Barbara T. Toth Bielaczyc

Barbara T. Toth Bielaczyc, 76, of Collinsville, Ill., and formerly of Terre Haute, died at 4:20 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. She retired as a speech therapist for Unit 10 Schools in Collinsville, after 15 years of service. She was born April 4, 1928, in Danville, Ill., to Andrew Toth and Elizabeth Sovonya Toth. Survivors include her husband, Michael F. Bielaczyc; one son, David Bielaczyc and his wife, Deborah of Troy, Ill.; one daughter, Janie Holtz and her husband, Adam of Fort Worth; and one aunt, Margaret Pittman of Collinsville. She received her bachelor of arts degree from Indiana State University, was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville and was a volunteer at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Cremation is scheduled. The Herbert A. Kassly Funeral Home in Collinsville assisted with arrangements. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society; or, to the American Cancer Society.

William Merritt Noel

William Merritt Noel, 86, of Paris, Texas, and formerly of Terre Haute, died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, in Paris Regional Medical Center. He was manager of engineering and maintenance for Campbell Soup Co., retiring after 34 years of service. He was born Aug. 19, 1917, in Terre Haute to B.H. Noel and Edna Turner Noel. Survivors include his wife, Helen Tod Larrance Noel, whom he married Dec. 27, 1941, in Terre Haute; two sons, Larrance Merritt Noel of Ramsey, N.J., and Merritt Andrew Noel and his wife, Delise of Coppell, Texas; one sister, Naomi Heaton of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, William Merritt Noel II, Thomas Andrew Noel, Taylor Larrance Noel and Kelly Elizabeth Noel. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II, in the European Theatre, and was discharged in August 1945, with the rank of major. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Founders Lions Club and Paris Golf and Country Club. The Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris assisted with arrangements.

Edith Krackenberger

Edith Krackenberger, 81, of Terre Haute died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Terre Haute to George Siner and Iva Wood Siner. Survivors include one son, Allyn Krackenberger and his wife, Jan of Terre Haute; two grandsons, Joshua Krackenberger of Terre Haute and Eric Krackenberger and his girlfriend, Dana Overpeck; one sister-in-law, Marilyn Siner of Terre Haute; two nephews, Mike Siner of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Mark Siner of Rockford, Ill.; two nieces, Micki Siner of Avon and Marsha Toney and her husband, Gregg of Terre Haute; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Siner; and one sister, Beverly Siner. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Grandview cemetery, with the Rev. David Deal officiating. There is no visitation. The family suggests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breden Memorial United Methodist Church; or, to the charity of donor's choice. The Callahan Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Wayne W. Taylor

Wayne W. Taylor, 88, of Terre Haute died at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in Union Hospital. He was a retired foreman for Mecco Inc., in Paris, Ill. He was born Aug. 18, 1916, in Foosland, Ill., to George W. Taylor and Sarah "Sally" Davis Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Cathryn Ackerman Taylor, whom he married Jan. 27, 1940; one son and his wife, George R. and Martha C. Taylor; one brother and his wife, Roy and Virginia Taylor of Taylorville, Ill.; two sisters, Nellie Marquis of Decatur, Ill., and Helen Hardwick of California; seven grandchildren, Kimberly and Donald McIntyre, Timothy and Donna Taylor, Stacy Taylor, Tracy Taylor, Rene and William Carter Jr., Andrew Boyke and Lori Ann Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren, Shaun Carter, William Carter III, Travis Taylor, Timothy Taylor, Chelsea Taylor, Robert Carter, Maranda Carter, David A. Jones, Christopher S. Walton and Michaela Marie Boyke; two great-great-grandchildren, Travis Marquis Taylor and Kendra Rene Lynn Weir; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services are 1 p.m. Thursday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Mathias officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Thursday.

Carlo Fenoglio

CLINTON - Carlo Fenoglio, 92, of Clinton died at 1:18 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, in Meadows Manor North Retirement & Convalescent Center in Terre Haute. He was owner of Fenoglio's Clothing and Shoe Store in Clinton. He was born March 14, 1912, in Clinton to Peter Fenoglio and Maria Genisio-Fenoglio. His wife, Aurora Costa-Fenoglio, died May 13, 2001. Survivors include one brother, Domenic Fenoglio of Chesterton; one sister-in-law, Carolina "Lena" Costa of Clinton; one niece, Judy Jones of Clinton; one nephew, Gene Fenoglio of Algonquin, Ill.; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. He also was preceded in death by one brother, Andrew "Neno" Fenoglio Dec. 2, 1993. He was a Navy veteran of World War II; a second commander of Clinton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6653; and a 50-year member of Clinton Lion's Club. He and his wife, Aurora were Re and Regina of Clinton's Little Italy Festival in 1977. Prayer services are 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in Karanovich-Giovanini Funeral Home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m., in Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. Joseph Villa officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with Lions Club services at 7 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of their choice.

