Thelma Fletcher-Cook
Thelma E. Fletcher-Cook, 65, stepmother of Cheryl and Charles Cook and Julie Worthington, all of Evansville, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Hospitality House in Bloomington, Ind. of complications of multiple sclerosis.
She had worked for Wetterau Foods and was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are a brother, Fred W. “Bill” Fletcher of Bloomington; eight stepgrandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill H.
Arrangements were handled by Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington, with burial in Green Hill cemetery in Bedford, Ind.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Alberta Linn
Alberta E. (Funke) Linn, 92, formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, in San Francisco.
She was a 52-year member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in San Francisco, former president of the Ulloa Seniors Club and had maintained her membership in the St. Ann’s Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John in Evansville, since 1924.
Surviving are two daughters, Sarah Dunn, Mary Kerrigan and Suzanne Leacy; a son, George Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Beth Kwasny, F. Christopher, Tim, and John Dunn, Amy and Stephen Leacy, Kellie Linn and Suzanne, Margaret, Daniel and Rachael Kerrigan; and three great-grand children.
Her husband, George F. Sr., died in 1968.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in San Francisco, with burial in Holy Cross cemetery in Colma, Calif.
Duggan-Serra Mortuary in Westlake, Calif., is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor in Evansville.
Esther Little
TELL CITY — Esther M. Little, 88, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.
She retired in 1974 after 12 years with the News Publishing Co. in Tell City, worked at Pure Cream Products from 1931 to 1942 and at Knott Manufacturing Co. from 1957 to 1962.
She was a graduate of Tell City High School and Lockyear Business College.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and had been active in the Home Demonstration Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Marianne Saalman of Tell City and Carol Cummings of Lewisport, Ky.; two sisters, Mabel Dersch of Tell City and Erma Racine of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Dwaine and Beth Saalman and Kelli, Todd and Sean Cummings; and a great-grandson.
Her husband, Albert “Ted”, died in 1993.
Services will be at 11 a.m. EST Friday at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
Owen Hopkins
FRANCISCO — Owen W. Hopkins, 93, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
He owned Hopkins Farm & Implement Co.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of American Legion Post 25 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1147.
Surviving are four sisters, Ethel Keneipp and Evangline Skelton, both of Oakland City, Geneva Mae Booker and Mary Jane Black, both of Princeton; a brother, James “Chig” of Francisco; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Forsythe cemetery in Oakland City, with military rites.
Jack Clark Sr.
BOONVILLE — Jack A. Clark Sr., 77, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at his home of a heart attack. He retired in 1982 from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp.
He was associated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Boonville.
Surviving are two daughters, Diana L. Plimpton and Rebecca R. Hajighafouri; four sons, Jack A. Jr., David L., Richard E. and Robert; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. His wife, Bernadine, died in 1998.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Prentice Ray Leslie officiating. The body will be cremated.
There will be no visitation at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Michael Keller
JASPER — Michael Keller, 50, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, in Owensboro Mercy Health Care System of cancer. He worked at the Knights of Columbus Home in Jasper and was an active member of the Jasper Jaycee’s.
Surviving are a daughter, Michelle Wiseman of Haysville; a son, Stephen of Jasper; his mother and stepfather, Lorena and Roy Bolling of Dubois; three sisters, Patricia Keller of Jasper, Diana Arnold of Chrisney and Rita Keller of Dubois; a brother, Arthur of Eagle River, Alaska; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Friday at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel, with burial in Emanuel Hill Lutheran Church cemetery in Dubois.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
Alfred Lindauer
RICHLAND CITY — Alfred T. Lindauer, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at his home.
He was a farmer and member of the Spencer County Farm Bureau.
He was a member of St. Rupert Catholic Church and the men’s group in Red Brush, Eagles in Evansville and Boonville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3418.
Surviving are a daughter, Lavon Rininger of Rockport; two sons, James of Westlake, Calif., and Steve of Richland City; a sister, Esther Heichelbech of Tennyson; two brothers, Charles of Dale and Ed of Cleves, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Chris, Keary, and Amy Rininger, Allison, Eric, Stephanie, Lisa and Jeana Lindauer; a great-grandson; and his companion, Mildred Carr.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy S., in 1997 and a daughter, Janis, in 1950.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Rupert Catholic Church in Red Brush, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm. Friday, with a wake service at 7 p.m., and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport.
Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice or the church.
James Arflack Sr.
LYNNVILLE — James D. “J.D.” Arflack Sr., 73, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2000, at his home of cancer. He was a member of Local 808, Cypress Missionary Baptist Church, Evansville Owls, Veterans of Foreign Wars Fathers Auxiliary Post 3418 and Odd Fellows.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia J. Miller of Evansville; five sons, James D. Jr. of Lemoore, Calif., Thomas L. and Larry W., both of Chandler, David L. of Lynnville and Mark C. of Evansville; two sisters, Reta E. Duckworth of Newburgh and Gwendola F. Ford of Corydon, Ky.; 22 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. His wife, Doris Mae, died in 1978.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery in Evansville.

Carrie Fisher
CHANDLER — Carrie A. Fisher, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Angel River Health & Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.
She was a member of the Chandler United Methodist Church and the Ladies Circle.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jean Woolsey of Chandler; two sons, Donald E. and Harold Ray, both of Chandler; seven grandchildren, Nancy Biggs, Stephanie Virgin, Sheila Flinders, Cindy Carrol Kevin Fisher and Scott and Tony Woolsey; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Earl H, died in 1982.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Koehler Funeral Home Perigo Chapel, with burial in Greenwood cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday nd from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
