Agnes R. Shei
PLYMOUTH – Agnes R. Shei, 79, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
She is survived by four daughters: Peggy Mattox, Susan Danielson, Sara Jolly and Katherine
Graves, along with a sister, Gail West.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral
Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth where a Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in St. Michael Catholic
Church.
Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Conrad Bradley
Conrad Bradley, 75, passed away Dec. 27, 2007, at his home in Palm City, Fla., where he had
lived for 38 years.
Conrad was born in Plymouth in 1932, and was the oldest son of Ellsworth and Evelyn Bradley.
Conrad had been a member of the Stuart, Fla., Moose Lodge #1282 since 1979. He was a
journeyman electrician for 50 years beginning in 1970.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Catherine (Sutton) Bradley of Palm City; his daughters,
Rebecca Lovern of Huntsville, Ala., Brenda Scherer of Plymouth, Lucy Collins of North Carolina,
Christina Spencer of Tennessee, and Melissa Johnson of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; his sons, Michael
T. Bradley of Plymouth, Arthur O’Connor Spencer of Tennessee, James Cooper of Fort Pierce,
Fla., and James Wethington Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; his brothers, Stan Bradley of Hobe
Sound, Fla. And Gene Bradley of Plymouth; his grandchildren; and his great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Patrick A. Bradley.
Services were held, with a celebration of his life, at the Moose Lodge in Stuart, Fla.
All County Funeral Home & Crematory, Treasure Coast Chapel, Stuart, Florida, handled the
arrangements. Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, IN, 46563, is
handling the local arrangements.

Robert Gene Elliott
Robert Gene Elliott, 79, 61930 Scott St., South Bend, formerly of Tippecanoe, died Dec. 28,
2007 at 9:30 p.m. at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, following a length illness. He was born
Dec. 29, 1927 in Argos, to Harvey and Lillie (Snyder) Elliott and lived in South Bend since 1966.
He married Gertrude M. Feece on Aug. 20, 1950 in Plymouth. He worked at Bendix in South
Bend and was a Garage
Supervisor. He retired in 1982. He served his country in the United States Army from March 13,
1946 to Sept. 12, 1947. He was a life member of American Legion Post#424 of Bourbon, and
was a former member of American Legion Post#50 in South Bend. He was a graduate of
Tippecanoe High School, class of 1945. He is survived by his wife; Gertrude Elliott; three sons:
Mark (Susan) Elliott of Bristol, Ind.; Paul Elliott of Woodstock, Ill.; David (Linda) Elliott of Fort
Wayne; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and one brother: William "Jake"
(Barbara) Elliott of Bourbon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends visited with the family on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the EarlGrossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos, IN 46501 As was his wishes a private
family services will be on Monday, Dec. 31, 2007. Burial will be held at a later date. Military rites
will be preformed by American Legion Post #424 of Bourbon. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Center for Hospice& Palliative Care: 112 S. Center St., Suite C, Plymouth, IN 46563
and the Lung Association; 115 W. Washington St., Suite 1180 S. Indianapolis, IN 46204
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Ruth Mae McNear
Ruth Mae McNear died of natural causes at 10:06 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at her
residence, 908 W. Washington St., Plymouth.
Ruth was 80 years old. Born in Tipton on Aug. 27, 1927, Ruth was the daughter of Emerson and
Marjorie Wheatley McColley. She graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1945. On
Nov. 5, 1949, she and Max McNear were married . They moved to Plymouth in 1964, and
operated the Old Dutch Dairy at the corner of Jefferson and Michigan streets. She also worked
in the circulation department of the Pilot News and until September of this year was still hard at
work at The Little Store, located on 5th Street. Ruth enjoyed the game of euchre and played
three times a week at the Moose Lodge and the Life Enrichment Senior Center.
She is survived by Max, her devoted husband of 58 years and by their daughter, Cindy and
Bruce Burkart, South Bend, and their son, Michael McNear and his companion Elaine Best, both
of Orefield, Pa. Four grandchildren also survive. They are Cindy and Bruce's children: Bruce
Burkart, Jr. and Amy Utz, both of South Bend and Mike's children: Emily McNear, Orefield and
Jeff Barbary, Exton, Pa. Five great-grandchildren survive as well. They are: Abbie, Michael and
Chloe Utz and Frederyk and Finlea Burkart. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: two
brothers, Norman and Herman and two sisters, Helen and Laveda.
Friends are invited to celebrate the life of Ruth Mae McNear on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008, from
2 to 6 p.m. in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Funeral
services, officiated by the Rev. Dr.
Dean Fager, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will be held in the funeral home
following visitation at 6 p.m. Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth. Memorial gifts in
Ruth's memory are asked to be given to the
St. Vincent's Childrens' Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.

Audrey V. Lee
PLYMOUTH - Audrey V. Lee, 75, died at her home, 701 Pennsylvania Ave., Plymouth, at 10:10
p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007. Audrey was born in Baskin, La., on July 12, 1932, the daughter
of Athel C. and Mammie Burch Houston.
On March 12, 1949, in Mississippi she and Charles "Bud" Lee were married . Charles died in
1971. Audrey had lived in Plymouth since 1992 and through the course of her life she had
worked as a bookkeeper, photographer, and a registered dietician, but she excelled in being a
loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
After Audrey's retirement, she turned to crafting and quilting with an enthusiastic zeal. For 15
years, she and her daughter, Brenda, with whom she lived, had booths to sell their exquisite
handiwork. She was a regular at the

