 1938 in Roaring Spring, PA and was a graduate of Roaring Spring High School. She completed her undergraduate degree at Juniata College in 1960 and married her husband, Egon Borgmann, on June 25 of that same year. She also completed post-graduate course work in Elementary Education at Temple University. She was an elementary school teacher in the Upper Darby (PA) School District and later committed her energies to raising her three children. Active in the church her entire life, she was at various times a member of the Roaring Spring First Church of the Brethren, Trinity Presbyterian Church and the Wilmington Church of the Brethren in Wilmington, DE, and after moving to North Manchester, IN, the Manchester Church of the Brethren. She was the beloved "Grammy" of seven grandchildren and enjoyed attending and supporting her grandchildren's sports and school activities, gardening, cross-stitching, and baking pies and prolific numbers of Christmas cookies to share with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert S. and Mildred H. (Hoover) Over. She is survived by her husband, Egon Borgmann, North Manchester, IN; her children, Karin (John) Borgmann-Winter, Conshohocken, PA; R. Kurt (Loyce) Borgmann, North Manchester, IN; and Kevin (Haise) Borgmann, Washington, DC; and brothers R. Stanton Over, Lake Wylie, SC and John H. Over, Roaring Spring, PA.
