Robert C. Weiss, 91, of Jackson Road, died Sunday (October 5, 2003). Mr. Weiss was born Dec. 16, 1911, in Mishawaka to Charles E. and Arvilla F. (Minnick) Weiss. He married Lois M. Berg, who died Feb. 5, 1970. He married Ruth I. (Hose) Laughlin, who died Dec. 23, 1985.

MARION DEZWARTE
Marion "Bob" DeZwarte, 74, of 64712 C.R. 21, died at 12:52 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) at Goshen General Hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1928, in Pella, Iowa, to Garrett and Gertrude (Slykhuis) DeZwarte. He married Neva Mae Shafer on Dec. 6, 1948, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She died Oct. 4, 1992.

CLEO D. COBBS
Cleo D. Cobbs, 82, of 917 S. 15th St., died at 7:25 a.m. Monday (Oct. 6, 2003) at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness. He was born July 1, 1921, in Kendallville to Harley and Emma (DeBryan) Cobbs. He married Jacqueline O. Cripe on May 29, 1945, in Fort Bragg, N.C.

RUBY BATEY
Ruby Batey, 69, of Ontario Road, died Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) at her home. She was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Smithville, Tenn., to Howard and Nadine (Rackley) Colwell. She married Luther Batey on Nov. 16, 1996, in Niles. He died in 2001.

CLIFFORD C. BATSON
Clifford C. Batson, 87, of Currant Road died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) in his home. Mr. Batson was born Feb. 1, 1916, in DeMotte, Ind., to Jess W. and Mary Jane (Frame) Batson. On Sept. 22, 1940, in South Bend, he married Jeanette Robinson.

THOMAS A. SUMPTER
Thomas A. Sumpter, 40, of 27575 Bison Ridge, died Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) at 1512 Grant St. He was born Sept. 9, 1963, in Elkhart to Charles A. and Shirley A. (Miller) Sumpter, who are now deceased. He married Tamara Szarwark on June 25, 1994, in Elkhart.

KENNETH L. HORN
A memorial service for Kenneth L. Horn was held Sept. 28, 2003, at Round Top Lookout Point on Mount Tantilas. Mr. Horn, 76, of 3526 Gordon Road, Elkhart, died at 1:41 p.m. Aug. 6, 2003, at Elkhart General Hospital.

JAMES L. ISON
James Leroy Ison, 54, died Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) at his daughter's home in Shipshewana following a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 28, 1948, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Harry and Louise (O'Donnell) Ison.

MARY I. EWING
Mary I. Ewing, 76, of 5 Swanson Manor, died at 6:58 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) at her home. She was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Elkhart to Louis and Louise (Accetturo) Ianigro. She married James E. Ewing in September of 1978 in Elkhart.

LARRY W. MILLER
Larry W. Miller, 62, of 5625 N. 50 E., died at 6 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) in his home. He was born May 31, 1941, in LaGrange County to Orva and Sarah E. (Troyer) Miller. He married Mary Jo Sutterby on March 13, 1992, in LaGrange.

KEITH L. FLOYD
Keith L. Floyd, 45, of 2281/2 N. First St., died at 2:23 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 5, 2003) from injuries he received in a vehicle accident on Steininger Road in Marcellus Township. Arrangements are pending at Connelly Funeral Home.

LOUISE M. WASHINGTON
Louise Marie Washington, 91, died Friday (Oct. 3, 2003) at the Extended Care Facility in Bonners Ferry. She was born April 9, 1912, in Burlington, Kan., to Walter and Nellie (Stephenson) Sanders. She married Richard Washington, who survives.

ETHEL R. NEFF
Ethel R. Neff, 82, of 107 Michigan St., died at 8:40 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 3, 2003) at Elkhart General Hospital. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home Bristol Chapel, where the service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Oak Ridge.

MARY E. WRIGHT
Mary E. Wright, 81, of Elkhart, died at 8 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 3, 2003) at Rosewood Terrace. She was born July 9, 1922, in Elkhart to Henry and Sadie (Fuller) Aman and married Raymond L. May on Sept. 18, 1943, at Camp Pendleton, Cal. He died Sept. 15, 1958.

C.A. OSTROM
C.A. "Tubby" Ostrom, 71, of Ozark, formerly of Edwardsburg, died July 22, 2003, from injuries he suffered in a traffic accident that afternoon near his home. The service took place July 26 at Fuqua-Banston Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. David Rhoades and the Rev. Ken Spivey.

FLORENCE NYKIEL
Florence Nykiel, 83, of Lakeland, formerly of Elkhart, died July 7, 2003, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Nykiel was born in Elkhart on Aug. 3, 1919, to Rosario and Sanita (Papa) Iannarelli. She married Louis A. Nykiel in 1947, and he died in 1996.

