Kimberly Ann Adair

Kimberly Ann (Lange) Adair, 33, 559 W. 700 North, Kokomo, died at 6:18 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2004, at St. Rd. 213 and Division Road in Tipton County as the result of an auto accident. She was born April 25, 1971, in Indianapolis to William A. "Bill" & Beth (Castor) Lange. On June 25, 1995, she married Joseph E. Adair, Jr., and he survives.

Kim was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife and mother. She worked for the State of Indiana as a disability adjudicator and was a 1989 graduate of Tri-Central High School and graduated from Indiana University - Kokomo in 1996. She was a member of the Kokomo Roadrunners and Windfall Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her husband Joe; her parents of Windfall; one son, Leighton Adair; 3 step-daughters, Cami, Andrea and Chelsea Adair; one sister, Julie Unger, Windfall; one brother, Matt Lange, Logansport; her grandmother, Esther Castor, Tipton; one niece and four nephews.

Her funeral will be Tuesday, October 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the Hazel Dell Church, 4017 E. 300 N., Windfall, with Rev. J.W. Harden presiding. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall. Visitation will be Monday, October 25, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home and from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kimberly Adair Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home for her children's education.

William R. Albright

William R. Albright, 84, 1214 N. Main Street, Tipton, died at 1:00 A.M. Friday morning, April 9, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born June 18, 1919, in Tipton to Willard M. & Clara (Arnold) Albright. On February 16, 1968, he married Becky Evans and she survives.

He was a brick mason and a member of the Bricklayer's Union. He attended Nevada Church of God and belonged to the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include his wife Becky; four daughters, Carol Cain, Indianapolis, Tracy Boyles, Kirklin, Debbie Harrison, Arcadia, and Delora Netherton, Tipton; two sons, Robin Boes, Kokomo, and Randy Boes, Elwood; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Albright and Terry Boes; three brothers, Joe Albright, Lee Albright, Frank Albright; three sisters, Josephine Titus, Ruth Jack and Blanch Lewin; and 2 grandchildren.

His funeral will be Monday, April 12, at 11:00 A.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Woodrow Johnson and Pastor Paul Enochs presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.

Michael Paul Badgley

Michael Paul Badgley, infant son of Douglas & Karen (Tate) Badgley of Kempton, was stillborn at 8:12 a.m. Sunday, November 21, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

He is survived by his maternal grandparents, Jerry & Sandy Tate, Kokomo; paternal grandparents, Michael & Judith Badgley, Tipton; great grandparents Bob & Dorothy Tate, Kokomo, Wilma Crouch, Leisure, and Mary Reese, Kempton; great aunt Carol Reese, Tipton; uncles Randy Tate, Tipton, Dan Tate, Marion, and Joe Tate, Kokomo; 6 cousins.

Michael’s funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, at the Kempton Cemetery with Rev. Richard Covert presiding and burial to follow. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Judith Ann Baird

Judy A. Baird, 70, of rural Tipton County died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. Vincent Inpatient Hospice Care Center in Indianapolis. She was born in Kokomo on August 16, 1940, the daughter of Glen and Georgia (Hoover) Ryan. Judy married George Warren Baird on April 11, 1959, and he survives.

Judy was a seamstress all her adult life. She began work in 1978 as a Tipton Middle School and Washington Elementary School Food Service Employee retiring in 1994. She began working in 1994 as the Tipton County Soil and Water District office administrator and retired in 2007.

She was an active member of Cicero Christian Church, Joyorama, Soup and Salad Soupmaker, Plum Grove Extension Homemakers, Past Tipton County Extension Homemakers President, Secretary of the Tree City Advisory Committee, Associate Supervisor of the Tipton County Soil and Water Conservation District, and Indiana Association of Soil and Water District. She was a Lifetime member of Indiana Forestry and Woodland Owners Association, Northern Nut Growers, Lifetime member and Secretary Walnut Council (Indiana Chapter). She designed and created several Indiana Quilt blocks for Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation District including designing the entire National quilt in 2008. Judy also served on the Tipton County Indiana Farm Bureau Board of Directors as Secretary.

