Barbara L. Webster
ALEXANDRIA – Barbara L. Webster, 76, Alexandria, died Wednesday, Nov., 5, 2008 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton.
She was born Aug. 9, 1932 in Alexandria, the daughter of Virgil L. and Edna (Pierce) Wright.
She was a 1950 graduate of Alexandria High School.
She retired from Guide Lamp, formerly of Anderson, in 1988 after 25 years of employment.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Alexandria.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Alan Webster of Union Lake, Mich. and Jeffrey Lee Webster of Pendleton; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Robert L. Webster, who died in 1999; a brother, William Wright; and a sister, Clara High.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, with Pastor Lyn Childers officiating.
Friends may call from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Monday at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society through the funeral home.

Donna High
Donna High, 45, of Elwood, died Thursday at her home.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Dunnichay Funeral Home.

Virgil L. Elsworth
SUMMITVILLE – Virgil L. Elsworth, 80, Summitville, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
He was born Aug. 30, 1928, in Alexandria, the son of Ferrel E. and Opal (Eaton) Elsworth.
He attended Summitville schools. He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1950.
He worked for Kraft Foods, formerly of Summitville. He retired from Anaconda Wire and Cable of Marion in 1990 after 32 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha (Butcher) Elsworth, whom he married June 23, 1951; two sons, Gerald Elsworth and Kim Elsworth, both of Summitville; a daughter, Linda York of Elwood; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Denzil Elsworth of Summitville and Walker Elsworth of Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Terry Elsworth; and two brothers, Norman Elsworth and Milford Elsworth.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2008 at Owens-Noffze Funeral Home in Summitville, with Pastor Gary McCaslin officiating. Burial will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville with military honors provided by the Elwood VFW Post 5782 Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Summitville-Van-Buren Township Emergency Ambulance Fund through the funeral home.

Rev. Wanda S. Gross
ALEXANDRIA – The Rev. Wanda S. (Payton) Gross, 67, of Alexandria, died Dec. 4, 2008 at Community Hospital in Anderson after a brief illness. Upon her completion of living this lifetime, she has willingly released her earthly body so that she may return to her Father’s side in heaven.
She was born March 23, 1941 in Alpine, Ark., the daughter of Marion and Lena (York) Patton.
She resided in the Alexandria area most of her lifetime.
Wanda was a 1959 graduate of Alexandria High School. She also graduated from the Indiana Busi-ness College in Fort Wayne. She attained degrees as a Doctor of Naturopathy, a Certified Iridologist, Master Herbalist and Certified Nutritional Consultant. She was a member of the National Health Federation, National Center for Homeopathy, Certified Natural Health Professionals, American Association of Nutrition Consul-tants and Coalition for Natural Nealth. She was also a member of the Alexandria Eagles Auxiliary 1771. Wanda had been a self-employed businesswoman in the Alexandria community for several years, owning and operating the Belle Aire Beauty Shop, Gallery II Gifts and Flowers, the Health Habit and the Healing Arts Center.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela J. and husband, Dennis Alexander of Alexandria and Robyn Anne and husband, Troy Cunningham of Alexandria; three granddaughters, Delana Megan Alexander, Miquela Beth Alexan-der and Mila Anne Alexander, all of Alexandria; two brothers, Junior and wife, Barbara Payton of Alexandria and Michael Payton of Middleburg, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was precceded in death by her parents; her husand, K. Gene Gross, who died in 2007; a brother, Jerry Payton, 2003; grandson, Keaton Reeves Alexander, 1999; and her mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Martha (Jarman) Gross.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria, with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.

Father Victor P. Schott
MUNCIE – Father Victor P. Schott, 85, Muncie, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Golden Living Center in Muncie following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 7, 1923 in Alexandria the son of George and Helen (Feller) Schott. He had resided in the Alexandria and central Indiana area all of his lifetime.
Father Schott was a graduate of Alexandria High School Class of 1943. He served with the United States Army during World War II.
He graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio and was ordained on May 26, 1956.
He had served as associate pastor at St. Thomas Aquinas-West Lafayette, St. Lawrence-Muncie, St. Ambrose-Anderson and St. Joseph-Logansport. He served as pastor at St. Mary at Dunkirk and Sts. Peter & Paul at Goodland. He was a chaplain at the Indiana Reformatory in Pendleton, St. Elizabeth Medical Center at Lafayette and Monastery of the Poor Clares at Kokomo. He retired in 2003.
He is survived by two sisters, Florence Crist of Alexandria, and Agnes Bowen of Hartford City; one brother, Harold “Larry” Schott of Alexandria; friend and caregiver for 36 years, Joyce Doyle of Muncie, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Schott, Elmer Schott, and Raphael “Ray” Schott; four sisters, Sister Mary Benice Schott, Dorothy Welborn, Loretta Greenlee and Helen Janowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria, 820 West Madison Street, with Bishop William L. Higi as Celebrant; Principal Concelebrants: Rev. Paul Cochran, Rev. Dennis Duvelius, Rev. Dennis Goth, Rev. Michael Magiera, Rev. James Keane, and Rev. Joseph Grace.
Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Alexandria. The Elwood VFW #5782 will perform military honors at the graveside.
Friends may call at the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A Rite of Welcome will begin the reception hours at 3 p.m., a Rosary Service will take place at 6 p.m., and a Vigil Service will take place at 7 p.m. to close the visitation reception hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of the Church of Saint Mary at Alexandria.
Arrangements have been en-trusted to the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.

Gayle Rice
Gayle Rice, 57, Tipton, died today at her residence. Funeral arrangements are pending at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and will be updated when they are available.

Juanita Parker
ALEXANDRIA – Juanita Parker, 82, Alexandria, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at Community Hospital Anderson, following an extended illness.
She was born July 4, 1926 in Albany, Ky., the daughter of Hobart Beaty.
She worked at Johns-Manville Corporation.
Survivors include one daughter, Lori Parker of Alexandria; one son, Larry Parker of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; two sisters, Oleta Veach of Anderson and Rachel Rector of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Freeman Parker in 1989; one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services wil take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria. Pastor Harrison Williams will officiate.
Private interment services will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the services Thursday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of the Alexandria Care Center or the Building Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, through the funeral home.

Anita L. King
SUMMITVILLE – Anita L. King, 52, Summitville, died Monday Dec. 15, 2008 at Community Hospital Anderson.
She was born April 27, 1956 in Anderson, the daughter of Roland W. Vetor and Winifred (Bogue) Vetor Patterson.
She was a graduate of Madison-Grant High School Class of 1974.
She had worked at Meijer in Muncie.
Survivors include one daughter, Sabrina King of Noblesville; one son, Adrian King of Summitville; her mother, Winnie Patterson of Summitville; two brothers, Jeff Vetor of Fairmount, and Michael Vetor of Daleville; one granddaughter; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by by father, Roland Vetor, and a brother, Jim Vetor.
Friends may call at the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home, 1009 West Walnut Street, Summitville from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Cremation will follow the visitation with private disposition of the cremains at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Owens-Noffze Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.

John J. Fihe
John J. Fihe, 75, formerly of Elwood, died Thursday at St.Vin-cent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Dunnichay Funeral Home.
