Surviving are his wife, Nina P.; two daughters, Nancy Moore and Linda Helfin, both of Wabash; a sister, Eunice Bahler of Wabash; a brother, Marvin "Mike" of Wabash; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. SUSAN C. HARLESS, 79, died Thursday at Village of Heritage. Born in Topeka, she retired in 1985 from East Allen County Schools as a para professional after 19 years and was also a homemaker. She was former trustee of Monroeville United Methodist Church. Her husband, Dr. O. Fred, died in 1987 and son, William E., in 1973. Surviving are two daughters, Sara L. Harless of Monroeville and Mary Beth Sipe of Woodburn; a son, John F. of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Virginia R. Creighton of Elkhart, Idella M. Kauffman of Winona Lake and Phyllis C. RUSTY BURRELL, 76, a retired sheriff's deputy who later served as bailiff on the reality TV show "The People's Court, " died Monday at his home in Rosemead, Calif. Mr. Burrell, who spent 25 of his 31 years in law enforcement in the court system, was a real-life bailiff during a number of high profile trials, including cult-killer Charles Manson and Patty Hearst, the newspaper heiress kidnapped by radicals who was later accused of joining their crimes. Mr. Burrell often worked with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joseph Wapner, who was chosen to preside over "The People's Court, " dispensing stern lectures with his settlement decisions.

RUTH M. MOORE, 82, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Fort Wayne, died Thursday in Bradenton. Born in Convoy, Ohio, she retired in 1982 from the print shop at Fort Wayne Community Schools. Her husband, Earl D., died in 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Jill Tibbetts of Bradenton; two sons, Dennis E. of Columbia City and Gary A. of Fort Wayne; a sister, Helen Muntzinger of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Born in Mattoon, Ill., he served as a pastor at First Baptist Church in Lanett, Ala., Clarksville Baptist Church in Clarksville, Ill., Winstanley Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Ill., Calvary Baptist Church in Danville, Ill., for 22 years and the First Baptist Church in Bryan from 1968 until 1999, when he retired.