Judy is survived by her husband, Warren, children Carol Jo (Steve) Christenberry of Atlanta, IN; Gregory Warren (Amy) Baird of Kokomo; and Brent Ryan Baird of Avondale, AZ; grandchildren Stephanie Lynn (Jason) Villars, Laura Beth Christenberry, Kyle Gregory Baird, and Emily Janel Christenberry; step grandchildren Greta, Nate and Owen Fishback and great granddaughters Madilyn Faith Villars and Lia Grace Villars. Also surviving is her mother, Georgia Ryan and brother Garry (Mickey) Ryan and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Glen Ryan, brother Jerry Lee Ryan and nephew Richard Ryan.

She enjoyed traveling with Warren, sewing for all of her family and playing the piano. She will be remembered always for her kind Christian heart, warm wit, and contagious smile.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday August 23, at the Cicero Christian Church with Revs. Tim Lueking and Kevin Carr presiding and burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Hamilton County. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22 at the church and also Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Cicero Christian Church, 1715 Stringtown Pike Cicero, IN 46034.

Boyd Eugene Barnes

Boyd Eugene Barnes, 56, Cornersville, Tennessee, and formerly of Tipton, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia, Tennessee. He was born June 4, 1947, in Tipton County, Indiana, to Edwin Charles & Irene (Stout) Barnes.

Boyd worked as a stained glass cutter and was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietname War.

Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Lynn Alderman, Lewisburg, Tennessee; one son, Montel Wayne Barnes and wife Michelle, Delina, Tennessee; one brother, Edgar Charles Barnes, Indianapolis; and two grandchildren.

Boyd's funeral will be Monday, May 31, at 2:00 P.M. at Fairview Cemetery, Tipton, with burial to follow. Visitation will be Monday, May 31, from 12:00 Noon - 1:45 P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson Street, Tipton.

Lucille Barr

Lucille Barr, 79, 307 Sheffield Court, Tipton, died Saturday, January 3, 2004, at 1:15 A.M. in St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was born January 16, 1924, in Scott County, Indiana, to Clarence Neff & Flora (Lowry) Neff Hinkle. On June 12, 1943, she married Eugene Barr. He died August 17, 2002.

Lucille was a homemaker and a member of the West Street Christian Church in Tipton, a graduate of Indiana Business College in Kokomo, and a graduate of Prairie High School.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Karen & Dwane Dunham, Tipton and Patricia & Gerald Bender, Fort Collins, Colorado; one sister, Margie Bozell, Tipton; one grandson and his wife, Ian & Carri Dunham, Carmel. One brother, Harry Jack Neff, is deceased.

Thank you to special friends that helped, especially Tracey Altherr, Kathy Heaston and Nikki Mahaney of Tipton and Judy Stalhiem in Florida.

Lucille's funeral will be Thursday, January 8, at 10:00 A.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson Street, Tipton, with the Rev. Philip Curran presiding. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for Lymphoma, P.O. Box 82, Tipton, Indiana 46072.

Wilbur S. Basey

Wilbur S. Basey, 96, 2042 S. 725 W., Tipton, died at 6:30 A.M. on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at his residence. He had previously lived in Indianapolis, Edinburg and Brown County, Indiana. He was born in Seymour, Indiana, on July 30, 1907, to Simpson Dean & Estella Mae (Eshelman) Basey. On March 16, 1929, he married Irene Louise Horsley and she died March 27, 2000. Wilbur worked as a mechanic, retiring in 1970.

Wilbur is survived by two daughters, JoAnne Libertore, Tipton, and Audrey Dummich, Edinburg; 4 grandchildren, Cheryle Goen, Preston Case, Jennifer Adams, and Jonathon Debaun; 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Four brothers, Glenn, Lester, Ralph and Fred, and 3 sisters, Azza Long, Florence Dodd and Thelma Hill, preceded him in death.

There will be no visitation as cremation was the chosen form of disposition.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Louis "David" Bolds

Louis "David" Bolds, 79, 901 Market Road, Tipton, died at 1:45 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2005, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1926, in Morganfield, Kentucky, to William S. & Jessie (Moore) Bolds. On April 29, 1949, he married Joan "Jody" Lyke and she survives.

