Anna M. Kindred, 76, of Terre Haute died at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in her residence. She was retired from the housekeeping department in Meadows Manor East. She was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Terre Haute to William F. Tabor and Bertha Riggs Tabor. Her husband, Roy Kindred, preceded her in death in March 2004. Survivors include three sons, William R. Jones and his wife Vicki, Edward P. Fulk and Charles Edward Fulk Jr. and his companion Mary Dahill; two daughters, Georgeanna Skinner and Mary Kindred; one brother, Gus Tabor; one sister, Lois Hall; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and one son-in-law, Russell Skinner. She also was preceded in death by her parents; several brothers and sisters; and one son, Russell Kindred. She was a member of American Legion Post 346 Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of the 40 & 8, Le Femmes. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in DeBaun Idaho Street Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Barnard officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Gonzella Poston Jr.

Gonzella Poston Jr., 74, of Livonia, Mich., and formerly of Terre Haute died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004. He was employed by Berkwiz Department Store and John's Shoeshine Parlor, as well as Detroit Good Housekeeping Co. and Ford Motor Co. in Detroit. He was born March 21, 1930, in Terre Haute to Gonzella Poston Sr. and Mattie Mae Scott Poston. Survivors include his mother, Mattie Poston; four sons, Gonzella Poston III, Harold William Poston, Derrick Poston and Keith Poston; two daughters, Tanya Poston and Angelia Poston Marshall and her husband Harold; two sisters, Faye Dickerson, and Clister DeBow and her husband Arthur; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Segar Poston. He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School, and an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army. He also was a musician, playing drums with several bands and musicians such as Boone Dunbar, Waymon Brown, Warren Barbour, Hoover Baker, Rudy Ross, Motown Records and the Funk Brothers. Services are 1 p.m. Saturday in Russell Funeral Home. Burial is in Grandview cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. to services Saturday in the funeral home.

Mary A. Price

Mary A. Price, 79, of Terre Haute died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in Meadows Manor North. She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Terre Haute to Guy Raymond Phillips and Rebecca Frazer Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Price. Survivors include two sisters, Betty Lowe and Delores June Doolittle. She also was preceded in death by one son, James Steven Price. Cremation has been scheduled with no services or visitation. Fitzpatrick-Pearce Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Doris E. Robinson

Doris E. Robinson, 87, of Terre Haute died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Royal Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was retired from General Furniture and Bedding in Indianapolis. She was born June 14, 1917, in Clay City to James W. Kiefner and Lena Elizabeth Stewart Kiefner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Robinson. Survivors include one son, James O. McDowell and his wife Helen Roush McDowell of Terre Haute; one stepson, Robert Robinson of Idaho; two sisters, Lucille K. Hale and Helen Crandell, both of Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Irene Latta. She was a graduate of Cory High School and a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She dedicated her life to her son and his care. Services are 2:30 p.m. Saturday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Parr officiating. Burial is in Oak Hill cemetery in Riley. Visitation is noon to services Saturday in the funeral home.

Shannon Renee Scott

Shannon Renee Scott, 25, of Farmersburg, and formerly of Terre Haute died at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in the emergency room of Terre Haute Regional Hospital after 20 months of courageously battling leukemia. She was employed in engineering leadership development for DePuy Orthopaedics, a subsidiary of Johnson and Johnson Co., in Warsaw. She was born Jan. 25, 1979, in Terre Haute to Larry R. Scott and Karen L. Drake Scott. Survivors include her parents of rural Farmersburg; two sisters, Michelle Scott of Indianapolis and Lyndsey Scott of West Lafayette; an aunt, Mary Jane Curry and her husband Don of Olive Branch, Miss., and their children, Kim Curry and Brett Curry; an uncle, John Drake and his wife Annie of Fairbanks and their children, Chris, Jason and Jared Drake; and many friends from Purdue University and her home church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lyndell and Mary Drake and Wilfred and Maxine Brown. She was a 1997 graduate of North Central High School in Farmersburg and received her bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 2002. She was a member of First Prairie Creek Baptist Church and the Society of Women Engineers. While at Purdue, she was the marketing editor of the Purdue engineering magazine. Services are 2 p.m. Sunday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Dyer officiating. Burial is in Prairie Creek West Lawn cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and one hour before services Sunday in the funeral home. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Shannon Scott Scholarship Fund, in care of First National Bank and Trust, Farmersburg, IN 47850 or to the Grouchy Bear Foundation that provides bears to children with cancer, in care of the American Cancer Society.

