Mary Blanche Emmert
Mary Blanche Emmert, 72, Lebanon, died at 2:53 p.m. Feb. 13, 2000, at Witham Hospital there.

Mrs. Emmert worked at Winkler's and was a secretary for Adler's. She was a 1945 graduate of Jackson Township School in Clinton County. She was a member of Central Christian Church and Lebanon Order of Eastern Star.

She was born Nov. 30, 1927, in Boone County, to Glen and Corenn Johnson Reagan. She married Thomas E. Emmert in Mechanicsburg on Feb. 14, 1951, and he survives.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Russell & Hitch Funeral Home, Lebanon, with the Rev. Raymond Duff officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Boone County. Calling hours are 4 - 8 p.m. today, with Eastern Star services at 5.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Awareness Association of Central Indiana.

James O. Pogue
James O. Pogue, 88, formerly of 851 N. Clay St., died at 12:55 p.m. Feb. 14, 2000, at Wesley Manor Health Care Center after a three - month illness. He had lived at the manor since August 1996.

Mr. Pogue was the owner of Pogue Electric Co., and retired in 1978. He was a 1930 Frankfort High School graduate and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving during D - Day and the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a member of the Frankfort Elks Lodge and life member of the Frankfort Moose Lodge. He also was a past member and president of Frankfort Optimists Club.

He was born March 23, 1911, in Frankfort, to Oliver Lee and Mary Entrekin Pogue. He married Martha J. Orr in Washington on July 28, 1947, and she died Dec. 27, 1995.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the manor's Amanda Reid Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Allan officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and services. Memorials may be made to the manor, with envelopes available there or at the funeral home.

Elma "Rosie" "Granny" Rice
Elma "Rosie" "Granny" Rice, 84, West Middleton, died at 10:58 a.m. Feb. 13, 2000, at SCCI Hospital, Kokomo.

Mrs. Rice worked at Delco Electronics from 1947 - 60. She then worked at T - Wat Dry Cleaners, and was an Avon representative from 1965 - 78.

She was a 1933 graduate of West Middleton High School, and attended one year at Purdue University. She was a former member of the Harrison Township Home Economics Club.

She was born March 6, 1915, in Howard County, to Frank and Rachel Butler Johnson. She married Don M. Rice on Feb. 2, 1957, and he died Aug. 3, 1988.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens cemetery, Kokomo. Friends may call from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Ada Nolen Smith
Ada Nolen Smith, 98, Glasgow, Ky., died Feb. 14, 2000, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital there.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Dover Baptist Church in Haywood, Ky.

She was born in Allen County, Ky., to William and Lula Hargus Bridges. She married Gilbert Ayers Smith, and he preceded her in death.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Glasgow. Burial will follow at Glasgow Municipal cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Regenia Eileen Clark
Regenia Eileen Clark, 66, 1551 E. Ohio St., died at 6:23 p.m. Feb. 15, 2000, at Clinton County Hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Wheatland High School, and had lived in Frankfort since 1962.

She was born Dec. 25, 1933, in Washington, to Vercille Marcellus and Dora Inda Gaither Rodarmel. She married George Leonard Clark in Lafayette on Dec. 28, 1962, and he survives.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with Pastor Barbara Kinsler officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Margaret Ann Ewing
Margaret Ann Ewing, 62, 1558 Rossville Ave., died Feb. 15, 2000, at Clinton County Hospital.

Mrs. Ewing worked at Zachary Confections (and the former Peter Paul) for 17 years. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary 255 and a past member of the Clinton County Genealogy Society. She was a 1955 graduate of Frankfort High School.

She was born April 23, 1937, in Frankfort, to Robert L. and Alma N. Grice Carter. She married Frank Dedon and they divorced. She married Kenneth Ewing on July 12, 1979, and he died Nov. 23, 1993.

Private funeral services will be Saturday at Frye & Genda Funeral Home, with the Rev. Forrest Bowers officiating. Burial will follow at Bunnell cemetery. Friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday.

