Molease J. Hutto

Molease J. Hutto, 94, Kokomo, and formerly of Tipton, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Manor Care Health Services in Kokomo. She was born April 10, 1913 in Prairie Township of Tipton County to Ora Estle & Viola "Ola" (Beard) Jones. On August 19, 1935 she married H. Ralph Hutto and he died November 11, 1997.

She was a member of the West Street Christian Church, Tipton County Historical Society, Eastern Star #89 in Kokomo, Busy Bee Club in Goldsmith and the Pricilla Club.

Molease is survived by one son, Harold R. Hutto and his wife Brenda, Kokomo; two grandchildren, Hal Hutto and his wife Zelma, Thorntown, and Sharon La Rue and her husband John, Muncie; three great-grandchildren, Brian, Adam and Nathan Hutto.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home in Tipton with Rev. Harold Williams presiding. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Garden in Kokomo. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Urban Outreach, P.O. Box 20122, Kokomo, Indiana, 46094.

Randy G. Ingles

Randy G. Ingles, 44 of Sheridan died suddenly Friday May 16, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are pending.

Bessie Jackson

Former Tipton resident Bessie Jackson, 92, died at 4:58 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Sunrise of Carmel. She was born February 4, 1914, in Rocky Hill, Kentucky to Frank & Ola (Madison) Sneed. She married Duward Duke in 1929 and he passed away in 1941. She then married Charles Jackson in 1943 and he died in 1985. Bessie was a member of the Normanda Christian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Fields and husband Jerry, Frankfort and Doris Armstrong, Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren, John Duke, Susie Gallmeyer, Gary Duke, Cheri Morris, David Duke, Todd Fields, Kimberly Maxwell, Amy Bolin, Patrick Armstrong and Allison Armstrong; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. One son, Aubrey Duke, is deceased.

Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Brown presiding. Burial will be in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Catharine L. Joerger

Catharine L. Joerger, 96, Tipton, died at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Tipton Hospital. She was born in Litchfield, Illinois on October 14, 1909 to Augusta and Cora Pearl (Wilson) Buscher. Catharine married Timothy Leo Joerger on October 6, 1936, he preceded her in death on September 3, 1958.

Catharine was a homemaker. She belonged to the Homecraft Club and the Altar Rosary Society at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton.

She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Bristol and husband Ralph, Windfall; one sister, Helen Hasket, Tipton; two grandchildren, Rich Bristol and wife Theresa, Tipton and Barbara Writtenhouse, Muncie; seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Her funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon - 2:00 Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 340 Mill Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

Elizabeth Ann Johnson

Elizabeth Ann Johnson, 86, Tipton, died at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2008 at Autumnwood Extended Care. She was born June 11, 1921 in Azusa, California, to Charles & Annie M. (Metcalfe) Knight. On July 3, 1942 she married Sidney E. Johnson and he died in May, 1986.

She is survived by one son, David S. Johnson, Tipton, and one daughter, Anne M. Metcalfe.

Private burial will be held in Camarillo, California.

Allen L. Jones

Allen L. Jones, 59, Tipton, died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born February 16, 1947, in Elwood to Garnet F. & Mary V. (Bohannon) Jones.

He retired from Tipton Fire Department in 1993 after serving as Deputy Chief and Training Instructor. He worked as an investigator for the State Fire Marshal's Office from 1995- 1996 and was the former director of the Tipton County 911 Dispatch Center. Allen was an instructor for the Indiana Fire Instructors Association and a member of the FOP. He belonged to the Indy GTO Club, was a Little League coach and he enjoyed restoring hotrods.

He is survived by one daughter, Andrea Delph and husband Bob, Tipton; one son, Jarrod Jones and wife Amy, Tipton; a special companion, Susie Dickover; one sister, Jeanette Sloan, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Jordan Davis, Brooklynn Delph, Brice Delph, Kelby Jones, Kyra Robinson and Isaac Jones. One granddaughter is deceased.

Allen's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, at Rock Prairie Baptist Church, 421 Ash Street, Tipton, with Rev. Kevin Carr presiding. Burial will in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, 216 W. Jefferson Street, Tipton, and from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the Tipton Fire Prevention Fund, 227 E. Jefferson Street, Tipton, Indiana, 46072 or the Tipton Honor Guard c/o Tipton County Foundation, P.O. Box 412, Tipton, Indiana, 46072.

