Evelyn Louise Metz
ANDERSON – Evelyn Louise (Sterling) Metz, of Anderson, died Aug. 29, 2008, at Community Hospital.
She was born April 30, 1924 in Lima, Ohio to Earnest and Ruth Sterling.
She was formerly an executive secretary. Her last employment was with Peyton-Wells Ford Dealership in Anderson.
She married the Rev. Robert Lee Metz June 18, 1942.
She was a former member of the East Side Church of God and more recently attended the Ches-terfield Community Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Larry R. Metz of Fishers; a sister, Mary Younkman of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; who died in 1995; and two sisters, Lillian Carpenter and Dorothy Wattron.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, with Dr. C.D. Oliver officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Conda Gene Anderson
FOREST – Conda Gene Anderson, 73, Forest, died at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.
Born Jan. 4, 1935 in Jennings County, he was the son of Carl E. and Laura V. (Davis) Anderson. On Nov. 3, 1961, he married Patricia Ann Cunningham. She survives.
He was a farmer and millwright worker. He served in the National Guard for eight years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He was a graduate of Prairie Township High School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori Ann Martin of Kokomo and Tammy Sue Hinton of Frankfort; one sister, Carrie Maish of Frankfort, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Carl Raymond Anderson.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. today at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St. in Russiaville. The Rev. Bob Lawson will officiate. Burial was to follow at Bacon Cemetery.
Dorothy M. Ressler
Dorothy M. Ressler, 92, Tipton, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2008 at Tipton Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1916 in Tipton County to Elza and Carrie (Wittman) Duncan.
On Feb. 21, 1944, she married Dallas W. Ressler, He died Sept. 2, 2006.
She was a farmer, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a 1934 graduate of the St. Joseph Academy and later, Indiana Business College. Dorothy worked as an executive secretary in Kokomo and as a cook at Tipton Middle School. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. John's,
She is survived by three children, Barbara Trathen and husband Thomas of Noblesville, Dennis Ressler and wife Regina of Westfield and Gregory Ressler and wife Rebecca of Tipton; and five grandchildren, Tonia Trathen, Kristin Ressler, Kara Ressler, Henry Ressler and Rachael Ressler.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Annamae Enneking and Pauline Meyncke, and one granddaughter, Amy Trathen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill St. in Tipton. The Rev. Leroy Kinnaman will preside. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. and a rosary service to follow.

Clare Morris
ALEXANDRIA – Clare Morris, 91, of Alexandria, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2008, at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 27, 1916, in Summitville, the daughter of Carl and Sarah (Willis) Lliff.
She had resided in the Sum-mitville and Alexandria area all her lifetime.
Clare was a homemaker and had served as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts of America. She had been active in the Monroe Township Republican Party for several years. She was a member of the Union Chapel Community Church in rural Alexandria and the Ladies Aid of the Church. Clare enjoyed crocheting and sharing her crafts with family and friends laike.
Surivvors include four sons, Jerry and wife, Dovie Morris of Alexandria, Tom and wife, Lucille Morris of Huntington, Steve and wife, Karen Morris of Purcell, Okla. and Tony and wife, Alice Morris of Orestes; two daughters, Sherrill and husband, Richard Benson of Greencastle and Brenda and husband, Edmund Hannah of Alexan-dria; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Grace Leer of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husand of 40 years, Eugene Morris who died Feb. 26, 1974; a grandson, Shad Morris; three brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. today at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria. Pastor Michael Thompson of the Union Chapel Community Church in Alexandria, officiated. Burial followed at Vinson Memorial Cemetery
in Summitville.

Harry Julian Douglas
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Harry Julian “Red” Douglas, 78, Bowling Green, Ky., and formerly of Frankton for 58 years, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at his home.
He was born Nov. 11, 1929 in Warren County, Ky.
He married Beulah Marie Jenkins Oct. 16, 1948 in Bowling Green.
He was a memer of the Orestes Baptist Church in Orestes, Ind.
He was a retired truck driver for State Plating in Elwood after 40 years of service.