Charles H. Spangler

ROCKVILLE - Charles H. Spangler, 68, of Rockville died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in Home Hospital in Lafayette. He retired in 1993 from Eli Lilly and Co., Clinton Laboratories, with 38 years of service. He was born Feb. 14, 1936, in Linton to Forrest Alden Spangler and Jewell McKinley Evans Spangler. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Sue Rumpza Spangler, whom he married Oct. 16, 1965, in Lafayette; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd C. and Angel Spangler of Rockville; three daughters, Teresa Jill Spangler, Tracy Jo Bertram and husband Robert, and Tamara Sue Spangler, all of Lafayette; two brothers, Donald Spangler of Bloomington and June Spangler of Rockville; four grandchildren, Olivia Rae Bertram and Savannah Grace Bertram, both of Lafayette, Drake Charles Spangler and Jade Elizabeth Spangler, both of Rockville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Christopher Bertram in 1991. He was a 1955 graduate of Midland High School, where he played trumpet in the band and served as manager for the basketball team. He served 15 years in Lafayette for Eli Lilly and became a member of the start-up crew for the Clinton Laboratory, where he was a supervisor and a senior utility operator. While living in Lafayette he was an avid bowler on five leagues. He was a member of Rockville First Baptist Church and Rockville Elk's Lodge 2471. He served two terms on the Rockville Community School Board and was a member of the former Rockville Optimist Club. He was a scorekeeper for Rockville High School baseball and basketball programs, was a spotter and scorekeeper for Rockville football, and helped establish the Rockville Summer Baseball League, now known as Parke County Youth League. He helped develop and organize the "Potato Shack" to raise funds for the support of PCYL. He was a volunteer for the Rockville Athletic Boosters "BBQ Shack" and also the Elk's Pork Chop and Rockville Music Boosters stands, all located at the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Rockville Christian Church, west on U.S. Highway 36, with the Rev. Dana J. Spurgeon officiating. Burial is in Beacon Hill cemetery, south of Rockville. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Christian Church. Memorials, should friends so desire, may be made to the Rockville First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 130, Rockville, IN 47872. Gooch Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Ruth Marie Heidenreich Shake

POPLAR SPRINGS COMMUNITY, Tenn. - Ruth Marie Heidenreich Shake, 82, of Poplar Springs Community in Overton County, and formerly of Sandborn, Ind., died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in her residence. She was a homemaker. She was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Westphalia, Ind., to Carl Heidenreich and Irene Stolting Heidenreich. Survivors include her husband, Doyle Shake; two sons, Brent Shake of Poplar Springs Community; and Brad Shake and his wife, Robin of Naples, Ind.; three daughters, Beth Phillips and her husband, Fred of Poplar Springs Community, Kay Ball and her husband, T.J. of Linton, Ind., and Belinda Atlogic and her husband, John of Oquawka, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Lisa Howard, Felicia Phillips, Lee Phillips, Adina Smock, Kimberly Nickless, Matthew Hollingsworth, Jim Shake, Justin Phillips and Justin Ball; 12 great-grandchildren, Britney, Johnny, Paige, Ethan, Bethany, Kayla, Aspen, Taylor, Brady, Baily, Bonnie and Cameron; and one sister, Shirley Miller of Edwardsport, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Karen Shake; and two brothers, Elmer "Bud" Heidenreich and Ralph Heidenreich. She was a member of Sandborn United Methodist Church and was affiliated with Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Tennessee. She was a member of Mother's Evening Homemakers' Club in Indiana. Memorial services are 6:30 p.m. Friday in Sandborn United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating. Visitation is 5 p.m. until services Friday, in the church. Alvin Joseph Adams

Alvin Joseph Adams, 74, of Terre Haute died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, in his residence. He had been employed as an electrical maintenance mechanic for 38 years with Tredagar Industries, retiring in 1992. He was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Long Creek, Ill., to Alvin E. Adams and Anna E. Malloy Adams. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Iantha Mason Adams; two sons, David Joseph Adams and spouse, Vicki of Warrenville, Ill., and Rory Neil Adams and companion, Susan Rivers of Keene, N.H.; one daughter, Karen Sue Adams Harden and spouse, Michael of Terre Haute; one brother, Jerry Lee Adams of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Leanne A. and Kira Lynn Adams, both of Warrenville, Dana A. Lindley and Kayla M. Harden, both of Terre Haute; one great-grandson, Nathaniel S. Lindley and his mother, Kari Adams of Terre Haute; two nephews and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard D. Adams and George P. Adams. Graduating from Gerstmeyer High School in 1948, he was classified as an inactive naval reservist until he enlisted in the Air Force. He served with the 13th Bomb Squadron in Korea between 1950 and 1952, as a radio mechanic at Iwakuni, Japan, and K-8 Kunsan, Korea. He earned the Korean Service Medal, three Bronze Stars, Un-service medal and Good Conduct medal. He loved traveling, camping, bowling, hiking, fishing and gardening. His greatest joy in life was his children, grandchildren and great-grandson. He was a member of Krietenstein Post 104 American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War Post 972, was a 37 year member of National Geographic Society, and was a member of the 13th Bomb Squadron Association, where he was an officer and had not missed a reunion since its inception. Memorial services are 7 p.m. Tuesday in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St. Visitation is 5 p.m. until services Tuesday. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 3900 S. Seventh St., Terre Haute, IN 47802.

