Visitation: Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM Thursday, March 15, 2009 in Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo.
Gerald (Jerry) Walter Simon, 64, of Kokomo, died qt 4:00 AM Tuesday March 10, 2009 at his residence. Born July 13, 1944 in Phoenix, AZ he was the son of the late Robert Simon and the late Barbara (O'Connor). He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving during the Vietname War. He was employed with Haynes International for 14 years, then with Delphi for 25 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member and Past Master of New London Lodge #283, also a member of IBN Saud Grotto, UAW #292, attended Crossroads Community Church, and loved playing golf and fishing in Florida.
Survivors include his fiance' Linda Haskin of Peru; one brother, Curtis (wife-Betty) Simon of Avondale, AZ; two sisters, Becky (husband-John) Santo of Camp Verde, AZ and Penny Pagno of San Diego, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials: Memorials may be directed to Guardian Angel Hospice with envelopes available at the mortuary.

Mildred Katherine Stout
Born: July 23, 1922
Died: March 09, 2009
Services: Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2009 in Ellers Mortuary Webster street chapel, 3400 S, Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Tim Tranbarger will officiate.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the mortuary.
Mildred Katherine Stout, 86, of Kokomo, died at 9:47 PM, Monday, March 9, 2009 in Howard Regional Health System, Kokomo. Born July 2, 1922 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Philip Merrick and Katherine (Wagner). In 1942 she married Robert Elmer Davis and he preceded her in death in 1970. She then married Daniel F. Stout on May 10, 1975 and he preceded her in 2004. She worked for Cuneo Press for 12 years and attended Stars of Light Chapel.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (Marlin) Kingrey and Melinda Jane Stevens, both of Mt View, Arkansas, Jinny Lynn (Fred) Schafer of Kokomo; two sons, Robert Irelin (Marsha Davis) of Bunker Hill, Timothy Jo (Jean) Davis of Galveston; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Merrick of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Kara B. Branch

Kara B. Branch, 26, Kokomo, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at her residence in Peru.
She was born Dec. 10, 1982 in Oakland, Calif., the daughter of Richard Taylor and Laura Francis Burket. On May 6, 2004, she married Jim Branch in Kokomo.
She graduated from the Ivy Tech Community College nursing program with an associates degree. She was an LPN at Golden Living Center - Sycamore Village. Kara was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She loved reading, movies, going to school and spending time with her son Malachi. She had a great sense of humor. She was very compassionate and caring towards others.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Branch, Kokomo; son, Malachi Branch, Kokomo; mother and stepfather, Laura and Brian Burket of Walton; father, Richard Taylor, Peru; father-in-law, Joseph Branch, Kokomo; grandmother, Martha Roquemor, Macon, Ga, and an aunt, Barbara Barfield, Hudson, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Patty Ann Branch.

Bobby C. Davis, 71, Kokomo, passed away at 2:45PM Friday, March 13, 2009 in St. Joseph Hospital. He was born February 17, 1938 in Knoxville, TN to Willard and Elizabeth (McAbee) Davis. On September 14, 1957 in Kokomo he married Carolyn S. (Forrey). She passed away February 17, 2009. Mr. Davis had retired from Cuneo Press after 23 years, and also retired from Wabash National in Lafayette after 15 years of service. She is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Davis, Kokomo, son and daughter in law, Bobby L. and Kari L. Davis, Kokomo, daughter, Elizabeth A. Gregory and friend, Darrell, Michigan, son and daughter in law, Terry and Tammy Davis, Kokomo, grandchildren, Sherise Smith, Josh Davis, Amber Garletts, Kacey Dudek, Jill Davis, Jacob Davis and Jordan Davis, 11 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters in law, Wayne Davis and wife, Etta, Virginia, Jim J.C. Davis, Kokomo, Eddie Davis and wife, Carmelita, Georgia, Dick Davis and wife, Susie, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife, father, 2 brothers and infant twin sisters.

Helen Wanita West

Died: March 13, 2009
Services: Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 16, 2009 in Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel with Pastor Steve Sherwood officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM Sunday at the mortuary.
Helen Wanita West, 87, of Kokomo, died at 6:45 PM Friday, March 13, 2009 in Fairmont Rehabilitation, Kokomo. Born September 3, 1921 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. Hutchins and Silvia Geneva (Wood). On November 17, 1939 in Kokomo she married W. James West, and he survives. She was a 1939 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She enjoyed painting, her church, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband, W. James West of Kokomo; three daughters, Judy (Johnny) Horner of Greentown, Linda Parker and Cindy Badham, both of Kokomo; one brother, Ken (Rosalie) Hutchins of Nyona Lake; one sister, June (George) Schrader of Kokomo; grandchildren Jim (Lori) Horner, Patti Horner, John (Marnie) Horner, Barbara Hopper, Jereme Badham, and Josh Badham; great grandchildren Stephanie Shidler, Mike Horner, John Horner, Sara Horner, Wesley Horner, Holly Hancock, Levi Horner, Lileigh Horner, Amber Meeks, Aaron Bridges, Montana Hopper, and Allison Bridges; one great great grandchild McKenzie Meeks.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, William Parker and Mark Horner; also by one great grandson Dillon Parker.
Memorials: Memorials may be directed to Fairview Baptist Church or to Guardian Angel Hospice with envelopes available at the mortuary.

