MONTEREY — Donald Owen Good, 88, of Monterey, died at 7:59 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26 at
Pulaski Memorial Hospital, Winamac.

He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Good, at home; daughters: Dixie Good of Rochester and
Debbie (Patrick) Machamer of Winamac; sons: Don (Margaret) Good of Monterey and Dean
(Gwen) Good of Monterey; 10 grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Onda Good of North
Manchester and Pauline Good of Monterey.

Visitation is Sunday, July 1 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Monterey United Methodist Church.

Funeral services are Sunday, July 1 at 2 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be at the Riverside cemetery, Monterey. Military graveside rites will be conducted by
the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Memorials may be made to the Monterey United Methodist Church, The Nature Conservancy of
Winamac or to the Don O. and Mary M. Good Scholarship Fund. Memorials are accepted at the
Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 W. 18th St., Rochester, IN 46975 or at the church.

Marjorie Lucille Holm
BOURBON — Marjorie Lucille Holm of Bourbon died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Indiana University
Medical Center, Indianapolis.

She is survived by a son, Kenton Boyd Holm of Arizona; daughter, Karen Holm of Bourbon;
brother, A.C. (Millie) Snyder of Florida; brother-in-law, Hugo (Mary) Holm of Bremen and sisterin-law,
Sigrund (Jim) Gardner of Baltimore, Md.

Visitation is Thursday, June 28 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home,
Argos, and from noon until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Funeral services are Friday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bourbon First United Methodist Church,
Bourbon.

Burial will be at Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Rebecca R. Large
CULVER - Rebecca R. Large, 48, of Culver, died at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at home.
She is survived by her husband, John Large Jr. of Culver; stepson, Derrick J. Brewer; daughters:
Lauren L. Large and Alicia M. Large, both of Culver; and mother, Marjory Thomas of Culver.
Visitation is Friday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church.
Funeral services are Friday, June 29 at 1 p.m. at the church.Burial will be at the Poplar Grove
cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America, Midwestern Regional
Medical Center, Zion, Ill. Or the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care.
The Bonine-Odom Funeral Home, Culver, is in charge of arrangements.

Esther Olive Lickness Berdahl
Esther Olive Lickness Berdahl, 101, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away peacefully at her
home at Waterford at All Saints surrounded by family and friends.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, Mary Ellen Lantis of Spearfish, South
Dakota; Elaine (Thane) Johnson of Des Moines, Iowa; and Richard (Judy) Berdahl of Plymouth,
Indiana; grandchildren, Cammy Lantis of Spearfish, Wendy (Paul) Soulek of Spearfish, Leah
(Greg) Rinard of Longmont, Colorado, Travis (Amy) Lantis of Spearfish; Kurt (Jessica) Johnson
of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Christopher Berdahl of Plymouth, Indiana; Timothy (Danielle)
Berdahl of Iowa City, Iowa; and great grandchildren - Nicholas, Zachary and Alexa Rinard;
Kassidy, Lucas and Kali the Renee Lantis; and Logan and Abigail Johnson.

Miller Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.

Brenda L. Birchmeier
PLYMOUTH — Surrounded by her loving family and with the support of the Marshall County
Hospice, Brenda L. Birchmeier, following an inspirational 17-year battle against cancer, died at
her residence, 11100 Shady Lane Drive, Plymouth, at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2007.

Throughout her life, Brenda was a devoted wife, mother — which included being the
“neighborhood Mom” and grandmother. She was 45 years old.

Brenda, a lifetime Marshall County resident, growing up in the Donaldson area, was born in
Plymouth, the daughter of Tom W. and Sondra L. Kepler Christiansen, on July 22, 1961.

She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1979, and went on to become a certified
cosmetologist.

On Nov. 3, 1979, in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Plymouth, Brenda and Jeffory A.
Birchmeier were married . They lived in Martinsville, W. Va. For two years.

Brenda loved animals, especially her two Rottweilers and was an ardent supporter of the
Marshall County Humane Society.

She had enjoyed playing golf and bowling and participated in both leagues. She loved watching
her sons’ activities, reading, exercising and walking.

Brenda is survived by Jeff, her loving spouse of 27 years, and their three sons, all of Plymouth:
Brandon A. and Latisha Birchmeier: Derek C. Birchmeier and Evan J. “Boo” Birchmeier.

Three grandsons also survive. They are: Gage Allen, Dylan and Cameron.

Brenda’s parents of Plymouth, survive as well, together with a brother, Matthew Christiansen,
Plymouth; a sister, Vicki (Mark) Staples of Mishawaka and several nieces and nephews. Her
mother-in-law, Pattie Birchmeier of Plymouth, also survives.

Friends are invited to celebrate Brenda’s courageous life with her family at the Johnson-Danielson
Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, on Sunday, July 1, 2007, from 3 to 6
p.m. and after 7 a.m. on Monday, July 2.

A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Brenda at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2007, in St.
Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 615 N. Center St., Plymouth. The Rev. Father William
Kummer will officiate.

Burial will be in New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial gifts in Brenda’s memory may be made to the Marshall County Humane Society or to
the Marshall County Hospice and Palliative Care.

Maria Carmen Arroyo Rodriguez
PLYMOUTH - Maria Carmen Arroyo Rodriguez, 52, of Plymouth, died at 4:55 a.m. on
Wednesday, June 27 at home.
She is survived by sons: Julio (Christina) Jimenez, Javier (Veronica) Jimenez, Manuel
(Rebecca) Jimenez and Maurico Jimenez, all of Plymouth; four grandchildren; brothers: Refugo
and Jesus Arroyo, both of Mexico; and sisters: Raquel of Akron and Rosalina Chavez of Mexico.
Visitation is Friday, June 29 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Plymouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin after the visitation at 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow in the St. Michael Catholic cemetery.
The Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of arrangements.

David Lee Simonin
ROCHESTER — David Lee Simonin, 58, of Rochester, died at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 28
at home.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela; sons: Danny (Patty) See of Stanton, Ky., Chad Simonin of
Noblesville and Dustin Simonin of Fayetteville, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and sisters: Ellen
Kitterman of Thonotosassa, Fla., Delores Corl and husband of Grand Junction, Mich., Merlene
(Ed) Winclechter of Streamland, Ill., Arlene (Loy) Sriver of Rochester and Carolyn (James)
Prunty of Kokomo.

Funeral services are Monday, July 2 at 11 a.m. in the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Citizens cemetery, Rochester. Military rites will be conducted by the LeRoy
Shelton American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Leo E. Zillmer
BREMEN — Leo E. Zillmer, 90, of Bremen, died on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 12:30 a.m. at Lu
Ann Nursing Home in Nappanee.

Survivors include one brother, Clifford D. (Betty) Zillmer of Bremen; six nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Arthur and Victor and two nephews.

Services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at Mishler Funeral Home in
Bremen. Burial will take place at the Bremen cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on
Sunday, July 1, 2007, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Methodist Church or American Heart
Association.
