John C. Hueston
ALEXANDRIA – John C. Hueston, 71, of Alexandria, died Sept. 28, 2007, at his home after an extended illness.
He was born July 25, 1936, in Alexandria, the son of Robert E. and Katherine (Greenlee) Hues-ton.
He had resided in the Summitville-Alexandria area all his life.
He was a 1954 graduate of Summitville High School.
He had worked for Wickes Lumber, formerly of Elwood, for more than 30 years. In 2000, he retired from Elwood Building Supply. He was an active member of the Alexandria First Christian Church where he had served as a deacon. He was also a long time member of the Alexandria Lions Club.
John enjoyed sports, particularly supporting his grandson’s sport activities. He was a coin collector. Quiet in manner, John was a compassionate man with a very dry sense of humor. His smile will be sadly missed, but warmly remembered.
Survivors include his wife, Pat (Walston) Hueston, whom he married Feb. 2, 1958; two daughters, Anita and husband, Mark Dinehart of Alexandria and Vicki and husband, Austin Custer of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Amanda Custer, Ashley Custer, Donnie Dinehart and Derek Dinehart; a brother, Larry and wife, Sue Hueston of Alexandria; a special niece and a special nephew; mother-in-law, Ruby Watson of Alexandria; close friends, Joyce and U.B. White of Alexandria; and special four legged companion, Joey.
He was preceded in death by his father, 1980; his mother, 1999; and a son, James Hueston, Dec. 1, 1996.
A worship service honoring John’s life and faith will take place Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the First Christian Church in Alexandria, with Pastor Sharon Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Owens Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund through the funeral home.

Arnold E. Waymire
ALEXANDRIA – Arnold E. “Bud” Waymire, 96, of Alexandria, died Sept. 29, 2007, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus in Anderson after an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 11, 1910, in Elwood, the son of Ernest and Lottie (Bagley) Waymire.
He lived in the Alexandria area all his life.
Arnold had worked for Waymire Trucking and Linwood Grain for several years. He retired from Guide Lamp, formerly of Anderson following 36 years of employment.
He attended the First Chrisitan Church of Alexandria.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter, Marylou and husband, Robert Shirar of Jupiter, Fla.; stepdaughter, Joyce and husband, U.B. White of Alexandria; two grandchildren, Sherri Hilltard of Far Hills, N.J. and Tammi Friskney of Montgomery, Ala.; three stepgrandchildren, Cindy Thomas of Alexandria, Kent and wife, Robin White of Hawkinsville, Ga. and Vickie White of Indianapolis; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Friskney and Ethan Friskney; two step-
great-grandchildren, Ariel White and Dustin White; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lois Farren Waymire who died in 1978; his second wife, Grace Hensley Waymire, who died in 2001; and a brother, Robert Waymire, 1975.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria, with the Rev. Jack Wachenschwanz and Pastor Sharon Lang officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the outstanding care and love that was shown to Arnold by all of the staff members of Bethany Point Health Campus.

Robert Alan Benedix
CICERO – Robert Alan Benedix, 63, Cicero, died Sept. 28, 2007 at his home.
Born Aug. 29, 1944 at Benton Harbor, Mich., he was the son of Clarence and Edna (Reschke) Benedix. His mother survives in Alma, Mich.
He married Linda Rose Dooley. She survives.
He was a graduate of the Michigan Police Academy and was a retired Michigan State Police officer. After retirement he was a private investigator.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville, the Indiana and Kentucky Association of Professional Investigators and the Anderson Obedience Training Club, Inc.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Kayle Benedix of St. George, Utah; a daughter, Sara Baker of Collinsville, Ill.; two grandchildren; a step-son, Eric Linton of Franklin; a step-daughter, Erin Jacobs of Greenfield; and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Mark Alan Benedix who died June 13, 1995.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Pastor Corrine Boruff will officiate. Burial will be in Wilsie Cemetery in DeWitt, Mich.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument St., Noblesville, IN 46060.

Biography: Dollie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. For most of her life, she was a homemaker, doting on her sons and eventually her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In the late 1980's she joined the Alexandria Pizza King family where she touched the lives of those around her until her retirement in 1998. Dollie loved gardening, spending time with her family, was known for her delicious cooking and enjoyed watching her favorite driver, Tony Stewart on Sunday afternoons.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home from 4 PM to 7 PM on Sunday.
Memorial Contributions: May be made to the resident’s activity fund of the Summit Convalescent Center through the funeral home

Avis “Julie” Fischer
CICERO – Avis “Julie” Fischer, 70, Cicero, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville.
Born Sept. 20, 1937, she was the daughter of Arthur Robert and Avis Clara Edna (Harold) Manley.
She had worked as a seamstress and as a custodian for Indianapolis Public Schools.
She was a member of Cicero United Methodist Church, Noblesville Senior Citizens and Noblesville Moose Lodge.
She is survived by a daughter, Tina Wright of Noblesville; a son, Paul Beasley of Noblesville, five grandchildren and a brother, Robert Manley of Japan.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cicero United Methodist Church. Pastors Vicki Hobbs and Byron Fritz will officiate.
Visitation will take place one hour before services.
Arrangements are being handled by Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society c/o Hartley Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 407, Cicero, IN 46034.

Mary Helen Carter
ALEXANDRIA – Mary Helen Carter, 82, Alexandria, died Oct. 1, 2007, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Indianapolis, to Edgar Bennie and Hattie (Chrismer) Street.
She resided in the Alexandria area most of her lifetime.
Helen had worked for Aladdin Industries, Haynes-Stellite and the H&H Sandwich Shop, all formerly of Alexandria. She also worked at the Alexandria Bakery for 25 years, retiring in 1989.
She was a member of the Church of Saint Mary in Alexandria and the Daughters of Isabella of the church.
Helen spent most of her life helping others, whether it would be at her job, in her neighborhood or within her church family. Her sharp sense of humor, quick comebacks and ornery grin will be fondly remembered by many.
Survivors include two nephews, Merle Street Jr. and wife, Velma of Anderson and Jack and wife, Marlene Street of Alexandria; four nieces, Catherine Holford and Judy Brena, both of Alexandria, Janet and husband, David Johnson of Anderson and Joann Osborn of Jeffersonville; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Nellie Foster, Linda Larrance and Bernice Bormann.
She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1943; her mother, who died in 1972; her husband of 36 years, Boda K. Carter, who died Aug. 22, 2000; sisters, Maxine Brown and Freda Street; nephews, Richard Street, Joseph Street and James Street and niece, Mildred Kemper.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at the Church of Saint Mary in Alexandria, with the Rev. Fr. Paul W. Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. A prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home led by the Rev. Fr. Philip Haslinger.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria through the funeral home.