Mykal Apollo Kanable

Mykal Apollo Kanable, 5 months old, Peru, died at 6:34 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. He was born March 6, 2006 in Kokomo to Robert A. "Tony" & Amy L. (VanSickel) Kanable and they survive.

Mykal is also survived by one brother, Kaden X. Kanable and one sister, Ash-Lee M. Kanable, both at home; grandparents Georgian & Thomas Browning, Russiaville, Kirk & Mary VanSickel, Kokomo, Misty & Todd Bowling, Kokomo, Jo & Dallas Scherer, Tennessee, and John & Dana Kanable, Tennesse; great-grandparents Doris Browning, Kokomo, Maxine VanSickel, Kokomo and Bronson & Juanita Bowling, Ohio. He was preceded in death by great-grandparents Barbara Kimble, James Kimble, George Coffman and Leroy VanSickel.

He is also survived by aunts & uncles Airman Joseph Lundy, Torie Bowling, Brent & Sarah VanSickel, Tonya Smith, Michael & Amy Smith, Steve & Leslie Browning, Jeanie & James Hawes and Tommy & Sherrie Browning.

Mykal's funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 14 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Greg Hiatt presiding and burial following in Sunset Memory Garden in Kokomo. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

Cynthia E. Kelly

Cynthia E. Kelly, 92, formerly of Hobbs, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Miller's Merry Manor in Tipton. She was born in Hobbs on October 9, 1915, to Melvin M. & Clara I. (Castor) Hobbs.

She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia A. Noble and husband Ray, of Hobbs and Lake Wales, Florida, Andrea L. Elledge and husband Jerry of West Lafayette, and Candace K. Hobbs of Greenville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Tamera Noble Brown-Havens of Tipton, Mark E. Noble of Hobbs, and Jeffrey B. Elledge of Austin, Texas; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, two grandchildren, Nathan K. Shiffler and Christina L. Shiffler, and three husbands.

Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 2709 Albright Road, Kokomo, Indiana, 46902.

Larry J. Kilfoil

Larry J. Kilfoil, 66 of Tipton died at 1:12 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born February 5, 1941 in Ottumwa, Iowa to John Joseph & Clara Mae (Seibert) Kilfoil. On April 28, 1962 he married Karen Sue Hinds and she survives.

He worked at Delco Electronics, retiring in 1997 after 32 years of service. Larry was a 1959 graduate of Ottumwa High School. He was a member of Hobbs Christian Church where he was an elder and held a variety of church offices. He coached Pee Wee, Minor, and Little League baseball and was very active in Tipton County 4-H, serving as superintendent of the Swine Barn during the county fair. He was an avid sprint car race fan.

Larry served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Bunker Hill.

Survivors include his wife Karen Sue Kilfoil; two daughters, Amy Leigh Leitch and her husband Ryan, Carmel and Kelley Lynn Kilfoil, Tipton; grandchildren Jessica, Matt, Jake and Hannah Leitch, A.J., Megan and Tyler Kilfoil, and Blake and Shay Kilfoil; two brothers, Kenny Young, Arizona and Jesse E. Young, Jr., Montrose, Iowa; two sisters, Linda Fitzsimmons, Wataga, Illinois and Karen Moore, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James Joseph Kilfoil.

Larry's funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Burns-Watson presiding. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Tipton. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tipton County 4-H, 1200 S. Main Street, Tipton, Indiana 46072.

Marie Latendresse

Marie Latendresse, 100, Tipton, died at 1:52 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at the St. Joseph Center in Tipton. She was born October 1, 1906 in Hugo, Minnesota to Napoleon & Hermina (Tetrault) Morrisette. On June 4, 1923, she married George J. Latendresse and he died February 15, 1972. She had previously lived in Marion, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and then Tipton for the last 27 years.

