Nathan George Bunch
WINAMAC — Nathan George Bunch, 92, a resident of Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Winamac,
and formerly of the Argos area, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at 4:50 a.m. in Hickory Creek Nursing Home

He is survived by his two nieces and two nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Burial will follow in the Maple Grove cemetery, Argos.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, is in charge of local arrangements.

Barbara Alice Sheehan
PLYMOUTH — Barbara Alice Sheehan, 79, of Plymouth, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Memorial
Hospital of South Bend.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Ann Sheehan of South Bend; sons: Joel P. Sheehan of
Andrews, Timothy J. Sheehan of Plymouth and Michael D. Sheehan of Indianapolis; sister,
Rebecca Schrock of Indianapolis; and brother, John Baldwin of Kingsford Heights.

There will be no visitation. Family services will be held.

Burial will be at New Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, Plymouth, is in charge of the arrangements.

Howard D. Shell
PLYMOUTH — Howard D. Shell, 67, of 8942 E. 6B Road, died in Saint Joseph Regional Medical
Center, Plymouth, at 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007.

A lifetime resident, Howard was born in Plymouth, on July 2, 1940, the son of Howard I. and

Thelma M. Kiefer Shell.
He attended LaPaz High School and served in the Indiana National Guard from 1963 to 1969.

On Aug. 11, 1962, at Holy Family Catholic Church in South Bend, Howard and Patricia Golubski
were married .

Howard worked for INDOT, the Indiana Department of Transportation, Plymouth Subdistrict,
retiring in April, 2006. He was Unit Foreman for 10 years.

He loved life to the fullest and enjoyed farming and spoiling his children and grandchildren as
much as he could.

Howard is survived by Pat, his wife of almost 45 years and by their son, Greg Shell and their
daughter, Cheryl Tomkiewicz all of Plymouth.

Two grandchildren, Casey and Jordan Tomkiewicz, survive as well, together with a brother, Jim
(Carol) Shell, Bremen, and a sister, Joan (Larry) Yazel, South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Sheftic.

Friends are invited to share memories of Howard with his family on Thursday, July 5, 2007, from
3 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Visitation
will continue after 7 a.m. on Friday, July 6.

Funeral services for Howard, officiated by Pastor Neil Wonnacott, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday,
July 6, in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Oakhill cemetery, Plymouth.

Memorial Gifts in Howard’s name may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care,
Plymouth or Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth, Campus.

Mariann E. Derucki
Mariann E. Derucki, 76, of Bremen/East Side of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, July 4,
2007. She is survived by daughter, Julie Ann (David) Kotowski of Dyer; three sons: Michael
Derucki of Bremen, Frank Derucki of Tinley Park, Ill. and John (Tammy) Derucki of Griffith; two
grandchildren: Katie Kotowski and Dylan Derucki; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. The body will lie in state at St.
Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Dr. in Dyer with a 10 a.m. Mass. Rev. Charles W. Niblick
will officiate. Burial will be in St. John cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July
6, 2007 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN
219-322-7766. Mariann loved to knit and play bingo.

Rosalee Ellen (Weissert) Racolta
BOURBON — Rosalee Ellen (Weissert) Racolta, 75, a resident of 608 N. Main St. Bourbon, went
to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 4:10 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of South
Bend.

Rosalee was born the daughter of Louis Wendell Weissert and Edith Lucille Hartman Weissert
on June 5, 1932 at home in Bourbon Township. She had been a resident of the Bourbon area all
her life.

She was joined in marriage on June 28, 1975 to Jack James Racolta, who survives, along with
her children: Debbie and Steve Calhoun of Plymouth, David and Mary Swihart of Goshen; her
stepchildren: Robin Racolta, Jackie and Lane Miner, Jan Racolta all of Bourbon and Joe Racolta
of Syracuse. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren: Brandon Calhoun, Allison
Calhoun, Robert Swihart, Elizabeth Stack, Jeremy Weissert, Jennifer Weissert, Brittney Frenger;
two great-grandchildren: William and Austin Weissert. She also has a sister Ruth and Bill
Kennedy of South Bend.

Rosalee was a graduate of Tippecanoe High School. She was a homemaker and had worked as
a secretary. She was a faithful member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church where she
sang in the chancel choir where she could share her love for music.

Funeral services to celebrate Rosalee’s life will be held on Saturday, July 7 at 11 a.m. in the
Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St. with Rev. Mark A. Day officiating.

There will be a time of visiting and sharing memories with the family on Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, IN 46504. Also for one hour before
services in the church on Saturday.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill cemetery at Bourbon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Bourbon Emergency Medical Services in her memory.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Donald Leroy Shirk
SEBRING, Fla. — Donald Leroy Shirk, 66, of Sebring, Fla., passed away July 5, 2007 in Sebring.
Born in St. Joseph County Feb. 18, 1941, he retired from the State of Indiana in 1989. After
graduating from Tyner High School in Tyner, he joined the Air Force and served four years
before going to work for the State. During his service in the Air Force as Hospital Corpsman 1
and Chief NAVPERS, he also served as academic instructor. He received the 1st Bronze Oak
Leaf Good Conduct Medal; the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity
Service Award Ribbon. His more than two decades working for the State of Indiana included
safety training for state employees subject to Occupational Safety and Health Administration
standards. He relocated from Plymouth to Sebring in 1994.

He is survived by a daughter, Lara Bachtel and a son, David Shirk, both living in Indiana; a
brother, David Shirk, living in Lake Wales, Fla.; his former wife, Karen Shirk, also living in
Indiana; and grandsons: Aaron and Austin Bachtel.

Donald Shirk will be buried at South Bend. Arrangements are being handled by Stephenson-Nelson
Funeral Home, Sebring, Fla. 33870, 863-385-0125.

Cara A. Pranger
PLYMOUTH — Cari A. Pranger, newborn, of Plymouth, died at 7:39 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

Cari is survived by her mother, Renee D. Pranger; her brother, Chad Bunger at home; and her
grandparents, Robert and Doris Pranger of Plymouth.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, handled the graveside service. Burial was in New Oak
Hill cemetery.
