Joan Kazloff Juni

age 65; Philippines native

A memorial services for Joan Kazloff Juni, 65, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Scott Funeral Home, North Chapel. She died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of Zamboanga, Philippines, a Catholic and retired from Philippines Airlines in 1990 where she was the U.S. reservations manager since August 1967. From 1992 to 1998 she was the medical records supervisor at Oak Meadows Convalescent Center and from 1998 to the present, she worked at Clark Memorial Hospital as a patient registration representative. She was a graduate of the University of Philippines with a bachelors degree in foreign services and a major in political science. She moved to Jeffersonville from San Francisco, Calif. in 1998.

Survivors include her husband, Joselito A. Juni Sr.; two sons, Joselito K. Juni Jr., San Francisco, Calif. and James Juni, Jeffersonville; a daughter, Jacqueline Elder, Pekin; a brother, William Kozloff, Zamboanga City, Philippines and grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander and Elizabeth Juni, all of San Francisco, Calif.

He was preceded in death by her parents, Azary and Petrona Kozloff and a sister, Lida Kozloff.

Visitation at the funeral home will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Dorothye R. LaGrange

age 67; Jeffersonville resident

Funeral services for Dorothye R. LaGrange were held at 10 a.m. this morning, Monday, Sept. 2 at Coots Funeral Home with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery, Jeffersonville. She died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002 at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.

She was a native of Tell City, a real estate agent for Bauer and Associates LLC., a free lance writer and a member of Sacred Heart Church in Jeffersonville.

Survivors include four sons, Michael J. LaGrange, Kelly R. LaGrange, Kevin J. LaGrange, all of Jeffersonville and Vincent W. LaGrange, Dallas, Tx.; two brothers, Alfred Lutgring, Indianapolis and Donald Lutgring, Georgetown; three sisters, Irene Bork, Estes Park, Co., Major F. Bette Lutgring, Tell City and Geneva Gohmann, Floyds Knobs; and six grandchildren.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Noah's Ark, 101 Noahs Lane, Jeffersonville, In. or The Community Kitchen, P.O. Box 953, Jeffersonville, In.

Anna Earlene Mills

age 69; cleaning service owner

Funeral services for Anna Earlene Mills, 69, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Generations Funeral Home, New Albany, with burial in Abundant Life Cemetery, New Albany. She died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Audubon Hospital, Louisville.

She was the former Anna Earlene Lawless and was a native of Jamestown, Ky. She was the owner of Southern Indiana Cleaning Service and a member of Graceland Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Dale W. Mills and his wife, Cathy, Sellersburg and Darrell W. Mills, New Albany; three sisters, Imogene Loy, Gibson City, Ill., Chestelena Mattox, Shelbyville and Flora Smith, New Albany; four grandchildren, Melissa Caufield, Heather Riley, Jessica Mills and Elizabeth Brewer and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Clayton Mills; parents, George Robert and Dora Shearer Lawless, five brothers and two sisters.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Sept. 2.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Louisville or Hospice of Southern Indiana.

Patricia A. Neal

age 54; of Jeffersonville

A memorial services for Patricia A. Neal, 54, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Coots Funeral Home. She died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at her home.

She was a native of Centerville, Ohio.

Survivors include two daughters, Clarissa Preston, Sellersburg and Shannon Preston, Nashville, Tenn.; a son, Shawn Preston, Louisville; her mother, Irene McKenzie, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Irene Allen, Mary Sherman and Sue Denney, Columbus, Ohio and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation at the funeral home will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Clark Reynolds Sterling

age 73; Army veteran

A memorial services for Clark Reynolds Sterling, 73, of Floyds Knobs, will be held at 7 p.m. this evening, Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes. He died Saturday, Aug. 31, 29002, at his home.

