Beulah "Bee" Burkett
Beulah Belle Burkett, 98, died on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Woodbridge Health Campus,
Logansport.
She is survived by daughters: Joyce A. Good of Rochester and Carolyn (Bruce) Hodgson of
Cadillac, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Alice Wagoner of
Rochester.
Visitation is Friday, March 2 from 3 to 8 p.m. or from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on
Saturday at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 3 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to The Guardian Angel Hospice of Logansport, Hope Hospice of Fulton
County or the Jayne A. Good Memorial Scholarship Fund/Northern Indiana Community Foundation.

Kenneth M. Kaminski
PLYMOUTH — Kenneth M. Kaminski, 75, of 635 W. Oakhill Ave., Plymouth, formerly of Argos,
died at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth, following an extended
illness. He was born on July 14, 1931 in Chicago, Ill. to James and Anna (Sobkwiak) Kaminski.
On March 6, 1952 he married Betty Jean Anderson in Henrietta, Texas. They moved to the
Argos community in 1955.
Kenneth served his country from 1951 to 1955 with active service in the United States Air Force
and was honorably discharged on Nov. 14, 1959 from the United States Air Force Reserve. He
was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. He retired after 21 years of teaching at
Wabash Vocational School.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. Kaminski of Plymouth; daughter, Susan Shafer of Plymouth;
son, Marvin (Beverly) Kaminski of Argos; grandchildren: Shanan Shafer, Shalon (Tim) Paterson,
Shelly (Kevin) Longson, and Brittany and Rochelle Kaminski; great-grandchildren: Jordon
Shafer, Rhiley and Paige Shafer and Samantha Paterson; sisters: Shirley (Harold) Snodgrass of
Peoria, Ariz., Patricia Green of Walkerton and Janet (Denny) Russell of Colon, Mich.; brother,
John (Kathy) Kaminski of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kaminski.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, March 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the EarlGrossman
Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark
Fishburn officiating.
Burial will be at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos, with military graveside rites performed by James
Lowell Corey, American Legion Post #68 of Argos.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Argos Community Schools, Dollars for Scholars,
Attn: Eugene Cooper, Treasurer, 18707 Michigan Rd., Argos, IN 46501. Envelopes will be
available at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted with the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Charlene Williams
PLYMOUTH — Charlene L. Williams, 75, of 17149 Lincoln Highway West, Apartment #1,
Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007 at Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
Charlene was born on July 18, 1931 in Brooklyn, Ill. To Jesse and Edness (Daniels) Hale. She
married Lawrence Williams on Nov. 11, 1950. He passed away on June 29, 1985. She worked
for Marshall County Parkview Hospital and Saint Joseph Hospital, in the housekeeping department.
Charlene is survived by her children, Mickie (Peter) Dutcher of Culver, Cheryl (Ronald) Beatty of
Plymouth, Larry Williams of Carlisle, Jimmie (Tina) Williams of Plymouth, Bobby Williams of
Plymouth, Bea Williams of Plymouth and Betty Williams of Plymouth; 17 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Pat and her
granddaughter, Holly L. Schoff.
Services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison
St., Plymouth, with Pastor Darrell Cardwell officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery,
Plymouth.
A time of sharing memories and visiting with the family will be Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6
to 8 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the choice of the donor.

D. Ray Minnix
LAPAZ – D. Ray Minnix, 64, a lifetime area resident, died at his residence, following an illness at 9:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007.
He was born in Knox on May 27, 1942, the son of Gomer and Ruby Jackson Minix.
He attended Walkerton High School.
While serving in the United States Army with the Military Police, he was acknowledged to be the youngest M.P. in the troops.
Ray was a machinist. He retired from the Bendix Corp. in South Bend.
He loved fast sports cars, beautiful women and played a great game of pool.
He will be missed by his many friends and family members.
Ray was a member of the LaPaz American Legion Post 385.
He is survived by a daughter and a son. They are Tina and Steve Phipps, Warsaw and Tracy and Renee Minnix, Syracuse.
Three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a sister, Judy and Harold Farver, Plymouth, survive as well.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Gomer Minix, his mother, Ruby Wireman, a daughter, Carol Ann Minnix and a son, Troy Minnix.
Graveside services, including military rites by the LaPaz American Legion, will be held in the Bremen cemetery, Bremen, Indiana, at a later date.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1110 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial gifts in memory of Ray may be made to the Warsaw Animal Welfare League or the Warsaw 24 Hour Club.