Henry L. Pithoud

KINGMAN - Henry L. Pithoud, 85, of Kingman died at 4:50 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Veterans Affairs Illiana Healthcare System in Danville, Ill. He was a retired farmer. He was born July 10, 1919, in Kingman to Lemuel Pithoud and Velva Moore Pithoud. His wife of 53 years, Kathleen Dooley Pithoud, whom he married in Rockville on July 29, 1950, died Jan. 21, 2003. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Lemi and Debbie Pithoud of Bloomingdale; three daughters, Anita Myers and husband Duane, Linda Snodgrass and husband Bob, all of Rockville, and Brenda Ollier and husband Ken of Kingman; three sisters, Margaret Anabelle Buser of Stroudsburg, Pa., Portia Hathaway of Kingman and Patricia Lape of Danville, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Elisha Pithoud, in 1999. He was a graduate of Kingman High School and attended Purdue University. He was an Army staff sergeant and a veteran of World War II. He was active in Democratic politics all his life, serving two terms as the Sugar Creek Township trustee in Parke County. He loved to attend his World War II reunions each year. He was well known for raising registered Hereford cattle. He also was a salesman for DeKalb Seed Co. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. Don Perry officiating. Burial is in Kingman Fraternal cemetery. Emanuel 'Vinnie' Foradori

Emanuel "Vinnie" Foradori, 79, of West Terre Haute, died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, in Union Hospital. He retired from the Indiana State Highway Department where he was employed as a quality assurance technician. He was born July 25, 1925, in Terre Haute to John Foradori and Elizabeth O'Connor Foradori. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna. Survivors include one daughter, Renee Ringo and her husband Duane of West Terre Haute; one son, Charles Vincent Foradori of Terre Haute; three sisters, Mary Welsh of Terre Haute, Rose Scott and her husband Bill Sams of Terre Haute and Catherine Steppe and her husband Tom of West Terre Haute; two grandchildren, Amber Mattox and her husband Shawn, and John Foradori; and two great-grandchildren, Darcy Mattox and James Mattox. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Angela Evelo; one brother, Mario Foradori; and a granddaughter, Kendra Bass. He was a cook in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving in Okinawa, Japan, and he was present at Iwo Jima when the flag was raised for Ernie Pyle. He was a member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6574 of West Terre Haute, a member of the Forty and Eight Club of Terre Haute, a member and past chaplain of the Young Men's Club of West Terre Haute and a member of American Legion Post 501 of West Terre Haute. Services are 10 a.m. Monday in St. Leonard's Catholic Church in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Father Bernie Head officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park with graveside military rights conducted by VFW Post 6574. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home, with rosary service at 7 p.m. and again 7 to 9 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of choice.

Cordelia Lockett

Cordelia Lockett, 94, of Terre Haute died at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, in Union Hospital, from natural causes. She was a homemaker. She was born Aug. 10, 1909, in Frankfort, Ky., to Lonnie Johnson and Maggie Edwards Johnson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Davis; and her second husband of seven years, George Lockett, whom she married July 7, 1956, he died in 1963. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Wiley and her husband, Columbus of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Alvin Taliaferro and his companion, Janet Mason, Larry Wiley, Robert Wiley, Deidra Wiley and her companion, Tommy Tompkins, all of Terre Haute; four great-grandchildren, Brandi Tompkins, Brelyn Tompkins, Sophia Tompkins and Rashawn Lawrence, all of Terre Haute; a special niece, Eleanor Jefferson of Indianapolis; special granddaughters, Georgia Mae Tompkins and Dr. Nancy Lawrence, both of Terre Haute; three loving friends, Lillie M. Wiley and Johnetta McKellery of Louisville, Ky., and Sophia G. Tompkins of Terre Haute; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Shauntee and Margaurite Shauntee; and one brother, Charles Johnson. She was a 48 year member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as mother of the church, and also served on the Missionary Society. She was a member of the former Jolly 12 Club and War Mothers' Society. She loved cooking, shopping, traveling, singing and playing the organ. Services are 1 p.m. Monday in the church at 1915 Buckeye St., with the Rev. Kenneth B. Ladd officiating. Burial is in Highland Lawn cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. until services Monday in the church. Dunn Family Mortuary assisted with arrangements.
