He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran. Surviving are his wife, Anna L. "Lukie"; a daughter, Marcia "Marcy" K. Hart of Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren. Services at 11 a.m. Monday at Plymouth Congregational Church, 501 W. Berry St., with calling one hour before services. ALBERT CARLSON, 94, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Donaldson, died Friday at Renaissance Village Retirement Center. Born in Bokon, Sweden, he was a longtime Donaldson farmer and was also a carpenter in Chicago and South Bend for many years, retiring as a member of Carpenter's Union Local 413. His wife, Adaline Marie, died in March. Surviving are a son, Max E. Gerber of Los Angeles; two daughters, Sandra M. Dunn of Columbia, Md., and Joyce A. Hite-Moore of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a son, Carl Albert.

CARL HIRAM "HI" GATES, 74, of Vestaburg, Mich., died April 18 at home. Born in Decatur, Ill., he held ministries in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan after graduating from Cincinnati Bible Seminary and was also a camp manager at Rock Lake Christian Assembly for 18 years. Surviving are his wife, Shalmir "Shelly;" three sons, David, Jim and Craig; four daughters, Sandi Skiver, Lori Hick, Joanna Gates and Amy Milliman; a sister, Carole Eloff; two brothers, Jim and Bruce; his stepmother, Juanita "Nita" Gates; two stepsisters, Sandy Barnett and Nancy Juhas; 23 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. WILLIAM A. MACOMBER, 69, died Monday at Parkview Hospital. Born in Indianapolis, he was a U.S. Army engineer at the Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala., and continued civilian employment there for six years after his separation from the service. He was owner, president and CEO of G & L Corp., president of Flint & Walling in Kendallville and had also worked at IBM Corp. He was past director of Lincoln National Bank and Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Surviving are his wife, Elise Deister Macomber; a daughter, Martha Macomber Leader of Clarendon Hills, Ill.; a son, Bradford A.; two brothers, Herbert H. of LaGrange, Ga., and Marshall A. of Indianapolis; a sister, Janet Macomber Raynor of Bryn Mawr, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
