Ila Mae Clinton, 102, Lapel, passed away Monday September 19, 2005, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.

She was born on May 20, 1903, in Celina, Tennessee to Lindsey and Tinsy West.

She is survived by four children, Alyne Mendenhall of Orlando, FL, Dodie (husband, Milt) Pennington of Celina, TN, Robert (wife, Betty) Clinton of Cookville, TN, and Ray Clinton of Cincinnati, OH; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and special caregiver, Denise Wilkinson of Lapel .

She was preceded in death by her husband Fowler Clinton; and 3 children, Edwin Clinton, Frankie Boles, and Nell Clinton.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Chris Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St, Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Georgia B. Collins

Georgia B. Collins, 95, Sarasota, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2005, at Woods at Manatee Springs in Bradenton, Florida following a brief illness.

She was born on April 2, 1910, in Banquo, Indiana to Fred and Frennie (Hedrick) Bloomer.

She was a graduate of Ball State and co-owned Collins Hardware in Lapel for many years before moving to Bradenton in 1971.

She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel and the Rebecca Circle of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Bradenton.

She is survived by one daughter, Alta Jane Collins Bryant of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Gary Barker of Anderson, Kendra (husband, George) Newell of Chiefland, FL, and Todd (wife, Kim) Barker of Sarasota, FL; four great grandchildren, Harlan Barker of Indianapolis, Katrina Newell of Chiefland, FL, Kenneth Newell of Bradenton, FL, and Mark Chitwood of Sarasota, FL; and two brothers-in-law, Charles (wife, Rachel) Collins of Swayzee, and George (wife, Gertrude) Collins of Kokomo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Eugene "Gene" Collins; her parents; and two sisters, Marie Corn and Dolores Norman.

Georgia was a devoted wife and mother who leaves beautiful memories with her family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Grant Memorial Park in Marion.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Jeff L. Earlywine

Jeff L. Earlywine, 41, Pendleton, passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at his mother's home in Noblesville following an extended illness.

He was born on August 4, 1963, in Anderson, Indiana to Donald and Marcia (Elsten) Earlywine.

He had been employed by Burco, Sinclair Pizza and Donatos all in Noblesville.

He is survived by his mother, Marcia Earlywine of Noblesville; one brother, David Earlywine of Noblesville; one sister, Robin Stephens of Noblesville; one niece, Shawn Earlywine; two nephews, Wayne Stephens, and Cody Stephens; two great nieces, Tabitha Surface and Shelby Brooks; one great nephew, Jacob Surface; and his dog Ace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Earlywine and a brother, Dale Earlywine.

Services will be held at 7:00 PM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Gary Elsten officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery, Lapel at a later date.

Friends may call from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Emma G. Eiler

Emma G. Eiler, 97, Lapel, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a two month illness.

She was born on July 18, 1908, in Brewersville, Indiana to Wayne and Minnie (Marsh) Day.

She was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, The Lapel Golden Glows, and the Ford Street Nomads.

She is survived by four daughters, Barbara J. (husband, Arnold) Cross of Tampa, Laura Mae (husband, Bob) Harless of Markleville, Marjorie E. Turner of Greenfield, and Rebecca S. (husband, Terry) Hunter of Anderson; two sons, Stephen L. (wife, Ellen) Eiler of Viguita, NM, and Kenneth R. Eiler of Markleville; one sister, Alice Campbell of Cardington, OH; thirty-one grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Eiler; a son, Olan Jerry Eiler; a daughter, Donna Kay Eiler; three grandchildren, Darla Moon, Amy Hunter, and Terry Webb; one great-grandchild, Christipher Harless; four brothers; and four sisters.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Mildred G. Fields

Mildred G. Fields, 89, Anderson, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Community Northview Care Center Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on September 16, 1916, in Webster, West Virginia to George and Marie (Oberndorfer) Newman.

She retired from K Mart.

She was a member of the New Beginnings Church.

She is survived by three children, Betsy Humphreys of Alaska, Rudy (wife, Juanita) Shelton of Elwood, and Woody (wife, Joanne) Fields of Lapel; one sister, Marie Hubbard of Bullhead City, AZ; one brother, Donald (wife, Marie) Newman of Buffalo, NY; nine grand children; thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fields in 1965.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Gary Marcum officiating. Burial will be at the Harlan cemetery in Wilkinson.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Mike Gray

Mike Gray, 62, Elwood, passed away Friday, June 10, 2005, at Riverview Hospital Noblesville following a brief illness.

He was born on July 3, 1942, in Greenfield, Indiana to Edward and Inez (Snider) Gray.

He was a 1960 graduate of Pendleton High School and was employed at Morse Lake Marina as well as doing custom combining.

