RONALD R. REES
MUNCIE - Ronald R. Rees, 70, South Bell Creek Road, Muncie, died May 5, 1999, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after a brief illness.
He was born in Delaware County, and graduated in 1946 from Daleville High School. He retired after 34 years at Ball Memorial Hospital. He also farmed locally for 30 years. He was a member of Yorktown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda (Frees) Rees of Muncie; son, Steve (wife, Tena) Rees of Daleville; daughter, Ilene (husband, Donald) Kuhl of Anderson; brother, Rex (wife, Ila) Rees of Muncie; mother, Wanda Rees of Yorktown; and eight grandchildren, Ian Rees, Audrey Rees, Sophia Rees, David Poe, Matthew Poe, Julie Kuhl, Brian Kuhl and Amy Kuhl.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Rees; and a daughter, Rita Poe.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Yorktown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Elm Ridge cemetery in Muncie.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Gant Funeral Home, Yorktown.

MADGE M. WALDO
Madge M. (Miller) Waldo, 93, Anderson, died May 5, 1999, at St. John's Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born March 28, 1906, in Boone County. She retired in 1966 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors and owned and operated her own beauty shop in the 1940s.
She was a member of Faith Assembly of God in Anderson.
Survivors include a niece, Phyllis (husband, Dr. J.L.) Colglazier of Dayton, Ohio; a nephew, Daniel (wife, Mildred) Miller of Middletown; several grandnieces and grandnephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a great-great-nephew.
Also surviving are many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Waldo; parents, Jasper Jonas and Corabelle (Hancock) Miller; and a brother, Clyde M. Miller.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Walt Weaver of Faith Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg cemetery in Mechanicsburg.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the South Chapel.
SOTERIA XIROGIANNIS
Soteria Xirogiannis, 90, Anderson, died May 6, 1999, at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born July 5, 1908, in Kalifonia, Kalarrye, Greece, the daughter of Peter and Vasilki Tsousis. She came to America with her first husband, Theodore (Mitchell) Mitsopoulos, in May 1936. She lived most of her life in Anderson.
She and her husband, Theodore, were in the restaurant business and popcorn concession until his death in March 1959.
She belonged to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Indianapolis.
Survivors include her husband, Gus Xirogiannis, whom she married
in 1962; five children, Mary (husband, Charles) Armington of Anderson, Gussie (wife, Donna Rae) Mitsopolous of Aranspass, Texas, Bessie Adams of Pompano Beach, Fla., Penny (husband, Halford) Seybert of Anderson, and Peter Mitchell of Anderson; six grandchildren, Kathy (husband, E.J.) Shockley and Becky (husband, Ray) Bunes of Fishers, Debbie Adams of Dallas, Texas, Charlie J. Armington of Mishawaka, Maria E. Armington of Apex, N.C., and Teddy Procnow of Marion; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore (Mitchell) Mitsopoulos.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with the Rev. Anastasios Gounaris officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A trisagion memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today.
ESTHER BUCHANAN
MANLIUS, N.Y. - Former Anderson resident Esther (Reel) Buchanan, 79, Manlius, died Nov. 9, 1999, at the University Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., after a sudden illness.
She was born June 8, 1920, in Bone Gap, Ill., and resided in Anderson and Oak Ridge, Tenn., for 40 years. She retired in Bethesda, Md., before moving to Manlius, N.Y., in 1997.
She taught English, Latin and social studies in Anderson and Oak Ridge, Tenn. Later, she was the office manager at The Primary Day School in Bethesda, Md.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim E. Buchanan of Manlius, N.Y.; brother, Darrel Reed of Anderson; sister, Corlene Woodruff of Anderson; niece, Jeannine Sears; great-niece, Stephanie Reismiller; great-nephew, Jeffery Sears; three great-great-nieces; and a great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil R. Buchanan; daughter, Nancy Ruth Buchanan; son, John David Buchanan; and parents, David and Ruth (Gannon) Reel.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, Anderson, with the Rev. Kenneth Sparks of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the South Chapel.

