Anna M. Ludlow
age 67; of New Albany
Anna M. Ledlow, 67, of New Albany, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a retired computer designer and a long time member of the SPCA.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Ludlow; three sons, David, Kenneth and Robert; three daughters; her mother, Hazel D. Peyton; a brother, Harry J. Peyton and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No funeral service or burial will be held. The body was donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Oak Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harriette E. Thorn
age 87; of Sellersburg
Funeral services for Harriette E. Thorn, 87, of Sellersburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at Garr Funeral Home, with burial in Sellersburg Cemetery. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Autumn Woods Health Campus, New Albany.
She was the former Harriette Elizabeth McCurdy and was formerly employed by Indiana Bell Telephone Company. She served as a decorator for Thorns Art Shop, New Albany and was a member of Altrusa Club of New Albany.
Survivors include two sons, Robert N. Thorn, Decatur and David W. Thorn, Bastonia, N.C.; a daughter, Wanda T. Baker, Floyds Knobs; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, and after noon Sunday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the National Alzheimers Association.
Alma J. Wojciechowski
age 76; of Sellersburg
Graveside services for Alma J. Wojciechowski, 76, of Sellersburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, lived in Geneva, Ohio until Dec. 2000 and was a former nurses aide for Carrington Park Nursing Home, Ashtabula, Ohio.
Survivors include two daughters, Rochelle Goforth, Jeffersonville and Gayle Sprott, Geneva on the Lake, Ohio; a son, Walter J. Wojciechowski, Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Les Emerson, St. Louis, Missouri and grandchildren, Shannon Gillespie, Carrie Goforth and Hannah Goforth, Jeffersonville, Melyssa Sprott, Ashtubula, Ohio, Joey Wojciechowski, Atlanta,Ga., and Debbie Wojciechowski, Marlow Sprott, Johnnie Sprott and Jeremy Sprott, Geneva on the Lake, Ohio and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Sally Emerson.
Patsy Jean Broughton
age 69; beautician
Funeral services for Patsy Jean Broughton, 69, of Charlestown, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Louisville. She died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Medical Center of Southern Indiana. She was a native of Virginia and a self employed beautician.
Survivors include her husband, McKinley Broughton; two sons, McKinley Broughton Jr., New Albany and Michael Broughton, London, Ky.; three daughters, Theresa Sullivan, New Albany, Carolyn Broughton-Weillett, Shutesbury, Mass. and Melissa Brown, Louisville; a brother, Doyle Powell, LaGrange, Ky. ; a sister, Victoria Lighton, Delton, Fla.; a cousin, Sally Patton, Louisville and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Ada C. Campbell
age 93; retired nurse's aide
Funeral services for Ada C. Campbell, 93, of Clarksville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Salem M.E. Church Cemetery, Charlestown. She died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Westminster Healthcare, Clarksville. She was a native of Clark County, a retired nurse's aide and a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the church quilting group.
Survivors include two sons, Irvin L. Campbell, Jeffersonville and Burford Wayne Campbell, Big River, Calif.; two daughters, Norma Jean Franklin, Indianapolis and Betty Lou Duplessie, Norca, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Viola A. Canales
age 73; a homemaker
Funeral services for Viola A. Canales, 73, of Jeffersonville, were held at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 2, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, with burial in burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Schnellville, a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Andres Canales, Jeffersonville; a sister, Rita Taylor, Louisville and two grandchildren.
Visitation was held Sunday and after 9 a.m. this morning at Coots Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andres Canales Jr. and two brothers, Urvan and A.J. Persohn.
Robert B. Crabtree
age 62; of Clarksville
Funeral services for Robert B. Crabtree, 62, of Clarksville, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, Winn Funeral Home, Horse Cave, Ky., with burial in full military rites. She died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired sergeant for the U.S. Army and a Vietnam veteran.
He was the son of the late Fred and Billie Crabtree.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Dunagan Crabtree; a son, Robert A. Crabtree; stepson, Thomas M. Crain; two granddaughters, Cheryl and Ashley; sister, Donnie Perkins; five nephews and four nieces.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 2.
Robert Crayden
age 73; Navy veteran
Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Crayden, 73, of New Albany, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
He was a native of New Albany, retired with 40 years service with General Electric and was a member of United Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 761. He was also a member of the Indiana State Guard, the U.S.S. Zellare Memorial Association, the Tin Can Sailors Association, the Lone Sailor Association, N.R.A. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1693. He served in the United States Navy and was a decorated
Korean War veteran. he was aboard the U.S.S. Zellasrs form 1948-51 where he was a radioman. He also served in the Navy reserved from 1963-69 aboard the U.S. John King. One of his proudest experiences from the
Korean War came when he received the 50th anniversary Commemoration Medal along with a letter of appreciation from the Korean Government in 2002. He supported numerous military organizations through donations and was an avid fisherman. He was a University of Kentucky fan and a Christian.
Survivors include a daughter, Candace Crayden; two brothers, James and Anthony Crayden; two sisters, Lois Sellmer and Jeannie Muench; grandchildren, Heather and Jerry Hunter and Joseph Pittman and great-grandchildren, Jon Robert Hunter and Isabelle Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willowdean Crayden.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Helen M. Griley
age 97; Louisville native
Funeral services for Helen M. Griley, 97, formerly of Goss Ave., Louisville, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 1020 E. Burnett Ave., Louisville, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery, Louisville. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.
She was the former Helen Egner, a native of Louisville and a member of St. Ann's Altar Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Hollensead; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Russman & Sons Funeral Home, 1041 Goss Ave., will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 2.
Henry F. Higgins
age 68; of Corydon
Funeral services for Henry F. Higgins, 68, of Corydon, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. He died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Harrison County Hospital.
He was a native of Louisville, a former reservist for the U.S. Army and a retired machine operator for MKM Machine and Tool.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Higgins; a son, Damon Henry Higgins; three daughters, Dawn Higgins-Schallcross, Tamara Cooley and Shannon Higgins; three sisters, Rita Gibson, Ruth Ann Harper and Betty Hilger and eight grandchildren.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, and after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Freda M. Holmes
age 97; Louisville native
Funeral services for Freda M. Holmes, 97, of Louisville, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Corinthian Baptist Church, Louisville, with burial in Green Meadows Cemetery. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Transitional Health Services of Clark County.
She was a native of Clarksdale, Miss., retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education and a member of Corinthian Baptist Church.
Survivors include a brother, Flanoy Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation at G.C. Williams Funeral Home, Louisville, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. this evening, Monday, Sept. 2.