Marie was a homemaker and a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include five daughters, Sr. Eugenia Latendresse and Ramona Larson, both of Tipton, Joann Bosi, Ft. Wayne, Shirley Latendresse, Greeley, Colorado, and Mary Urban, Ft. Wayne; one son, John Francis Latendresse, Denver, Colorado; 33 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, 111 descendants in all.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Clayton and Jules Latendresse and several brothers and sisters. She was the last of the Morrisette and Latendresse generation.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 9 at the St. Joseph Center, 1440 W. Division Road, Tipton, with Fr. Keith Hosey presiding. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Cemetery, Marion. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions to the St. Joseph Center, 1440 W. Division Road, Tipton, Indiana 46072.

Mark E. Marvel

Mark E. Marvel, 45, Westfield, and formerly of Tipton, Fishers, and Indianapolis died Friday, July 25, 2008 in Indianapolis. He was born in Gary, Indiana on November 30, 1962 to Ralph and Sue (Swadener )Marvel and they survive in Fishers. On September 12, 1992 he married Joann M. (Federspill) Scruggs and she survives.

Mark was the director of training for the Seals Ambulance Service in Fortville. He was a certified primary instructor and certified in ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, EPC, and CPR. He was also a fire instructor and a Nationally Registered EMT - Paramedic. Mark was a member of the Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department in Tipton, and had worked for Riley Hospital on the neo-natal transport team and worked at Methodist Hospital in the emergency room.

Along with his wife and parents, Mark is also survived by one son Justin T. Marvel and wife Holly of Noblesville, one stepson Jason L. Scruggs of Kokomo. Three brothers Ross and wife Natalie, Nebraska, Tom and wife Polly, Indianapolis, and Todd and wife Stephanie, Kentucky. Five nieces and one nephew and one grandson Micah Marvel, Noblesville also survive.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 30, at Morningstar Church, 2900 East Markland Ave., Kokomo. Pastor Greg Reed will preside. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Park, Westfield. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to one of the following, Seals Ambulance Service, 3956 Culligan Ave. Indianapolis, IN, 46218 for sponsorships of future paramedic students, the Cicero Township Volunteer Fire Department, 750 Development Dr. Tipton, IN, 46072, or the Noblesville Fire Department, 135 S. 9th St. Noblesville IN, 46060.

Young-Nichols Funeral Home, Tipton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Arley J. "Joe" McAdams

Arley J. "Joe" McAdams, 63, Tipton, died at 7:53 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2008 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born March 4, 1945 in Bald Knob, Arkansas to Lewis & Katherine (Norman) McAdams. On September 2, 1967 he married Dorothy Powell and she survives.

Joe retired from the National Guard in 1986 and Acraline Products in 2001. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Angela Hill and husband Curtis, Tipton, and Amy McAdams and fiancé Matt Gonzales, Indianapolis; two sisters, Floetta Scelta and Sherley McAdams, both of New York state; one brother, Lewis Alfred McAdams, Arkansas; three grandsons, Wesley, Noah and Graham Hill; several brothers and sisters-in-law including a special sister-in-law, Beth Rippy.

His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Tipton, with Rev. Leroy Kinnaman presiding. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Tipton, with military honors. Visitation will be from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes. Association, 6415 Castleway W. Drive, Suite 114, Indianapolis, IN, 46250, or the National Kidney Foundation, 911 East 86th Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN, 46240.

John B. Ogden

John Bernard Ogden, 75, Cicero died at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Tipton Hospital. He was born November 26, 1930 in Hayden, Indiana, to Dennis Ogden and Mary C. (Sharp) Ogden Tragesser. On May 1, 1976 he married Patricia A. Skinner and she survives.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1968 after 21 years of service having served in the Korean War. He later retired form Steel Parts in Tipton in 1990. John was a member of the Moose Lodge in Tipton.

Survivors besides his wife Patricia include daughters and sons Christine Hartfield, Arcadia, Kenny Majors and wife Pam, Arcadia, Curt Majors and wife Stephanie, Cicero, Mark Ogden and wife Pam, Fair Hope, Alabama, Diane Jones and husband Glen, Dauphin Island, Alabama, Susan Smith and husband Gary, Semmes, Alabama, and Sharon Ogden, California.

John is also survived by one sister, Jane Stokes, Arcadia; five brothers, Walter P. Ogden, Indianapolis, Mort Ogden and Mike Ogden, both of Tipton, Phillip Ogden, Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Clyde Ogden, Elwood; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. One sister, Lucille Ogden, is deceased.

His funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Clark. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