Marshall County Blueberry Festival since 1993. Audrey said once of her prodigious quilting
talents, "if it doesn't move, I can quilt it!" Audrey loved to travel all over the world but especially
enjoyed visiting her sons in Australia every year. No matter where she went, locally or abroad,
her one true passion was giving her testimony of her relationship with the Lord
Jesus Christ and all that He had done for her, right to the end, which she would tell to everyone
she came into contact with.
Audrey is survived by her two daughters Brenda G. and Kiler Richards, Plymouth, and Terry J.
and Willy Smith, Parsons, Tenn.; two sons Charles C. "Chuck" Lee, Brisbane, Australia., and
Jesse C. Lee, Sydney, Australia. Eight grandchildren also survive. They are: Angela Nolan,
Plymouth; Kimberly Ceballos, Culver; Mark Richards, Toledo, Ohio; Josh Richards, Phoenix,
Ariz.; Christopher and Douglas Lee, both of Dallas, Texas; Justen "Alex" Lee, Mishawaka, and
Cindy Whitsett, Jackson, Tenn..Audrey has 16 surviving great-grandchildren. They are: Chase,
Kada, Danielle, Ashley, Garrett, Michael, Karah, Scott, Sam, Ellenora, Inez and Jazmin, Melissa,
Austin, Grant, and Brylee.Pauline S. Houston, Audrey's step-mother of Monroe, La., also
survives together with three brothers: Glenn, Gerald, and Vernon Houston.She was preceded in
death by her husband, three brothers, a sister and a great-grandson.
Her family invites friends to share memories and celebrate the life of their mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth.
Funeral services for Audrey will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Plymouth Baptist Church 11345 9A
Road, Plymouth on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008. The Rev. Doug Jividen, pastor of the Plymouth
Baptist Church where she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery.
Audrey requested that memorial contributions in her name be made to the Plymouth
Baptist Church Building Fund.

Barbara Lou Miller
Barbara Lou Miller, 80, of Plymouth, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at Saint Joseph
Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, following a brief illness.
She was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Columbia City to Henry O. and Doris (Burnworth) Meier. She
married Robert C.
Miller in Columbia City, who survives. She lived in Marshall County for the last 20 years coming
from Columbia City. A homemaker, she owned and operated a beauty shop for many years in
her home in Columbia City. Barbara enjoyed many crafts, especially crocheting, but most of all
she enjoyed her family and the many friends she had through her life. She attended Big Lake
Church of God in Columbia City and was a graduate of the class of 1945 from Columbia City
High School.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert C. Miller; son, John (Shari) Miller of
Plymouth; two grandchildren: Bill (Julia) Miller of Plymouth and Jodi Coyle of Columbia City; four
great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marilyn Darr of North Manchester and Mildred (Paul) Hadley of
Florida; and one brother, Phillip (Betty) Meier of Woodstock, Ill. She was preceded in death by
her parents; son, Robert W. Miller; and three brothers: John, Don and Louis Meier.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, Jan. 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral
Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos. Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at the funeral home
with Rev. Rob Mace officiating. Burial
will follow at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor's choice. Envelopes
will be available at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Mary Ellen Nickles
ARGOS - Mary Ellen Nickles, 85, of Argos, passed away at 2:24 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend.
She was born September 21, 1922 in Frankfort to the late Jennings Allison and Helen
Marguerite (Butcher) Miller, and lived in North Liberty, Texas, Florida and most recently, Argos.
On June 29, 1940 in Lebanon, she married Carl Eugene Nickles, who preceded her in death on
August 6, 1977. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Irene Dunlap of San Antonio, Texas;
three sons, Nelson Eugene Nickles of Walkerton, Jack Marion (and Kathleen Moncrieff) Nickles
of Elkhart and Donald Leroy (Yvonne) Nickles of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren; 23
great-grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Bevis of Elkhart.
Two sisters, Betty Pauline Rayles and Elsie Louise Clark preceded her in death. Mary was an
artist who loved to create oil paintings. At one time or another, she had made an oil painting for
all of the kids and grandchildren on subjects
they enjoyed. She loved her family, playing scrabble, caring for her numerous house plants and
was one of the best chocolate chip cookie bakers. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at Palmer Funeral Home, Lakeville. Burial
will follow at Fair cemetery, North Liberty.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of
Mary Ellen Nickles may be made to Palmer Funeral Home to help defray funeral costs.

Mildred J. Nolcheff
KOONTZ LAKE - Mildred J. Nolcheff, 103, of Winchester, formerly of Hobart and Koontz Lake,
died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at St. Vincent Randolph Hospital in Winchester.
She is survived by daughter, Johanna (Eugene) Richardson of Winchester; sons: Krist (Karen)
Nolcheff of Knox and Dorian (Betty) Sobat of Florida; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;
and a brother, Eli Sobat of Portage.
Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 7 at 11 a.m. CST at Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake
Chapel. Visitation is Sunday, Jan. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. CST and Monday after 10 a.m. until the
time of services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calumet Park cemetery, Merrillville at 2:30
p.m.
Memorials may be made to Koontz Lake Missionary Church, 8044 N. S.R. 23, Walkerton, IN
46574.

Dewey R. Troyer
KNOX - Dewey R. Troyer, 73, of Knox, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Starke Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie of Knox; sons: Tim (Claudia) Troyer, Brian Troyer, Irvin
Troyer, Jeff (Amelia) Troyer, Rick Troyer and Dewey Troyer Jr., all of Knox; two grandchildren;
brothers: John Troyer of Argos, Charlie Troyer
of Knox and Tom Troyer of California; and sisters: Arlene Ritchie, Ruth Ann Minix, Carolyn
Hensley, all of Knox, and Darlene Badsk of Colorado.
Visitation is Friday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. CST at the Community Church of Monterey until the time of
services at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery, Knox.
Memorials may be made to the church. Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel, is handling the
arrangements.