D. Ray Minnix
LAPAZ – A memorial service for D. Ray Minnix will be held on Sunday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at the
American Legion Hall, 302 Kentucky St., Walkerton, to celebrate his life.
Ray passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in his home in LaPaz. He is survived by one daughter
and two sons: Tina (Steve) Phipps of Warsaw, Tracey (Renee) Minnix of Syracuse and Andrew
Williams of North Liberty and a sister, Judy (Harold) Farver of Plymouth. His special lady was Carol Stafford of Phoenix, Ariz..
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Minnix, Syracuse; a son, Troy Minnix, Syracuse; his mother, Ruby Wireman, LaPaz and his father, Gomer Minnix, Silver Lake.
Ray attended Walkerton High School, leaving at 17 to join the Army. While in the Army, Ray excelled in marksmanship and joined the Military Police. He was the youngest M.P. in the United
States Army at that time. After the Army, he was employed at Bendix Corporation where he retired in 2000 after 32 years.
Ray was an avid movie collector and an excellent pool player. In his prime, he was known as one of the best in the area. He owned a Recreation Parlor in the early 1960s in Walkerton. Ray had a great sense of humor and leaves many friends and family to mourn his loss.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Kathleen E. Sherk
Bremen -- Kathleen E. Sherk, 81, of Bremen, died at 12:2 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at
Community Hospital of Bremen.
She is survived by her husband, Dale J. Sherk of Bremen, Daughter Linda (James) Moore of
New Buffalo, Mich; son, Kevin Sherk and companion Rosalie Thacker of Bremen; Sister,
Josephine Bowlby of Elkhart; one grandchild and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at a later date and burial will be at Olive (West) cemetery,
Wakarusa.
Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ, Woodland or the American Red Cross.
Reith Rohrer Ehert Lienhart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Charlotte Baker
Charlotte Baker, 86, of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Bremen Health
Care Center. She was born on July 6, 1920, in North Twp., IN, to Walter & Lizzie (Kline) Beyler.
She married Russell Baker on November 16, 1940. He survives.
A lifetime area resident, Charlotte was a Homemaker, a member of the Riverside United
Methodist Church and a 1938 graduate of Lapaz High School. Mom could take nothing and
make it into something. She was gifted with many talents. She was a great cook and an
excellent seamstress. She never took a backseat to sewing. She had a heart full of love.
Survivors include her Husband Russell Baker of Bremen, 2 sons: Richard (Karen) Baker of
Bremen, Dean (Lee) Baker of Teegarden, 1 daughter: Janice (Roger) Patterson of Bremen, 7
grandchlidren, 12 great-grandchlidren, 3 step-great-grandchlidren, and several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in death by: Infant son Donald Lee, 3 sisters: Beulah Dipert, Bertha
Krathwohl, Ruth Pillow.
Services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007, at 10:30 AM at Mishler Funeral Home in
Bremen with Pastor Mike Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at the Bremen cemetery. Friends
may call from 3-7 PM Sunday, March 4, 2007, and 1 hour before services on Monday, at the
funeral home.
Memorials contributions may be made to the Riverside United Methodist Church, American
Heart Association, or to the cause of one’s choice.

