Libby T. Lynch

Libby T. Lynch, 86, Anderson, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006, at Saint John's Health System Anderson after a brief illness.

She was born on January 27, 1920, in New Market, Tennessee to Charles and Martha (Houser) Thomas. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Jo (husband, Mike) Baldwin of Anderson, Aneta (husband, Bob) Taylor of Fairmont, and Dee (husband, Andy) Morgan of Lapel; a brother, Bob (wife, Helen) Thomas of Talbott, TN; four grandchildren, Debbie Baldwin of Anderson, Nick (wife, Stephanie) Baldwin of Anderson, Will Morgan of Lapel, and Jackson Morgan of Lapel; three great-grandchildren, Dustin, Justin, and Brooke Baldwin all of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Marge Barnes of Alexandria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lynch' a grandson, Robbie Taylor; one sister, E. Dee Narvell; and two brothers, John and Nile Thomas.

Graveside services and burial will be held at a later date at the Shady Grove cemetery in Dandridge, Tennessee.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 8660 Guion Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268.

David L. Muse

David L. Muse, 60, Perkinsville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at his residence following a one month illness.

He was born on June 28, 1946, in Mansfield, Ohio, to James and Dorothy (Au) Muse.

He retired from Delco Remy in 1995 after 30 years of employment and he was a great auto body man in the late 1960s and 1970s.

He was a member of the Lapel Eagles Aerie 4323 and the Pendleton Am Vets.

David was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife and companion of 23 years, Mary Jane (Shaw) Muse, they were married Decembver 27, 1993; two children, Kimberly (husband, Bill) Lillard of Alexandria, and Brian (wife, Misty) Muse of Tipton; his father, James Muse of Perkinsville; four brothers and sisters, Shirley King (companion, Donnie Edwards) of Noblesville, Dennis (wife, Debbie) Muse of Perkinsville, Sheila Hosier (companion, Rick Blackford), and Cindy (husband, Mike) Murray of Frankton; a step-son, Toby Carroll of Perkinsville; eight grandchildren, Derrick Bowers, Justin Bowers, Brandy Blount, Clayton Lillard, Dylan Muse, Brandon Muse, Shawna Carroll, and Joshua Carroll; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Robert King and family.

He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Muse; his mother; a brother, Duane Muse; a step-son, Robert Carroll; and his father-in-law, Robert Shaw.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Perkinsville cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Eula M. Patrick

Eula M. Patrick, 79, Tuscon, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a sudden illness.

She was born on September 23, 1926, in Asheville, North Carolina the daughter of Forest and Hattie (Sherlin) Erwin. She was a retired pre-school teacher. She is survived by her husband, John Patrick; one daughter, Terry (husband, Terry) Hendricks of Tuscon, AZ; one brother, Tim (wife, Karen) Erwin of Noblesville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Anthony Patrick. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Hervey Lawrence officiating.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Saturday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Mary M. Pelfrey

Mary M. Pelfrey, 89, Bellview, Florida went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 10, 2006, at Monroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Florida following a brief illness.

She was born on January 2, 1917, in Anderson, Indiana to Frank and Minnie (Stanley) Stover.

On July 3, 1936, Mary married Roger Pelfrey and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary July 3, 1976. Roger preceded her in death on January 11, 1977.

Mrs. Pelfrey moved to maker her home in Belleview, Florida on April 11, 1980.

She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church and she and her husband were very active in the church while they lived in Madison county. They taught several children's Sunday school classes and many of the classes even stayed overnight at their home.

Mary enjoyed doing ceramics, antiques, and she was an excellent seamstress. She was a fun-loving person especially with children.

She is survived by four nieces, Martha Lukawitz of Ocala, FL, Sharon Clement of Belleville, FL, Barbara Waldron of Summerfield, FL, and Suellen Warfel of Anderson; one nephew, Lawrence Pelfrey of Alexandria; several great-nieces and great nephews; and her loving dog and companion, Tyler.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Brookside cemetery with Rev. Mark Helm officiating.

There will be no visiting hours.

Betty J. Perkins

Betty J. "Perky" Perkins, 81, Noblesville, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following an extended illness.

She was born on March 9, 1925, in Cambridge City, Indiana to Clinton and Edna (Eastin) Perkins.

She had been a cook in several restaurants including The Pink Horse Restaurant in Anderson.

She was a member of the Noblesville Nazarene Church.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Perkins (fiance, Judy Colvard) of Noblesville, IN; one sister, Virginia Miller of Shelbyville; one half-sister, Theresa Perkins of Indianapolis; two half-brothers, Robert Perkins of Lapel, and Joseph Perkins of Kentucky; one step-brother, Michael Rodenberg of Anderson; two grandsons, Darrell (wife, Cindy) Enyeart, and Ralph (wife, Angie) Enyeart; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Eva Borders, Mary Anthony, Aletha Barkdull, and Edna Eaton; one brother, Elmer Perkins; and her daughter-in-law, Pam Michael.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Hervey Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at the Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

F. Dean Presser

F. Dean Presser, 73, Lapel, passed away Friday, February 10, 2006, at his residence following a two year illness.

He was born on December 9, 1932, in Lapel, Indiana to Ralph and Linnie (Stottlemyer) Presser.

He was a U. S. Army veteran and retired in 1992 from Delco Remy after over 42 years of employment.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Herron) Presser; two children, Joanne (husband, Kyle) Trimble of Lapel, and Jay Presser of Lapel; three granddaughters, Sabra Presser, Summer Presser, and Kylie Trimble; a niece, Lynn King of Alexandria; and a nephew, Robert Chaney of Carmel.

