Ralph E. Wegner

CORY - Ralph E. Wegner, 63, of Cory, died at 9:05 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Union Hospital after an extended illness. He was an assistant mail carrier for Bemis Co. Inc. for 24 years, retiring in 1994 because of health problems. He was born Nov. 16, 1939, in Clay County to Richard Allen Wegner and Bernice A. Fretz Wegner. Survivors include his wife, Mary Anne Wright, whom he married Oct. 7, 1967; his mother, Bernice Wegner of Brazil; one son, Anthony Edwin Wegner and his wife, Bryanna of Terre Haute; one granddaughter, Alexandra Taylor Hughes; one sister, Delores Haddon and her husband, Roy of Reelsville; three sisters-in-law, Jean Wegner of Cincinnati, Wanda Caton and her husband, Jerry, and Mary Lou Sullivan; several nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded by his father; one brother, Richard Warren Wegner, a brother-in-law Robert Simpson and his wife, Patsy. He was graduated from Brazil High School in 1958. He was a member of the Cory United Methodist Church and served as a trustee and other church capacities. Services are 1 p.m. Friday in French Funeral Home with the Revs. Owen Youngblood and Anthony Ferrell officiating. Burial is in Cory Zion cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday prior to services.

Gary Lee Wilguess Jr.

Gary Lee Wilguess Jr., 33, of West Terre Haute, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in his residence. He had formerly been a roofer with Fred Morris Roofing before his illness. He was born July 14, 1970, in Terre Haute to Gary Wilguess Sr. and Thelma Elkins Wilguess. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Thelma and Terry Higginbotham of West Terre Haute; his father and stepmother, Gary Wilguess Sr. and Joyce Wilguess of West Terre Haute; three children, Hared Wilguess of West Terre Haute, and Gabriel and Keelie Wilguess of Terre Haute; his paternal grandmother, Betty Wilguess; his maternal grandfather, Ted Elkins; three sisters, Lisa Wilguess of West Terre Haute, and Shonnie VanGilder and Candy Higginbotham, both of Terre Haute; two stepsisters, Lora Davis of Clinton and Amanda West of Terre Haute; one stepbrother, Brad Donnelly of West Terre Haute, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Elkins, and his paternal grandfather, Bert Wilguess. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Bob Weeks and Chris Wilbur officiating. Burial is in Bethesda cemetery. Visitation is noon until services Thursday. Pallbearers will be Brad Donnelly, Ben Cooper, James Cox, Bill McCalister, Jake Lindley and Jury Sollars. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund in his name with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Bertha B. Grimes Hoffman Porter

BRAZIL - Bertha B. Grimes Hoffman Porter, 86, of Springfield, Ind., and formerly of Brazil died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, in Westview Manor Nursing Center in Bedford. She was born Aug. 8, 1917, in Brazil to Elmer Franklin Grimes and Emily Gaynelle McKenzie Grimes. Survivors include two sons, Ronald Hoffman and Lawrence Hoffman; one daughter, Thelma Valentine, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one stepson, two stepdaughters and several step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, J. Harvey Hoffman, who died May 16, 1968, and Lee C. Porter, who died Jan. 19, 1993. Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Moore Funeral Home. Burial is in Clearview cemetery, west of Brazil. Visitation is 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford and noon until services Friday in Moore Funeral Home.

Florence E. Carlson

CLINTON - Florence E. Carlson, 92, of Clinton died at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, in her daughter's residence. She had worked at G.C. Murphy and J.C. Penney for 16 years before retiring. She was born Feb. 20, 1911, in Klondyke to Lawrence Vale and Hallie Lunger Vale. Her husband, Floyd Carlson, whom she married Nov. 21, 1929, died April 4, 1993. Survivors include one son, F. Richard Carlson and wife, Virginia, of Riverton, Ill.; one daughter, Shirley Ann Megenhardt and husband, Harold Sr., of Fairview; five grandchildren, Lynnette Rae Carlson of Bloomington, Ind., Nancy LeeAnn Carlson and husband, Michael Heddleston, of Forsythe, Ill., Lawrence Richard Carlson of Springfield, Ill., Charles Procairone and wife, Catherine, of Clinton, and Brenda Jacks and husband, Keith, of Clinton; four great-grandchildren, Beth Procairone, A.J. Procairone, Courtney Jacks and Austin Jacks; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Adam Wood and Brandy Wood; and one sister-in-law, Hannah Fritz of Novi, Mich. Also preceding her in death was one grandson, Tommy Joe Carlson, who died Aug. 31, 1955. She was an 80-year member of the First Baptist Church in Clinton, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 254. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday in Frist Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Rissler officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. today, with OES memorial services at 7.