Dwight David Insco
CANDLER, N.C. — Dwight Davis Insco (Ike), 53, of Candler, N.C., formerly of La Crosse, died
at Solace Hospice in Asheville, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; daughter, Letha (Larry) West of LaPorte; son, Ronnie Insco of
Candler; daughter, Emily ( Michael) of Rincon, Ga.; parents, Fred and Rosie Insco of Plymouth;
sister, Patty (Dan) Hatter of Culver; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Mountain Area Hospice, 85 Zillicoa St., Asheville, NC 28801.
Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, Brevard, N.C. is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen Bobby
PLYMOUTH — Helen R. Bobby, 46, of 1687 N. Michigan St., Lot 148, Plymouth, passed away
Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 9:09 a.m., at her home in Plymouth.
She was born on Dec.28, 1960 in East Chicago, Ind., to Robert and Dorothy (Pokraka) Bobby.
She had lived in Plymouth for the past 20 years. She worked for Wal-Mart, in Plymouth, and
when in Hammond, worked for the Shrine Circus. Helen was a devoted and caring person who
worked for many causes that raised money for children.
Helen is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bobby of Plymouth; her sister, Linda (Bob) Schmidt of
South Bend; her brother, Robert Bobby Jr. of Hammond; her sister, Barbara (Danny) Clements
of Argos; her brother, Michael Bobby of Plymouth; her sister, Mary Elizabeth “Marie” Williams of
Plymouth; her sister, Pamela Bobby of Hammond; and her brother, John T. Bobby of Plymouth.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Robert
Bobby Sr.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 W.
Madison St., Plymouth, with the Rev. Father William Kummer officiating.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
The Bobby family requests that memorial contributions be given to Riley Children’s Foundation,
30 South Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46201.

Myra Caban
Myra Caban, 68, passed into the arms of her Savior at 7:55 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007. A
devoted mother and grandmother, Myra remained at home in the loving care and company of
her family and the Marshall County Hospice.
Myra was born on November 23, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin the daughter of Herbert and
Lucille (Schneider) Langnes and graduated from High School in 1956. On July 14th of that same
year she married a charming Manuel Caban and together they enjoyed twenty-eight years of
seeing their family grow. Manuel preceded Myra in death on April 21, 1984.
In 1967 the family moved to Plymouth and Myra took a job with Menser Industries where she
served as an expert seamstress for the next 11 years. She then became employed by DelMonte
Foods in production until a disability struck in 1988.
Myra loved to sew, especially little girl’s frilly dresses. She was also an accomplished quilt maker
and has provided countless keepsakes for members of her family. She truly enjoyed an abiding
relationship as a grandmother and great-grandmother. A good night of BINGO was never discouraged.
She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Knox and a former member of the
Plymouth Women of the Moose #1355 and the American Legion Aux. of Overland Park, Kansas.
Survivors include her seven children; daughters: Kimberly Langnes of Milwaukee, Wis., Diana
Caban of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Laura Caban of Plymouth and sons: Manuel (Jill) Caban, Jr. of
Plymouth, Emilio Caban of Chicago, Luis (Tawny) Caban of Angola and Roberto (Jennifer)
Caban of Plymouth including ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Her surviving brothers are: Robert Langnes of Norton, Vir., James Langnes of Milwaukee, Wis
and sisters: Sandy (Donald) Peterson of Menominee Falls, Wis., Judy (Rubin) Showalter of
Milwaukee, Karen (Lenny) Hereck of Racine, Wis. and Phyllis (Darwood) Olson of Park Falls, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, sisters: Shirley Krieser, Virginia Millard, Lucy
Devine and brothers: William, Herbert Jr. and Harold Langnes.
Family and friends are invited to pay tribute on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 from 4 – 8 p.m. in the
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St. Plymouth where calling will continue
after 7 a.m. on Thursday until time of services at 1 p.m. Services in the funeral home will be
conducted by Rev. Tom Padberg, Chaplain of the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
Burial will follow in the New Oakhill cemetery. Preferred are memorial gifts to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, 112 S. Center St. Plymouth, Indiana 46563
