Billy J. Risner
KNOX - Billy J. Risner, 64, died Friday, April 20 in his home following an extended illness.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine Kasinger of The Dalles, Ore., his best friend, Carol Risner
of Knox, a son, Tony and Suzanne of Plymouth, a brother, Ken Conley and sister, Jennie
Oldfield, both of The Dalles, Ore., grandchildren Wes Biddle, Kelsy Risner and Matthew Risner.
Services will be at 1 p.m. (CDT) Wednesday at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel, 108 S. Main
St., Knox, with Pastor Arlin Perry officiating.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Crown Hill cemetery.

Clayton Clyde Chapin
FULTON - Clayton Clyde Chapin, 87, of Rochester, formerly of Fulton, died at 1:25 a.m.
Saturday, April 21 at Life Care Center in Rochester where he had resided for the past 18 months
He is survived by his wife, Treva M. Chapin of Rochester and one sister, Dorothy Swoverland of
Deedsville, Ind.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, on Tuesday, and one
hour prior to services.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Russell officiating.
Burial will be at Rochester's IOOF cemetery.

Bernard "Pops" L. Houin
ARGOS — Bernard “Pops” L. Houin, 79, of 15864 Michigan Rd., Argos, passed away Saturday,
April 21, 2007 at 9:55 p.m. at his home.
Bernard was born on Oct. 28, 1927 in Plymouth to Francis and Frances (Smith) Houin. He
married Evadean Zehner on Sept. 26, 1950. She passed away on Oct. 31, 1951. Bernard and
Betty Vires were married on July 24, 1952.
Bernard worked for his son Mike, in the landscaping business, farmed, had dairy cows, and
worked at the Plymouth Farm Center (John Deere). He was a member of Saint Michael Catholic
Church, Plymouth.
Bernard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Houin of Argos; their daughters, Beverly
(Edward) Irvine of Argos, Bonnie Houin of Fort Wayne and Norma Zentz of North Liberty; their
sons: Mike (Sharon) Houin of Argos, Pat Houin of Argos, and Tony (Jacki) Houin of Argos; his
brother, Lawrence (Frances) Houin of Grovertown; and his sisters, Catherine Haeck of
Plymouth, Irene Wentzel of South Bend and Theresa (Lloyd) Anderson of Plymouth. Also
surviving are 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one more great-grandchild on the
way. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Espinoza; his brothers: Carl Houin,
Elmer Houin and Leo Houin; and his sister, Sister Mary Frances Houin.
The mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint
Michael Catholic Church with The Rev. Father William Kummer officiating. Burial will be in New
Oak Hill cemetery.
A time of visiting and sharing memories with Barnard's family will be on Wednesday, April 25,
2007 at the VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, from 4 to 8
p.m. with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
The Houin family requests that memorial contributions be made in Bernard's name to the
Marshall County Cancer Association, P.O. Box 895, Plymouth, IN 46563 or to the Center for
Hospice and Palliative Care, Incorporated, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, IN 46563.

Milo W. "Mike" Klingerman
WARSAW — Milo W. “Mike” Klingerman, 77, of Warsaw, formerly of Indianapolis, died on
Saturday, April 21 at Veterans Administration Northern Indiana Health Care System, Ft. Wayne
Division.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Sue Curtis of Big Pine, Calif.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at Tyner cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Batten Disease Support & Research Association.
Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Peter A., Sr. Paul
MONTEREY — Peter A. Paul Sr., 84, of Monterey passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2007.
Pete was born on Aug. 24, 1922 in Berwyn, Ill. To Peter E. And Alma (Loewe) Paul. He grew up
on a farm doing many chores before going off to school. He graduated from Knox High School in
1940.
Pete proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945, earning the American
Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal World War II, and a Good Conduct Medal. After being honorably
discharged, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Brooks on May 3, 1947 in North Judson.
They were blessed with four children.
Pete was a talented man who farmed, did carpentry work with Karl Master for many years, and
after his retirement he worked at the Bonine Funeral Home for many years - a very faithful
employee. Pete belonged to the Collins-Tasch American Legion Post 399 in Monterey and the
Culver Eagles Lodge 3221 as well as a member of the Monterey Club which meets at the Corner
Tavern in Monterey for coffee every morning for many years now. He and Ann were good
dancers and loved to polka.
Pete is survived by his loving family: wife, Mary Ann Paul of Monterey; son, Peter (Kim) Paul Jr.
of Argos; daughters: Mary Ann (Charles E.) Broeker of Culver, Marsha Czerniak of Knox and
Beverly Audiss of Klamath Falls, Ore.; brother, Don (Mabel) Paul of Grovertown; 13
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his walking
companion Spike.
Friends may join Pete's family in celebrating and remembering his life at the Bonine-Odom
Funeral Home on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 2 to 8 p.m. EDT. Rev. Rob Mace will officiate
funeral services on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. EDT at the funeral home. Memorials may
be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Graveside veteran rites will be conducted by the
Collins-Tasch American Legion Post 399 and the Finney-Shilling VFW Post 6919 of Culver at
the Riverside Memorial cemetery in Monterey.
Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.

