Patsy K. Bower
Patsy K. Bower, 45, Colfax, died at 12:31 a.m. June 22, 2001, in Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Bower had worked in the meat department of O'Malia's Food Stores in Carmel and at Shopwright Market in Frankfort. She was a member of Frankfort Women of the Moose.

She was born Aug. 17, 1955, in Frankfort to Fred and Dorothy Stockberger Bitner. She married Larry Bower in October 1975, and they divorced.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Howe officiating. Burial will be in Whiteman cemetery, Michigantown. Friends may call 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday.

Georgia P. Albright
Georgia P. Albright, 85, Indianapolis, died at 2:15 a.m. June 24, 2001, in St. Vincent Hospice there.

Mrs. Albright was 1932 graduate of Colfax High School and worked as a clerk for 13 years at the Clinton County Bank & Trust, Colfax. She moved to Speedway in 1968. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, and was a member of Colfax United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Albright was born Sept. 28, 1915, in Bowers Station to Noble Rush and Edna Phebus Doty. She married David A. Albright on Dec. 24, 1935, and he died July 29, 1977. Surviving are three sons, David E. (Ruth) of Bloomington, Terrill D. (Judith) of Indianapolis and Michael R. (Janice) of Michigan; a brother, Kenneth Doty of Frankfort; four grandchildren and two great - grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Calling will begin two hours before the service.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Kenneth David Dickerson
Kenneth David Dickerson, 74, Clarks Hill, died at 7:46 p.m. June 23, 2001, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Mr. Dickerson was a graduate of Stockwell High School and earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue University in 1951. He was a retired school teacher, having taught 33 years in West Point, Southwestern and Battle Ground. He was the first principal of Harrison High School and taught adult education in Clinton County. He served the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. He was a member of the John Purdue Club, the Moose and Elks lodges, the Lions Club of Frankfort and the Frankfort Country Club. He was a 32 - degree Mason and a volunteer at St. Elizabeth.

Mr. Dickerson was born June 16, 1927, in Wingate. He married Mary Elizabeth Snouwaert on Aug. 16, 1952, in Lafayette and she survives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Soller - Baker Lafayette Chapel with the Rev. Mark Hill officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. Friends may call 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may be made to the Kenneth David Dickerson Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Tippecanoe County School Corp., 21 Elston Road, Lafayette, IN 47909.

Melba June 'Miley' Hollingsworth
Melba June "Miley" Hollingsworth, 78, Sharpsville, died at 10 a.m. June 23, 2001, in her home.

Mrs. Hollingsworth attended Kokomo High School. She had been a line manager for Barbizon Factory and a real estate agent in Provo, Utah. She worked at Reliance Sewing Factory in Kokomo and retired from Delco Electronics in 1982 after 27 years. She also was a homemaker. She attended Beulah Land Church, Sharpsville.

Mrs. Hollingsworth was born July 9, 1922, in Gibson County to Buel and Delia Hope Miley. She married Benjamin C. Hollingsworth on July 27, 1941, and he died Dec. 27, 2000.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Russiaville, with the Rev. Dan Coomer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens cemetery, Kokomo. Calling is 4 - 8 p.m. today.

Forest Mandaville 'Mandy' Padgett
Forest Mandaville "Mandy" Padgett, 82, Lebanon, died at 2:14 p.m. June 23, 2001, in Witham Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Padgett was raised near Kirklin and graduated from Kirklin High School in 1937. He farmed near Whitestown until 1986 and was a tool and die machinist for 26 years at Western Electric, Indianapolis. He moved to Lebanon in 1993. He was a past master of the Siloam Lodge No. 609 F&AM;, Mechanicsburg, a member of the former Slabtown Daisy Pushers Band and the Lebanon Senior Citizens Top of the Hill Band and the Lebanon Bible Baptist Church.

Mr. Padgett was born May 18, 1919, near Waugh to Charles Martin and Pearl Mae Smith Padgett. He married Madge Elizabeth Languell on Nov. 25, 1943, and she died Dec. 31, 1988. He married Lola M. Allen Artman on Jan. 19, 1993, in Townsend, Tenn., and she survives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Mortuary, Lebanon, with Pastor Jack Stanley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Calling will be 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Masonic service at 7:30.

Memorials may be made to the Lebanon Bible Baptist Church youth ministry or the Siloam Lodge scholarship fund.

John Norris Davis
John Norris Davis, 78, Atlanta, Ga., died June 17, 2001, in his home.

Mr. Davis was a graduate of Kirklin High School. In 1948, he received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University's School of Electrical Engineering. He was a World War II veteran and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the Electricity Management Division of Schlumberger Inc., where he was in charge of the design and marketing of transformers.

Mr. Davis was born in Frankfort on Dec. 17, 1923, to Lloyd E. and Florence Norris Davis. He married H. Frances Davis, and she survives.

Also surviving are six children, nine grandchildren and one brother, James L. of Frankfort.

Services were Wednesday at Christ the King Cathedral in Atlanta, Ga.

Marilyn M. C. Cheesman Haupt
Marilyn M. C. Cheesman Haupt, 66, Lafayette, died June 25, 2001, in her home.

Mrs. Haupt was a life - long resident of Lafayette. She graduated from of Dayton High School in 1952, an operating technician school in 1953, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1956, and she earned a bachelor's degree in health arts at St. Francis College in 1979. She was a registered nurse for St. Elizabeth Medical Center 39 years. She retired in 1994 but continued to work part time in the wound - care center. She was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing Alumnae Association, District 8 American Nurses Association, and the Jefferson Order of Eastern Star No. 592.

