Elva Baugh
Elva Lorene (Winkler) Baugh, 94, of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Evansville Protestant Home.
She was a public school teacher, first in Spencer County, Ind., and later in the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp., at North High School, where she taught home economics. She retired in 1965.
During World War II, she was an active Red Cross volunteer.
She was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, where she and her late husband founded the IHS Class and a young people's group.
Surviving are a daughter, JoAnne Miley of Evansville; a son, Jerry P. Baugh of Evansville; five grandchildren, Carolyn, Matthew and David Baugh, Martha Thornbury and Elizabeth Wyatt; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Emmanuel H. Baugh, in 1988.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel, the Rev. Dave Mills officiating, with burial in Dale cemetery in Dale, Ind.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurses Association Hospice or her church.
Evelyn Donaldson
Evelyn Donaldson, 82, of Zeigler, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Franklin Hospital in Benton, Ill.
She was a Jehovah's Witness missionary for 50 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Naomi Fisher of Evansville and Carole Redman of Wadesville, Ind.; a son, Robert Tatsis of Live Oak, Fla.; a sister, Maxine Hill of Little Valley, N.Y.; and two grandchildren, Brandi and Shauna Fisher.
Services were Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Benton, Ill. The body was cremated.
Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel handled of arrangements.
Barbara Samples
Barbara (Rabourdin) Samples, 63, formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at her home in St. Louis of heart failure.
She graduated from Purdue University.
She was the former owner of Horizons Unlimited and an agent with Frontenac Travel for 10 years.
She was a world traveler and was involved in the organization to promote research for chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.
Surviving are her husband, Donald Samples; a son, Christopher Samples; and her mother, Erna Rabourdin, all of St. Louis.
Services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Bopp Funeral Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo., with a reception following at Schneithorst's Inn.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association for COPD research or the American Cancer Society.
Robert Terrell
Robert 'Buck' Manus Terrell, 66, of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at his home of lung cancer.
He owned and operated Terrell's Jewelry in Tell City, Ind., was an electronics teacher at ITT and Ivy Tech, was a radar technician specialist at Ron Collins Aviation, was a computer consultant at Nytech Systems, owned and operated Tellstar International and retired as a technical sergeant in the Air Force after 20 years in 1975.
He enjoyed computers, fishing and Star Trek.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Diana (Atwood) Terrell; four daughters, Sherry Green of Chiloquin, Ore., Kimberly Harmon of Aurora, Colo., Misty Davis of Evansville and Michelle Dockins of Dallas; a foster daughter, Phyllis Riley of Evansville; three sons, Robert C. Terrell II of Klamouth Falls, Ore., Dennis Dale Heise of Colorado and Terry Dean Heise of Evansville; two sisters, Rosetta 'Sissie' Duke and Judy Taffel Graves, both of Evansville; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Alexander Funeral Home West Chapel, the Rev. Robert Goodman officiating, with burial in Locust Hill cemetery, with military rites.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and American Lung Association.
Yvonne Askew
Yvonne L. Askew, 90, formerly of Evansville, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at the Henry Mayo Clinic in Fort Wayne, Ind.
She retired from Indiana Bell.
She enjoyed golf, bridge and traveling.
Surviving are a daughter, Brenda Askew of Fort Wayne; a son, Jeff Askew of Castaic, Calif.; three grandchildren, Lonnie Lindauer, Matt Jones and Melissa Morr; and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Paul Kuehn
ELBERFELD - Paul W. Kuehn, 66, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at St. Mary's Riverside of cancer.
He was an Army veteran.
He was a member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton.
Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Charlotte (Miller) Kuehn; three daughters, Debra Vandergriend of Oakland City and Donna and Diana Kuehn, both of Elberfeld; and a grandson, Jason Brooks.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch, with burial in Northview cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Katie Houchin
MOUNT VERNON - Katie M. (Cooper) Houchin, 93, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Deaconess Hospital.
She was a quilter.
Surviving are two sons, Wallace 'Jay' Houchin of Mount Vernon and Donald R. Houchin of New Harmony; a sister, Cora McDill of Hopkinsville, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Houchin, in 1996; and a son, Berman R. Houchin, this year.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Schneider Funeral Home Tygart Chapel, with burial in Black cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred Burke
MONROE CITY - Mildred M. (Belcher) Burke, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Petersburg Health Care in Petersburg.
She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as a radiology technician and was coordinator of the School of X-Ray.
She was a member of Indiana Presbyterian Church in Vincennes.
Surviving are a son, Brad Burke of Wheatland; two sisters, Minnie Mae Harrison of Monroe City and Mary Lou Jones of Vincennes; four grandchildren, Marcie Mayall, Kallie Burke, Beth Wagner and Jade Schuckman; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald D. Burke, last year, and a daughter, Penny Schuckman.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with burial in Walnut Grove cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Helen Uebelhack
MOUNT VERNON - Helen (Carson) Uebelhack, 83, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at Mount Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She and her her late husband were the founders of Uebelhack Turkey Farm in 1940.
She was elected to the Posey County Council and was a delegate to the Indiana Republican Conference and the National Republican Convention in 1984.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the National Republican Women's Association and the Deaconess Pink Ladies.
She enjoyed traveling and volunteer work.
Surviving are three sons, Jon Uebelhack of Foster City, Calif., and Dr. David and Dennis Uebelhack, both of Mount Vernon; a sister, Anna Mae Fehrenbacher of St. Louis; and a brother, Alvin Carson of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Kate Womack, Kevin, Jennifer and Jessica Uebelhack and Kristin Adams; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Oscar F. Uebelhack, in 1999.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel United Church of Christ, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Schneider Funeral Home Norvell Chapel, and from 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
