Marjorie A. Bright, 65, of 815 West Jackson Street, Plymouth, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2004 at 12:40 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

She was born on December 21, 1938 in Stillwell, Indiana to Merlin and Bertha (Hancock) Jolly.

On November 9, 1957 she and Chancey Bright were married in Plymouth,

Marjorie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Plymouth. She helped with the Girl Scout and Brownie Troops, and was a long time volunteer, and supporter, of Marshall-Starke Development Center, when they started. Marjorie retired from Penguin Point, in Plymouth.

She is survived by her husband, Chancey; their sons, Dave, Michael W., and Gary L. all of Plymouth; their daughter, Sally Jernstrom of Plymouth; her brother, Marion and Gladys Jolly of Plymouth, her sister, Mary Jane and William Saunders of Walla Walla, Washington; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2004 at 10:30 a.m.at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Rev. Dr. E. Dean Fager officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to American Diabetes Association, 7363 East 21st Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Robert L. Geist

Robert L. Geist, 76, of 309 Baker Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 3:20 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

He was born on September 11, 1927 in Saint Joseph County to Alfred and Roseine (Judt) Geist. His family moved to Marshall County when he was a child.

Robert married Betty Jensen on September 10, 1949 at her parents home, in Donaldson. They had been married for 54 years.

Robert was a very loving family man and devoted to his family. He owned R. Geist Heating and Air Conditioning and was in sales all of his life. During the Korean Conflict he served in the Indiana National Guard and was almost called up for full duty. Bob studied trains by reading and watching documentaries on TV, and could tell you about any one of them when he saw them on the rails. He loved to garden and raise flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; their son, Robert Geist, Jr. of Plymouth; their daughter, Anita and David Kordecki of Austin, Texas; his sister, Betty Decker of Argos; his brother, Alfred and Sandy Geist, Jr. of Plymouth; a granddaughter Mamie and Jason Ambling of Bremen, and three step-grandchildren Hal Browning, Jason Kordecki and Laura Kordecki.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. in Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Rev. David Kerkove officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.

Friends may call Tuesday, January 13, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Plymouth Church of the Brethren or to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Donaldson.

Ralph Carl Masten, 77, of 14780 West 5th Road, Plymouth, passed away Friday, January 9, 2004 at 7:45 a.m. at his home in Plymouth.

He was born on September 26, 1926 in Plymouth to Fred and Hilda (Alhgrun) Masten.

He married Letty Kepler on February 16, 1947 and they have been married for 56 years.

Ralph retired from C & L Manufacturing at Bremen in 1990. He was a supervisor at Plymouth Homes for many years. He also enjoyed farming as a hobby. Ralph was a 50 year member of the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Lodge in Culver. He was also a member of the First United Church of Christ, Plymouth.

He is survived by his wife, Letty; their sons, John and Jackie Masten and Dan and Gloria Jean Masten both of Plymouth; his sister, Paula Jane Kemp of Freemont, Indiana; three grandchildren, Trella McGee, Tammy Harrell, and Fred Masten all of Plymouth; a great-grandson, Shawn Masten; four step-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. John Glantt officiating. Burial will be in the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. cemetery, Culver.

Friends may call Monday, January 12, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth. The Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. will hold a lodge service at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the First United Church of Christ or to Starke County Hospice.

Robert D. Andrews, 53, of 1403 Timberwood Court, Bremen, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 4:26 p.m. at his home in Bremen.

He was born on July 6, 1950 in Marshall County to Cecil and Pat (Gilbert) Andrews.

He married Jo Ann Shively on October 30, 1971 in Plymouth.

Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam, and was a Marshall County Deputy with the sheriff's department for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; their sons Tom and Cindi Andrews of Plymouth and Joe and Stacy Andrews of Osceola; a grandson, Robert Andrews of Osceola, Indiana; a granddaughter, Christina Andrews of Plymouth; his brother, Jim and Tammy Andrews of North Liberty, and his sisters, Jeanne Martin of Plymouth and Susie of Noblesville, Indiana.

Friends may call Friday, January 9, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Harvey A. Larson, 88, of 901 Ferndale Street, Plymouth, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 1:10 a.m. at Regency Place in South Bend.

He was born on April 25, 1915 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to Arthur and Velva (Wilhide) Larson.

Harvey married Dorothy Carr on June 6, 1941 in Mineria, Ohio. They were married for 62 years. They moved to Plymouth in 1963.

Harvey was the general manager of Bomarko, Inc. when he moved to Plymouth. He served his country during WWII, in the Army, with the 82nd Airborne as a Staff Sgt. Harvey was in eleven different countries during the war. He was a member of the Frist United Methodist Church, Plymouth and the V.F.W. Post in Mineriva, Ohio.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, their daughter, Janine and Doug Reid of Plymouth, their son, Andrew and Denise Larson of Fishers, Indiana, his brother, Arthur Larson, Jr. of Sun City, Florida, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Ann.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth, with Rev. Dr. E. Dean Fager officiating.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 7, 2004 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Harlan G. Stull, 78, of 3215 South 1075 East, LaGrange, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2004 at 3:15 p.m. at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on January 6, 1925 in LaPaz, to Glenn and Opal (Whiteman) Stull.

He married Elizabeth Ries on October 6, 1977 in Coldwater, Michigan.

Harlan worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in the federal crop insurance department. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge #353 of Lakeville and has lived in LaGrange since 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his son, Devon and Susie Stull of Plymouth, his daughter, Dawn and Carl Migure of Argos, his step-children; Patty Reis of Angola, Indiana, Carol and David Brown of Qunicy, Michigan, Scott and Mary Reis of Chandler, Arizona, Fred W. Reis of Phoniex, Arizona, and Suzanne and David Gregory of Scottsdale, Arizona, his sisters; Phyllis and Jr. Guthrie of Plymouth, and Willodean Gilupker of Saint Joseph, Michigan, his brother, John and Betty Stull of Walkerton. Also surviving are; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Kenneth Ludwig and Rev. John Glantt officiating. Burial will be at the Barber cemetery.

Friends may call Monday, January 5, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth. There will be a Masonic Lodge Service at 8:00 p.m., on Monday, at the Funeral Home.

Adrian Schlabach, 75, of 730 School Street, Culver, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 8:33 a.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

He was born on March 20, 1928 in Noble County to Grover and Bernice (Stump) Schalbach.

Adrian served his country during the Korean Conflict. The Culver V.F.W. will conduct a military graveside service.

He is survived by a friend, Esther Mc Farland of Culver, and his sisters, Doris Ott of Albion, Indiana and Fredonna Wisman of Warsaw, Indiana.

Services will be held Friday, January 2, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home in Plymouth, with Rev. Irwin officiating. Burial will be at the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. cemetery, Culver.

Friends may call Friday, January 2, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

Lowell W. Rogers, 75, of 222 Parkview Street, Plymouth, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 5:28 p.m. in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

He was born on January 15, 1928 in Marshall County, to Alfred and Vonnie (Seider) Rogers.

Lowell worked as a farm hand and served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1162 and the American Legion Post #27 both in Plymouth.

He is survived by his sister, Eileen (Hugh) Quivey of Plymouth, and his brother, Ernest Rogers of Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the donor's choice.