Russell D. Binkley
ETNA GREEN - Russell D. Binkley, age 100, of 326 N. Walnut Street, Etna Green, died at 10:05
a.m. Sunday, April 22, in Miller's Merry Manor Nursing Home of Warsaw.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy and several nieces and nephews. Also, he has a sister-in-law
Dortha Binkley Sheets of Warsaw, a brother, Cecil and Maxine Binkley of Etna Green.
A celebration of Russell's life will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 25 in Deaton-Clemens Funeral
Home, 115. Main St., Bourbon, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Deaton-Clemens
Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Etna Green cemetery at Etna Green.
Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Russell to the Etna Green United Methodist Church.

Amber G. Mott
BOURBON — Amber G. Mott, age 89, of 200 West Florence Street, #2, Bourbon, passed away,
Sunday April 22, 2007 at 4:15 p.m. in the Catherine Kasper Life Care Center, Donaldson.
Amber was born on Aug. 29, 1917 in Plankinton, S.D. to J. W. and Neva Cecil (Bridges) Morgan.
Amber married Harold W. Mott in Mitchell, S.D. on Dec. 10, 1938. Together they raised their
three children. They moved to the Marshall County area from Iowa in 1962.
Amber graduated from Plankinton High School in 1935. She was a member of the 1934 State
Champion Girls Basketball Team for Plankinton. Amber also held a degree in cosmetology.
Many will remember Amber from Mundy's Restaurant where she served the morning crowd with
a smile for many years. Amber was very proud of her grandchildren. She was always in
attendance for their special events, never missing an opportunity to brag about any of her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived the last few years at Garden Court Apartments
in Bourbon, where she made many good friends.
Amber is survived by her daughter, Pam and Rick Sarber of Bourbon; her sons: Larry and Cheryl
Mott of Pasadena, Texas and Jerry and Barbara Mott of Chesapeake, VA.; her grandchildren:
Barry and Roxanne Leonard of Virginia, Richie and Shawn Mott of Virginia, Jade and Jim Flint of
Texas, Chad and Natina Sarber of Greenfield, Erin and Bret Feldman of Etna Green, Misty Mott
of Texas, Megan Sarber and her fiancée Kameron Kenny of Texas, Christa Mott of Texas, and
Jason Mott of Texas. Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren;
her brother, Dale and June Morgan; her sisters: Thelma Vance, Harriet Glass,
and Imogene and Skee Bye. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years
Harold W. Mott, four brothers, and a sister.
The VAN GILDER FUNERAL HOME, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth has been entrusted
with assisting the family with final arrangements. In accordance with Amber's wishes, cremation
has taken place and a private memorial service will be held. The family has requested that in lieu
of flowers, friends may want to remember Amber with a prayer.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Amber’s name, to the Catherine Kasper Life Center,
P.O. Box 1, Donaldson, IN 46513.

Harlan Edward Butler
A memorial celebration for Eva Grace and Harlan Edward Butler will be held Monday, July 23,
2007 at 11 a.m. EST at the Culver Masonic cemetery in Culver. Eva Grace died March 21,
2003. Harlan Edward died April 23, 2007.
Eva Grace and Harlan are survived by their four children: Kenny (Mary) Husband of Melbourne,
Fla., Linda Simpson of Lawton, Okla., Marla (Michael) Hubbard of Pagosa Springs, Colo. And
Shane (Candi) Butler of Boca Raton, Fla.; Eva’s siblings: Maude Ruth Gunther of Titusville, Fla.,
Olive Dorothea (LaVerne) Matthes of Odessa, Fla., Esther Rae (Leland) Shearer of Beaver
Falls, Pa. and Phillip Fry (Brenda) Husband of Ruffsdale, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren;
and countless nieces and nephews.
The Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.

Nettie Frances Edwards
TIPPECANOE — Nettie Frances Edwards, 58, of Tippecanoe, formerly of Bass Lake, passed
away at 3:23 a.m. on Monday, April 23 at home. She was born on Jan. 6, 1949 in Logansport to
James A. and Erie (Powers) Watts. On Aug. 15, 1984 in Logansport, she married Ron J. Edwards.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Helm Street Church of God. Nettie enjoyed spending
time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Nettie was a 1967 graduate of Pioneer
High School and was raised in Royal Center.
She is survived by her husband, Ron J. Edwards of Tippecanoe; daughters: Sandy Leffert of
Logansport and Amanda Sobieck of Knox; mother, Erie Watts of Royal Center; stepdaughters:
Jennifer (Ben) Rance of Logansport and Kristal Edwards of St. Louis, Mo.; stepson, Ryan (Chris)
Edwards of Lucerne; sisters: Betty Siler of Lafayette, Mary (Ken) Frye of Burnettsville and
Carolyn Gilmore of Royal Center; sister-in-law, Connie Peterson of Kokomo; 10 grandchildren:
Cory and Brittany Leffert, Adam and Emily Sobieck, Alex, Sydney and Ella Rance, Bryanna
Bowman, Daysha Robinson and Ethan Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Fay E. Duddleston.
Visitation is 5:30 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday, April 25 at the Helm Street Church
of God, 712 Helm St., Logansport.
Funeral services are Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the church with Pastor Dean Snyder
officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Helm Street Church of God.
Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, is in charge of the arrangements.