Christina 'Katie' Curry

CENTENARY - Christina "Katie" Curry, 93, of Centenary died at 9:31 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, in Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton. She was a seamstress, retired from Windbreakers in Paris, Ill. She was born Oct. 22, 1909, in Clinton to Andrea Longo and Francesca Leona Longo. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. "Boots" Curry, in 1960. Survivors include one daughter, Oralene Killebrew and husband, Nolan, of Clinton; one son, James "Melvin" Curry and wife, Lillian, of Centenary; one daughter-in-law, Faye Curry of Paris; four granddaughters, Jane Coffin, Christy Daniels, Rebecca Hatheway and Rachael Killebrew; five grandsons, Keith Curry, Michael Curry, Marvin Curry, Robert Johnson and Forrest Curry; two step grandsons, Keith Cox and Paul Killebrew; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; four stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece, Frances Leder and husband, John, of Detroit; two great-nephews; three great-nieces and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Raymond, three brothers, Sebastiano Longo and Bernardo Longo of Italy and Sebastiano Longo of Clinton; and two sisters, Theresa of Italy and Rose Moseley of Detroit. Services are 1 p.m. today in Karanovich Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Mattson officiating. Burial is in Riverside cemetery in Clinton.

Gerald 'Jerry' Keeley

PLYMOUTH - Gerald "Jerry" Keeley, 61, of Plymouth, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2003, in his home. He was born March 19, 1942, in Joliet, Ill., to Francis "Cheddy" and Blanche Dack Keeley. Survivors include one daughter, Karoline Kellam and husband, Doug, of Hinsdale, Ill.; two step granddaughters, Kristin and Jackie Kellam; former wife, Diana Kinnard Keeley of Naperville; one sister, Janet Danley and husband, Rick, of Elgin, Ill.; nieces, Suzanne Everett and husband, Brian, of Louisville, Karen Austin and husband, Bradley, of Streator, Ill., and one nephew, Doug Danley and wife, Nicole, of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Danley's former wife, Muriel Keeley, of Wisconsin. He graduated from Parsons College in Iowa and had a life-long involvement with the Republican party working on the Barry Goldwater presidential campaign. He worked for several years for Uniroyal, four years at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, four and one-half years at the Eau Claire Tire Plant in Wisconsin and 15 years at the Newport Army Ammunition Plant. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday in Freitag Funeral Home in Wilmington, Ill. Burial is in Oakwood cemetery in Wilmington. Visitation is 1 p.m. until services Saturday.

Gregory P. Brown

Gregory P. Brown, 54, of Terre Haute died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, in Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, following 22 years of service and most recently was an ion technician for Standard Register Co. He was born Dec. 7, 1947, in Terre Haute to George E. Brown and Betty J. Bailey Brown. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Coleman Brown; three children, Dean Brown and Michelle Brown, both of Terre Haute and Tracey O'Malley and her husband Thomas of Indianapolis; his parents of Terre Haute; two brothers, Michael Brown of Tennessee, and Patrick Brown of Dallas; one sister, Valerie Brown of Brownsburg; two grandchildren, Faith O'Malley and Tommy O'Malley; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Brown and Jefferson Brown. He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School and attended Indiana State University. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, was a member of Hoosier Big Country Society and Gold Prospectors Association of America. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St. Cremation will follow with private services and disposition to take place at a later time. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Wegener's Granulomatosis Association, P.O. Box 28660, Kansas City, MO 64188-8660.

John "Jack' Edward Lindeman

John "Jack" Edward Lindeman of Tucson and formerly of Terre Haute died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, in Tucson, Ariz., where he had lived since 1971. He and his family owned and operated L&K; Contracting Co., Inc., for several decades. He was born Sept. 3, 1913, in Terre Haute to Paul Lindeman and Helen Neukom Lindeman. Survivors include his wife, Katherine Cushman Lindeman; his children, Ann and Steve Wolnick and Polly Lindeman; grandchildren, Meridith Wolnick, Michelle Grove, Stephanie and Tom Christian, Elizabeth Marie Wolnick, Katie Dreyer, Kevin Hall, Orienne Dreyer and Michael Brown; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Lindeman and Louise McCullough; special nephew and niece, Steven and Glorene Lindeman; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Andrew; and two brothers, Bill and Bob. He was a graduate of Garfield High School and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. After moving to Tucson he was the southern supervisor for the State of Arizona Environmental Division until 1983. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Terre Haute Masonic Lodge 19 Free & Accepted Masons and Scottish Rite. He was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church before moving to Tucson. A Celebration of Life is 1 p.m. Saturday in Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson. Bring's Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, assisted with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 5132 E. Pima, Tucson, AZ 85712.

