MENTONE - Mary A. Utter, 79, of 204 N. Tucker St., died at 12:12 p.m. Monday in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Survivors include her husband, Harold R. "Hap"; a son, Tim of Mentone, and two sisters, Grace Gochenour of Argos and Aleene Adams of Mentone. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Mentone United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday in King Memorial Home.

Howard C. Walker

June 22, 1926 - Dec. 6, 1998

LAPORTE - Howard C. Walker, 72, of 2007 Monroe St., died Sunday in Michigan City Health Care Center. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Gallagher of Richton Park, Ill., and Denise Schneider of Cary, Ill.; and a son, Bruce of Cincinnati. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Haverstock Funeral Home.

Helen E. Weil

Sept. 14, 1904 - Dec. 8, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Helen E. Weil, 94, of the Milton Home, died Tuesday in Hospice House of St. Joseph county of natural causes. Survivors include a daughter, Donna Grauel of South Bend; and a son, Jack of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road.

Glenn R. Williams Jr.

Feb. 17, 1979 - Dec. 3, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Glenn R. Williams Jr., 19, of North Allen Street, died Thursday after he was shot in an apparent robbery attempt at a South Bend liquor store. Survivors include a son, Tyshawn D. of South Bend; his mother, Joyce Taylor of South Bend, his father, Glenn R. Williams Sr. of South Bend; two sisters, Javonna Harris and Jaques D. Harris, both of South Bend; and a brother, Jamar Magee of South Bend. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Grace Christian Church and Evangelistic Outreach, where friends may call one hour before services. Alford's Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Ruby I. Anderson

Feb. 22, 1916 - Dec. 4, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Ruby Irene Anderson, 82, of Springbrook Drive, died of natural causes in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Candyce E. Anderson of San Francisco and Carol Sanner of South Bend; two sons, Louis L. Jr. and J. Greg, both of South Bend; and a sister, Elizabeth Hook of Paducah, Ky. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame. Friends may call from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home.

Mary D. Armalis

May 5, 1910 - Dec. 4, 1998

ROLLING PRAIRIE - Mary D. Armalis, 88, of East Saugana Trail, died Friday in her home. Survivors include four daughters, Marion Mack of New Carlisle, Arleen Bruck of Rolling Prairie, Nancy O'Hare of Hickory Hills, Ill., and Joyce Decker of Danville, Calif. Services will be at 11 a.m. (CST) Monday in St. John Kanty Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. (CST) Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, New Carlisle, where a parish Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. (CST).

Samuel E. Arnett

April 4, 1919 - Dec. 3, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Samuel E. Arnett, 79, of Miami Road, died of natural causes Thursday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife Eve; two sons, Eric of Columbus, Ind., and Brian of South Bend; and four sisters, Vesta Hill of Franklin, Ind., Viola Yingst of Covington, Ohio, Betty Hare of Mount Morris, Ill., and Bernice Jones of Mesa, Ariz. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Grace United Methodist Church. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home.

Raymond F. Bankowski

Nov. 20, 1920 - Dec. 2, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Raymond Frank Bankowski, 78, of Schaumburg, Ill., formerly of South Bend, died Wednesday in the Hoffman Estates Medical Center, Hoffman Estates, Ill. Survivors include his son, Dennis of Barrington, Ill.; seven sisters, Regina Kazda, Helen Pierce, Clara Lupa and Jean Kaczorowski, all of South Bend, Etta Fournier and Alice DeBel both of Mishawaka, and Dolly Mull of Three Rivers; and two brothers, Harry of South Bend and Don of Mesa, Ariz. The Stirlen - Pieper & Davenport Funeral Home, Barrington, is handling arrangements.