Elta R. Marks
Elta R. Marks, 1555 N. Main St., died at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 15, 2000, at Wesley Manor Healthcare Center.

Mrs. Marks was a homemaker, and painted murals in the Clinton Abstract office. She was active in the local Republican Party, and served as precinct committeewoman. She also served on the Clinton County Welfare Board.

She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Indiana University.

She was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Kokomo, to Judge Curtis W. and Lois N. Polson Roll. She married R. Adrian Marks on March 23, 1941, and he died March 7, 1998.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 26 at the manor's Amanda Reid Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Allan officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and services.

Memorials may be made to the Frankfort Public Library, with envelopes available at the funeral home or manor.

Gertrude Louise McKinzie
Gertrude Louise McKinzie, 88, Lebanon, died at 2:35 p.m. Feb. 15, 2000, at Parkwood Healthcare Center there.

Mrs. McKinzie was a homemaker. She grew up and attended school in Clinton County, and lived in Frankfort until 1949, when she moved to Lebanon. She then lived on a farm near Jamestown until returning to Lebanon in 1981.

She was a member of First Community Church in Lebanon and Jamestown American Legion Auxiliary.

She was born Aug. 18, 1911, in Mechanicsburg, to Harry and Jennie Pearl Roth Reagan. She married Otis Burl McKinzie in Huntington in 1949, and he died Jan. 27, 1977.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at I.O.O.F. cemetery, Jamestown. No calling is planned. Myers Mortuary, Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements and services.

Memorials may be made to any charity.

Joan Alice Martin
Joan Alice Martin, 65, 1411 Wilshire Court, died at 4:35 a.m. Dec. 3, 1997, at Clinton County Hospital.

Mrs. Martin retired from Mallory Controls after 20 years. She was a lifelong Frankfort resident.

Private services will be conducted.

Ernest Joseph 'Rusty' Martin
Ernest Joseph "Rusty" Martin, 74, formerly of 7 W. White St., died at 6:40 a.m. Aug. 29, 1998, at Clinton House Convalescent Center.

Mr. Martin was a lineman for Nickel Plate Railroad, and a construction worker until he retired in 1986. He also refinished antiques.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, and a 35 - year member of Union Local 274, Lafayette. He served in the U.S. 82nd Airborne Unit during World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Frye & Genda Funeral Home, with Dr. Steven Beasley officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Raymond W. (Doggie) Allen
Raymond W. ``Doggie" Allen, 72, 52 E. Palmer St., died at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 30, 1998, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, after an 11 - day illness.

Mr. Allen was a school bus driver for Frankfort High School since 1972. He attended Frankfort High School and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the family, with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Della Lorene Barbee
Della Lorene Barbee, 90, Heritage Health Care Center, Muncie, died at 1:20 p.m. Dec. 26, 1998, at Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Mrs. Barbee had worked at Jules Simon Co., Frankfort, and the Marion County Guardian Home in Indianapolis. She was a founding member of First Church of the Nazarene in Frankfort, and was a Red Cross volunteer. She had lived in Indianapolis seven years, and also in Brownsville, Texas, and Angola, where she attended Angola United Methodist Church.

She was born Jan. 3, 1908, in Clinton County, to Morris and Mary Wicker Alexander. She married Paul Barbee on Feb. 13, 1926, and he died in 1964.

She is survived by two daughters, Bernice Cody of Indianapolis and Dolores Richards of Englewood, Fla.; seven grandchildren, 21 great - grandchildren, and one great - great - grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Earl Roustio officiating. Burial will follow at Bunnell cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 8 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home, and after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Bernadine M. Coombs
Bernadine M. Coombs, 70, 400 Hemlock Drive, died at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 4, 1999, at her home.

Mrs. Coombs retired from Indiana Bell Co. after 41 years of services. She was a member of Indiana Bell Pioneers, and Women of the Moose since 1965. She was a 1946 graduate of Michigantown High School.

She was born June 14, 1928, in Warren Township, Clinton County, to Merrill and Laura Alice Avery Maish.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Wortinger officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell cemetery. Friends may call from 3 - 6 p.m. Friday.