Ruth S. Wise

Ruth S. Wise, 95, of Terre Haute, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the former owner and manager of Kent Industries, and served as a paralegal for many years with law firms in Terre Haute, Chicago and Los Angeles. In recent years, she had made her home in The Woodlands, Texas, a suburb north of Houston. She was born Dec. 14, 1908, in Clay County to Flavius Josephus Wise and Leona Syester Wise. Survivors include one brother, Robert L. Wise of Indianapolis; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. Joseph University Parish Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph University Parish Catholic Church, with Friar Paul Schloemer officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 10:30 a.m. to services Saturday in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of choice. Roselawn Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.

Jerry D. Ring

SULLIVAN - Jerry D. Ring, 71, of Sullivan died at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was the owner of Globe Cleaners and was a retired policeman, serving with the Sullivan Police Department. He also was the superintendent of Sullivan Lake and Park and was the school bus driver for New Hope. He was born Oct. 2, 1933, in Hymera to Vernal Ring and Faye Gaskill Ring. He is survived by his wife, Melba Butler Ring; four sons, Mike Ring, Mike Frazee and Steve Frazee, all of Sullivan, and Mark Frazee of Parish, Ala.; two daughters, Sherry Fielden of Indianapolis and Teressa Grimes of Sullivan; one brother, Jack Ring of Schererville; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. He was a member of American Legion Post 139, Lodge 263 Free and Accepted Masons, Terre Haute Zorah Shrine, Sullivan County Shrine Club, Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Fraternal Order of Police and the Sullivan County Dusters. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday in Banks & Brust Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Elmore officiating. Burial is in Center Ridge cemetery, with military rites by the Hymera, Shelburn and Sullivan Legion Posts. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Harold E. 'J.R.' Chrisman

Harold E. "J.R." Chrisman, 61, of Terre Haute died at 10:55 p.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital's emergency room. He retired as a firefighter for the city of Terre Haute after 21 years of service, and was currently employed at the Vigo County Court House in the maintenance department. He was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Terre Haute to Edward Chrisman and Carolyn Bonnett Chrisman. Survivors include two sisters, Kay Brown and her husband, Gary and Sharon Grote and her husband, Raymond; three brothers, Larry Chrisman, Robert Chrisman and his wife, Penny and Ralph Chrisman and his wife, Patty; several nieces and nephews; a close friend and companion, Betsy Keith; and a good friend, Eva Fulford. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Shirley Johnson and her husband, Al. He was a member of Eagles Lodge Aerie 291 and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel. Burial is in Highland Lawn cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Heart Association; or, to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available in the funeral home.

Elizabeth Joan Wright Gladden

Elizabeth Joan Wright Gladden, 71, of Terre Haute died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004, in Union Hospital. She was a legal secretary and a court reporter for the Vigo County Superior Court. She was born May 2, 1933, in Terre Haute to Fred Wright and Gertrude Ryle Wright. Survivors include five sons, Mark Gladden and his wife, Teresa of Cincinnati, Keith Gladden and his wife, Evelyn, Barry Gladden, Scott Gladden and his wife, Angie, Paul Gladden and his wife, Jennifer; and one daughter, Valerie Rickard, all of Terre Haute; one brother, Thomas John Wright of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Brian Rickard, Renee Rickard, Barbie Gladden, Summer Gladden, Katie Gladden, Kari Gladden, Maisen Gladden and Bailey Nasser; one great-grandson; two nieces, Sharolyn Herring and Suzanne Hobbs. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Emma Jean Polk; and one grandson, Connor Gladden. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Roselawn Memorial Park Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Joe Dayhuff officiating. Burial is in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Thomas Funeral Home. The family suggests, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McMillan Day Care Center, 486 First Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807.