Joseph A. Weaver

Joseph A. Weaver, 78, of Terre Haute died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, in Union Hospital. He was a supervisor with American Can Co., for 26 years. He was born March 17, 1923, in Terre Haute to Walter A. Weaver and Jesse B. Page Weaver. Survivors include his wife, Wilma J. Ross Weaver; one sister, Bertha Jo Don of DeQueens, Ark.; six nephews, Jack Patercsak, Ron Leetz, Robbie Bauer, Ryan Bauer, Jeremiah Leetz and Gavin Bauer; and nine nieces, Sandra Leetz, Darlene Patercsak, Lori Leetz, Chellie Leetz, Lori Bauer, Lecia Bumpus, Jaclyn Bumpus, Lauren Bumpus and Emalie Bumpus. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Brenda Jo Weaver; one sister, Mary Frances Plunkett; and two brothers, Ralph "Buck" Weaver and Ray Weaver. He also was a retired school bus driver from Vigo County School Corp., and was a jazz musician with "Five Guys Plus 1" and other local bands. He was a member of Social Lodge 86 Free & Accepted Masons, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Zorah Shrine and Krietenstein Post 105 American Legion. Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in Roselawn Funeral Home. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park, with graveside services by American Legion Post 104. Visitation is 10 a.m. until services Tuesday.

Brenda D. Wilson

Brenda D. Wilson, 41, of West Terre Haute died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, in her residence. She was born July 3, 1960, in Vigo County to John Wilson and Peggy Fields. Survivors include her parents; one son, Brent Allan Montgomery; one sister, Kathy Jean Warrem; one brother, John Joshua "Fuzz" Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Services are pending in Mattox-Bedino West Terre Haute Chapel.

Edna Mae Montgomery

CLOVERDALE - Edna Mae Montgomery, 95, of Cloverdale died at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in Cloverdale Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Aug. 4, 1906, in Cloverdale to Thomas Hart Morris and Sadie Catherine Dickerson Morris. Her husband, Forrest F. Montgomery, died Dec. 28, 1970. Survivors include one daughter, Lynette Leonard; one son, John D. Montgomery; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Whitaker Funeral Home, with Brother Lowell Barr officiating. Burial is in Gosport cemetery in Gosport. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Billy Lee Rhoderick

JASONVILLE - Billy Lee Rhoderick, 70, of Jasonville died at 5:06 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in his residence. He was born June 23, 1931, in Jasonville to William Harrison Rhoderick and Opal Irene Roseberry Rhoderick. Survivors include his wife, Glendora Jones Rhoderick; three daughters, Kathryn Gretencord, Betty Schunk and Sandy Mason; two sons, Roger Dale Rhoderick and Calvin Richard Rhoderick; four brothers, Joe Rhoderick, James Rhoderick, George Rhoderick and Jerry Rhoderick; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Wednesday in Peavey cemetery in Howesville. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Wednesday in McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home.

Wanda C. Richardson

SHELBURN - Wanda C. Richardson, 79, of Shelburn died at 12:49 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan. She was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Sullivan to Arthur Richard Thrasher and Lucy Ellen Miller Thrasher. Her husband, James E. Richardson, died July 20, 2001. Survivors include two sons, David Richardson and Mike Richardson; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Order of Eastern Star memorial services are 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mattox-McHugh Shelburn Chapel, followed by funeral services, with the Rev. Terry Chandler officiating. Burial is in Westlawn cemetery in Farmersburg. Visitation is 9 a.m. until services Tuesday.

Rosemary Caress

Rosemary Caress, 85, of Terre Haute died at 9:13 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born April 22, 1916, in Diamond to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pattison. Survivors include one son, Michael Wayne Caress; one daughter, Susann Olson; five grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Carolyn Ann Milton

Carolyn Ann Milton, 9, of Terre Haute and formerly of West Terre Haute died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in her family's residence in Terre Haute. She was born July 30, 1992, in Terre Haute to Bill L. Milton and Tammy Campbell Milton. Survivors include her parents; one sister, Barbara Sue Milton; one brother, Charles Milton; her grandfather, Augustus Campbell; and aunts, uncles and cousins. Services are pending in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home.