He was a native of Chicago, Ill and formerly lived in Lake Bluff and Park Ridge, Ill. He was the owner of Sterling Sales Co., Floyds Knobs and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Gallagher Sterling; a son, Kent Sterling and his wife, Julie; a daughter, Kelly Sterling Riordan and her husband, Timothy; a brother, Robert Sterling; a sister, Jacqueline Campbell and four grandchildren, Ryan, Connor, Tate and Sean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Helen Sterling and a brother and sister, Kent and Helen.

No visitation will be held.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Little League Base, care of the family.

Lee E. Shields

age 76; of New Albany

Lee R. Shields, 76, of New Albany, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Norton Hospital, Louisville.

He was a native of Carisle, retired as a foundry worker for the old American Standard Company, Louisville and served in the U.S. Navy and the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of Sellersburg First Baptist Church, coached Little League in Clarksville for 20 years and was associated with Portland Christian School,

Survivors include a son, Lee R. Shields II, Louisville; three daughters, Brenda Sue Thomas, Houston, Texas and Mary Lea Seargent and Barbara Ann Kirk, Clarksville; a brother, Homer E. Shields, Mustle Shoals, Ala.; two sisters, Ruby C. Buelen, Estro, Fla., and Emma Louise Shields, Louisville and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Garr Funeral Home, Sellersburg, in charge of arrangements.

Alma Frances Sturgeon

age 88; of Georgetown

Funeral services for Alma Frances Sturgeon, 88, of Georgetown, were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, Sept. 2, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Georgetown, with burial in Wolfe Cemetery, Georgetown. She died Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services.

She was a native of Sharpville, Ky., was a retired production worker at the old Shinley Distillery in Louisville and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Georgetown.

She was the widow of James Sturgeon.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles Shirley, Miami, Fla., and Robert Shirley, Louisville; her friends, Murl and Nancy Shaffer, Georgetown, who cared for her and her best pal, Helen Holtsner, New Albany, who also cared for her. She is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.

Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home, Georgetown, was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to Lifespan Resources/Meals on Wheels.

Alma J. Wojciechowski

age 76; of Sellersburg

Graveside services for Alma J. Wojciechowski, 76, of Sellersburg, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, lived in Geneva, Ohio until Dec. 2000 and was a former nurses aide for Carrington Park Nursing Home, Ashtabula, Ohio.

Survivors include two daughters, Rochelle Goforth, Jeffersonville and Gayle Sprott, Geneva on the Lake, Ohio; a son, Walter J. Wojciechowski, Boca Raton, Fla.; a brother, Les Emerson, St. Louis, Missouri and grandchildren, Shannon Gillespie, Carrie Goforth and Hannah Goforth, Jeffersonville, Melyssa Sprott, Ashtubula, Ohio, Joey Wojciechowski, Atlanta, Ga., and Debbie Wojciechowski, Marlow Sprott, Johnnie Sprott and Jeremy Sprott, Geneva on the Lake, Ohio and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Sally Emerson.

William Harry Clark

age 72; Army veteran

Funeral services for William Harry Clark, 72, of New Albany, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church, with private burial Friday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Eldorado, Ill. He died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002, at Baptist East Hospital, Louisville.

He was a native of Eldorado, Ill., and a retired employee of the Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Voiture 40 & 8 in New Albany. He was a life member of the Bonnie Sloan Post 38 American Legion in New Albany.

Survivors include a brother, Perry L. Clark, Jefferson City, Missouri; three nephews; and six great nieces and nephews.

Visitation at Kraft Funeral Home, Spring Street Chapel, will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Charles J. Crawford

age 83; WWII Army veteran

Funeral services for Charles J. Crawford, 83, of Jeffersonville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at Coots Funeral Home, with burial in Eastern Cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville.

He was a native of Jeffersonville, an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Dairyman Old Kannapple and Sealtest. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth P. Crawford; two sons, William L. Barney, Puente La, Calif., and Steve T. Crawdord, Jeffersonville; two daughters, Brenda L. Chamber, Jeffersonville and Rhonda E. Folks, Jamaica Queens, N.Y.; a sister, Ramona Grant, New Albany; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles J. Crawford Jr.

Visitation at the funeral home will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4.