ROLLING PRAIRIE - Ernest C. Blint, 78, of Bethesda, Md., formerly of Rolling Prairie, died Wednesday in Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md. Survivors include his wife Sara; three daughters, Marsha Bennett of Naperville, Ill., Christine Blint of Eugene, Ore., and Susan Lalich of Springfield, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Hope Snyder of Frederick, Md.; a son, Paul of Eugene; a stepson, Robert M. Maxell of Bogata, Colombia, South America; and three brothers, Donald G. of New Carlisle, Gordon R. of Michigan City and James A. of LaPorte. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Haverstock Funeral Home, where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Lenox B. Buchanan

HARBERT - Lenox Brown "Buck" Buchanan, 96, of 13215 Ravine Road, died Thursday in Riveridge Manor, Niles, following a brief illness. Survivors include a son, Lenox B. Jr. of Annapolis, Md. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Harbert Community Church. There will be no visitation. The Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, is handling arrangements.

KNOX - Frank Cole, 78, of 9 South McGill St., died of natural causes Friday in the Wintersong Village Nursing Home. Survivors include his wife Mary; two sisters, Hazel Schall of Knox and Vera Gann of Dutton, Ala.; and two brothers, Morris of Knox and Luther of Lexington, Ky. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Seventh Day Pentecostal Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Braman & Sons Memorial Chapel.

Delores E. Cooper

MISHAWAKA - Delores E. Cooper, 78, of New Carlisle, formerly of Mishawaka, died Friday in Hamilton Grove Retirement Community after an illness. Survivors include six daughters, Pat Jayme, Sharon Dusenberry, Sandy Grant, Billie Erlandson and Cheryl Sandefur, all of Mishawaka, and Beverly Arnold of South Bend; a son, Larry McDaniel of Hanford, Calif.; and a sister, May Lou Timmons of Worthington. There will be no services or visitation. The Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Robert Fulford

June 24, 1915 - Dec. 3, 1998

MILLERSBURG - Robert Fulford, 83, of 123 N. Jefferson St., died Thursday in his home. Survivors include a daughter, Bonny Brennan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two sons, Bradley and David, both of Mishawaka. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Rieth - Rohrer - Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Jessie W. Hanson

June 3, 1919 - Dec. 1, 1998

NILES - Jessie W. Hanson, 79, of 1615 N. Fifth St., died of natural causes Tuesday in her home. Survivors include two daughters, Martha J. Graham of Colon, Mich., and Carol L. Jensen of Alto, N.M.; a son, John H. of Bloomington, Ind.; and a brother, Samuel G. West of Niles. There will be a private family service. There will be no visitation. The Halbritter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Sister M. Celeste Harber

May 31, 1904 - Dec. 3, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Celeste, CSC, (Myrtle Josephine Harber), 94, of Saint Mary's Convent, Notre Dame, died Thursday in the convent. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. The Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, is handling arrangements.

Dallas C. Pointon

Nov. 27, 1927 - Dec. 2, 1998

SOUTH BEND - Dallas C. Pointon, 71, of 1014 Olive St., died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife Helen; four daughters, Mary Blodgett, Cindy Farley, Patricia Martin and Tina Walden, all of South Bend; five sons, Peter Kuta and Dennis Pointon, both of Michigan City, Christopher Pointon of New Carlisle, John Pointon of Westville and Richard Pointon of South Bend; four sisters, Louretta Johnson of Melbourne, Fla., Helen Silvers of Walkerton, Betty Smith of Arizona and Hilda Watson of Michigan City; and a brother, Harry of LaPorte. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Patton cemetery, LaPorte. Friends may call one hour before services in the Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte.

Kenneth W. Puckett

June 20, 1955 - Dec. 3, 1998

ETNA GREEN - Kenneth W. Puckett, 43, of Roanoke, Ind., formerly of Etna Green, died Thursday in Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne of natural causes. Survivors include two daughters, Tara Puckett of Warsaw and Carrie Puckett of Leesburg; two sisters, Barbara Meinert of Roanoke and Beatrice Price of Napoleon, Ohio; and a brother, Ronald of Etna Green. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Deaton Funeral Home, Bourbon, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday.