Betty Lou Hoover

Visitation: 4-8PM Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street. And from 9AM until time of service on Wednesday at the church.
Betty Lou Hoover, 86, Kokomo, passed away at 5:14PM Saturday, March 14, 2009 in Howard Regional Health Systems. She was born June 5, 1922 in Grant County to the late Wayne and Freeda (Maple) Shull. On April 26, 1941 in Kokomo she married John Rex Hoover, and he survives. Betty and her husband, Rex, owned and operated Banner Florist where she was a designer. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, L.N.O. (ladies night out) and former member of the Elks Lodge 190 Auxiliary.She is survived by her husband, John Rex Hoover, Kokomo, sons and daughters in law, Daniel Lee Hoover and wife, Launa, Hemet, California, John Rex Hoover Jr. and wife, Gay, Kokomo, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Lori Malone, Dawson Hoover, Aveley Hoover Amanda Haynes and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Max Shull, and a sister, Barbara Watson.

Carol Lou Stahl
Born: June 03, 1933
Died: March 16, 2009
Services: Services will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Ellers Mortuary Main St. Chapel 725 S. Main, with Rev. Ron Dubbels officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation: Will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at our Main St. Chapel
Carol Lou (Ammerman) Stahl 75, of Kokomo, passed away at 2:00am Monday, March 16, 2009 at her home. She was born June 3, 1933 in Kokomo, IN to Walter and Garnet (Westervelt) Sparks. She was married to Alfred G. Stahl on June 6, 1997 in Kokomo, IN.
She was retired from Cuneo Press after 20 plus years of service with them. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Kokomo. Carol was very loving and devoted to her family and anyone else she would interact with. She was also very active at the Senior Center on dance nights with surviving husband and dance partner Alfred G. Stahl.
Survivors include; two sons, Terry Ammerman of Kokomo, Max Ammerman and his wife Susan of Kokomo, a daughter Sharon Oakes of Bonita Springs, FL, two brothers; Walter Sparks Jr. of Donnelsville, OH, and Robert Sparks of Kokomo, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Carol was also preceded in death by a son Mike Bogue.
Her services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Ellers Mortuary Main St. Chapel 725 S. Main St. The Rev. Ron Dubbels will be officiating, with burial to follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 11:00am until service time at the Mortuary.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's choice in Carol's name.

Richter, Joy LynnJoy Lynn Richter, 68, of Georgetown, KY, formerly of Kokomo, died at 2:34 AM Saturday, March 14, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, KY. She was born December 10, 1940 in Plymouth, IN, the daughter of the late Joseph V. Bolen and Yvonne A. (Donahue). She was a 1958 graduate of Knox High School. She attended Valparaiso University, then receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Quincy College and her Master of Science in Education Degree from IUPUI. On July 28, 1966, in Culver, IN, she married William E. Richter. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2001. She was an English, composition, and literature teacher at Taylor, Eastern, and Western High Schools, and retired from Moore Haven Jr-Sr High School in Moore Haven, FL in 2004. Her memberships include Pi Lambda Theta-National Honor and Professional Association in Education, Delta Epsilon Sigma-National Scholastic Honor Society, National Education Association, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Catholic Women's Service Association, Kiwanis, Glades County Retired Teachers Association, and Indiana Retired Teachers Association. In her career, she participated in the First Indiana Writing Project, received a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Grant, and was named Teacher of the Year in the Glades County, FL School District.Survivors include two sons, William Richter Jr. of Georgetown, KY, Alan (Lisa) Richter of Kokomo; one daughter, Andrea (Tom) Abney of Kokomo; one brother, Lon T. Bolen of Greenwood, IN; six grandchildren, Shane, Karen, Joseph, and Emily Richter, Lauren and Allison Abney,She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. C.R. 200 West, Kokomo. Father David Hasser will celebrate. Burial will follow at Albright Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday in Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, where there will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. The family will also receive friends from 10:00 AM to service time Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Sts. Joan of Arc and Patrick School with envelopes available at the mortuary.

Survivors include her parents, Jaime Salgado and Vanessa Chavez of Kokomo; maternal grandparents Juan Chavez of Frankfort and Bruce and Guadalupe Roland of Kokomo; paternal grandparents Jaime and Teresa Salgado of Monticello; uncles Fernando, Mario, Israel, and Ricardo Chavez; aunt Priscilla Chavez; great aunt and uncle Angelica and Carlos Chavez.