Mrs. Haupt was born July 1, 1934, in Lafayette. She married Ralph E. Haupt on Feb. 26, 1966, in Mulberry, and he died Nov. 26, 1993.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home, Lafayette, with the Rev. Thomas Hoehner officiating. Entombment will be in the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Calling will begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

RICHARD L. BANNING
ELKHART – Richard L. Banning, 67, of 1012 E. Carlton Ave., died at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday (May 19, 1998) in Rosewood Terrace after an illness.
He was born on Dec. 4, 1930, in Decatur, Ill., and married Shirley R. Smith on Nov. 21, 1958, in Decatur. She survives with two daughters, Mrs. Dalton (Melodie) Wise of Elkhart and Patty Wrigley - Maxey of Decatur; one granddaughter; and a brother, Herbert of Decatur. One brother, David, is deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the 10 a.m. Friday service at Westbrook - Metz & Clouse Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel Gelatt and the Rev. John Morrow will officiate. Burial will be in Sugar Grove cemetery, Goshen.
Mr. Banning was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, retiring as a sergeant major after eight years of service.
He had worked as a sales representative for Van Ply Inc. and the Simpson Supply Co. and was a former corporate officer for Yellowstone Corp., Holiday Rambler Corp., Holiday World, Coachmen Industries Inc., Vyquest Inc., Beachcraft Inc. and Champion Motor Coach Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Alcoholics Anonymous and the Christianaires Sunday School Class.
Memorials may be given to Serenity Hall, the Elkhart Baptist Christian School or the family.

MARC A. FROELICH
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas – Marc A. Froelich, 56, of Pflugerville, formerly of Elkhart, died on Monday (May 18, 1998).
He was born on Oct. 11, 1941, in Elkhart, and is survived by his wife, Ann (Tobin) Froelich of Pflugerville; his father, Walter Froelich of Elkhart; one daughter, Teresa Allred of Fuquay - Varina, N.C.; a son, John of Bradenton, Fla.; and one grandson.
Mr. Froelich retired in 1979 from the U.S. Air Force after serving 20 years. After his retirement, he worked in the environmental health field.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8787 in Austin. The body will be cremated. Cook - Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Austin, 3710 Cedar St., Austin, TX 78705.

JAMES E. RUMSEY
STROH – James Earl Rumsey, 68, of 11800 E. 390 S., died on Tuesday (May 19, 1998) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Battle Creek, Mich.
He was born on April 3, 1930, in Coldwater, Mich., and married Eunice “Corine” Westbrook LaMotte on Oct. 6, 1956, in Hillsdale, Mich. She survives with three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Cindy) Diedo of Naperville, Ill., Treasa Thompson of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Tom (Michele) Pecar of Mancelona, Mich.; and three sons, David LaMotte of Kendallville, Gary Thompson of Tampa and Michael Rumsey of Garrett.
Mr. Rumsey is also survived by eight grandchildren; two great - grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta Coney of LaGrange, Cleo Carter of Bronson, Mich., and Pat Davenport of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and a brother, John of Coldwater. One brother, Frank, is deceased.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Carney - Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Pastor Ralph Diehl will officiate. Burial will be in Brushey Chapel cemetery.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Rumsey owned and operated Rumsey’s Greenhouse and Fruit Market.
Memorials may be given to the American Leukemia Society.

IRENE E. BABCOCK
LAGRANGE – Irene E. Babcock, 86, of 215 W. South St., died on Tuesday (May 19, 1998) in Vencor Hospital.
She was born on July 16, 1911, in LaGrange. As Irene E. Nelson, she married Clark W. Babcock on June 21, 1931, in LaGrange. He died June 19, 1977. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Mary Ann) Nelson of LaGrange; a son, John C. of Waupaca, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren. Her sister, Josephine D. Miller, died in 1979.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Frurip - May Funeral Home, where the service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dale Linhart and the Rev. George Youstra will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery.
A lifetime LaGrange County resident, Mrs. Babcock was a former bus driver for LaGrange Community Schools and a retired examiner with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
She was a member of the LaGrange Business & Professional Women, First United Methodist Church of LaGrange and the Martha Circle and had served as vice chairperson of the LaGrange County Republican Committee.
Memorials may be given to Shriner Children’s Hospital.

GARY L. HUSER
SYRACUSE – Gary Lynn Huser, 43, of 71647 C.R. 133, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday (May 19, 1998) in Pendleton after a sudden illness.
He was born on Aug. 12, 1954, in Goshen, and is survived by four sons, David L., Michael W. and Jason M. Huser, all of Goshen, and Robert J. Madinger of Putnamville; his parents, William W. and Maxine Huser of Goshen; two sisters, Mrs. Claude (Jackie) Shaw of Middlebury and Carolyn Rice of Elkhart; and a brother, Timothy of Elkhart. One brother, Michael, died in 1952.
Friends may call from noon until 1:45 p.m. today at Yoder - Culp Funeral Home in Goshen, when a processional will leave the funeral home for the 2 p.m. graveside service at Oakridge cemetery, Goshen. The Rev. Mel L. Shelter of Maple City Chapel will officiate.
Mr. Huser graduated in 1973 from Goshen High School and had worked for Ancon Construction Co. He was an avid fisherman.