Red never knew a stranger. He loved to visit. He loved his family, friends and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He especially loved his two little dogs, Tia Maria and Lattie Jo.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Beulah Marie Douglas; two daughters, Robin Annette Hittson and husband, David Hittson Sr. of Bowling Green, Ky.; and Julie Marie Hudson and husband, Bill Hudson Jr. of Frankton; two sons, Jeffrey Allen Douglas and wife, Shelli of Kimmell; and Joseph Edwin Douglas of Anderson; two sisters, Daphney Phillips of Monteray, Tenn. and Ruby Riddle of Shelbyville; 14 grandchildren, Bradley and John Douglas, Christopher Douglas, Amy Dean, Joshua and Kylie Hudson, D.J. and Megan Hittson, Angela Pedigo, Cody Bambrough, Jacob and Matthew Boots, and Ashley and Kaiven Hinton; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; cousins and a host of friends and special neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Green and Nora Belle Jeffries Douglas; two sons, John Eugene and Roger Dale Douglas; four brothers, Earl, Paul, Howard and Kimley; and five sisters, Mildred, Earline, Lillian, Frances and Dorothy.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008 at the J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. Burial will be in Green River Union Cemetery
in Warren County, Ky.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel.
Dorothy L. Haskett
TIPTON – Dorothy Louise (White) Haskett, 98, Tipton, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Tipton.
She was born June 30, 1910 in Logansport to William A. and Katie E. (Storer) White.
She married Fred F. Haskett Oct. 20, 1940. He died July 27, 2003.
She was a homemaker and teacher, retiring from teaching in 1974. She had also worked as a substitute teacher in the Wayne Township Schools in Marion County.
A 1928 graduate of Logansport High School, she graduated from Ball State in 1933.
Dorothy was a member of the Speedway United Methodist Church and the Indiana Retired Teacher’s Association.
Dorothy is survived by two children, Patricia Durham and husband, Alan of Tipton and Robert W. Haskett and wife, Laurie of Tucson, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Debra Kellogg and husband, Robert of Kansas City, Kan. and Deanna Humphries and husband, Brian of Genesco, Ill.; four great-grandchlldren, Carly Humphries, Cooper Humphries, Cade Humphries and Alexis Kellogg.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna (White) Stewart and Bertha (White) Burk.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darren Cushman-Wood officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mary Edna Merrell
KEMPTON – Mary Edna Merrell, 69, Kempton, died at 6:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2008 at her home.
Born Dec. 31, 1938 in Tipton, she was the daughter of Lester and Fada (Wilkerson) Dragoo. On Dec. 29, 1956, she married Harold L. Merrell in Tipton. He survives.
She retired from Sallie Mae in Fishers after 16 years of service.
She is survived by five children, Darlene Shuck of Anderson, Jeff Merrell of Dade City, Fla., Lisa Morrisette of Windfall, Nedra Thomas of Goldsmith and Colleen McWhirt of Frankfort; three sisters, Lola Dragoo of Tipton, Louise Dragoo of Tipton and Emma Zeck of Colfax; one brother, Ernest Dragoo of North Webster, 14 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Lester Jr. and George Dragoo, and a sister, Also Rosetta.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leatherman-Morris-Boyer Funeral Home in Tipton. The Rev. Richard Covert will officiate. Burial will be in Kempton Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Wanda P. Wheatley
BOCA RATON, Fla. – Wanda Wheatley, 90, Boca Raton, Fla., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at her home.
Born June 14, 1918 in Windfall, she was the daughter of Anna B. (Kleyla) Osborn and John H. Osborn. On May 2, 1941, she married William Wilson Wheatley,. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1987.
She was baptized a Christian on June 12, 1962, at the West Street Church in Tipton.
She is survived by her son, Jay Wheatley of Boca Raton; her daughter, Cheryl Charney of New Port Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Nicole Charney and Bryan Charney of Newport Beach, Calif.
She was a successful professional artist for many years, and then assisted her husband in the operation of his Indiana law practice.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m., Sept. 20, 2008 at West Street Christian Church in Tipton. The Rev. Janice Burns-Watson will officiate.