He was preceded in death by a son, James D. Presser in 1986.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Jerry Snyder officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Center or Dove Harbor.

Connie J. Quackenbush

Connie J. Quackenbush, 61, Lapel, passed away Friday, September 1, 2006, at her daughter's residence in Lapel following a one year illness.

She was born on November 26, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Michael and Dorothy (Williams) Jauregui. She had lived in Yoder and Greenwood before moving to Lapel.

She was a member of the Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Yoder and the Phi Beta Psi sorority. She was employed by the NCAA.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Quackenbush; four children, Thomas Quackenbush, Jr. of McCordsville, Cheryl (husband, Tom) Campbell of Indianapolis, Simon Quackenbush of Diamond Bar, CA, and Teri (husband, Christopher) Bock of Lapel; her parents, Michael and Dorothy (Williams) Jauregui of Ossian; two sisters, Susan (husband, Ron) Graft of Uniondale, and Linda (husband, Tim) Otis of Ossian; and six grandchildren.

Services will be held 1:00 PM at Saint Alosius Catholic Church in Yoder with Father Dom officiating. Burial will be at the Saint Aloysius cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel and from 11:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at Saint Aloysius Catholic Church in Yoder.

Memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia research at Indiana University Medical Center.

Monna E. Riggins

Monna E. Riggins, 77, Anderson, passed away Monday, November 6, 2006, at Saint John's Health System in Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on March 7, 1929, in Decatur, Indiana to Everett and Hester (Ort) Venis.

She retired in 1999 from Anderson Psychiatric Clinic.

She is survived by four children, Stephen (wife, Marianne) Riggins, Rex (wife, Annette) Riggins, Lorraine (husband, Victor) Bagg of Anderson, and Valerie Ray of Wabash; seven grandchildren, Sean (wife, Carolyn) Riggins, Jill Vershaw, Jason (wife, Shelly) Connell, Anna (husband, Rick) Stingley, Rex (wife, Sarah) Riggins, Jr., Landon Gates, and Zachary (wife, Brooke) Ray; twelve great-grandchildren, Erin, Cody, Kaitlin, Kristen, Dominic, Keaton, McKenna, Elise, Evan, Jacob, Gabriel, and Samuel; and her dear friend and her family, Nancy (husband, Herschel) Hinkle of Lapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford Riggins; and a brother, Earl Venis.

Services will be held at 6:00 PM Friday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev.s Brad Storm and Neil Butcher officiating.

Friends may call from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Anna B. Russell

Anna B. Russell, 88, longtime resident of the Lapel, Indiana and Sarasota, Florida areas passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, at Westminster Village North Retirement Center in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

She was born on August 1, 1917, in Mount Summit, Indiana to Bill and Roberta (Peed) Beck.

Ann retired from Delco Remy division of General Motors in the early 1970s. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel, Indiana.

Ann was much beloved by her many friends and family members.

She is survived by two sons, Vic (wife, Mary Ellen) Russell of Waco, TX, and Jim (wife, Carolyn) Russell of Greenfield, IN; one brother, Gordon Beck of Batesville, IN; ten grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, H. E. (Deacon) Russell; a daughter, Karen Russell Goldy; a brother, Bill (Bud) Beck; and her parents.

Private family graveside rites and burial will be held at Brookside cemetery in Lapel, Indiana at a later date.

There will be no visiting hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606.

Marilyn F. Shaw

Marilyn F. Shaw, 79, Lapel, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2006, at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville following an extended illness.

She was born on September 22, 1927, in Lapel, Indiana to Willis and Audrey (Cupp) Foust.

Marilyn taught Home Economics at the former Markleville High School and was their 4-H sponsor. Later in her work career she was a substitute teacher at Lapel School and finally she was the branch manager of the Lapel Library.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457.

She is survived by three children, Mike (wife, Denise) Shaw of Indiana, PA, LeighAnn (husband, Joe) Crane of Lapel, and Melanie Johnson of Lapel; and six grandchilden, Heather Shaw, Ben Johnson, Rob Crane, Audrey Johnson, Michaela Shaw, and Brandon Shaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Shaw.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Mark Helm officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at the Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel where a Order of Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM by the Anderson Order of Eastern Star.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 North Meridian Street, Suite B-4, Indianapolis, Indiana 46209-7109.

Mary L. Sheller

Mary L. Sheller, 84, Lapel, passed away Friday, May 19, 2006, at her residence following several years of declining health.

She was born on March 6, 1922, in Carrington, North Dakota to Harold and Lena (White) Land.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel.

She is survived by four children, Sandra (husband, Tom) Riley of Chesterfield, Paula Sheller of Columbia City, Jeffrey (wife, Brenda) Sheller of Anderson, and Kathy (husband, Dan) Garner of Westfield; two brothers, Robert (wife, Marian) Land of Anderson, and Donald (wife, Kay) Land of Clearwater, FL; ten grandchildren, Christina Riley, Mathew Garner, Julia Garner, Melissa (husband, Josh) Cooper, Jesse (wife, Angie) Garner, Jason (wife, Alisha) Fowler, Josh Fowler (companion, Kim Wisker), Angela Sheller, Amy Jo Sheller (companion, Jeremiah Lapole), and Jana (husband, Russell) McNeal; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Russell Sheller; a brother, Francis Land, and her parents.

Services will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Evan Lash and Pastor Larry Svendsen officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside cemetery in Lapel.
