Pauline B. Weddle, 95, Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, IN died at 3: 30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center. She was born April 23, 1913, on her grandparents farm in Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana to Egbert Luther & Edna (Cripe) Burger. Her mother died when she was nine weeks old and she was raised by her father and step-mother, Emma (Montel) Burger. On June 25, 1938 she married Paul E. Weddle. He died December 15, 2000. A homemaker and elementary school teacher, she taught in Ft. Wayne and South Bend schools. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in South Bend and from Manchester College. Known for her warm smile, she loved being a mother. Polly supported Habitat for Humanity, Heifer International, United Nations and Social Justice. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren. Surviving are one son, Dr. Douglas (Marie) Weddle, Shenandoah, Iowa; one sister, Josephine "Jo" Reinoehl, North Manchester, IN; one son-in-law, Dean Beery, Huntington, IN; two sisters-in-law, Lois Weddle, Nappanee, IN and Majorie Crull, North Manchester, IN. Five grandchildren, Beth (Jim) Beery-Bennett, Huntington, IN; David (Amy) Beery, Indianapolis, IN; Jodi (Brian) Holloway, Moundridge, KS; Julia Sinn, Ft. Scott, KS; Mark Weddle, Denver, CO. She was born September 2, 1921 in Sidney, IN to Riley E. & Emmaline Hale. In 1940 she married Jack O. Reiff. He died in 1988. Along with her husband, Jack, she owned and operated Reiff Radio & TV, North Manchester, IN for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Kay Bissonette, St. Helena, CA, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three sisters. Five sisters are deceased. EUGENE A. STURDEVANT, 75, FORMERLY OF NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Eugene A. Sturdevant, 75, Dunnellon, FL and formerly of North Manchester, IN & Tipton, IN, died at 6: 20 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 at his residence in Dunnellon. He was born April 5, 1933 in Flint, MI to Benjamin F. & Genevieve L. (Bernard) Sturdevant. On August 3, 1956 he married Dolores I. Deneve. He graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, in 1951. He was in the US Air Force 1951-1955. A master plumber, he retired in 1995 from plumbing and heating sales with Trane Co. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Dunnellon, FL and was a board member and serving as vice president of Rainbow Springs Property Owners Association. He is survived by his wife, Dolores I. Sturdevant, Dunnellon, FL; one son, Donald (Pamela) Strudevant, Greenville, OH; two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Cynthia) Shaffer, Wooster, OH and Debra Sturdevant, Dunnellon, FL; two brothers, George Sturdevant, Houston, TX and Benjamin Sturdevant, Kenosha, WI; one sister, Mrs. E.K. Nancy Konkle, 71, Warsaw, IN died at 11: 05 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 in Mason Health Care Center, Warsaw. She was born January 21, 1937 in Prestonsburg, KY to Rev. Reuben & Velia L. (Jenkins) Whitaker. She retired from Creighton Brothers in Warsaw in 2002 after 18 years service. Surviving are her companion, Ray Fenix, Warsaw, IN. Two sons, Howard Eugene Konkle, Bourbon, IN and Harold Edward Konkle, Palestine, IN. Three brothers, Grover Whitaker, Pierceton, IN; Paul Whitaker, Ellijay, GA and Charlie Whitaker, Myrtle Beach, SC. Four Sisters, Mrs. Smith (Fanny) Helton, Sidney, IN; Mrs. Charles (Margaret) Anderson and Mrs. Mike (Hazel) Overcash, both of Mooresville, NC and Bethel Bradford, Leesburg, FL. Nancy is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, four brothers and one sister. She attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, Claypool, IN, enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William L. Owens, 71, Silver Lake, IN died at 6: 30 a.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 in Select Specialty Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was born July 3, 1937 in Prestonsburg, KY to Jimmy & Lola (Miller) Owens. On February 9, 1963 he married Patsy J. Bucher. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Duane Owens, Warsaw, IN and Jeff (Lori) Owens, Silver Lake, IN. Four daughters, Brenda Eckert, Silver Lake, IN; Sheryl Carnes, Denton, TX; Mrs. Bryan (Carol) Severns, Mentone, IN; Mrs. Wes (Shelly) Yarian, Akron, IN. Thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mrs. Butler (Elleree) Johnson, Warsaw, IN; Jearlean Hyden, Warsaw, IN and Ada Prater, Silver Lake, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Adrian Owens. A foundry molder for 32 years, he worked at Lakeside Foundry in Warsaw, Akron Foundry, and Manchester Foundry. He owned the Lantern Cafe in Silver Lake from 1986-2006. He was a member of the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church of God, Silver Lake, IN. She was born October 1, 1944 in Fulton County, IN to Donald S. & Deloris J. (Whittenberger) Young. She attended Manchester High School, North Manchester, IN. She married Tom Kline, he is deceased. Surviving are one son, David Kline, North Manchester, IN; four brothers, Larry Young, Winston, FL, Allen Young, Disko, IN, Dennis Young, North Manchester, IN, and Randy Young, North