BETTY J. WELCH
Betty J. Welch, 79, of 56646 Diamond Drive, formerly of Union, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 3, 2003) at Elkhart General Hospital after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 19, 1923, in Mishawaka to Joseph and Pearl (Penroy) VanHuffel.

SHERRIE E. WOGOMAN
Sherrie E. Wogoman, 59, of 4514 E. 1200 N., died at 3:17 Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) after an extended illness. Mrs. Wogoman was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Richard A. and Beatrice A. (Books) Brown. She married Clifford Wogoman on Oct. 24, 1975.

SAMUEL D. CHANDLER
Samuel Duane Chandler, 86, of 8770 E. 275 S., died Sunday (Aug. 3, 2003) at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. Mr. Chandler was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Wolcottville to John P. Chandler and Eva (Hoff) Chandler. He married Eula Goodsell on Nov. 19, 1988, in Stroh.

BENJAMIN S. McDONALD
The family of Benjamin S. McDonald will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, where the service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Dan Cole with Northside Church of the Nazarene will officiate and burial will follow at Edwardsburg cemetery.

GLENN B. LASLEY
Glenn B. Lasley, 77, of 1001 W. Hively Ave., died Saturday (Nov. 30, 2002) at Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Lasley, the son of the late James and Lissie (Watkins) Lasley, was born in Union County, Ill., on Feb. 5, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and married Marcella Allen.

PAUL C. BLANKENHORN
Paul C. Blankenhorn, 77, of Bastogne Avenue, died Monday (Dec. 2, 2002) in his home. Mr. Blankenhorn was born Sept. 17, 1925, in Canal Fulton, Ohio, to Mr. and Mrs. G.D. Blankenhorn. On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Phyllis Byland in Kirksville, Mo., and she survives.

RUTH BERRY
Friends of Ruth Berry may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Connelly Funeral Home in Cassopolis, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Dr. Claudette Haney with Cassopolis United Methodist Church will officiate and burial will follow at Reames & Norton cemetery, Cassopolis.

LOIS M. COCHRAN
Lois M. Beatty Cochran, 79, of 356 E. Market St., died in her home Monday (Dec. 2, 2002). On Dec. 19, 1922, she was born in Syracuse to Clyde and Georgia Insley. She married Arthur L. Beatty on Dec. 19, 1944, in Warsaw and he died in 1958. She married Charles Cochran in 1960.

CHARLES A. WILCOX JR.
Charles A. Wilcox Jr., 65, of 919 S. Main St., died at 7:12 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) at Goshen General Hospital. Arrangements are pending at the Bristol Chapel of Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home.

HERBERT J. BARE
Herbert J. Bare, 91, of 1212 S. 12th St., died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) in Goshen General Hospital. He was born July 7, 1911, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Alva J. and Mettie M. (Sours) Bare. He married Wanda L. Bridinger on April 11, 1936, in Warsaw. She died Aug. 11, 1992.

HARRIET E. TYSON
Harriet E. Tyson, 86, of 2926 Elkhart Road, died in her home and was found at 10:06 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002). Arrangements are pending at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

BERNETA E. TROUP
Friends of Berneta E. Troup may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before the service at 11 a.m. Thursday, all at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Austin will officiate and burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.

SULTANA M. KAPPES
Sultana Marie Kappes, 98, of 23770 Hospital St., formerly of Warren, Mich., died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2002) at Cass County Medical Care Facility. She was born in St. Louis on Nov. 18, 1904, to Zacharia and Maria (Timar) Flesher and married David Kappes in Newark, Ohio, on June 12, 1939.

KIMBERLY M. WYMAN
Friends of Kimberly M. Wyman may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, with the service immediately following. Cremation will take place after the service. Ms. Wyman, 44, of 9205 W. 270 N., died from pneumonia at 8 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 1, 2002) at Goshen General Hospital.

REBECCA HOLLISTER
Rebecca Hollister, 61, of 16821 Salem St., formerly of Elkhart, died at 10 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 30, 2002) in her home. Arrangements are pending at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home.

PAULINE J. BICKART
A memorial service for Pauline J. Bickart will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald Mabry officiating. Billings Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Bickart, 90, of 2601 Oakland Ave., died on Sept. 6, 2002.

GLORIA A. AISTROP
The service for Gloria Anne "Timmie" Aistrop will be at 10 a.m. today at Billings Funeral Home with the Rev. S. Martin Kelly officiating. Burial will be at Rice cemetery. Mrs. Aistrop, 76, of 1136 Cassopolis St., died at 7:35 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 12, 2002) at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.

RUTH J. REYNOLDS-GARDNER
Friends of Ruth J. Reynolds-Gardner may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Speicher will officiate the service at 10 a.m. Friday at Beulah Missionary Church, followed by burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
