James Taylor, 59, of Elwood, died Tuesday.
Funeral services are pending at Dunnichay Funeral Home.

Shirley C. LeMasters
ELKHART – Shirley C. LeMasters, 70, of Elkhart and formerly of Cicero, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at her home.
Born May 3, 1937 in Davies County, she was the daughter of Dessie Myrle Chamness.
On May 4, 1953, she married James E. LeMasters. He preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1991.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Rob LeMasters of Arcadia, Tony LeMasters of Cicero, Brenda Roell of Elkhart and Kathy Wiley of Lakeland, Fla.; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Barbara Good of Clinton.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother; a son, Mark LeMasters; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. The eulogy will be given by Brandon Roell.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Hartley Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 407, Cicero, IN 46034

Merrill W. Brown
ALEXANDRIA – Merrill W. Brown, 75, Alexandria, died Thursday at his home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Jeffrey N. Cornwell
ANDERSON – Jeffrey N. Cornwell, 47, of Anderson, and formerly of Elwood, died May 7, 2008, at Saint John’s Medical Center in Anderson.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and the Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Margie (Schrader) Cornwell; his father, Neal Cornwell; children, Jason Cornwell, Jade Cornwell, Jarrett Cornwell, Chassity Cornwell, and Colton Cornwell; stepchildren, Jeremy, Jenny, James, Holly and Nathaniel Gerber; two sisters, Brenda Blunk and Tracie McCrary; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Cornwell and two children, Jessica Cornwell and Jasmine Cornwell.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the South Chapel.

Boyd A. Summers
WINDFALL – Boyd A. Summers, Windfall, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are pending at Porter Funeral Home in Tipton.

Anderson - Ruth M. (Nickerson) Shepherd, 94, Anderson, died December 31, 2002 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a sudden illness.
She was born September 21, 1908 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. She lived in this area most of her life.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Social Order of Beauceant #108.
She is survived by her Six Children: Lois & husband Mac Killion of Anderson. Doris & husband Charles Bouse of Anderson. George R. & wife Judi Shepherd of Worthington. Gene & wife Connie Shepherd of Marion. Jerry & wife Pat Shepherd of Hanover, Pennsylvania. James & wife Joannie Shepherd of Anderson. Fifteen grandchildren: Steven Killion, Ronald Killion, James Killion, Pamela Perry, Brenda Vannatta, Susan Schell, Terry Franklin, Michael Shepherd, Ruth Mathison, Clifton Shepherd, Nikki Perry, Toye Moore, Mylinda Shepherd, Tracey Shepherd and Jennifer Rackley. Several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Several Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceded by her Husband of 71 years: Ronald B.W. Shepherd on March 12, 2002. Parents: William & Bessie (Malone) Nickerson. Brothers & Sisters: Theodore Nickerson, Charles Nickerson, Malone Nickerson, Joseph Nickerson and Martha Spratt.
Services will be Friday, January 3, 2003 at 1:00 PM, at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home & Crematory, South Chapel; 200 W. 53rd Street; Anderson, with Rev. Daniel S. Westlund officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .
Visitation will be from 4-8:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at funeral home, south chapel.
Contributions may be made to the Social Order of Beauceant #108.

Betty L. Hobbs
Betty L. Hobbs, 81, of Elwood, died June 18, 2008, at St.Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness and she is now in the arms of Jesus with whom she put her trust and salvation.
She was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Tipton.
She formerly worked at Federal Sign Company and Alladin Company where she was in production for many years.
She was a member of the New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church in Elwood and the people of the church were a great help to her. She enjoyed singing.
Survivors include three nephews, Kyle and wife, Trisha Hobbs of Elwood, Keith W. Hobbs of Afagasto, Chile and Ken and wife, Mindy Thompson of Granger; three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hector G. and Leta “Gladys” (Tharp) Hobbs; a brother, William “Bill” Hobbs who died in 1999; and a sister, who died shortly after birth.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2008 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home, with the Rev. Charles Gilbert of New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to New Beginning Fellow-ship Baptist Church through the funeral home.

Pearl Ray Corzine
ALEXANDRIA – Pearl Ray Corzine, 92, of Alexandria, died June 18, 2008, at Alexandria Care Center after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 26, 1915, in Summitville, the daughter of Benjamin H. Webster and Myrtle (McMahan) Webster.
She had resided in the Summitville-Alexandria area all her life.
She was a 1934 graduate of Summitville High School.
She had worked as cafeteria manager at the Marie Thurston Elementary School in Alexandria for 16 years. She had also worked as a clerk in the Gallery II Shop, formerly of Alexandria.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, the TFO Club since 1932, the Alexandria Association of Widowed People and the Alexandria Senior Guild.
Pearl was an avid card player and especially enjoyed playing bridge. She also enjoyed playing any games that challenged her thinking. She was also a lover of books and reading.
Survivors include a daughter, Anita Obler of Wilmington, N.C.; a son, Donald Ray and fiance, Janet Tremblay of Swansboro, N.C.; a grandson, Sean Ray of Monroe, N.C.; a granddaughter, Genevieve and husband, James Hansler of Wilmington, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Arlie Ray who died in 1973; her second husband, Carl Corzine, who died in 1995; and six siblings.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria, with Dr. Joyce Thornton, pastor of the Alexandria First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church through the funeral home.

George Chatterson
ALEXANDRIA – George A. Chatterson, 88, of Alexandria, died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness.
George was born Sept. 30, 1919 in Detroit, Mich. the son of George A. and Ann (Zinterhoffer) Chatter-son Sr.
He married E. Louise Reeves Jan. 25, 1940. She preceded him in death in 2005.
George retired from Skilled Trades at Fisher Body Corporation in Marion. George was proud of the fact he was the third person hired at Fisher Body in 1956. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army.
George was an avid golfer and was considered a fixture at the Yule Golf Course. In his early years he caddied for a living and had aspirations of becoming a professional golfer. George had the rare opportunity to play in a foursome with Babe Ruth and caddied for Ben Hogan as well as other professional golfers.
He was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s, the Alexander Bright Post 87, American Legion in Alexandria, VFW Post 266 in Anderson, Eagles Lodge 1771 of Alexandria, Elks Lodge 478 of Alexandria and the CPC Sympathy Club.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Marge Chatterson of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Dr. Michael A. Chatterson, Mark and wife, Jill Chatterson, Mindy and husband, Jeff Childers, Melissa Chatterson, Steve and wife, Teresa Ely, Sharon and husband, Bob Carrell, and Debra and husband, Brian Rether-ford; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise and a daughter, Mary Ely.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2008, in the Church of St. Mary’s in Alexandria, with Fr. Paul Cochran as celebrant. Cremation will follow.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Whetsel Funeral Service in Alexandria from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. A rosary service will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Building Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
George’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the Ball Memorial Hospice and all of their friends and neighbors for their kindness and support.
