Kamden J. Carroll
Kamden J. Carroll, 2, of Elwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital.
He was born Feb. 17, 2005, in Anderson, the son of John and Heather (Runyan) Carroll.
He loved to be outdoors fishing, playing and especially playing baseball.
He is survived by his parents, John and Heather Carroll of Elwood; brothers, Kaleb Carroll and Kaden Carroll, both at home; stepsister, Brittanie Tomlin of Anderson; stepbrother, Jesse Tomlin of Anderson; paternal grandparents, Jim and Betsy Carroll of Frankton; maternal grandmother, Gina Naylor of Frankton; maternal grandfather, Alan and Kathy Runyan of Anderson; great-grandfather, Bill Weaver of Elwood; great-grandparents, Judy and Don Davis of Mississippi; several aunts, uncles and cousins and special friends, Frye Frye and Bee Bee.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dean Hayward officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gerald L. Fite
NAVARRE, Fla. – Gerald L. Fite, 65, of Navaree, Fla., and formerly of Elwood, died Sept. 18, 2007, at his home in Navaree.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carol (Pike) Fite; a daughter, Carla Furtado of Destin, Fla.; a son, Greg Fite of Navarre, Fla.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Dellinger of Elwood; two brothers, Jack Fite of Anderson and Ronnie Fite of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was handled by the Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, Fla.
Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, Inc., 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, Fla. 32504.

Services
Funeral services for Ethel E. Gordon-Garner, of Frankton and formerly of Rigdon, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Aroma United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Aroma Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Clem Dye, of Elwood, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, with Pastor Paulette Stahlke officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Vera Mae Bauer, Tipton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. David Leeder officiating. Burial will be in Tetersburg Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Myrtle V. Brenner
ALEXANDRIA – Myrtle V. (Shores) Brenner, 88, of Alexandria, died Sept. 23, 2007, at Valley View Health Care Center in Elkhart after an extended illness.
She was born April 28, 1919, in Mena, Ark., the son of Trent A. and Belva (Tomlin) Shores.
She had resided in the Alexandria area since 1945.
Myrtle had worked for the Alexandria Glove Corporation, formerly of Alexandria and she was a former member of the Alexandria VFW Auxiliary.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was well known and appreciated for her delicious cooking.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Lowe of Elwood; a daughter, Madge Thompson of Marion; six grandchildren, Celinda and husband, Mike Shafer of Elkhart, Jack and wife, Anita Lowe of Elkhart, Kurtis and wife, Mindy Mitchell of Anderson, and Mike Thompson, Keith Thompson and companion, Debbie Bright, and Scott McRoberts, all of Marion; 11 great-grandchildren, Valeria and husband, Robert VanBuskirk, Ashley Mitchell, both of Anderson, Cassandra and husband, Brad Pratt, Jon Shafer, Erick Shafer, James and wife, Jessica Davis Jr., Anthony Lowe, all of Elkhart, Justin Thompson of Summitville, JC Thompson of Huntington, Brandon Thompson and Ryan Thompson, both of Marion and Cassandra Rea of Gas City; two great-great-granddaughters, Trenity Davis and Madasin Lorraine Davis, both of Elkhart; a sister, Wyvonne Hooper in Texas and several nieces and nephews, including, Deriell and wife, Louise Logan of Elwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Winfield Lowe and Jack Brenner; a son, Trent Lowe, who died Jan. 13, 2007; sisters, Helen Jean Shores, Juanita Tobin and Christine Hamadene; grandsons, Andrew and Scotty Lowe; and great-granddaughters, Heather Thompson and Tianna Thompson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to celebrate Myrtle’s life at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, with the Rev. Harrison Williams of the Calvary Baptist Chapel in Alexandria officiating.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association through the funeral home.

