Mary Ellen Hines, 85, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, formally of Grovertown, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 11:20 a.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.

She was born on April 29, 1918 in Marshall County to James and Doris (Broscius) Bottorff.

She was married to Oscar Hines. He passed away on December 4, 1993.

Mary Ellen was a housewife and mother.

She is survived by her daughters; Barbara and Paul Bailey of Argos, Sandra and Robert Gard of DeMont, a son; Thomas and Connie Lowry of Grovertown, a brother; Wilmer and Edna Bottorff of Portage, and a sister; Margaret Moon of Roanoke. Also surviving are15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sally Dixon.

Services will be held Friday, November 14, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with The Rev. William Kaster, of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Grovertown cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 13, 2003 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to The American Red Cross Food Bank, 215 West Garro Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563 or to Marshall County Hospice, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth.

Gertrude E. Milliser, 68, of 6189 Cedar Street, Rochester, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2003 at 10:05 a.m. at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.

She was born on May 27, 1935 in Plymouth to Delbert and Etta (Kirkham) Masterson.

She married Donald H. Milliser, Sr. He passed away in 1991.

She is survived by her sons; Donald Jr. and Rebecca Milliser of Plymouth, Mike and Bobbie Milliser of Plymouth, Ronald and Ruth Milliser of Argos, and Roger and Karen Milliser of Delong, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters; Lena Cunningham, Mary Shafer, Charlie Masterson, and Leona Williams all of Texas, Paul and Deb Masterson of Bourbon, Delbert Jr. and Beth Masterson of Rochester, Jenny and Phil Michaels of Akron, Nancy Gilbert of Delong, and Robert and Iva Masterson of Leiters Ford. Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers; William and Roy (Butch) Masterson.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with The Rev. Ron Rueburg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

Friends may call Wednesday, November 12, 2003 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

William C. Strong, 72, of 12431 West 11th Road, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at his home in Plymouth.

He was born on August 18, 1931 in Elkhart to Donald and Mary (Harmon) Strong.

William married Carolyn Ledford on August 15, 1969 in Plymouth, Indiana. He had worked for Del Monte for 20 years and Aker Plastics for five years. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict in the Btry B 145th Bn. Bill was a member of the Marshall County Marco Bass Masters.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, a daughter; Oletta Webb of Elkhart, a son; James Strong of Goshen, a daughter; Lori and Jeffery Powers of Maryland, and a daughter; Julie Moyer of Phoenix, Arizona. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with The Rev. Thomas Padberg officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday, November 4, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Marshall County Cancer, P.O. Box 895, Plymouth or to the Marshall County Hospice 112 South Center Street, Plymouth.

Marie Starr, 85, of 309 Kingston Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003 at 9:43 a.m. at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Plymouth Campus.

She was born on June 1, 1918 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Oral and Ida (Hill) Crabb.

She married Harold Leotis Starr on November 23, 1938 in Plymouth. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1969. She was also preceded in death by two sons Allen in 1997 and Ronald in 2003.

Marie worked and retired from the dietary department at Marshall County Parkview Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters; Jancie and Donald Sisco of Monterey, Wanda and David Barlag of Brunswich, Maine, and Rosanna Starr of Plymouth, her sons; Larry and Dorothy Starr and Glenn and Linda Starr, both of Plymouth. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Brian Barlag, Greg Barlag, Tim and Danielle Starr, Krista and Toby Darkins, Matt Starr, Brett and Sharon Starr, Laura Holmes, Karen Holmes, and Bobby Holmes. Ten great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive.

Services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with The Rev. David Kerkove officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Della M. Short, 87, of 9601 Union Road, Donaldson, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 4:45 a.m. at The Catherine Kasper Life Care Center, Donaldson.

She was born on January 17, 1916 in Dalton Illinois to Joseph and Margaret Kason.

She married Wilbur Short. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother and her sister.

Della was a member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church and had worked for the Plymouth Community Schools in the dietary department. She had lived in Plymouth for 62 years.

She is survived by her son; Robert and Mary Short of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

Services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Plymouth, with Father Edward Ssebbowa officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday, October 30, 2003 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

Harriett E. Rosebaum, 86, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, passed away Friday, October 24, 2003 at 1:15 p.m. at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, in Plymouth.

Harriett was born on September 18, 1917 in Elyria, Ohio to Buros and Margaret (Mier) Brockus. She moved to Argos when she was a child and spent her adult life in Argos. She married Frank Harrell. He passed away in 1981. She married John Rosebaum in 1985 and he passed away in 1990. She was a member of the Walnut Township Home Ec. Club.

Harriett is survived by her son, Frank and Connie Harrell of Argos, and her daughter, Ann and Richard Tuttle of Argos. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, three sisters, and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her husbands, four sisters, and a brother.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth. Burial will be at the Maple Grove cemetery.

Friends may call Monday, October 27, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

E. Pauline Craft, 91, of 600 Oak Hill Avenue, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 12:10 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor, Plymouth.

She was born on March 16, 1912 in St. Marys, West Virginia to Edwin and Madge (Wolfe) Waggoner.

She married George H. Craft on May 8, 1935 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He passed away on July 16, 1968. They moved to Plymouth in 1940. Pauline was also preceded in death by a son, Edwin, and three daughters; Marilyn, and infants, Sandra Kay and Pauline; three brothers and a sister.

Pauline was a member of the Church of God in LaPaz. She worked in the office of Marathon Oil, as a clerk.

Pauline was a woman blessed with a deep faith and a fiercely independent spirit. She made her way through a challenging life with courage and dignity and humor. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who each have special and personal memories of their times with her. She took special pride in her great-grandchildren and their activities and accomplishments. They could always count on her to be there with a laugh and a jar of candy corn. An accomplished seamstress and an avid crocheter, she left each of her family members with beautiful mementos of her handiwork.

She is survived by her daughters; Carol and David Schroeder of Mishawaka, Ruby and David Koby of Kentland; a sister, Ava Ackerson of Parkersburg, West Virginia, 8 grandchildren, and12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Friday, October 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Dean Snyder officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2003 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street in Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Marshall County Hospice, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana, 46563.

Cecelia E. Bernero-Dipert-Shireman, 82, of 309 Kingston Street, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 12:00 p.m. in Plymouth Nursing and Rehab Center, Plymouth.

She was born on February 21, 1921 in Plymouth to Steve and Elva (Manuwal) Kinsey.

She is survived by a son, Mike Bernero of Plymouth; her daughters, Sondre and Kenneth Kamp of Plymouth, Mona and Pete Stetler of Plymouth, and Mary Dipert of Argos; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A family service was held with Rev. Mark Fishburn officiating. Burial was in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Van Gilder Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Marshall County Hospice, 112 South Center Street, Plymouth, Indiana.
