Doris I. Thomas

Doris I. Thomas, 84, of 214 N. Tamarack St., Warsaw, died on 10/5/2008 at 10:50 am at Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born on July 5, 1924 in Warsaw, Indiana.

Doris was a lifetime residence of Warsaw. She was a member of the Warsaw Trinity United Methodist Church since early childhood.
Employeed by United Telephone Company. Working for Sears then retiring after fifthteen years with Sears. Her parents were Joseph R. and Gusta Mae (Harley) Scott. Doris married Gerald Emmert Thomas on October 11, 1942
Doris is survived by her husband Gerald E. Thomas, Warsaw a daughter Sandra K. Nellans Warsaw. A son Richard "Rick" and his wife Penny Thomas of Warsaw. Doris has four grandchildren Stacy Jones,Warsaw; Scot Thomas, Pace FL; Shawn Thomas, Avon OH;Tiffany Thomas, Indianapols IN., Five great grandchildren Jordan Jones, Connor, Dylan, Garrett and Carmen Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parent and one sister

Services will be held at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel - Warsaw on Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Calling hours will be 4-8 pm at the funeral chapel on Tuesday October 7, 2008. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery - Warsaw, IN.

Henrietta R. Koher

Henrietta R. Koher, 91, of 337 Grace village Drive, Winona Lake, died on 10/3/2008 at 2:40 pm at Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake. She was born on March 27, 1917 in Kendallville, Indiana.

Henrietta was born to Henry Enoch and Freda Ernestine (Frurip) Reyher. On August 1, 1941, she married Woody Gerard Koher, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2005.
A lifelong Teacher, she graduated from Ball State Teachers College, Muncie, and later from Grace College, with a Masters in Education. She taught a number of years in Cromwell and at Jefferson School, Winona Lake for 30 years.
A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she is survived by a Son; Douglas (and spouse Rebecca) Koher, Winona Lake, Indiana
a Granddaughter; Angela (and spouse John) Mataluce, Clearwater, Florida
a Grandson; Mathew (and spouse Angie) Koher, Indianapolis, Indiana
a Son-In-Law; Donald Cole, Beaver Dam Lake, Indiana
a Granddaugher; Kristi (and spouse John) Vandygriffe, Mishawaka, Indiana
a Grandson; Garth (and spouse Danielle) Cole, Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
Also 3 Great Granddaughters, 6 Great Grandsons and several Nephews and Nieces.
Henrietta was preceded in death by a Daughter, Lizbeth Cole, her Parents, a Sister, Elizabeth and a Brother, Jacob.

Services will be held at Graveside Service at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw, Indiana.

Rebecca Ousley-Tackett

Rebecca Ousley-Tackett, 83, of 1332 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, Indiana, died on 10/1/2008 at 4:45 am at her residence. She was born on August 1, 1925 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

Rebecca is the daughter of Layne and Sally (Blackburn) Compton. She has been a resident of Kosciusko County since 1946.
Rebecca married Hubert Tackett on May 12, 2001. She worked as a DeBurer for Whitley Products, Pierceton for 38 years. She was a member of Northern Little Dove Regular Baptist Church, Pierceton.

3 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents, 1 Daughter, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 7:00 pm and also Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00 am at Northern Little Dove Regular Baptist Church, Pierceton, Indiana.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 2:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral chapel and also from Friday, October 3, 2008 from 10:00 am until time of service at the church.

Burial will be at Hillcrest cemetery, Pierceton, Indiana.

Leonard R. Bloom

Leonard R. Bloom, 80, of 212 Wedrick Drive, Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/24/2008 at 3:36 pm at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on February 2, 1928 in Warsaw, Indiana.

Leonard is the son of Clarence and Edna (Drudge) Bloom. He was a lifetime resident of Warsaw, Indiana.
Leonard married Joane Zimmer in 1953 in Angola, Indiana. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Leonard served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1949 - 1951 with the Military Police.
He worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation as a Construction Engineer.
Leonard was a member of St. Annes Episcopal Church, Warsaw, Elks Club, Warsaw and the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw.
He is survived by 2 Sons;

Services will be held at St. Annes Episcopal Church, Warsaw, Indiana on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 10:00 am. Calling hours will be 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the church on Monday, September 29, 2008. Burial will be at St. Annes Columbarium, St. Annes Episcopal Church.

Virgil Ray Stephens, 62, of 5597 E. 700 S., Pierceton, Indiana, died on 9/24/2008 at 10:15 am at Roudebush V.A. Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on March 7, 1946 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.

Virgil is the son of Robert and Bureda (Clark) Stephens. He was a resident of Kosciusko County for 48 years. He married Ruby Bailey on April 7, 1965 in Pierceton, Indiana.
Virgil retired from N&G; Gilberts Tree Service and was a member of the American Legion Post #253, North Webster, Indiana.

Max Eldon Fribley

Max Eldon Fribley, 85, of Warsaw, Indiana, died on 9/23/2008 at 9:12 am at Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1923 in Etna Green, Indiana.

Max was born to Harley and Ruth (Bailey) Fribley. He was a native of Etna Green, also living in North Webster and Hoffman Lake before moving to Warsaw in 1947. He married Barbara Snyder on May 30, 1947 in Plymouth, Indiana.
he worked for Ethan Kaufman Gas Station and then for Cover All Rental, where he was district manager for the last 5 years before retiring in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in France, Germany and Austria.
He volunteered at the Geneology Section of the Historical Society and liked to restore old cars. He won the State Dairy Cow Judging Competition while in high school.