He is survived by his wife, Mona (Hayes) Gray; four daughters, Pam (husband, Scott) Beechler, Paula Green, Michelle (husband, Chad) Galloway, and Gwen (husband, Frankie) McClendon all of Noblesville; six grandchildren, Chip (wife, Christy) Green, Corey (wife, Michelle) Green, Josh Kennedy, Stacy Green, Michael McClendon, Christopher McClendon, and Rachelle Gray; three great grandchildren, Cody Green, Harley Green, Deacon Green; and one brother, Darryl "Blackie" (wife, Letty) Gray of Pendleton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jerry Lloyd Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Eden cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Berniece Grimes

Berniece Grimes, 89, Anderson, formerly of Noblesville, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following a brief illness.

She was born on September 2, 1916, in Clinton County, Indiana to Charlie and Mabel (Rector) VanMeter.

She retired in 1982 as a cook for Hamilton Southeastern Schools.

She was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bradley Grimes; five children, Carolyn Jean (husband, John) Blazier of Pendleton, Larry (wife, Mary) Grimes of Pendleton, Charlotte (husband, Joe) Ridgeway of Winchester, Jeff (wife, Jodi) Grimes of Anderson, and Teresa (husband, Ed) Harkness of Edmore, MI; one sister, Martha (husband George) Doherty of Noblesville, fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel, with Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be at the Prairie Memorial cemetery in rural Noblesville.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

William F. Hackleman

William F. Hackleman, 67, Lapel, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2005, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on October 6, 1937, in Lapel, Indiana to Charles and Vivian (Bolton) Hackleman.

He retired in 1996 from Delphi Division of General Motors after 33 years of employment.

He was a member of the Ford Street United Methodist Church, and the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625.

He is survived by wife, Sheila (Partain) Hackleman; one daughter, Laura (husband, Rick) Hall of Lapel; one sister, Nancy (husband, Richard) Walters of Holiday, FL; two grandaughters, Mandy (husband, Jeremy) Denton of Noblesville, and Ashley Hall of Lapel; and one great grandaughter, Alexis Denton.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Ford Street United Methodist Church in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery, Lapel.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel where the Lapel Masonic Lodge will conduct Masonic Memorial Rites at 7:00 PM.

Jay Warren Hersberger

Jay Warren Hersberger, Lake Placid Florida, age 76, formerly of Lapel, died on Thursday March 31, 2005 after a brief illness.

He was born on November 18, 1928, in Lapel, son of Tilghman and Villie (Hinton) Hersberger.

He was retired from the United States Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, Fire Controll Technician, and was a member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 212, VFW; Trinity United Methodist Church; A life member of AMVETS; and Fleet Reserve Association.

He is survived by four children, daughter, Lynn (husband, Barie) VanZel of Altamonte Springs, FL.; daughter, Gail (husband, John) Specht of Lapel; . son, Jay Herberger of Lake Placid, FL; Lyle Hersberger of Brandwine, MD.; nine grandchildren, Sherri (husband, Scott) Noble of Lapel,; Jessica (husband, Kerry) Stewart of Indianapolis; Nelson (wife Emily) Specht of Middletown; Amanda (husband, Scott) King of Lapel; Wesley Hersberger of Brandywine, MD.; Brittany Hersberger of Brandywine, MD.; Eric Hersberger of Lake Placid, FL.; Cindy (husband, Joshua) Cohen of, New Jersey; Cathy Ryle of Altamonte Spring, FL.; and seven Great Grandchildren: Shelby Noble of Lapel,; Mitchell Noble of Lapel, Abigail Specht of Lapel; Chrystal King of Lapel; Amber King of Lapel; Calvin Perrie Specht of Middletown; and Grayson Stewart of Indianapolis; Brother, Morris (wife, Jean) Hersberger of Lapel; Brother, John (wife, Sue) Hersberger of Winchester; sister, Martha Jane (husband, Max) Lee of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.; and sister-in-law Phyllis Hersberger of Noblesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Grace Perrie Hersberger, and a brother Paul Herbert Hersberger.

Memorial Service will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating.

Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

John Delbert "Deb" Hersberger

John Delbert "Deb" Hersberger, 82 Pendleton, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005, following an extended illness.

He was born on January 10, 1923, in Lapel, Indiana to John and Berniece (Williamson) Hersberger, II.

He was a 1940 Lapel High School graduate and was a member of that year's final four basketball team. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired in 1981 from Allison Division of General Motors as a production supervisor after 41 years of employment.

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Lapel American Legion Post 212, the Lapel Masonic Lodge No. 625, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, the Murat Temple Shrine and the Madison County Shrine Club.

He is survived by one brother, William Ronald Hersberger of Lapel; one sister, Leah (husband, Raymond) Renbarger of Anderson; a close friend, Eva Jean Clark of Fortville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Eleanor (McCombs) Hersberger; and a daughter, Debbie Sue Hersberger.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Burial will be at the Anderson Memorial Park cemetery where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