JOSEPH C. CRAWFORD
MESA, Ariz. Joseph Clifford Crawford, 56, died Nov. 7, 1999, at Scottsdale Healthcare in Arizona following a sudden illness.
He was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Port Smith, R.I., to Terrance and Evelyn (Campion) Crawford.
Although he lived in the Anderson area for more than 12 years, he had lived in several states during his lifetime and was currently living in Mesa, Ariz. He was employed with Loomis Fargo as a vault clerk and had been a jewelry maker and had worked at the Indiana Reformatory in Pendleton for several years.
He especially loved music and was a lead singer and bass guitar player for several bands. He was a fun-loving individual with a great sense of humor and dedicated to his friends and family.
A veteran who served four years in the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Chesterfield Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by one son, Terry (wife Shelley) Crawford of Anderson; three daughters, Angela (husband Robert) Elliott of Alexandria, Stefanie Jackson of Tucson, Ariz., and Shannon Crawford of Anderson; brother, Terrance (wife Paula) Crawford Jr. of Rhode Island; seven grandchildren, Connor and Shelby Crawford of Anderson, Dane and Brian Elliott of Alexandria, Sierra and Austin Jackson of Arizona, and Tyava Phillips of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and special family member Christine Crawford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Brian Crawford; a granddaughter, Becca Elliott; and a special grandmother, Grams.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Noffze Funeral Home Alexandria Chapel with Associate Pastor Carl Lamb of Faith Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow at Park View cemetery in Alexandria.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

IRENE FISHER
ELWOOD - Irene Fisher, 79, Elwood, died Nov. 10, 1999, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was a veterinarian's assistant for Dr. John Updike in Elwood for 40 years, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include three children, Sherry L. Vanbuskirk, Sammy C. Fisher and Terry L. Fisher; sister, Christine Tranbarger; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Copher & Fesler Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

ALEXANDRIA - Katherine Hueston, 94, Alexandria, died Nov. 11, 1999, at Alexandria Care Center after an extended illness.

EVERETT M. IMEL
Everett Milton Imel, 86, Anderson, died Nov. 11, 1999, Veterans Day, at ManorCare Nursing Home after an extended illness with Alzheimer's disease.
He was born April 19, 1913, in Anderson, and lived in Anderson all of his life. He was employed in the gage crib in Delco Remy Plant 10 and Plant 4 for a total of 47 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a 1932 graduate of Anderson High School and was a member of the Steering Committee for 1932 class reunions. He served in World War II for 3 1/2 years, including the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Coast Guard following the end of World War II. He served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean Middle East and Pacific War Zone.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266, American Legion Post 127, 50-year member of the Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge 77 F&AM;, and a retiree of United Auto Workers Local 662. During his lifetime he has been associated with Central Christian Church, the Chesterfield Free Will Baptist Church and First Church of the Nazarene. At Ovid Community Church he was treasurer of the Building Committee during the building of the James P. Imel Memorial Youth Center, built in memory of his son.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Pauline (Van Ness) Imel of Anderson, whom he married
Aug. 14, 1935, in Anderson; daughter, Marjorie D. Imel of Anderson; two brothers, Lee B. Imel and Ora K. (wife, Wanda) Imel, both of Anderson; sister, Edith Baum of Anderson; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Geraldine "Jerry" Tolbert of Ocala, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Benton and Daisy (Noland) Imel; son, Marine Sgt. James P. Imel, who was killed during the Vietnam War in 1969.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Kenneth Sparks of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266 and American Legion.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sgt. James P. Imel Memorial Youth Center, Christian Center, Alzheimer's Association, First Church of the Nazarene, and Chesterfield First Free Will Baptist Church.
ROSEMARY S. MITCHENER
FAIRMOUNT - Rosemary S. (Martin) Mitchener, 64, Fairmount, died Nov. 11, 1999, at her residence.
She was a former employee of Hills Department Store, downtown Marion, and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, James L. Mitchener; son, James L. (wife, Karen) Mitchener II; daughter, Beth (husband, Dane) Lawing; and four grandchildren, Kiley Waller, Jared Lawing, James L. Mitchener III and Connor Mitchener.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairmount Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Steven Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Park cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home.

MARTHA J. REEDER
Martha J. (John) Reeder, 72, Anderson, died Nov. 10, 1999, at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Mount Comfort, and lived in this area all of her life. She retired as a barber from Glisten's Barber Shop in Anderson after 35 years of employment.
She was a member of Chesterfield Christian Church in Chesterfield. She was a graduate of Anderson High School.
Survivors include her husband, Woodrow W. Reeder, whom she married
Nov. 2, 1946; five sons, John Reeder of Fort Wayne, Darrell (wife, Sue) Reeder of Jonesboro, Kenneth (wife, Sylvia) Reeder of Anderson, Richard (wife, Susie) Reeder of Shirley, and Dan David (wife, Dori) Reeder of Tipton; three brothers, William (wife, Mildred) Gentry and Robert (wife, Phyllis) John, both of Chesterfield, and Donald (wife, Cathy) John of Tucson, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Lela (Girt) John; one grandchild; brother, Norman John; and a sister, Donna "Jerry" Reed.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, South Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Weber of Chesterfield Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery.
