Elmer M. Stiles
PLYMOUTH – Elmer M. Stiles, 88, a lifelong resident of Plymouth, died of natural causes on
Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at 8:35 p.m. in his home, Plymouth.

The son of Charles and Mary (Lowry) Stiles, Elmer was born in Plymouth on July 15, 1919 and
attended Plymouth schools.

On June 3, 1946, in Plymouth, Elmer and Myrtle F. Geller were married . Myrtle died on July 19,
1999.

Elmer was a truck driver for Marshall County Beverage for 36 years. He retired in 1981.

He loved to hunt and work outside in his yard.

Elmer is survived by four sons and three daughters. His sons are Elmer D. (Alice), Donald E.
(Diane), Richard (Hatsuko), and Delmas M. (Marcia) Stiles, all of Plymouth. Two daughters are
from Plymouth: Betty J. Sarna and Sheryl K. (Karl) Johnson. Wanda J. Stiles lives in Connecticut

Sixteen grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren also survive together
with many nieces and nephews.

Elmer was preceded in death by six brothers, four sisters and one grandson, Damon Stiles.

Elmer’s family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.

Funeral services for Elmer will follow visitation on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the funeral
home. The Rev. Delmas Stiles will officiate.

Burial will be in the Tyner cemetery, Tyner.

Memorial gifts in Elmer’s memory may be made to the Good News Baptist Church, Plymouth.

Michael Ryan Tremaine
PLYMOUTH – Michael Ryan Tremaine, 29 a lifetime resident of Plymouth, passed away at his
home, on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.

The son of Michael J. and Sandra K. (Chally) Tremaine, Mike was born in Plymouth, on Jan. 21,
1978. He was Baptized and Confirmed in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, where he
attended grammar school. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1997
where he played in varsity football and baseball.

On Dec. 31, 1999, in Plymouth, Mike and Julie A. Dove were married .

He liked the outdoors and had worked for Gardenview Landscaping, Inc. of Plymouth and
recently in production for the Polygon Company of Walkerton.

Mike enjoyed country and oldies music and fishing with his children and helping coach their Tball
and basketball teams. He was a sportsman who loved golf, followed NASCAR and the
Indianapolis Colts. Mike was also a member of the Plymouth Country Club and the Plymouth
Bowlers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Julie, and five children: a daughter, Jessica K. Rose-Tremaine and
four sons: Timothy M., Austin D., Ryan J. and Landon R. Tremaine, all of Plymouth.

Mike’s parents, Mike and Sandy Tremaine and his mother-in-law, Carol A. Dove, all of Plymouth,
also survive together with two sisters, Stacy L. Tremaine and Brittney A. Tremaine, both of
Plymouth, and a brother, Jason D. Johnson, Oswego, Ill.

Lois L. Smith, Oswego, Ill., Mike’s maternal grandmother, also survives together with his
maternal grandfather, Robert M. Chally, Louisville, Ky., and Joseph L. Tremaine, paternal
grandfather, Maple Park, Ill. And Maria Tremaine, paternal grandmother, Aurora, Ill.

Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive Mike’s passing.

Friends are invited by Mike’s family to share memories and celebrate his life with them on

Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N.
Michigan St., Plymouth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in St. Michael’s
Roman Catholic Church, 613 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. Father William Kummer will
officiate.

Burial will follow in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts in Mike’s memory will benefit the Tremaine children at any Lake City Bank.

Carolyn M. Coplen Kowalski
Carolyn M. Coplen Kowalski passed away at home in Ormond Beach with her family on Nov.
19. She was born on Feb. 2, 1948 in Plymouth.

She is survived by her beloved husband Tom; her parents, Carl and Betty Coplen of Avon Park,
Fla.; her two sons: Levi LeDuc of Ormond Beach and Tagg LeDuc of Severna Park, Md. Also,
her two sisters: Pat Bodensteiner and her husband Don of Rapid City, S.D., Cathie Gorden of
Daytona Beach and her brother Gerald Coplen of Dowagiac, Mich. As well as many nieces and
nephews.

Carolyn graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis. In her early years, she showed a
desire for involvement in different organizations as well as undertake new and challenging
activities. One of these earlier accomplishments included getting her private pilots license and
flying a floatplane on remote lakes in northern Maine. Her later years showed much involvement
in the local community. In addition to her position as Mortgage Loan Officer with Contemporary
Mortgage, she was involved with the Arlington Garden Club, the Executive Women’s Golf
Association, the Daytona Beach Board of Realtors, the Woman’s Council of Realtors, the Halifax
River yacht Club, and Adopt-A-Child of the Daytona Beach Board of Realtors. As a member of
the yacht club, Carolyn held the position of commandeer as well as chairman for many events.
Additionally, as member of the yacht club, she raced and won many sailboat races. These
sailboat races and her presence on the ocean led her to be drawn to the Caribbean where she
was at peace the most. The British Virgin Islands is a place in this small world that captured the
love of someone with such a large heart.