Manchester, IN; two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Marcia) Kline, Silver Lake, IN and Mrs. Gene (Martha) Shepherd, Claypool, IN. ROBERT W. BEERY, 95, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Robert W. Beery, 95, North Manchester, IN died at 2: 50 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester. He was born January 21, 1913 in Fairfield County, OH to Percy & Grace (Bagwell) Beery. On September 3, 1938 he married Irene L. Hoover. She died June 17, 1999. At age 12, following the death of his father, the family moved to North Manchester, IN from Fairfield County, OH. He graduated from Chester High School in 1931 and from Manchester College in 1936. Following graduation from college, he taught English, Latin and coached basketball and baseball at Clay Township High School, Howard County, IN (now Northwestern High School) for two years. He then became office manager for Clay Syler at the Big Four Elevator in North Manchester, IN for four years. He then began farming with his father-in-law, Lauren Hoover, and retired in 1978. He was an active member of Manchester Church of Brethren, North Manchester, IN and a member of the Manchester College Board of Trustees for 43 years and had served as Chairman of that Board. He was active in and was the first lay moderator for the South-Central district of the Church of the Brethren. He served on the board of directors of Huntington Mutual Insurance Co. and was a member of Chester Township Farm Bureau. Bob served on the board of directors of Fairview cemetery and for many years was secretary. He was also an avid White Sox fan and played golf until age 93. Following retirement he became an accomplished pool player and he and his wife traveled extensively and volunteered with Church World Service in New Windsor, Maryland. He is survived by three sons, Leland H. (Angilee) Beery, North Manchester, IN, Stanley K. (Christine) Beery, North Manchester, IN and David L. (Barbara Jenkins) Beery, Mt. Prospect, IL; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Jeanine) Samuelson, Angola, IN; Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Five brothers and two sisters are deceased. Kathleen "Kay" Eichholtz, 54, North Manchester, IN died at 10: 30 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 in Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN. She was born February 14, 1954 in Wabash, IN to Edward L. & Phyllis M. (Troyer) Warren Sr. On May 16, 1970 she married Eldon W. Eichholtz. He survives. Also surviving are three brothers, Paul E. Warren and Calvin L. Warren, both of North Manchester, IN and Edward L. Warren Jr., Claypool, IN. Three sisters, Linda Kabat, Anderson, IN. Phyllis Harris, Bangor, MI and Mrs. Tom (Sue) Curtis, Wabash, IN. Kay was a 10 year employee of North Manchester Laundry and attened Harvest Community Church at Pierceton, IN. William E. Doster, 77, North Manchester, IN died at 6: 55 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born November 22, 1930 in Peru, IN to Elburn C. & Audrey B. (Rider), Doster. On November 21, 1952 he married Mary Lou Schnepp at the Congregational Christian Church in Servia, IN. She survives. He was a 1949 graduate of Chester High School, North Manchester, IN. He served during the Korean War, 1951-1954, in the US Marine Corp. William was a tool & die maker at General Tire, Wabash, IN for 38 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, IN. In addition to his wife, Mary Lou Doster, he is survived by one son, Douglas Doster, Goshen, IN; two daughters, Annette Doster, North Manchester, IN and Sara Doster, Wisconsin; two granchildren, Lyle Doster & Sabrina Doster. WELDON F. BELL, 81, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Weldon F. Bell, 81, North Manchester, IN and formerly of Richland Township, Miami County, IN died at 12: 05 p.m. Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in his residence. He was born in Miami County, IN on November 21, 1926 to John Q. & Martha (Coblentz) Bell. On January 22, 1954 he married Glorea A. Grossnickle. She survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Sharlyn K. Bell, Lori A. Bell, Sandra D. Bell, and Jennifer L. Bell, all of North Manchester, IN. One sister, Lillian (Michael) Lawrence, Denver, IN. An accountant in North Manchester for 45 years, he was a farmer and US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict in Japan. COLLEEN FELABOM, 81, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Colleen Felabom, 81, North Manchester, IN after an 8 month battle with colon cancer, succumbed at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Ft. Wayne, IN and ascended into Heaven on September 27, 2008 to be with her Heavenly Father and join her worldly father, mother, brother and sister. She was born in Kosciusko County, Indiana March 23, 1927 to Jonas & Dorothy (Metzger) Yoder. On February 4, 1946 she married Wayne Helvey. He is deceased. On March 17, 1995 she married Richard Felabom. He died February 18, 2000. Surviving are one son, Joe Helvey, Utah. Two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Kitty) Bick, Rochester, IN and Mindy Rykard, Ft. Wayne, IN. Two step-sons, James Felabom, Indianapolis, IN and Rich Felabom, Warsaw, IN. Four step-daughters, Jane Middlekauff, Indianapolis, IN; Jeannine Felabom Basquin, New Zealand; Mrs. Ron (Joyce) Eberly, North Manchester, IN; Mrs. Tom (Dixie) Pifer, Warsaw, IN. Two brothers, Daniel (Jan) Yoder, Claypool, IN and Richard (Marilyn) Yoder, Goshen, IN. Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother John Yoder, and one sister Sally Yoder. Colleen was a homemaker and had worked at Mutual Security Insurance in Ft. Wayne. She was born in Kosciusko County, IN on June 18, 1925 to Ray & May (Brandenburg) Walgamuth. On January 4, 1947 she married Omer D. Betten. He died November 11, 1999. Surviving are one brother, Robert Walgamuth, South Whitley, IN ; two sisters, Mrs. James (Patsy) Rittenhouse, New Haven, IN and Doris Newman, Waynedale, IN. A homemaker, she had also worked at the former Brake Lining Factory at north Manchester. Violet was a member of the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church and a 1944 graduate of Chester High School. WIKKY G. SCHANNEP, 68, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Wikky G. Schannep, 68, North Manchester, IN died at 3: 05 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 in his residence. He was born September 21, 1940 in South Whitley, IN to Virgil & Frances (Pence) Schannep. On September 14, 1963 he married Barbara Stoops. She survives. Also surviving are three sons; Rikky (Jessica) Schannep, Warsaw, IN, Danny (Abby) Schannep and Denny (Heather) Schannep, both of North Manchester. Seven grandchildren. One brother, Tim Schannep, Chicago, IL, two sisters, Mrs. James (Connie) Vinton, Wilmington, DE and Mrs. Bob (Darlene) Lane, Ft. Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by two sons and three brothers. Wikky was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving as an aircraft mechanic in Germany during the Vietnam War. A 1959 graduate of Central High School he was a member of Deming Lodge # 88 F & AM, Moose Lodge # 1518, and American Legion Post # 286, all at North Manchester. He was born January 4, 1943 in Huntington County, IN to Richard E. & Loretta (Peterson) Shenefield. On July 16, 1966 he married Nancy Frieden. She survives. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1962 and served in the Indiana National Guard 1963-1969. Mark was employed with Strauss & Co. Elevator, Silver Lake, IN. He then worked at BKB Mfg., North Manchester, IN and has worked at Wabash Valley Mfg., Silver Lake, IN since September 1995. Marcella Marie Stackhouse, 69, rural Roann, IN died at 7: 28 a.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, Ohio. She was born April 2, 1939 in Fulton County, IN to Carl R. & Bertha M. (Stafford) Floor. On February 18, 2006 she married James Stackhouse. He passed away on January 20, 2008. Surviving are a daughter, Anita Drudge, Hicksville, OH and a son, David Drudge, Huntington, IN. Two brothers, Tom Floor, Roann, IN and Gene Floor, Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters. Marcella was a 1957 graduate of Laketon High School and retired in 2002 from the former Controls Co., North Manchester after 44 years of service. SERVICES WILL BE HELD THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2008 AT 11: 00 A.M. IN SILVER CREEK cemetery, 6504 W 1300 S, SILVER LAKE, IN. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate.

Ethel Alice Reiken Kneller, 98, North Manchester, IN died at 8: 45 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Wabash Skilled Care, Wabash, IN. She was born June 2, 1910 in Servia, IN to Tony W. & Cassie (Bomgarden) Reiken. On September 27, 1954 she married Carl A. Kneller. He died July 1, 1992. She was a homemaker and farm wife and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester, IN. She is survived by one brother, Ralph Reiken, North Manchester, IN and two nieces, Toni Dock Miller, Mokena, IL and Julie Dock Jones, Kinmundy, IL. Two sisters, Minnie Harms and Grace Dock are deceased. SERVICES: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2008 AT 2: 00 P.M. AT DELAUGHTER-MCKEE MORTUARY, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN. DONALD WILLIAM HOFFMAN, 78, NORTH MANCHESTER, IN
Donald William Hoffman, 78, North Manchester, IN died at his residence at 11: 30 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2008. He was born February 10, 1930 in Peru, IN to Ellis & Mary (Keim) Hoffman. On December 18, 1982 he married Sharon (Smith) Reimer. She survives. He was a farmer and retired salesman at Kerlin Tractor Sales, Silver Lake, IN. Former owner of Hoffman Furniture, North Manchester, IN and Hoffman Trucking. He was also a truck driver for Pierceton Trucking, Laketon, IN. Graduated from Gilead High School, Gilead, IN. He was a member of Moose Lodge, Deming Lodge #88, Eel River Shrine Club & Izaak Walton League, all of North Manchester, IN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Dennis (Gretchen) Hoffman, Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Mrs. Pete (Marianne) McElroy, Fort Myers, FL and Sandra Hoffman Martin, Fort Myers, FL; four step sons, Jr. (Cheryl) Reimer, Pierceton, IN; Ronnie Reimer, Tampa, FL; Tim (Elena) Reimer, Oceanside, CA and Curt (Diana) Reimer, Servia, IN; one step daughter, Mrs. Dana (Melody) Jones, Lincolnville, IN; one brother, Dean (Dee) Hoffman, North Manchester, IN; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.