James Norman Miller
SHARPSVILLE – James Norman Miller, 52, Sharpsville, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007 in Bermuda.
Born Jan. 31, 1955 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of James A. and Laura I. (Parrish) Miller. They survive.
On June 23, 1973 he married Nancy J. Kolkman in Fort Wayne. She also survives.
He graduated in 1973 from Elmhurst High School and attended college for two years. He was employed as a draftsman for Delphi in Kokomo. He had lived in Sharpsville for 18 years.
He was a member of Galveston Archery Club, Diving Den, Sharpsville Archery Club, National Archery Association.
Along with his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters, Michelle A. Miller and Ashley M. Miller, both of Sharpsville; two sisters, Kanda L. Bonano and Teresa A. Fawley, both of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boyer Funeral Home in Sharpsville. The Rev. Keith Cramer will officiate. Burial will be in Sharpsville.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Miller Trust Fund, in care of Key Bank, 300 Southway Blvd. East, Kokomo, IN 46901

Catherine Jackson
Catherine Jackson, 96, of Elwood, went to be with her loving God on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Community Hospital in Anderson.
Mrs. Jackson was born March 1, 1911, in Madison County to the late Robert and Callie (Funk) Ellis.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Shiloh Friends Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda S. Durr of Elwood and Callie A. Jackson of Elwood; four sons, Marvin E. and wife, Ellen of Sarasota, Fla., Wayne L. and wife, Joan of Frankton; Edward M. and wife, Judy of Pendleton and Jim J. and wife, Carol of Ridgeville; a sister, Dolly Dial of Elwood; four brothers, Joseph Ellis of Anderson, David Ellis of Anderson, Carl Ellis of Lapel and Chet Ellis of Swayzee; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ocar M. Jackson, who died Feb. 6, 1972; her parents; a brother, John Ellis; a sister, Lillian Farr; a grandchild, Jeanie Jackson; and a great-grandchild, Hope Brinson.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home in Frankton, with the Rev. Al Covell of the Frankton Christian Church and Edward Jackson, a son, officiating. Burial will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice through the funeral home.

Mildred H. Gustin
ALEXANDRIA – Mildred H. Gustin, 84, of Alexandria, died Sept. 28, 2007, at Community Hospital in Anderson.
She was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Jennings County, the daughter of Fred and Cleo Mae (Mills) Stroud.
She was a former member of the Alexandria Church of God and had attended the Summitville Wesleyan Bible Holiness Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mildred White, Mary Ann Remy and Sue Halverson, all of Alexandria; two sons, William Gustin of Alexandria and Theodore Gustin of Anderson; nine sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Gustin and a daughter, Marsha Gustin.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, with the Rev. Jason Baker officiating.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Noffze Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Naomi Robinson
Naomi Robinson, 86, Tipton died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.
Born April 9, 1921 in Tipton County, she was the daughter of Fred and Nina (Keeler) Wolverton.
On July 20, 1951 she married Peter Thomas Robinson. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1972.
Naomi had worked at the Tipton County Auditor’s office and also had been the bookkeeper at Tipton County Highway for years.
She belonged to West Street Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters; Nina Balser and husband, David of Cambridge City and Linda Rikard of Kokomo.
Naomi had six grandchildren: Taralee Rikard, Nicci Rikard, Shanna Willis, Cory Balser, Brooke Balser and Erika Gilman and five great-grandchildren, Sean Beebout, Derek Beebout, Jenna Rikard, Carson Willis and Carter Wright.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Wolverton and a sister, Wilda Stevens.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home. The Rev. Roger Burns-Watson will preside. Burial will follow at Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday.

Bruce H. Hight
NOBLESVILLE – Bruce H. Hight, 58, Noblesville, died at 11:18 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28, 2007 at St. Vincent's Hospice in Indianapolis.
He was the son of Joseph E. and Betty L. Hight. He married Kaye Hight. She survives.
He had worked at Chrysler, Custom Concrete, Wal-Mart and Noblesville schools.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietname War. He was a member of Bass Anglers of Tipton and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He will be sadly missed by many loved ones and friends.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Angela Dahl, Jennifer Wright and Leslie Hight; four grandsons, all of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Larry Hight and Tracy Hight of Tipton; a sister, Terri Thompson of Mishawaka; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1979 and his mother in 2000.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home in Tipton. Dennis Chapman will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society or the Hamilton County Humane Society.