In memory of Carolyn Kowalski and the life she led, a memorial service was held Nov. 26 at
Lohman Funeral Home on 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, Fla. At 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Volusia / Flagler and Adopt-A-Child with
the Daytona Beach Board of Realtors.

Linda L. Combs
KNOX — Linda L. Combs, 65, of Knox, died Tuesday, Nov. 20 at LaPorte Hospital.

She is survived by a daughter, Angela (Alan) Harrington of LaPorte; son, Mark (Amanda) Combs
of Knox; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters: Nancy Brown and Pat Boggs, both
of LaPorte.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. (CT) at Souls Harbor Church, North Judson, and
Saturday, Nov. 24 after 11 a.m. (CT) at the church.

Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 24 at 1 p.m. (CT) at the church.

Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.

Marjorie V. Madden
PLYMOUTH — Marjorie V. Madden, 87, of 1011 West Harrison St., Plymouth, passed away at
6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.

Marjorie was born Aug. 8, 1920 in Inwood to Loyd and Minnie (Gerrard) Conner. Marjorie and
Paul J. Madden were married Dec. 1, 1939 in South Bend. Together they raised their four
children. Paul preceded Marjorie in death on Sept. 9, 2000. They had been residents of the
Marshall County area all of their lives.

Marjorie will be sadly missed by her family, who were so proud of her, for obtaining her G.E.D. at
age 73. Marjorie enjoyed sewing and crocheting as well as many other talents she shared with
her family. She retired from R.R.Donnelley and Sons, Warsaw, as a production clerk.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Paula and Tim Wilson of Plymouth and Sharon and Jack
Lambie of Plymouth; her sons: Tom and Rita Madden of Indianapolis and James and Jan
Madden of South Bend; eight grandchildren: David Lambie of Connecticut, Paul Lambie of
Indianapolis, Jason and Julie Madden of Indianapolis, Justin and Lisa Rentz of Plymouth, Holly
Madden of Indianapolis, Wendy and Keith Koch of Indianapolis, Angela Rentz of South Bend,
and Amanda Rentz of Missouri; three great-grandchildren: Logan Koch, Addison Koch, and
Bailey Madden all of Indianapolis; her sister, Valerie Smith of Inwood; and several nieces and
nephews.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her sisters: Marcile Ritter, Phyllis Grubbs
and Zenith Gibson; her brothers: Karl Gibson, Milton Gibson and Edward Gibson.

Funeral services for Marjorie will be held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at the Van Gilder
Funeral Home in Plymouth. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

A time of visiting with the Madden Family, will be Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 from 11 a.m. to 1:30
p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

The Madden Family would like for memorial contributions be given to the Center for Hospice and
Palliative Care, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, IN, 46563.

Shirley N. Fulton
ROCHESTER — Shirley N. Fulton, 73, of Rochester, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 at home.

She is survived by daughters: Vicki (James) Onstott of Rochester, Ronna L. (Ralph) Graham of
Roanoke Rapids, N.C. and Jill (Glen) Buttrum of Washburn, Mo.; sons: Alan A. (Vicki) Fulton of
Rochester, David W. (Linda) Fulton of Akron and Dennis D. (Debbie) Fulton of Bourbon; 17
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Beverly Ryan of Syracuse; and sister-in-law,
Roberta Fulton of Warsaw.

Visitation is Friday, Nov. 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the
Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.

Funeral services are Saturday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Rochester IOOF cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County.

Hoy Manns
KNOX — Hoy Manns, 87, of Denham, Ind. died Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Wintersong Village Nursing Home.

Born May 17, 1920 in Breathitt Co., Ky., to Nero and Eunice (Risner) Manns, he was married to
Joy (Rowe) Manns in his home county March 4, 1938. His wife preceded him in death.

A retired coal worker, he is survived by a daughter, Judy Cloud, of Winamac; son-in-law Bob
Minix of North Judson; daughter Dorothy Dunn, of Denham; daughter Kathy Minix, of Knox; son
Adam Manns, LaPorte; son Burl Manns of North Judson; and son David Manns, of Sommerset,
Ky. In addition to his wife, a daughter, Ora Lee Minix, and a son, Garland Manns, precede him in
death.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, Knox. Services will
be officiated by the Rev. Arnold Minix at the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 24, 1 p.m. Burial at
Denham cemetery.

Marsha A. (Christman) Neiswender
PLYMOUTH — Marsha A. (Christman) Neiswender, 47, of Plymouth, died at 4:43 p.m.,
Wednesday, Nov. 21, at her home after battling a long illness.

Marsha is survived by her mother, Pasty Torres of Fort Wayne; her father, Larry Christman of
Plymouth; her children, Subrena Smith of Decatur, Etta Sammartano of Bourbon, Samantha
Dodson, Heather Harmon, Cory Swope and Brittney Swope, all of Plymouth, and Billy Swope of
Inwood; seven grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.

There is no visitation or funeral service.

Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.