He worked in the lab at Chrysler in Kokomo, retiring in 1980. He was a life member of the Tipton Elks, belonged to UAW 685, and was a member of West Street Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne during WWII and also served in the Korean conflict.

Survivors besides his wife Jody include one son, David Joe Bolds, Tipton; two sisters, Norma Jean Lowry, Virginia, and Monnie Mae Turley, Kentucky; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Othello Grant and Rev. Bill Berkley presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary Ann Boughton

Mary Ann Boughton, 57, 662 N. 700 W., Tipton, died Wednesday, September 8, 2004 in an auto accident. She was born August 5, 1947, in Logansport to John G. & Nellie Mae "Jackie" (Clemmer) Corso and lived there until 1971 when she moved to Kokomo. She lived in Kokomo until 1975 when she moved to Tipton. On April 1, 1967, she married Larry R. Boughton and he survives.

She was the owner and operator of Mary Ann's Ceramics for 28 years. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Tipton and a part of the Gatekeepers prayer ministry at the church. Mary Ann also worked in the nursery at the church and enjoyed watching the children.

Besides her husband Larry she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-laws, Alan & Melissa Boughton, Tipton, and Bruce & Carolina Boughton, Conway, Arkansas; one brother, Leonard M. Corso, Valparaiso, Indiana; and three grandchildren, Shelbi, Quentin and Mateo Boughton.

Her funeral will be Saturday, September 11, at 10:00 A.M. at the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 3021 W. St. Rd. 28, Tipton, with Rev. Doug Slack presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Logansport.

Visitation will be Friday, September 10, from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the church, and also on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 A.M. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 3021 W. St. Rd. 28, Tipton, Indiana, 46072, for its building fund.

Thelma Marie (McCubbins) Burns

Thelma Marie (McCubbins) Burns, 96, 126 4th Street, Tipton, died at 3:15 P.M. Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at her residence. She was born December 16, 1907, in Hamilton County, Indiana, to Ernest & Donna Ethel (Needam) McCubbins. She married Glen Burns in 1923 and he died in 1983.

She had worked at Oakes Manufacturing and FMC, both in Tipton.

Thelma is survived by three daughters, Marjorie Pearson, Jasonville, Indiana, Nancy Hancock and husband Robert, Anderson, and Shirley Canaday, Anderson; one son, David Burns and wife Wilma, Atlanta, Indiana; three sisters, Nettie Langley, Tipton, Lena Rice, Tipton, and Phyllis J. Sharp, Elwood; one brother, Leroy Owens, Tipton; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Maxine Fritch; one son, Junior Burns; four sisters, Betty Senn, Margaret Holmes, Mary Miller and Wilma Jean Owens; two brothers, Phil Miller and Raymond McCubbins; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Her funeral will be Saturday, July 31, at 2:00 P.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hunt. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.

Alberta Burton

Alberta Burton, 91, 236 Kentucky Avenue, Tipton, died at 6:05 A.M. on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at Autumnwood Extended Care. She was born June 15, 1913, in Atlanta, Indiana, to Walter & Esther (Sumner) Cox. On November 3, 1934, she married Edwin E. "Jake " Burton and he died July 24, 1989.

She was a member of West Street Christian Church, Tipton, Tipton Lady Elks, Tipton Lady Moose, and the Monday Night Club. Alberta also belonged to the Tuesday & Thursday Card Club and TOPS Club.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Gene Burton, Tipton and Edwin J. & wife Judy Burton, Tipton; one daughter, Linda Sue & husband Jim Kinder, Noblesville; 8 grandchildren, Kathy Quear, Debbie Book, J. Scott Burton, Greg Burton, Kory Burton, Jeff Kinder, Julie Kweder, and John Kinder; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, George Robert Cox, Frankfort, Indiana.

Alberta was preceded in death by one grandson, Douglas Burton, 3 sisters, Helen Riley, Rosella Dellinger and Maxine Small Teter and one brother, Walter Cox, Jr.

Her funeral will be Wednesday, July 21, at 10:00 A.M. at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson Street, Tipton, with Rev. Richard Hamm presiding. Burial will be in East Union Cemetery in Hamilton County. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