Madeline Jozsa

Madeline Jozsa, 89, of Brownsburg, and formerly of Terre Haute died Nov. 30, 2004, in Brownsburg Health Care, where she was a resident. She was employed by Quaker Maid and Indiana State University for several years, and also was a homemaker. She was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Diamond to John Verostko Sr. and Mary Soltis Verostko. Her husband, Frank Jozsa Sr., preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Frank Jozsa Jr. of Fort Mill, S.C.; one daughter and her husband, Nancy and Don Altuve of lndianapolis; four sisters, Agnes Davis, Kay Ofsansky and Betty Readinger, all of Terre Haute, and Margaret Genovese of South Pasadena, Calif.; one brother, Gene Verostko of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Jeff Jozsa, Alicia Smith, Adam Altuve and Amanda Quincy; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole Jozsa and Hanna and Nathan Smith. She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Daine Donnenhoffer; two brothers, Paul and John; and five sisters, Mary, Pauline, Judy, Annie and Leona. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Terre Haute. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Russell Zint officiating. Burial is in Calvary cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Brownsburg Family Council, 1010 Hornaday Rd., Brownsburg, IN 46112.

Benita Louise Clagg

BRAZIL - Benita Louise Clagg, 71, of Brazil died at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was a manager for Olan Mills Photography for many years. She was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Wood River, Ill., to Duard Ward and Beulah Cates Ward. Survivors include her husband, Karl Clagg, whom she married on May 19, 1951, in Alton, Ill.; three daughters, Karla Erkkila and her husband Craig of Houston, Karen Britton and her husband Joe of Brazil, and Kimberly Wilkerson and her husband Charles of Farmersburg; one son, Wesley Clagg and his wife Rita of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Jennifer Harvey and husband Greg, Miranda Peacock and husband Dale, Joshua Erkkila, Kassie and Kara Britton, Kallie and Benita Wilkerson, Katie Jo and Kendra Clagg, Jason Britton and wife Sherry, Jessica Britton, and Maria, Jennifer and Jessica Wilkerson; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, June Slaton and husband Con, Rita Gwyn and husband Leo, and Fleta Welch and husband Billy, all of Alton. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kathleen Clagg; and one sister, Laveda Franke. She was a graduate of Worden High School. She was an active member of Carbon Baptist Church and enjoyed creating jewelry, quilting, reading and operating an antique shop. She enjoyed music and sang in a family quartet. She and her husband Karl had served as volunteers for VistaCare Hospice in the Wabash Valley. She was a loving wife and mother who dearly enjoyed her children and family. Services are 11 a.m. Saturday in Moore Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Hughes officiating. Burial is in Calcutta cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to VistaCare Hospice Foundation, 3900 S. Seventh St., Terre Haute, IN 47802.

Karen Kay Hall

CLOVERDALE - Karen Kay Hall, 67, of Cloverdale, and formerly of Paris, Ill., died at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker. She was born July 29, 1937, in Paris to John O. Cummins and Hazel L. Cushman Cummins. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Wendell Hall of Cloverdale, whom she married on June 12, 1955; two daughters, Kelley Leonard and her husband Bill of Cloverdale, and Lori Hall and her husband James of Terre Haute; three sons, Steve Hall and his wife Kelly of Terre Haute, Brent Hall and his wife Darla of Mount Carmel, Ill., and Jeff Hall of Fremont; one sister, Donna Kerns and her husband Ray of Hymera; one brother, John P. Cummins and his wife Sandy of Terre Haute; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Helen Meyer; and one granddaughter, Samantha Jo Hall. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Greencastle. Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, with burial following in Putnamville cemetery. Visitation is noon to services Friday in the church. Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale is in charge of the arrangements.
